Mark 1
1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ;
Commencement de l'Évangile de Jésus-Christ, Fils de Dieu.
2 as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: “Lo! I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way;”
Conformément à ce qui est écrit dans le prophète Ésaïe: «Je vais envoyer mon messager devant ta face, et il te préparera le chemin.
3 “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths!”
Une voix crie dans le désert: Préparez le chemin du Seigneur, aplanissez ses sentiers». —
4 John the Baptizer appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
Jean parut dans le désert, baptisant et prêchant le baptême de repentance, pour la rémission des péchés.
5 And there went out to him all the country of Judaea, and all they of Jerusalem and were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
Toute la Judée et tous les habitants de Jérusalem allaient à lui, et, confessant leurs péchés, ils étaient baptisés par lui dans les eaux du Jourdain.
6 And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a leathern girdle about his loins, and he ate locusts and wild honey.
Jean avait un vêtement de poil de chameau et une ceinture de cuir autour des reins; il se nourrissait de sauterelles et de miel sauvage.
7 And he preached, saying, There cometh after me one mightier than I, the latchet of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and loose.
Et il prêchait, en disant: Il vient après moi, celui qui est plus puissant que moi; et je ne suis pas digne de délier, en me baissant, la courroie de ses chaussures.
8 I have baptized you with water; but he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.
Moi, je vous ai baptisés d'eau; mais lui, il vous baptisera d'Esprit saint.
9 And it came to pass that in those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
Or, il arriva, en ces jours-là, que Jésus vint de Nazareth, ville de Galilée, et il fut baptisé par Jean dans le Jourdain.
10 And immediately on coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens parted, and the Spirit descending as a dove upon him.
Au moment où il sortait de l'eau, il vit les cieux s'ouvrir et l'Esprit descendre sur lui comme une colombe.
11 And there was a voice from the heavens, “Thou art my beloved Son; with thee I am well pleased.”
Et il vint des cieux une voix qui disait: Tu es mon Fils bien-aimé, en qui j'ai mis toute mon affection.
12 And immediately the Spirit driveth him forth into the wilderness.
Aussitôt l'Esprit poussa Jésus au désert.
13 And he was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him.
Il passa quarante jours dans le désert, tenté par Satan; il était avec les bêtes sauvages, et les anges le servaient.
14 But after John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the glad tidings of God,
Après que Jean eut été mis en prison, Jésus se rendit en Galilée, prêchant l'Évangile de Dieu.
15 [[saying, ]] The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe the glad tidings.
Il disait: Le temps est accompli, et le royaume de Dieu est proche. Repentez-vous et croyez à l'Évangile.
16 And as he was passing along by the lake of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon dragging a net in the lake; for they were fishers.
Comme il marchait le long de la mer de Galilée, il vit Simon et André, son frère, qui jetaient le filet dans la mer; car ils étaient pêcheurs.
17 And Jesus said to them, Come after me, and I will cause you to become fishers of men.
Jésus leur dit: Suivez-moi, et je vous ferai devenir pêcheurs d'hommes.
18 And immediately they left their nets, and followed him.
Aussitôt, laissant leurs filets, ils le suivirent.
19 And going on a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending the nets;
Étant allé un peu plus loin, il vit Jacques, fils de Zébcdce, et Jean son frère, qui étaient aussi dans une barque, raccommodant leurs filets.
20 and immediately he called them. And leaving their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men, they went after him.
Il les appela aussitôt; et, laissant Zébédée leur père dans la barque avec les ouvriers, ils le suivirent.
21 And they enter Capernaum; and immediately on the sabbath he was teaching in the synagogue.
Ensuite ils se rendirent à Capernaüm; et aussitôt, le jour du sabbat, Jésus étant entré dans la synagogue, se mit à y enseigner.
22 And they were astonished at his teaching; for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
On était frappé de son enseignement; car il enseignait comme ayant autorité, et non pas comme les scribes.
23 And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,
Or, il y avait, à ce moment même, dans la synagogue, un homme possédé d'un esprit impur.
24 saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus of Nazareth? Thou hast come to destroy us; we know who thou art, the Holy One of God.
