Matthew 26
1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, that he said to his disciples,
Y cuando Jesús hubo terminado todas estas palabras, dijo a sus discípulos:
2 Ye know that after two days cometh the passover; and the Son of man is delivered up to be crucified.
Dentro de dos días es la Pascua, y el Hijo del hombre será entregado para ser crucificado.
3 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the court of the palace of the high-priest, named Caiaphas;
Entonces los principales sacerdotes y los escribas y los ancianos del pueblo se juntaron en la casa del sumo sacerdote, que se llamaba Caifás.
4 and took counsel together that they might seize Jesus by craft, and put him to death.
E hicieron planes juntos para arrestar a Jesús con engaños y matarlo.
5 But they said, Not at the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people.
Pero ellos dijeron: No durante la fiesta, para que no se alborote la gente.
6 Now when Jesus was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
Cuando Jesús estaba en Betania, en casa de Simón el leproso,
7 there came to him a woman having an alabaster bottle of very costly ointment, and poured it on his head while he was reclining at table.
Vino a él una mujer que tenía una botella de perfume muy costoso, y ella le puso el perfume sobre la cabeza cuando estaba sentado a la mesa.
8 But the disciples seeing it, were much displeased, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
Pero cuando los discípulos lo vieron, se enojaron, diciendo: ¿Para qué se desperdicia esto?
9 For this might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
Porque pudo haberse vendido por mucho dinero y dárselo a los pobres.
10 And Jesus, perceiving it, said to them, Why do ye trouble the woman? For she hath done a good deed to me.
Pero al ver Jesús, les dijo: ¿Por qué molestas a la mujer? ella me ha hecho un acto amable.
11 For the poor ye have always with you; but me ye have not always.
Porque a los pobres siempre los tendrán con ustedes, pero a mí no siempre me tendrán.
12 For she, in pouring this ointment on my body, hath done it to prepare me for burial.
Porque al poner este perfume en mi cuerpo, lo hizo para prepararme para mi sepultura.
13 Truly do I say to you, Wherever these glad tidings shall be published in the whole world, this too which she hath done will be told for a memorial of her.
De cierto, de cierto les digo: Dondequiera que se divulguen estás buenas nuevas en todo el mundo, se hablará de lo que hizo esta mujer en memoria de ella.
14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests,
Entonces uno de los doce, que se llamaba Judas Iscariote, fue a los principales sacerdotes,
15 and said, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him up to you? And they paid him thirty pieces of silver.
Y les dijo: ¿Qué me darán, si les entrego a Jesus? Y ellos señalaron el precio en treinta monedas de plata.
16 And from that time he sought an opportunity to deliver him up.
Y a partir de ese momento él estaba esperando la oportunidad de entregarlo en sus manos.
17 And on the first of the days of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Where wilt thou that we make ready for thee to eat the passover?
El primer día de los panes sin levadura, los discípulos se acercaron a Jesús y le dijeron: ¿Dónde debemos preparar para que comas la Pascua?
18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say to him, The Teacher saith, My time is at hand; I keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.
Y él les dijo: vayan a la ciudad de cierto hombre, y dile: El Maestro dice: Mi tiempo está cerca: celebraré la pascua en tu casa con mis discípulos.
19 And the disciples did as Jesus directed them, and made ready the passover.
Y los discípulos hicieron como Jesús les había dicho; y prepararon la Pascua.
20 And when evening came, he took his place at table with the twelve disciples.
Cuando llegó la noche, estaba sentado a la mesa con los doce discípulos;
21 And as they were eating, he said, Truly do I say to you, that one of you will betray me.
Y mientras comían, dijo: De cierto les digo que alguno de ustedes me va a traicionar.
22 And they were exceedingly sorrowful, and began every one to say to him, Is it I, Lord?
Y entristecidos en gran manera empezaron a preguntar un tras otro: ¿Soy yo, Señor?
23 And he answering said, He that hath dipped his hand with me in the dish, he will betray me.
Y él respondió y dijo: El que mete su mano en el plato conmigo, me traicionara.
24 The Son of man indeed goeth away, as it hath been written concerning him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! Well were it for that man if he had not been born.
A la verdad, el Hijo del Hombre va, como dicen las Escrituras acerca de él; pero la maldición está sobre aquel hombre por quien el Hijo del Hombre es entregado; hubiera sido bueno para ese hombre si nunca hubiera nacido.
25 Then Judas, his betrayer, answering said, Is it I, Rabbi? He saith to him, It is.
Y Judas, él que lo entregaba, respondió y dijo: ¿Soy yo, Maestro? Él le dice: tú lo has dicho.
26 And, as they were eating, Jesus took a loaf, and having blessed, broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
Cuando estaban comiendo, Jesús tomó pan y, después de bendecirlo, les dio el pan partido a los discípulos y les dijo: Tómalo; este es mi cuerpo.
27 And he took a cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
Y tomando una copa, bendiciendo, se las dio, diciendo:
28 for this is my blood of the covenant, which is shed for many for remission of sins.
