Mark 1
1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ;
Commencement de l’Évangile de Jésus-Christ.
2 as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: “Lo! I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way;”
Ainsi qu’il est écrit dans le prophète Ésaïe: «Voici j'envoie mon messager pour te précéder Et te préparer le chemin;
3 “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths!”
Une voix crie dans le désert: Préparez la voie du Seigneur, Aplanissez ses sentiers, »
4 John the Baptizer appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
Jean parut dans le désert, donnant et prêchant un baptême de repentance pour la rémission des péchés.
5 And there went out to him all the country of Judaea, and all they of Jerusalem and were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
Tout le pays de Judée et tous les habitants de Jérusalem accouraient à lui et ils étaient baptisés par lui dans le Jourdain, en confessant leurs péchés.
6 And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a leathern girdle about his loins, and he ate locusts and wild honey.
Jean avait un vêtement de poils de chameau et une ceinture de cuir autour des reins, et il se nourrissait de sauterelles et de miel sauvage.
7 And he preached, saying, There cometh after me one mightier than I, the latchet of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and loose.
Il disait dans sa prédication: «Il va venir, après moi, celui qui est plus puissant que moi! Je ne suis pas même digne, en me baissant, de délier la courroie de ses sandales.
8 I have baptized you with water; but he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.
Moi, je vous ai baptisés d'eau; mais lui vous baptisera avec l'Esprit saint.»
9 And it came to pass that in those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
Or, ce fut en ces jours mêmes que Jésus arriva de Nazareth en Galilée et il fut baptisé par Jean dans le Jourdain.
10 And immediately on coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens parted, and the Spirit descending as a dove upon him.
Soudain, comme il sortait de l'eau, il vit les cieux ouverts et l'Esprit en forme de colombe descendre sur lui,
11 And there was a voice from the heavens, “Thou art my beloved Son; with thee I am well pleased.”
et des cieux vint une voix: «Tu es mon Fils bien-aimé, en toi je me complais.»
12 And immediately the Spirit driveth him forth into the wilderness.
Et l'Esprit aussitôt entraîna Jésus au désert;
13 And he was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him.
et il fut quarante jours dans le désert, tenté par Satan, et il fut parmi les bêtes, et les anges le servaient.
14 But after John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the glad tidings of God,
Après que Jean eut été livré, Jésus se rendit en Galilée et y prêcha l'Évangile de Dieu:
15 [[saying, ]] The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe the glad tidings.
«Les temps sont accomplis; le Royaume de Dieu est proche; repentez-vous et croyez à l'Évangile.
16 And as he was passing along by the lake of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon dragging a net in the lake; for they were fishers.
Comme il longeait la mer de Galilée, il vit Simon et son frère André jetant leurs filets dans la mer, car ils étaient pêcheurs.
17 And Jesus said to them, Come after me, and I will cause you to become fishers of men.
Jésus leur dit: «Venez après moi et je vous ferai devenir des pêcheurs d'hommes.»
18 And immediately they left their nets, and followed him.
Sur-le-champ ils abandonnèrent les filets et le suivirent.
19 And going on a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending the nets;
S'étant avancé un peu plus loin, il vit, dans leurs barques, Jacques, fils de Zébédée, et Jean, son frère, qui raccommodaient leurs filets.
20 and immediately he called them. And leaving their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men, they went after him.
Il les appela aussitôt; et ceux-ci, laissant leur père Zébédée dans la barque avec les hommes de service, partirent à sa suite.
21 And they enter Capernaum; and immediately on the sabbath he was teaching in the synagogue.
Ils arrivèrent à Capharnaüm. Il commença immédiatement à entrer les jours de sabbat dans la synagogue et à y enseigner;
22 And they were astonished at his teaching; for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
et ils étaient extrêmement frappés de son enseignement; car il le donnait comme ayant autorité, et non comme les Scribes.
23 And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,
Il y avait à ce moment même dans leur synagogue un homme possédé d'un esprit impur; il s'écria:
24 saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus of Nazareth? Thou hast come to destroy us; we know who thou art, the Holy One of God.
