< Matthew 5 >

1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into the mountain; and when he had sat down, his disciples came to him.
Yesu mpwalabona likoto linene lya bantu balikumukonkela, walatanta pa mulundu ne kwikala panshi pamo ne beshikwiya bakendi,
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying: —
walatatika kubeyisha kambeti,
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Bakute colwe abo bacinka manungo pali Lesa, pakwinga Bwami bwa kwilu ni bwabo.
4 Blessed are they who mourn; for they will be comforted.
bakute colwe, bantu balalilinga, pakwinga Lesa nakabaumbulushe.
5 Blessed are the meek; for they will inherit the earth.
bakute colwe, bantu balicepesha, pakwinga nibakatambule ico Lesa ncalabalaya.
6 Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness; for they will be filled.
bakute colwe, bantu balanyumfunga nsala ne nyotwa ya kwinsa cilayandanga Lesa, pakwinga nibakekutishiwe.
7 Blessed are the merciful; for they will obtain mercy.
bakute colwe bantu bakute nkumbo kubanabo, pakwinga Lesa nakabanyumfwile nkumbo.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart; for they will see God.
bakute colwe, bantu baswepa myoyo, pakwinga nibakabone Lesa.
9 Blessed are the peace-makers; for they will be called sons of God.
bakute colwe bantu balaletenga lumuno, pakwinga nibakakwiweti bana ba Lesa.
10 Blessed are they who are persecuted for righteousness' sake; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Bakute colwe bantu balapenshewanga, pacebo cakwinsa calulama, pakwinga Bwami bwa kwilu nibwabo.
11 Blessed are ye, when men revile you, and persecute you, and say every thing that is bad against you, falsely, for my sake.
“Mwalelekwa, omulatukanwanga, kupenshewa, ne kumubepesha bintu bingi bbyaipa pacebo cakwambeti munkonkelenga.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad; for great is your reward in heaven; for so did they persecute the prophets that were before you.
Kamusamwani, kayi kamukondwani, pakwinga cilambo cenu kwilu nicinene. Naboyo bashinshimi, amwe kamutana musemwa, balabapenshewa munshila yopeleyo.”
13 Ye are the salt of the earth. But if the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall itself be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot by men.
“Amwe mulyeti mucele wa bantu bonse pacishi capanshi, nomba na mucele usambuluka, nicani celela kubweshulula mbuli ncowanga? Ulabulu ncito, nikutayowa pansa kaulyataulwa ne bantu.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid;
“Amwe mulyeti mumuni wishikumunikila bantu bonse mucishi. Munshi webakwa pa mulundu nkawelela kubula kubonekela.
15 nor do men light a lamp, and put it under the bushel, but on the lamp-stand; and it giveth light to all that are in the house.
Paliya muntu ukute kubangilisha lampi nekwifwekelela munongo, nsombi bakute kubika pacakubikapo lampi, kwambeti umunikile bantu bonse bali mung'andomo,
16 In like manner let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Cimo cimo nenjamwe munikani pamenso abantu, kwambeti babona ncito shenu shaina, bakatembaule Bameshenu ba kwilu.
17 Think not that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfill.
“Kamutayeyeti ndesakupwisha Milawo ya Mose, ne biyisho bya bashinshimi. Ame ndiyakwisa kwipwisha sobwe, nsombi kwisa kwikwanilisha.
18 For truly do I say to you, Not till heaven and earth pass away, shall one jot or one tittle pass from the Law, till all be fulfilled.
Cakubinga ndamwambilishingeti kwilu necishi capanshi kabitanabipwa, paliya libala nilikaba ling'aneconi lya Mulawo lyeshi likafumemo, mpaka byonse bikakwanilishiwe.