Il s'écria: Qu'y a-t-il entre nous et toi, Jésus de Nazareth? Es-tu venu pour nous perdre? Je sais qui tu es: le Saint de Dieu!
25 And Jesus rebuked him, [[saying, ]] Be silent, and come out of him.
Mais Jésus le reprit sévèrement et lui dit: Tais-toi, et sors de cet homme!
26 And the unclean spirit convulsing him, and crying out with a loud voice, came out of him.
Alors l'esprit impur, le secouant avec violence et poussant un grand cri, sortit de lui.
27 And they were all amazed, so that they questioned each other, saying, What is this? New teaching with authority; even the unclean spirits doth he command, and they obey him!
Ils furent tous dans l'étonnement, de sorte qu'ils se demandaient entre eux: Qu'est-ce que ceci? C'est un enseignement tout nouveau! Celui-là commande avec autorité, même aux esprits impurs, et ils lui obéissent!
28 And immediately his fame spread abroad everywhere through the whole surrounding country of Galilee.
Et sa renommée se répandit aussitôt dans toute la contrée environnante, en Galilée.
29 And having come out of the synagogue, they immediately entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
Dès qu'ils furent sortis de la synagogue, ils vinrent avec Jacques et Jean dans la maison de Simon et d'André.
30 And Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever; and they immediately speak to him about her.
Or, la belle-mère de Simon était au lit, malade de la fièvre; et aussitôt ils lui parlèrent d'elle.
31 And he went to her, and took her by the hand, and raised her up; and the fever left her, and she waited on them.
Alors il s'approcha, et, la prenant par la main, il la fit lever; la fièvre la quitta, et elle se mit à les servir.
32 And in the evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all that were sick, and those who were possessed by demons;
Quand le soir fut venu, après le coucher du soleil, on lui amena tous les malades et les démoniaques.
33 and the whole city was assembled at the door.
Toute la ville était rassemblée devant la porte.
34 And he healed many that were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and he suffered not the demons to speak, because they knew him.
Il guérit plusieurs malades atteints de divers maux, et il chassa plusieurs démons, ne permettant pas aux démons de dire qu'ils le connaissaient.
35 And rising early, long before day, he went out, and withdrew into a desert place, and there prayed.
Le lendemain matin, comme il faisait encore fort obscur, s'étant levé, il sortit et s'en alla dans un lieu écarté; et il y priait.
36 And Simon and those with him went in search of him,
Simon et ceux qui étaient avec lui se mirent à sa recherche.
37 and found him. And they say to him, All people are in search of thee.
L'ayant trouvé, ils lui dirent: Tous te cherchent!
38 And he saith to them, Let us go elsewhere into the neighboring towns, that I may preach there also; for, for this I came forth.
Il leur répondit: Allons ailleurs, dans les bourgs des environs, afin que j'y prêche aussi; car c'est pour cela que je suis venu.
39 And he went, preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out the demons.
Et il allait par toute la Galilée, prêchant dans les synagogues et chassant les démons.
40 And there cometh a leper to him beseeching him, and kneeling down, saying to him, If thou wilt, thou canst cleanse me.
Un lépreux vint à lui, et, s'étant jeté à genoux, il lui adressait cette prière: Si tu le veux, tu peux me rendre net.
41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith, I will; be thou cleansed.
Jésus, ému de compassion, étendit la main, le toucha et lui dit: Je le veux, sois net!
42 And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.
A l'instant, la lèpre disparut, et cet homme devint net.
43 And sternly charging him, he immediately sent him away,
Jésus le renvoya aussitôt, en lui faisant, d'une voix sévère, cette recommandation:
44 saying to him, See that thou say nothing to any one; but go, show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
Garde-toi d'en parler à personne; mais va, montre-toi au sacrificateur, et offre pour ta purification ce que Moïse a prescrit, afin que cela leur serve de témoignage.
45 But he went away, and began to publish it constantly, and to spread the matter abroad, so that Jesus could no more enter a city openly, but was without in desert places; and they came to him from every quarter.
Mais cet homme, étant parti, se mit à publier le fait et à le raconter partout, de sorte que Jésus ne pouvait plus entrer ouvertement dans une ville; mais il se tenait dehors dans des lieux écartés. Et l'on venait à lui de toutes parts.
