Matthew 5
1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into the mountain; and when he had sat down, his disciples came to him.

2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying: —

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Feliĉaj estas la malriĉaj en spirito, ĉar ilia estas la regno de la ĉielo.
4 Blessed are they who mourn; for they will be comforted.
Feliĉaj estas la plorantaj, ĉar ili konsoliĝos.
5 Blessed are the meek; for they will inherit the earth.
Feliĉaj estas la humilaj, ĉar ili heredos la teron.
6 Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness; for they will be filled.
Feliĉaj estas tiuj, kiuj malsatas kaj soifas justecon, ĉar ili satiĝos.
7 Blessed are the merciful; for they will obtain mercy.
Feliĉaj estas la kompatemaj, ĉar ili ricevos kompaton.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart; for they will see God.
Feliĉaj estas la kore puraj, ĉar ili vidos Dion.
9 Blessed are the peace-makers; for they will be called sons of God.
Feliĉaj estas la pacigantoj, ĉar filoj de Dio ili estos nomataj.
10 Blessed are they who are persecuted for righteousness' sake; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Feliĉaj estas tiuj, kiuj estas persekutitaj pro justeco, ĉar ilia estas la regno de la ĉielo.
11 Blessed are ye, when men revile you, and persecute you, and say every thing that is bad against you, falsely, for my sake.
Feliĉaj estas vi, kiam oni vin riproĉos kaj persekutos kaj false vin kalumnios pro mi.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad; for great is your reward in heaven; for so did they persecute the prophets that were before you.
Ĝoju kaj raviĝu, ĉar via rekompenco estos granda en la ĉielo; ĉar tiel oni persekutis la profetojn, kiuj estis antaŭ vi.
13 Ye are the salt of the earth. But if the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall itself be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot by men.
Vi estas la salo de la tero; sed se la salo sengustiĝis, per kio ĝi estos salita? ĝi jam taŭgas por nenio, krom por esti elĵetita kaj piedpremita de homoj.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid;
Vi estas la lumo de la mondo. Urbo starigita sur monto ne povas esti kaŝita.
15 nor do men light a lamp, and put it under the bushel, but on the lamp-stand; and it giveth light to all that are in the house.
Kiam oni bruligas lampon, oni metas ĝin ne sub grenmezurilon, sed sur la lampingon; kaj ĝi lumas sur ĉiujn, kiuj estas en la domo.
16 In like manner let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Tiel same via lumo lumu antaŭ homoj, por ke ili vidu viajn bonajn farojn, kaj gloru vian Patron, kiu estas en la ĉielo.
17 Think not that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfill.
Ne pensu, ke mi venis, por detrui la leĝon aŭ la profetojn; mi venis, ne por detrui, sed por plenumi.
18 For truly do I say to you, Not till heaven and earth pass away, shall one jot or one tittle pass from the Law, till all be fulfilled.
Vere mi diras al vi: Ĝis la ĉielo kaj la tero forpasos, nek unu joto nek unu streketo forpasos de la leĝo, ĝis ĉio plenumiĝos.
19 Whoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, will be called the least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever shall do and teach them, he will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Tial, kiu malobservos unu el ĉi tiuj plej malgrandaj ordonoj kaj tiel instruos homojn, tiu estos nomata la plej malgranda en la regno de la ĉielo; sed kiu faros ilin kaj instruos, tiu estos nomata granda en la regno de la ĉielo.
20 For I say to you, Unless your righteousness shall exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees, ye will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Ĉar mi diras al vi, ke se via justeco ne superos la justecon de la skribistoj kaj la Fariseoj, vi tute ne eniros en la regnon de la ĉielo.
21 Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, “Thou shalt not kill; and whoever shall kill, shall be in danger of the Judges.”
Vi aŭdis, ke estas dirite al la antikvuloj: Ne mortigu, kaj kiu mortigos, tiu estos en danĝero de juĝado;
22 But I say to you, that whoever is angry with his brother shall be in danger of the Judges; and whoever shall say to his brother, Simpleton! shall be in danger of the Council; and whoever shall say, Fool! shall be in danger of hell-fire. (Geenna g1067)
sed mi diras al vi, ke kiu koleras kontraŭ sia frato, tiu estos en danĝero de juĝado; kaj kiu diros al sia frato: Raka, tiu estos en danĝero de la sinedrio; kaj kiu diros: Malsaĝulo, tiu estos en danĝero de Gehena de fajro. (Geenna g1067)
23 Therefore, if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there remember that thy brother hath aught against thee,
Tial, se vi prezentas vian oferon ĉe la altaro, kaj tie memoras, ke via frato havas ion kontraŭ vi,
24 leave there thy gift before the altar, and go away; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
lasu tie vian oferon antaŭ la altaro, kaj foriru, unue paciĝu kun via frato, kaj poste venu kaj prezentu vian oferon.
25 Agree with thine adversary at law quickly, while thou art on the road with him; lest the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
Konsentu rapide kun via kontraŭulo, dum vi estas kun li sur la vojo, por ke la kontraŭulo ne transdonu vin al la juĝisto, kaj la juĝisto al la subulo, kaj por ke vi ne estu ĵetita en malliberejon.
