< Matthew 13 >

1 The same day Jesus went out of the house, and sat by the shore of the lake;
He gallas Yesuusi sooppe keyidi abbaa gaxan uttis.
2 and great multitudes were gathered together to him, so that he went into a boat, and sat down; and all the multitude stood on the beach.
Daro derey iya yuushuwan shiiqin asaa abbaa gaxan aggaagidi wogolon gelidi uttis.
3 And he spoke many things to them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow.
Asaas darobaa leemisora yaagidi odis; “Issi goshshanchchoy zerethi zeranaw keyis.
4 And as he sowed, some seeds fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them.
I zeriya wode issi issi zerethati oge gaxan wodhdhidosona; enttaka kafoti yidi maxi midosona.
5 And others fell upon rocky places, where they had not much earth; and they sprung up immediately, because they had no depth of earth.
Issi issi zerethati garssan shaalloy de7iya biitta bolla wodhdhidosona. Daro biitti baynna gisho ellesidi dolis.
6 But when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
Shin away keyin shullis; xaphoy baynna gisho melis.
7 And others fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up, and choked them.
Issi issi zerethay aguntha giddon wodhdhis; agunthay diccidi he dolaa cuullis.
8 And others fell upon good ground; and yielded fruit, some a hundred fold, some Sixty, some thirty fold.
Harati qassi aradda biitta bolla wodhdhis; dolidi ayfe ayfis. Issoy xeeta, issoy usuppun tamma, issoy qassi hasttama ayfis.
9 He that hath ears, let him hear.
Si7iya haythi de7iya uray si7o” yaagis.
10 And the disciples came and said to him, Why dost thou speak to them in parables?
Yesuusa tamaareti iyaakko shiiqidi, “Ays neeni deriyas leemisora oday?” yaagidi oychchidosona.
11 He answered and said, Because to you it hath been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven; but to them it hath not been given.
I zaaridi, “Hinttew salo kawotethaa xuuraa eray imettis, shin enttaw imettibeenna.
12 For whoever hath, to him will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever hath not, from him will be taken away even what he hath.
De7iya ubbaas guzhettana, iyaw darana, shin baynnayssafe hari attoshin iyaw de7iyarakka ekettana.
13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, nor understand.
Hessa gisho, taani entti, xeellishe demmonna mela, si7ishe si7onna mela woykko akeekonna mela enttaw leemison odays.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, “Ye will hear indeed, and not understand; and ye will see indeed, and not perceive.
“Isayaasi ba maxaafan odidayssi entta bolla polettis. I odishe, ‘Hintte sissaa si7eeta, shin akeekekketa; hintte xeelleta, shin be7ekketa.
15 For this people's heart hath become gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn from their ways, and I should heal them.”
Ays giikko, ha asaa wozanay zel77umis; bantta haythaa erishe tullisidosona, bantta ayfiyaa goozidosona. Hessi baynneeko entti bantta ayfiyaan be7idi, bantta haythan si7idi, bantta wozanan akeekidi, taakko simmana, takka entta pathanashin’ yaagis.
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.
“Shin hintte ayfeti be7iya gishonne hintte haythati si7iya gisho hintte anjjettidayssata.
17 Truly do I say to you, that many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things which ye see, and did not see them; and to hear the things which ye hear, and did not hear them.
Ta hinttew tuma odays; daro nabetinne xilloti hintte be7eyssa be7anawunne hintte si7eyssa si7anaw amottidosona, shin enttaw hanibeenna.
18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
“Hiza, ha zerethaa zeriya uraa leemisuwa si7ite.
19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, the Evil One cometh, and snatcheth away that which was sown in his heart; this man is what was sown by the wayside.
Oge gaxan wodhdhida zerethaa leemisoy hayssa: salo kawotethaa qaala si7idi akeekonna uraa wozanappe Xalahey yidi iya wozanan de7iya zerethaa maxi digees.
20 And what was sown on the rocky places, this is he that heareth the word, and immediately receiveth it with joy,
Shaalloy garssan de7iya biitta bolla zerettidayssi qaala si7idi ellesidi ufaysan ekkeyssata.
21 but, having no root within him, endureth only for a time; and when tribulation or persecution ariseth on account of the word, he immediately falleth away.