Tomen todos, porque esta es mi sangre de nuevo pacto, que es dada a los hombres para el perdón de sus pecados.
29 And I say to you, I shall not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in the kingdom of my Father.
Pero yo os digo que de ahora en adelante no tomaré de este fruto de la vid, hasta el día en que beba con ustedes él vino nuevo en el reino de mi Padre.
30 And having sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
Y después de un canto de alabanza a Dios, salieron al monte de los Olivos.
31 Then Jesus saith to them, This night will all of you fall away from me; for it is written, “I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.”
Entonces Jesús les dijo: Todos ustedes se apartaran de mí esta noche; porque está dicho en las Escrituras: Daré muerte al pastor de las ovejas, y las ovejas del rebaño serán dispersadas.
32 But after I have risen, I will go before you into Galilee.
Pero después que haya resucitado de entre los muertos, iré delante de ustedes a Galilea.
33 Peter answering said to him, Though all should fall away from thee, yet will I never fall away.
Entonces Pedro respondió, y le dijo: Aunque todos te nieguen, yo nunca te negaré.
34 Jesus said to him, Truly do I say to thee, that this night, before a cock crows, thou wilt thrice deny me.
Jesús le dijo: De cierto te digo que esta noche, antes de la hora del grito del gallo, dirás tres veces que no me conoces.
35 Peter saith to him, Even if I must die with thee, I will not deny thee. And so said all the disciples.
Pedro le responde: Aunque me maten contigo, no te negaré. Así lo dijeron todos los discípulos.
36 Then Jesus cometh with them to a place called Gethsemane, and saith to the disciples, Sit here, while I go yonder and pray.
Luego viene Jesús con ellos a un lugar llamado Getsemaní, y les dice a sus discípulos: “Siéntense aquí, mientras yo voy allí a orar”.
37 And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to he sorrowful and full of anguish.
Y tomó consigo a Pedro y a los dos hijos de Zebedeo, y se entristeció y se turbó en gran manera.
38 Then he saith to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.
Entonces él les dice: Mi alma está muy triste, hasta la muerte; velen conmigo aquí.
39 And he came a little nearer, and fell on his face, praying and saying, Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me! nevertheless, not as I will, but as Thou wilt.
Y él se adelantó un poco, y postrándose en su rostro en oración, dijo: Padre mío, si es posible, pase de mí esta copa; pero no sea como yo quiero, sino como tu quieras.
40 And he cometh to the disciples, and findeth them sleeping, and saith to Peter, Is it so that ye could not watch with me one hour?
Y vino a los discípulos, y los ve que están durmiendo, y dice a Pedro: ¿Qué? ¿No pudiste velar conmigo una hora?
41 Watch, and pray that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Velen y oren, para que no entren a prueba: el espíritu verdaderamente está listo, pero la carne es débil.
42 Again he went away a second time, and prayed, saying, My Father, if this [[cup]] cannot pass away from me, but I must drink it, thy will be done!
Una vez más, se fue por segunda vez, y dijo en oración: Padre mío, si esto no puede pasar de mí sin que yo lo tome, que se haga tu voluntad.
43 And coming again he found them sleeping; for their eyes were heavy.
Y vino otra vez y los vio durmiendo, porque sus ojos estaban cansados.
44 And leaving them, he went away again, and prayed the third time, saying again the same words.
Y se fue de ellos otra vez, y una tercera vez dijo la misma oración.
45 Then he cometh to the disciples, and saith to them, Sleep on, and take your rest! Lo! the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is delivered up into the hands of sinners.
Entonces él viene a los discípulos; y les dice: Duerman ahora, y descansen: porque la hora ha llegado, y el Hijo del hombre es entregado en manos de hombres malos.
46 Rise, let us be going; lo! he is at hand that delivereth me up.
Arriba, vayamos: mira, el que me traiciona está cerca.
47 And while he was yet speaking, lo! Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
Mientras él aún hablaba, vino Judas, uno de los doce, y con él una banda armada con espadas y palos, de parte de los principales sacerdotes y de los ancianos del pueblo.
48 And his betrayer had given them a sign, saying, Whomever I shall kiss, he is the man; seize him.
Ahora el que lo entregaba les había dado una señal que decía: Aquel a quien doy un beso, ése es él: arrestenlo.
49 And immediately going up to Jesus, he said, Hail, Rabbi! and kissed him.
Y enseguida vino a Jesús y le dijo: ¡Maestro! y le dio un beso.
50 And Jesus said to him, Friend, for what hast thou come! Then they came and laid hands on Jesus, and seized him.
Y Jesús le dijo: Amigo, haz aquello por lo que has venido. Luego vinieron y pusieron sus manos sobre Jesús, y lo arrestaron.
51 And, lo! one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high-priest, and cut off his ear.
Y uno de los que estaban con Jesús extendió su mano, y sacó su espada, y le dio un golpe al siervo del sumo sacerdote, y le cortó la oreja.