26 Truly do I say to thee, Thou wilt not come out thence, till thou hast paid the last farthing.
Vere mi diras al vi, ke vi neniel eliros el tie, ĝis vi pagos la lastan kodranton.
27 Ye have heard that it was said, “Thou shalt not commit adultery.”
Vi aŭdis, ke estas dirite: Ne adultu;
28 But I say to you, that whoever looketh on a woman to lust after her, hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
sed mi diras al vi, ke ĉiu, kiu rigardas virinon, por deziri ŝin, jam adultis je ŝi en sia koro.
29 And if thy right eye cause thee to offend, pluck it out, and cast it from thee; for it is better for thee that one of thy members should perish, than that thy whole body should be cast into hell. (Geenna g1067)
Kaj se via dekstra okulo faligas vin, elŝiru kaj forĵetu ĝin; ĉar estus pli bone por vi, se unu el viaj membroj pereus, ol se via tuta korpo estus ĵetita en Gehenan. (Geenna g1067)
30 And if thy right hand cause thee to offend, cut it off, and cast it from thee; for it is better for thee that one of thy members should perish, than that thy whole body should go away into hell. (Geenna g1067)
Kaj se via dekstra mano faligas vin, detranĉu kaj forĵetu ĝin; ĉar estus pli bone por vi, se unu el viaj membroj pereus, ol se via tuta korpo irus en Gehenan. (Geenna g1067)
31 And it was said, “Whoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement.”
Estas ankaŭ dirite: Kiu forsendos sian edzinon, tiu donu al ŝi eksedzigan leteron;
32 But I say to you, that whoever putteth away his wife, unless it be on account of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery; and whoever shall marry her when put away, committeth adultery.
sed mi diras al vi, ke ĉiu, kiu forsendas sian edzinon, krom pro malĉasteco, igas ŝin adulti; kaj kiu edziĝos kun forsenditino, tiu adultas.
33 Again ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, “Thou shalt not swear falsely, but shalt perform to the Lord thine oaths.”
Plue, vi aŭdis, ke estas dirite al la antikvuloj: Ne rompu ĵurojn, sed plenumu viajn ĵurojn antaŭ la Eternulo;
34 But I say to you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;
sed mi diras al vi: Tute ne ĵuru; nek per la ĉielo, ĉar ĝi estas la trono de Dio;
35 nor by the earth, for it is his footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King;
nek per la tero, ĉar ĝi estas la benketo de Liaj piedoj; nek per Jerusalem, ĉar ĝi estas urbo de la granda Reĝo.
36 nor shalt thou swear by thy head, for thou canst not make one hair white or black.
Nek ĵuru per via kapo, ĉar vi ne povas fari eĉ unu haron blanka aŭ nigra.
37 But let your language be, Yea, yea; Nay; nay; for whatever is more than these cometh of evil.
Sed via parolo estu: Jes, jes, ne, ne; ĉio ekster tio estas el malbono.
38 Ye have heard that it was said, “An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.”
Vi aŭdis, ke estas dirite: Okulon pro okulo, kaj denton pro dento;
39 But I say to you, that ye resist not the evil-doer; but whoever smiteth thee on the right cheek, turn to him the other also;
sed mi diras al vi: Ne rezistu al malbono; sed al tiu, kiu frapas vian dekstran vangon, turnu ankaŭ la alian.
40 and if any one intends to sue thee at the law, and take thy coat, give up to him thy cloak also;
Kaj se iu deziras procesi kontraŭ vi, por forpreni vian tunikon, lasu lin preni ankaŭ vian mantelon.
41 and whoever shall compel thee to go one mile, go with him two.
Kaj se iu devigas vin iri unu mejlon, iru kun li du.
42 Give to him that asketh of thee; and from him that would borrow of thee, turn not away.
Donu al tiu, kiu petas de vi; kaj ne deturnu vin de tiu, kiu deziras prunti de vi.
43 Ye have heard that it was said, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy.”
Vi aŭdis, ke estas dirite: Amu vian proksimulon, kaj malamu vian malamikon;
44 But I say to you, Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you;
sed mi diras al vi: Amu viajn malamikojn, kaj preĝu por viaj persekutantoj;
45 that ye may become sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
por ke vi estu filoj de via Patro, kiu estas en la ĉielo; ĉar Li levas Sian sunon sur la malbonulojn kaj bonulojn, kaj sendas pluvon sur la justulojn kaj la maljustulojn.
46 For if ye love those who love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same?
Ĉar se vi amas tiujn, kiuj amas vin, kian rekompencon vi havas? ĉu ne tion saman faras eĉ la impostistoj?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye that excelleth? Do not even the heathen the same?
Kaj se vi salutas nur sole viajn fratojn, kion ekstran vi faras? ĉu ne tion saman faras eĉ la nacianoj?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Estu do perfektaj, kiel ankaŭ via ĉiela Patro estas perfekta.
