Matthew 4
1 Then was Jesus led up by the Spirit into the wilderness, to be tempted by the Devil.
೧ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಸೈತಾನನಿಂದ ಶೋಧಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದೇವರಾತ್ಮನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಅಡವಿಗೆ ನಡೆಸಿದನು.
2 And when he had tasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward hungry.
೨ಆತನು ನಲವತ್ತು ದಿನ ಹಗಲಿರುಳು ಉಪವಾಸವಿದ್ದ ತರುವಾಯ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಹಸಿವಾಯಿತು.
3 And the tempter came and said to him, If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones become loaves of bread.
೩ಆಗ ಸೈತಾನನು ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, “ನೀನು ದೇವರ ಮಗನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಈ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳಿಗೆ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗುವಂತೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು,
4 But he answered and said, It is written, “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God.”
೪ಯೇಸು, “‘ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ತಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರದಿಂದ ಬದುಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ನುಡಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಬದುಕುವನು’ ಎಂದು ಬರೆದಿದೆ” ಅಂದನು.
5 Then the Devil taketh him into the holy city, and setteth him on the pinnacle of the temple;
೫ಆಗ ಸೈತಾನನು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಗೋಪುರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ
6 and saith to him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down; for it is written, “He will give his angels charge concerning thee; and in their hands they will bear thee up, that thou mayst not dash thy foot against a stone.”
೬ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ದೇವರ ಮಗನೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಕೆಳಕ್ಕೆ ದುಮುಕು; ‘ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ದೂತರಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡುವನು; ನಿನ್ನ ಕಾಲು ಕಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ತಗಲದಂತೆ ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೈಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು’ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಬರೆದಿದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
7 Jesus said to him, Again it is written, “Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God.”
೭ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು, “ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಬಾರದು ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿಯೂ ಬರೆದಿದೆ” ಅಂದನು.
8 Again, the Devil taketh him m an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory;
೮ಬಳಿಕ ಸೈತಾನನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಬಹಳ ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ಬೆಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಪ್ರಪಂಚದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅವುಗಳ ವೈಭವವನ್ನೂ ಆತನಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಿ,
9 and said to him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
೯ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸಿದರೆ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಡುವೆನು” ಅಂದನು.
10 Then saith Jesus to him, Be gone, Satan! for it is written, “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”
೧೦ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಸೈತಾನನೇ, ನೀನು ತೊಲಗಿ ಹೋಗು. ‘ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಆರಾಧಿಸಬೇಕು ಆತನೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನೇ ಸೇವಿಸಬೇಕು’ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಬರೆದಿದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
11 Then the Devil leaveth him; and lo! angels came and ministered to him.
೧೧ಆಗ ಸೈತಾನನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದನು, ಆಗ ದೇವದೂತರು ಬಂದು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಉಪಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
12 Now when Jesus heard that John had been cast into prison, he withdrew into Galilee.
೧೨ಯೋಹಾನನು ಸೆರೆಯಾದನು ಎಂದು ಯೇಸು ಕೇಳಿ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ಸೀಮೆಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದನು.
13 And leaving Nazara, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, on the shore of the lake, in the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali;
೧೩ಬಳಿಕ ನಜರೇತೆಂಬ ಊರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಜೆಬುಲೋನ್ ಮತ್ತು ನಫ್ತಾಲಿಯರ ಗಡಿ ನಾಡುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಹತ್ತಿರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕಪೆರ್ನೌಮೆಂಬ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸತೊಡಗಿದನು.
14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
೧೪ಇದರಿಂದ ಯೆಶಾಯನೆಂಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಹೇಳಿರುವ ಮಾತು ನೆರವೇರಿತು; ಆ ಮಾತು ಏನೆಂದರೆ,
15 “The land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali, by the way of the lake beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles,
೧೫“ಜೆಬುಲೋನ್ ಸೀಮೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಫ್ತಾಲಿ ಸೀಮೆ, ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ಆಚೆ, ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಕಡೆಗಿರುವ ಸೀಮೆ, ಅನ್ಯಜನಗಳಿರುವ ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ಸೀಮೆ,
16 the people that sat in darkness, saw a great light; and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death, light arose.”
೧೬ಹೀಗೆ ಕತ್ತಲಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿದ ಈ ಸೀಮೆಯ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಮಹಾ ಬೆಳಕು ಕಾಣಿಸಿತು; ಮರಣದ ಛಾಯೆ ನೆರೆದ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ ಬೆಳಕು ಉದಯವಾಯಿತು” ಎಂಬುದು.
17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
೧೭ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಯೇಸು, “ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಪಡಿರಿ ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಸಮೀಪಿಸಿತು” ಎಂದು ಸಾರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು.
18 And while walking by the lake of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the lake; for they were fishers.
೧೮ಯೇಸು ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದು ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ಪೇತ್ರನೆನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸೀಮೋನ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಅಂದ್ರೆಯನು ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲೆಬೀಸುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡನು; ಅವರು ಬೆಸ್ತರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
19 And he saith to them, Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.
೧೯ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆತನು, “ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿರಿ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವ ಬೆಸ್ತರನ್ನಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಲೇ,
20 And they immediately left their nets, and followed him.
೨೦ತಕ್ಷಣ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಬಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರು.
21 And going on from thence, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
೨೧ಯೇಸು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಇನ್ನಿಬ್ಬರು ಅಣ್ಣ ತಮ್ಮಂದಿರನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ ಜೆಬೆದಾಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾಕೋಬನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನನ್ನೂ ಕಂಡನು; ಇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಜೆಬೆದಾಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ದೋಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಬಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಿಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕರೆದನು.
22 And they immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.
೨೨ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅವರು ದೋಣಿಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ತಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರು.
23 And he went round the whole of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the glad tidings of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
೨೩ಬಳಿಕ ಯೇಸು ಗಲಿಲಾಯದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಚರಿಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯವರ ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪದೇಶ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಜನರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ತರದ ರೋಗಗಳನ್ನೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ತರದ ಬೇನೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ವಾಸಿಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದನು.
24 And his fame went forth into all Syria; and they brought to him all that were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were possessed by demons, and lunatics, and those who were struck with palsy; and he healed them.
೨೪ಆತನ ಸುದ್ದಿಯು ಸಿರಿಯಾದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹಬ್ಬಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರಾದವರನ್ನು, ಅಂದರೆ ನಾನಾ ರೀತಿಯ ರೋಗಗಳಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ವೇದನೆಗಳಿಂದ ಕಷ್ಟಪಡುವವರನ್ನೂ, ದೆವ್ವಹಿಡಿದವರನ್ನೂ ಮೂರ್ಛಾರೋಗಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವವಾಯುವಿನವರನ್ನೂ ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರತಂದರು; ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಮಾಡಿದನು.
25 And great multitudes followed him from Galilee and Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judaea, and from beyond the Jordan.
೨೫ಗಲಿಲಾಯ, ದೆಕಪೊಲಿ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮ್, ಯೂದಾಯ ಎಂಬೀ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ಹೊಳೆಯ ಆಚೇ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಜನರು ಗುಂಪುಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರು.
