< Matthew 6 >

1 But take heed that ye do not your righteousness before men, to be seen by them; otherwise ye have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.
“Mwiteiganje nnatendanje indu ya mmbone pa bhandu nkupinga bhammonanje. Nngabha nneyo, Ainabhenunji bha kunnungu bhakampanganga upo.
2 Therefore when thou doest alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Truly do I say to you, They have received their reward.
“Bhai, punkunnjangutila jwangali shindu, nnagombe mmbila. Nnatende malinga shibhaatendanga bhagulumba mmashinagogi na mmipanda, nkupinga bhalumbililwanje na bhandunji. Kweli ngunakunnugulilanga, bhene bhanganyabho bhapatilenje upo yabhonji.
3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth;
Ikabheje punkunnjangutila mundu jwangali shindu, nkali mundu jwa tome na mmwe, anamumanye inkutenda.
4 that thine alms may be in secret; and thy Father, who seeth in secret, will reward thee.
Nshoye mbepei yenu kwa nng'iyo, na Ainabhenu bhakwiibhona indu ya nng'iyo, shibhanng'upe.
5 And when ye pray, ye shall not be as the hypocrites are; for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Truly do I say to you, They have received their reward.
“Punkwaajuganga a Nnungu, nnatendanje malinga bhagulumba. Pabha bhanganyabho, pubhajuganga bhanaapinganga kujima mmashinagogi na nnyenje mipanda nkupinga bhalolwanje na bhandunji. Kweli ngunakummalanjilanga, bhalabhonji bhapatilenje upo yabhonji.
6 But do thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and, when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father, who seeth in secret, will reward thee.
Ikabheje mmwe punkwaajuga a Nnungu, nnjinjile kukati jenu, nng'ugale nnango, mwaajuje Ainabhenu bhakabhonekana. Na bhalabho Ainabhenu bhakwibhona indu ya nng'iyo, shibhanng'upe.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do; for they think that they shall be heard for the multitude of their words.
“Punkwaajuganga a Nnungu, nnajobhelanje malinga bhandunji bhangabha Bhayaudi. Pabha pubhaaganishiyanga kuti a Nnungu shibhaapilikanilanje kwa ligongo lya gwinji gwa malobhe gabhonji.
8 Be not ye therefore like them; for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Nnabhanganje malinga bhanganyabho. Pabha Ainabhenunji bhaimanyi inkupinganga, nkali nkanabhe kwaajuganga.
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: —Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
Bhai, nnjuganje nnei, ‘Atati nni kunnungu, Lina lyenu likuywe.
10 thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven;
Upalume gwenu guishe. Linkupinga mmwe litendeshe pa shilambolyo malinga shiikutendeka kunnunguko.
11 give us this day our daily bread;
Ntupe lelo shalya sha togolela lelo.
12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors;
Ntuleshelele itulebhile, malinga na uwe shitukwaaleshelelanga bhatulebhilenje.
13 and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Nnatubhishe mmalinjilo, ikabheje ntuembuye naka Lishetani jula. Pabha upalume ni gwenu na mashili na ukonjelo pitipiti. Amina.’
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you;
“Pabha Mwaaleshelelangaga bhandu ibhannebhilenje, nneyo peyo Ainabhenunji bha kunnungu shibhanneshelelanje innebhilenje.
15 but if ye do not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Ikabheje nkaaleshelelanje bhandunji yambi yabhonji, na bhalabho Ainabhenunji bhakanneshelelanga innebhilenje.
16 Moreover, when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance; for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear to men to be fasting. Truly do I say to you, They have received their reward.
“Punkutabhanga, nnaumalanje kumeyo malinga bhagulumba. Bhanaumalanga kumeyo nkupinga bhabhonekanje na bhandu kuti bhashitabhanga. Kweli ngunakummalanjilanga bhanganyabho, bhapatilenje upo yabhonji.
17 But do thou, when thou fastest, anoint thy head, and wash thy face;
Ikabheje mmwe punkutabha, nnabhe kumeyo na mpakale mauta muntwe.
18 that thou appear not to men to be fasting, but to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father, who seeth in secret, will reward thee.