Shin xapho yeddanaw dandda7onna gisho daro gam77okona. Qaala gaason metoy woykko goodetethi yaa wode ellesi dhubettoosona.
22 And what was sown among the thorns, this is he that heareth the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. (aiōn g165)
Aguntha gaathan zerettidayssi qaala si7is, shin ha alamiya duussaa hirggaynne duretetha qofay qaala cuulliya gisho ayfe ayfonna attees. (aiōn g165)
23 And what was sown on the good ground, this is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; who also beareth fruit, and yieldeth, one a hundred fold, another sixty, another thirty fold.
Shin aradda biittan zerettida zerethay akeekan qaala si7iya uraa. I ayfe ayfees; issoy xeeta, issoy usuppun tamma issoy qassi hasttama ayfees” yaagis.
24 Another parable he put forth to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.
Yesuusi enttaw hara leemiso odis, “Xoossaa kawotethay ba goshshan lo77o zerethi zerida uraa daanees.
25 But while men slept, his enemy came, and sowed tares among the wheat; and went away.
Shin asi ubbay dhiskkin iya morkkey yidi gisttiya giddon leeshsho zeridi bis.
26 But when the blade grew up, and put forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
Gisttey diccidi ayfiyaa wode leeshshoy iya giddon benttis.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said to him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? Whence then hath it tares?
“Gadiya godaa aylleti godaakko bidi, ‘Godaw, ne goshshan ne lo77o zerethi zerabikkishsho? Yaatin, leeshshoy awuppe yidee?’ yaagidosona.
28 He said to them, An enemy did this. The servants say to him, Dost thou wish then that we go and gather them up?
“I enttako, ‘Hessa morkkey oothis’ yaagis. “Aylleti godaakko, ‘Nu bidi leeshshuwa shoddana mela koyay?’ yaagidosona.
29 But he said, Nay; lest, while ye gather up the tares, ye root up the wheat with them.
“Shin I, ‘Atto bochchofite; hintte leeshshuwa shoddays gishin gisttey shodettana.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest; and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather up first the tares, and bind them in bundles, to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn.
Bochchofite; caka wodey gakkanaw issife dicco. He wode cakkiya asata leeshshuwa sinthattidi maxidi taman xuugganaw mirqen mirqen qachchite. Shin gisttiya shiishidi ta shaaliyan qolite’ yaagana” yaagis.
31 Another parable he put forth to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard, which a man took and sowed in his field.
Qassi hara leemiso yaagidi odis; “Salo kawotethay issi asi ba goshshan bakkida guutha mithee ayfe daanees.
32 Which is the least indeed of all seeds; but when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches.
He mithee ayfey hara mitha ayfetappe guutha, shin iya dolaa diccida hara mithata ubbaafe aadhdha gitatawusu. I tashiyan kafoti keexidi uttana gakkanaw wolqqaama mithi gidawusu” yaagis.
33 Another parable he spoke to them: The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
Kaallidikka, Yesuusi hara leemiso odis; “Salo kawotethay issi maccasi heedzu gabate dhiille ekka munuqada, munuqay denddana mela iyan gujjida irshsho daanees” yaagis.
34 All these things Jesus spoke to the multitudes in parables, and without a parable he spoke nothing to them;
Yesuusi deriyas he ubbaa leemisuwa odis. Leemisoy baynna issibaakka odibeenna.
35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet Isaiah, saying, “I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the foundation [[of the world]].”
Nabey ba maxaafan, “Taani ta doona, leemison dooyana; saloynne sa7ay medhettosappe, geemmidayssa odays” yaagidi odidayssi hessan polettis.
36 Then he sent the multitudes away, and went into the house. And his disciples came to him, saying, Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.
Yesuusi deriya moyzidi soo gelis. Iya tamaareti iyaakko shiiqidi, “Goshshan de7iya leeshshuwa birshshethaa nuus oda” yaagidosona.
37 He answered and said, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man.
I zaaridi, “Lo77o zerethaa zeriday Asa Na7a.
38 The field is the world; the good seed is the sons of the kingdom; but the tares are the sons of the Evil One;
Goshshay ha alamiya. Lo77o zerethay salo kawotethaa nayta. Leeshshoy Xalahe nayta.