19 Whoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, will be called the least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever shall do and teach them, he will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Neco muntu labulunga kukonka mulawo umo uli mumilawo iyi, nambi kauli ung'aneconi, ne kwiyishako nabambi kwambeti naboyo babule kukonka, nakabe mung'ana mu Bwami bwa kwilu. Nomba muntu uliyense lakonkonga Milawo, ne kwiyishako nabambi kwambeti naboyo baikonke, nakabe mukulene mu Bwami bwa kwilu.
20 For I say to you, Unless your righteousness shall exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees, ye will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Encondamwambililingeti, na bululami bwenu nkabwapita bululami bwa beshikwiyisha milawo ya Mose ne Bafalisi, nteti mukengilemo mu Bwami bwa kwilu pimbi.
21 Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, “Thou shalt not kill; and whoever shall kill, shall be in danger of the Judges.”
“Mwalanyumfwa kwambeti, kaindi bantu balambilweti ‘Kotashina, uliyense lashini munendi welela komboloshewa ku nkuta.’
22 But I say to you, that whoever is angry with his brother shall be in danger of the Judges; and whoever shall say to his brother, Simpleton! shall be in danger of the Council; and whoever shall say, Fool! shall be in danger of hell-fire. (Geenna g1067)
Nsombi lino ame ndamwambilingeti, muntu uliyense lakalalilinga mukwabo welela kupewa mulandu ku nkuta, Uliyense lambilinga munendi eti, ‘Omuluya’ Welela komboloshewa ku Nkuta. Nomba uliyense lambilinga munendi eti, ‘Cishilu’ Nendi welela kuyamu mulilo wa Gehena. (Geenna g1067)
23 Therefore, if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there remember that thy brother hath aught against thee,
“Neco na ulesa necipo cakobe cakubenga kuli Lesa pa nteme, kayi wanuka kwambeti, munobe ukute mulandu nenjobe,
24 leave there thy gift before the altar, and go away; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
koshiya cipo cakobeco pambali pa nteme, koya unyumfwane mulumuno ne munobe, wenseco bwela ubenge cipo cakobe kuli Lesa panteme.
25 Agree with thine adversary at law quickly, while thou art on the road with him; lest the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
“Kamufwambananga kunyumfwana ne muntu ngolepishili kamutana mushika ku nkuta. Kutineti ingaukutwala ku momboloshi, nendi momboloshi, ingaukubika mu makasa a mushilikali uyo welela kukuwala mu jele.
26 Truly do I say to thee, Thou wilt not come out thence, till thou hast paid the last farthing.
Cakubinga ndakwambilishinga, nukekale mujele mpaka ukapwishe kulipila mwelo wamali a mulandu.”
27 Ye have heard that it was said, “Thou shalt not commit adultery.”
“Mwalanyumfwa kwambeti kaindi bantu balambilweti, ‘Kotapombola.’
28 But I say to you, that whoever looketh on a woman to lust after her, hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Nomba lino ame ndamwambilingeti muntu uliyense lamulangishishinga mutukashi cakumukumbwa, lamupombolo kendi mumoyo wakendi.
29 And if thy right eye cause thee to offend, pluck it out, and cast it from thee; for it is better for thee that one of thy members should perish, than that thy whole body should be cast into hell. (Geenna g1067)
Na linso lyakobe lilakwipishinga, ulikolobolemo ulitaye. Caina kutayako lubasu lumo lwa mubili wakobe, kupita kuba ne mubili wakwana ne kuwalwa mu Gehena. (Geenna g1067)
30 And if thy right hand cause thee to offend, cut it off, and cast it from thee; for it is better for thee that one of thy members should perish, than that thy whole body should go away into hell. (Geenna g1067)
Kayi na cikasa cakobe cakululyo cilakwipishinga, ucitimbule ucitaye. Caina kutayako lubasu lumo lwamubili wakobe, kupita kuba ne mubili wakwana ne kuwalwa mu Gehena. (Geenna g1067)
31 And it was said, “Whoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement.”
“Kayi kaindi balambilweti, ‘Na muntu uleka mukashendi, amulembele ne kumupa cipepala cabushike.’
