Matthew 1
1 The genealogy of Jesus Christ, son of David, son of Abraham.
൧അബ്രാഹാമിന്‍റെ പുത്രനായ ദാവീദിന്‍റെ പുത്രനായി ജനിച്ച യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്‍റെ വംശാവലി:
2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judah and his brothers.
൨അബ്രാഹാം യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; യിസ്ഹാക്ക് യാക്കോബിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; യാക്കോബ് യെഹൂദയുടേയും അവന്‍റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെയും പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
3 And Judah begat Pharez and Zarah, by Tamar. And Pharez begat Hezron; and Hezron begat Ram;
൩യെഹൂദാ പാരെസിനെയും സാരഹിനേയും താമാറിൽ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; പാരെസ് ഹെസ്രോന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; ഹെസ്രോൻ ആരാമിൻ്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
4 and Ram begat Amminadab; and Amminadab begat Nahshon; and Nahshon begat Salmon;
൪ആരാം അമ്മീനാദാബിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; അമ്മീനാദാബ് നഹശോനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; നഹശോൻ ശല്മോനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു;
5 and Salmon begat Boaz by Rahab. And Boaz begat Obed by Ruth. And Obed begat Jesse;
൫ശല്മോൻ രാഹാബിൽ ബോവസിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ബോവസ് രൂത്തിൽ ഓബേദിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ഓബേദ് യിശ്ശായിയുടെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
6 and Jesse begat David the king. And David begat Solomon by the wife of Uriah.
൬യിശ്ശായി ദാവീദ്‌രാജാവിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; ദാവീദ് ഊരീയാവിന്‍റെ ഭാര്യയായിരുന്നവളിൽ ശലോമോനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു;
7 And Solomon begat Rehoboam; and Rehoboam begat Abijah; and Abijah begat Asa;
൭ശലോമോൻ രെഹബ്യാമിൻ്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; രെഹബ്യാം അഹീയാവിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; അബീയാവ് ആസായുടെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
8 and Asa begat Jehoshaphat; and Jehoshaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Uzziah;
൮ആസാ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് യോരാമിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; യോരാം ഉസ്സീയാവിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
9 and Uzziah begat Jotham; and Jotham begat Ahaz; and Ahaz begat Hezekiah;
൯ഉസ്സീയാവ് യോഥാമിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; യോഥാം ആഹാസിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; ആഹാസ് ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
10 and Hezekiah begat Manasseh; and Manasseh begat Amon; and Amon begat Josiah;
൧൦ഹിസ്കീയാവ് മനശ്ശെയുടെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; മനശ്ശെ ആമോസിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; ആമോസ് യോശീയാവിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
11 and Josiah begat Jeconiah and his brothers, at the time of the removal to Babylon.
൧൧യോശീയാവ് യെഖൊന്യാവെയും അവന്‍റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെയും ബാബേൽപ്രവാസകാലത്ത് ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.
12 And after the removal to Babylon, Jeconiah begat Shealtiel; and Shealtiel begat Zerubbabel;
൧൨ബാബേൽപ്രവാസത്തിനുശേഷം യെഖൊന്യാവ് ശെയല്തീയേലിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; ശെയല്തീയേൽ സെരുബ്ബാബേലിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
13 and Zerubbabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
൧൩സെരുബ്ബാബേൽ അബീഹൂദിൻ്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; അബീഹൂദ് എല്യാക്കീമിൻ്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; എല്യാക്കീം ആസോരിൻ്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു.
14 and Azor begat Zadok; and Zadok begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
൧൪ആസോർ സാദോക്കിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; സാദോക്ക് ആഖീമിൻ്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; ആഖീം എലീഹൂദിൻ്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു;
15 and Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
൧൫എലീഹൂദ് എലീയാസരിൻ്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; എലീയാസർ മത്ഥാൻ്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; മത്ഥാൻ യാക്കോബിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു.
16 and Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
൧൬യാക്കോബ് മറിയയുടെ ഭർത്താവായ യോസേഫിന്‍റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു. മറിയയിൽ നിന്നു ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു പേരുള്ള യേശു ജനിച്ചു.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David to the removal to Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the removal to Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
൧൭ഇങ്ങനെ തലമുറകൾ ആകെ അബ്രാഹാം മുതൽ ദാവീദ്‌വരെ പതിനാലും ദാവീദുമുതൽ ബാബേൽപ്രവാസത്തോളം പതിനാലും ബാബേൽ പ്രവാസം മുതൽ ക്രിസ്തുവിനോളം പതിനാലും ആകുന്നു.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was in this manner. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit.
൧൮എന്നാൽ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്‍റെ ജനനം ഇപ്രകാരം ആയിരുന്നു. അവന്‍റെ അമ്മയായ മറിയ യോസഫിന് വിവാഹം നിശ്ചയിക്കപ്പെട്ടശേഷം അവർ കൂടി യോജിക്കും മുമ്പെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാൽ ഗർഭംധരിച്ചു എന്നു മനസ്സിലാക്കി.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being righteous, and not willing to expose her to shame, purposed to put her away privately.
൧൯അവളുടെ ഭർത്താവായ യോസേഫ് നീതിമാനായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും അവളെ പരസ്യമായി കളങ്കപ്പെടുത്തുവാൻ അവനു മനസ്സില്ലാത്തതു കൊണ്ടും അവളുമായുള്ള വിവഹനിശ്ചയം രഹസ്യമായി അവസാനിപ്പിക്കുവാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചു.
20 But while he thought on these things, lo! an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, fear not to take to thee Mary thy wife; for that which is conceived in her is by the Holy Spirit.
൨൦ഇങ്ങനെ ചിന്തിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ കർത്താവിന്‍റെ ദൂതൻ അവനു സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി: “ദാവീദിന്‍റെ മകനായ യോസഫേ, മറിയയെ ഭാര്യയായി സ്വീകരിക്കുന്ന കാര്യത്തിൽ നീ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; അവളിൽ ഉല്പാദിതമായത് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാൽ ആകുന്നു.
21 And she will bear a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus; for he will save his people from their sins.
൨൧അവൾ ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കും; അവൻ തന്‍റെ ജനത്തെ അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കുവാനായി വന്നിരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് നീ അവന്‍റെ പേര് യേശു എന്നു വിളിക്കേണം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
22 Now all this took place, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
൨൨“കന്യക ഗർഭിണിയായി ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കും; അവനു ദൈവം നമ്മോടുകൂടെ എന്നർത്ഥമുള്ള ഇമ്മാനുവേൽ എന്നു പേർ വിളിക്കും”
23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel;” that is, when interpreted, God-is with-us.
൨൩കർത്താവ് പ്രവാചകൻമുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത കാര്യങ്ങൾ ഇപ്രകാരം നിവർത്തിയായി.
24 Then Joseph, on waking up from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took to him his wife;
൨൪യോസേഫ് ഉറക്കം ഉണർന്നു. കർത്താവിന്‍റെ ദൂതൻ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ചെയ്തു, തന്‍റെ ഭാര്യയായി അവളെ സ്വീകരിച്ചു.
25 and he knew her not till she had brought forth a son: and he called his name Jesus.
൨൫എന്നിരുന്നാലും, മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കുംവരെ അവൻ അവളുമായി ശാരീരികമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നില്ല. മകന് അവൻ യേശു എന്നു പേർ വിളിച്ചു.