39 the enemy that sowed them is the Devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are angels. (aiōn g165)
Leeshshuwa zeriday morkkiya Xalahe. Caka wodey, wodiya wurssethaa. Cakkeyssati kiitanchchota. (aiōn g165)
40 As therefore the tares are gathered up and burned with fire, so will it be at the end of the world. (aiōn g165)
“Leeshshoy maxettidi taman xuugetteyssa mela wodiya wurssethan hessada hanana. (aiōn g165)
41 The Son of man will send forth his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all the stumbling-blocks, and those who do iniquity,
Asa Na7ay ba kiitanchchota kiittana. Entti nagaras gaaso gideyssatanne iita oothiya ubbaa maxidi iya kawotethaafe kessana.
42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire; there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Maxi shiishidi yeehoynne achcha garccethi de7iya to7onna taman yeggana.
43 Then will the righteous shine forth as the sun, in the kingdom of their Father. He that hath ears, let him hear.
He wode xilloti bantta Aawa kawotethan awada poo7ana. Si7iya haythi de7ey si7o!
44 The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hid in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy thereof he goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
“Xoossaa kawotethay goshshan moogettida miishe daanees. Issi asi he miishiya demmidi zaari moogis. Daro ufayttidi bidi baw de7iyaba ubbaa bayzidi he goshsha gadiya shammis.
45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking goodly pearls.
“Hessadakka, qassi salo kawotethay inqo giya al77o shuchchata koyaa zal77anchcho daanees.
46 And having found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
Daro al77o inquwa demmidi bidi baw de7iyaba ubbaa bayzidi iya shammis.
47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net, cast into the sea, and bringing together fish of every kind;
“Qassi Xoossaa kawotethay abban yegettida dumma dumma qommo molo oykkiya gitiya daanees.
48 which, when it was full, they drew upon the beach, and sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away.
Molo oykkiya asati moloy gitiyan kumin abbaafe gaxa kessidosona. Yan uttidi lo77uwa qori qori daachcho yeggidosona, shin iita molota wora holidosona.
49 So will it be at the end of the world. The angels will come forth, and separate the wicked from among the righteous, (aiōn g165)
Wodiya wurssethan hessatho hanana. Kiitanchchoti yidi nagaranchchota xillotappe shaakkidi, (aiōn g165)
50 and will cast them into the furnace of fire; there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
yeehoynne achcha garccethi de7iya to7onna taman yeggana.
51 Did ye understand all these things? They say to him, Yea.
“Ha ubbay hinttew gelidee?” yaagidi entta oychchis. Entti zaaridi, “Ee” yaagidosona.
52 And he said to them, Thus then every scribe, instructed for the kingdom of heaven, is like a householder, who bringeth out from his storehouse things new and old.
Yesuusi, “Hiza, salo kawotethaa eraa ekkidi higgiya tamaarssiya ubbay, ba minjjida shaluwappe oorathaanne gal77a kessiya ase daanees” yaagis.
53 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these parables, that he departed thence.
Yesuusi ha leemisuwa odi wurssidaappe guye yaappe denddidi bis.
54 And having come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and the miracles?
Ba yelettida biittaa bidi Ayhude Woosa Keethan deriya tamaarssis. Entti malaalettidi, “Ha uray ha cinccatethaanne ha malaatata oothiya wolqqaa awuppe ekkidee?
55 Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary, and his brothers, James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Judas?
Hayssi anaaxiya na7aa gidenneyye? Iya aaye sunthay Mayraamo gidennee? Iya ishati Yayqooba, Yoosefa, Simoonanne Yihuda gidokkonaayye?
56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?
Iya michcheti nuura de7oosona gidennee? Yaatin, ha uray ha ubbaa awuppe ekkidee?” yaagidosona.
57 And they took offence at him. But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and in his own house.
Hessa gisho, I giyabaa ekkonna ixxidosona. Shin Yesuusi, “Nabey ba yelettida biittaninne ba soo asaa matan bonchchettenna” yaagis.
58 And he did not work many miracles there, because of their unbelief.
Entti ammanonna ixxida gisho daro malaatata he bessan oothibeenna.