Nkupinga bhandunji bhanamumanyanje kuti nnatabha, ikabheje mmanyishepe na Ainabhenu bhakaabhoneka, nabhalabho Ainabhenu bhakwiibhona ya nng'iyo shibhanng'upe.
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where the moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal;
“Nnaibhishilanje shibhiko pa shilambolyo pano, ipukuu na nkubha inaangabhanya na bhagwii bhanakaaanga nijibha.
20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumeth, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.
Ikabhe mwibhishilanje indu yenunji kunnungu kwikaangabhanika na ipukuu na nkubha, nkali bhagwii bhakakaanga nijibha.
21 For where thy treasure is, there will thy heart be also.
Pabha pushili shibhiko shenu, na ntima gwenu shugubhe popo.
22 The eye is the lamp of the body. If thine eye he clear, thy whole body will be in light;
“Liyo mbuti kandili ja shiilu, bhai liyo libhaga lyalikoto, shililangaye shiilu shenu showe.
23 but if thine eye be disordered, thy whole body will be in darkness. If then the light that is within thee is darkness, how great that darkness!
Ikabheje liyo libhaga lilwele shiilu shenu showe shishibhe nnubhindu. Bhai, ibhaga shilangaya shili nkati jenu shilepelaga kulangaya, shilubhe lubhindu lwa punda!
24 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate one, and love the other; or else he will cleave to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
“Jwakwa ntumwa akombola kwaatumishilanga bhakulungwanji bhabhili, pabha shanshime jumo nikumpinga junajo, eu shalongane naka jumo nikumpetekuya junajo. Nkakombola kwaatumishila a Nnungu na tumishila mali.
25 Therefore I say to you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body than raiment?
“Kwa nneyo ngunakummalanjilanga, nnakolanje lipamba ga gumi gwenunji, kuti nniyanganje nndi eu mpapilanje nndi, wala ga iilu yenunji kuti nng'walanje nndi. Bhuli, gumi ukapunda shalya? Bhuli, shiilu shikapunda iwalo?
26 Behold the birds of the air, that they sow not, nor reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much greater value than they?
Mwilolanje ijuni ya mukonde, ikapanda, wala ikauna na wala yangali nngokwe jojowe. Nkali nneyo Ainabhenunji bha kunnungu bhanakwiiliya. Bhuli, mmanganyanji nngabha mmammbonenji kupunda ijuniyo?
27 But who of you by anxious thought can add to his life one cubit?
Gani munkumbi gwenunji kwa kola lipamba kwakwe anakombola kwijenjesheya kapela lyubha limo lya mobha gakwe galama?
28 And why are ye anxious about raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They toil not, neither do they spin;
“Kwa nndi kola lipamba ga iwalo? Nnolanje malubha ga mukonde shigakutikonja? Gakakamula liengo wala gakapota.
29 and yet I say to you, that not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed like one of these.
Ikabheje ngunakummalanjilanga, nkali a Mpalume a Shelemani bhayene na yowe ibhaakwete bhangawashwa kwa konja malinga lilubha limo.
30 And if God so clothes the herbage of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into an oven, will he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Bhai ibhaga a Nnungu bhanakuliwasha liamba lya mmigunda, lelo lipali na malabhi lilileshelwa pa lituto lya moto, bhuli bhakapunda kunng'washanga mmanganyanji? Mmanganya nkwetenje ngulupai jishoko.
31 Therefore be not anxious, saying, What shall we eat, or what shall we drink, or wherewith shall we he clothed?
“Bhai, nnakolanje lipamba, ‘Shitulye indi eu shitupapile indi eu shituwale indi!’
32 For after all these things do the gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Pabha bhandu bhakakwaamanyanga a Nnungu bhanaabhushilanga yene yoweyo. Ainabhenunji bhali kunnungu bhamumanyi kuti nnakwiipinganga indu yoweyo.
33 But seek first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will also be given you.
Ikabhe, nnoleyanje oti Upalume gwa a Nnungu na aki jabho na gene gowego, a Nnungu shibhannjenjesheyanje.
34 Be not then anxious about the morrow; for the morrow will be anxious about itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof.
Bhai, nnaabhushilanje ya malabhi, pabha malabhi shigaiabhushile gayene. Shilaje sha lyubha limo shinatogolela kwa lyubha lyolyo.