32 But I say to you, that whoever putteth away his wife, unless it be on account of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery; and whoever shall marry her when put away, committeth adultery.
Nomba ame lino ndamwambilingeti, uliyense lalekenga mukashendi pacebo cimbi cabula kuba cabupombo, uyo mukashi ebwa kumutuloba naumbi lenshi bupombo, nendi mutuloba uyo lamwebe ukute mulandu wabupombo.
33 Again ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, “Thou shalt not swear falsely, but shalt perform to the Lord thine oaths.”
“Kayi mwalamfweti, kaindi bantu balambilweti, ‘Kotaumbila cabwepeshi, nsombi cinse ncowalalumbila kuli Lesa.’
34 But I say to you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;
Nomba ame ndamwambilingeti, lekani kulumbila sobwe. Kamutalumbilangeti, kwilu kwine nditu! pakwinga kwilu ekuli cipuna ca Mwami Lesa,
35 nor by the earth, for it is his footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King;
Kamutalumbilangeti, pacishi capanshi nditu! pakwinga pacishi capanshi epakulyata myendo yakendi Lesa. kayi kamutalumbilangeti ‘Pali Yelusalemu nditu!’ Pakwinga Yelusalemu ni munshi wa Mwami mukulene.
36 nor shalt thou swear by thy head, for thou canst not make one hair white or black.
Kamutalumbilangeti, ‘Mutwi wakame nditu,’ Pakwinga nkamwelela kusandula mishishi kuba ituba nambi ishipa.
37 But let your language be, Yea, yea; Nay; nay; for whatever is more than these cometh of evil.
Kamwambangoweti, ‘Ee’ Nambi ‘ne.’ Cakusankanyapo pali ibi cilafumunga kuli Waipa usa.”
38 Ye have heard that it was said, “An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.”
Mwalanyumfweti kaindi bantu balambilweti, Linso kubenga linso, lino kubenga lino.
39 But I say to you, that ye resist not the evil-doer; but whoever smiteth thee on the right cheek, turn to him the other also;
Nomba ame lino ndamwambilingeti “Kamutabweshelanga caipa kumuntu lamwipishili sobwe. Na muntu ukuma kulicili lya kululyo, akume kayi kulicili lya kucipiko.
40 and if any one intends to sue thee at the law, and take thy coat, give up to him thy cloak also;
Na muntu ukupa mulandu, ne kukukakatisheti umupe mwinjila wakobe, muleke amantile kumo ne munganjo.
41 and whoever shall compel thee to go one mile, go with him two.
Muntu uliyense amukakatisha kwenda nendi mushinso wakilomita imo, wende nendi mushinso wamakilomita abili.
42 Give to him that asketh of thee; and from him that would borrow of thee, turn not away.
Muntu amusenga cintu mupeni. Kayi muntu ayandanga kubweleka cintu kulinjobe kotamukanina.”
43 Ye have heard that it was said, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy.”
Mwalanyumfweti kaindi bantu balambilweti, Kosuna munobe, mupele mulwani wakobe.
44 But I say to you, Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you;
Nomba ame lino ndamwambilingeti, basuneni balwani benu ne kubapaililako kuli Lesa abo balamupenshenga.
45 that ye may become sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Mwenseco, emposhimubele limo bana ba Bameshenu balikwilu, bakute kuleta lumwi pa bantu baipa ne baina. Kayi bakute kulokela mfula pa bantu baina ne baipa.
46 For if ye love those who love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same?
Na kamusunakowa bantu bamusuni, ngamutambulapo cilambo cini kuli Lesa? Beshimisonko nabo nte ncobakute kwinsa copeleco?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye that excelleth? Do not even the heathen the same?
Kayi nakamupa mitende banse benu bonka, mulenshipo cani capita nabambi? Sena bantu batamwinshi Lesa nkabakute kwinsa copeleco?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Kamubani babula kampenda, mbuli Bameshenu bakwilu ncobabula kampenda.