52 Then Jesus saith to him, Put back thy sword into its place; for all they that take the sword will perish by the sword.
Entonces Jesús le dice: Vuelve a poner tu espada en su lugar; porque todos los que tomen la espada, morirán a espada.
53 Dost thou think that I cannot pray to my Father, and he will now give me more than twelve legions of angels?
¿No te parece posible que si le ruego a mi Padre, incluso ahora me envíe doce legiones de ángeles?
54 But how then shall the Scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
¿Pero cómo se cumplirian las Escrituras, que dicen que así debe ser?
55 In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, Ye have come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take me; I sat daily teaching in the temple, and ye did not lay hands on me.
En esa hora, Jesús dijo a la gente: ¿Has salido como un ladrón con espadas y palos para llevarme? Yo enseñaba todos los días en el Templo y tú no me llevabas.
56 But all this hath been done, that the Scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
Pero todo esto ha sucedido para que las escrituras de los profetas se hagan realidad. Entonces todos sus discípulos dejándole huyeron.
57 And they who seized Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high-priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
Y los que habían hecho prisionero a Jesús lo llevaron a la casa de Caifás, el sumo sacerdote, donde los escribas y los que tenían autoridad sobre el pueblo se habían reunido.
58 But Peter followed him at a distance, as far as to the court of the high-priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the officers to see the end.
Pero Pedro lo siguió a lo lejos, a la casa del sumo sacerdote, y entró y se sentó con los criados para ver el fin.
59 And the chief priests and the whole council sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
Y los principales sacerdotes y todo el Sanedrín buscaban falso testimonio contra Jesús, para que lo mataran;
60 and they found none, though many false witnesses came forward. But at last came two,
Y no lo hallaron, aunque vinieron varios testigos falsos.
61 and said, This man affirmed, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it within three days.
Pero luego vinieron dos que dijeron: Este dijo: Yo puedo destruir el templo de Dios y reedificar en tres días.
62 And the high-priest arose, and said to him, Dost thou make no answer to what these men testify against thee?
Entonces el sumo sacerdote se levantó y le dijo: ¿No tienes respuesta? ¿Qué es lo que estos dicen contra ti?
63 But Jesus was silent. And the high-priest answering said to him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son of God.
Pero Jesús no dijo una palabra. Y el sumo sacerdote le dijo: Te juro por el Dios viviente que nos digas si eres el Cristo, el Hijo de Dios.
64 Jesus saith to him, I am. Moreover I say to you, Henceforth ye will see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.
Jesús le dice: Tú lo dices; pero yo les digo: Desde ahora verán al Hijo del hombre sentado a la diestra del poder de Dios y viniendo sobre las nubes del cielo.
65 Then the high-priest rent his garments, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? See! ye have now heard the blasphemy.
Entonces el sumo sacerdote, partiéndose violentamente sus vestiduras, dijo: Dijo mal contra Dios: ¿qué más necesidad tenemos de testigos? porque ahora han llegado a sus oídos sus palabras contra Dios:
66 What think ye? They answered and said, He should be punished with death.
¿Cuál es su opinión? Respondieron y dijeron: “Está bien que lo maten”.
67 Then they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and some smote him with the palms of their hands,
Entonces le escupieron en el rostro, le dieron de puñetazo y otros le abofeteaban, avergonzaron, diciendo:
68 saying, Prophesy to us, O Messiah! who it was that struck thee.
¡Sé profeta, oh Cristo, y di quien te dio un golpe!
69 Now Peter was sitting outside in the court. And a maid-servant came to him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus the Galilaean.
Y Pedro estaba sentado en la plaza abierta fuera de la casa; y una criada se le acercó, y le dijo: Tú estabas con Jesús el Galileo.
70 But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.
Pero Pedro lo negó delante de todos, diciendo: no sé lo que dices.
71 And when he had gone out into the porch, another woman saw him, and said to those who were there, This man was with Jesus the Nazarene.
Y cuando salió a la puerta, otra lo vio y dijo a los que estaban allí: Este hombre estaba con Jesús el Nazareno.
72 And again he denied with an oath; I do not know the man.
Y otra vez dijo con un juramento, no conozco al hombre.
73 And shortly after, they who were standing by came and said to Peter, Surely thou too art one of them; for thy speech betrayeth thee.
Y pasado un tiempo, los que estaban cerca vinieron y dijeron a Pedro: Verdaderamente tú eres uno de ellos; porque tu acento te descubre.
74 Then he began to curse and to swear, saying, I do not know the man. And immediately a cock crew.
Luego, con maldiciones y juramentos, dijo: No conozco al hombre. Y de inmediato vino el grito de un gallo.
75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, who had said, Before a cock crows, thou wilt thrice deny me. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
Y la palabra de Jesús regresó a Pedro, cuando dijo: Antes de la hora del grito del gallo, dirás tres veces que no me conoces. Y salió, llorando amargamente.