«Qu'y a-t-il entre nous et toi, Jésus de Nazareth? Tu es venu pour nous perdre; je sais qui tu es: le Saint de Dieu!»
25 And Jesus rebuked him, [[saying, ]] Be silent, and come out of him.
Jésus alors le menaça: «Tais-toi! sors de cet homme!»
26 And the unclean spirit convulsing him, and crying out with a loud voice, came out of him.
Agitant violemment le possédé, l'Esprit impur sortit de lui en poussant un grand cri.
27 And they were all amazed, so that they questioned each other, saying, What is this? New teaching with authority; even the unclean spirits doth he command, and they obey him!
Tous les assistants, terrifiés, s'interrogeaient les uns les autres: «Qu'est-ce que ceci? Voilà un enseignement nouveau! il commande avec autorité même aux Esprits impurs, et ils lui obéissent.»
28 And immediately his fame spread abroad everywhere through the whole surrounding country of Galilee.
Sa renommée se répandit promptement et partout aux environs, dans la Galilée entière.
29 And having come out of the synagogue, they immediately entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
En sortant de la synagogue, ils se rendirent tout d'abord, accompagnés de Jacques et de Jean, dans la maison de Simon et d’André.
30 And Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever; and they immediately speak to him about her.
La belle-mère de Simon était couchée; elle avait la fièvre. On s'empressa de le dire à Jésus.
31 And he went to her, and took her by the hand, and raised her up; and the fever left her, and she waited on them.
Alors, s'approchant d'elle, il la prit par la main et la fit lever. La fièvre disparut et elle se mit à les servir.
32 And in the evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all that were sick, and those who were possessed by demons;
Le soir venu, après le coucher du soleil, on lui apporta tous les malades et les démoniaques.
33 and the whole city was assembled at the door.
La ville entière se pressait à la porte.
34 And he healed many that were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and he suffered not the demons to speak, because they knew him.
Il guérit plusieurs malades atteints de maux divers; il chassa aussi beaucoup de démons et il défendait aux démons de parler, parce qu'ils savaient qui il était.
35 And rising early, long before day, he went out, and withdrew into a desert place, and there prayed.
S'étant levé de grand matin, avant le jour, il alla dans un lieu solitaire et là il priait.
36 And Simon and those with him went in search of him,
Simon et ceux qui étaient avec lui se mirent à sa recherche.
37 and found him. And they say to him, All people are in search of thee.
Quand ils l'eurent trouvé, ils lui dirent: «Tout le monde te cherche.»
38 And he saith to them, Let us go elsewhere into the neighboring towns, that I may preach there also; for, for this I came forth.
Il leur répondit: «Allons dans les villages voisins, afin que j'y prêche aussi, car c'est pour cela que je suis sorti.»
39 And he went, preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out the demons.
Il alla donc prêcher dans leurs synagogues et dans toute la Galilée, en chassant les démons.
40 And there cometh a leper to him beseeching him, and kneeling down, saying to him, If thou wilt, thou canst cleanse me.
Un lépreux vint à lui et, se jetant à ses genoux, lui adressa cette prière: «Si tu le veux, tu peux me guérir!»
41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith, I will; be thou cleansed.
Il en eut compassion; il étendit la main et le toucha en disant: «Je le veux, sois guéri.»
42 And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.
La lèpre disparut à l'instant; cet homme fut guéri.
43 And sternly charging him, he immediately sent him away,
Jésus le congédia immédiatement, en lui donnant cet avertissement sévère:
44 saying to him, See that thou say nothing to any one; but go, show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
«Garde-toi de parler de ceci à personne; mais va te montrer au prêtre et offre pour ta guérison ce que Moïse a prescrit; que ce leur soit un témoignage.»
45 But he went away, and began to publish it constantly, and to spread the matter abroad, so that Jesus could no more enter a city openly, but was without in desert places; and they came to him from every quarter.
Mais, à peine parti, le lépreux se mit à répandre la nouvelle et à la proclamer; de sorte que Jésus ne pouvait plus même paraître publiquement dans une ville; mais il se tenait dehors dans des endroits déserts, et on venait à lui de toutes parts.
