< Mark 6 >

1 And he went out from thence, and cometh into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
Yesu n’ava mu kitundu ekyo n’abayigirizwa be n’addayo mu kibuga ky’ewaabwe.
2 And when the sabbath was come, he began to teach in the synagogue. And most people when they heard him were astonished, saying, Whence hath this man these things? And what is the wisdom which is given him? And how is it that such miracles are wrought by his hands?
Olunaku lwa Ssabbiiti bwe lwatuuka n’agenda mu kkuŋŋaaniro okuyigiriza, abantu bangi abaaliwo ne beewuunya nnyo bwe baawulira bw’ayigiriza, ne bawuniikirira ne beebuuza nti, “Bino byonna yabiyigira wa era magezi ga ngeri ki ono ge yaweebwa n’eby’amagero ebyenkanidde wano by’akola?”
3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, and Joses, and Judah, and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us? And they took offence at him.
Ne beebuuza nti, “Ono si ye mwana w’omubazzi? Maliyamu si ye nnyina, ne baganda be si be ba Yakobo, ne Yose, ne Yuda ne Simooni? Ne bannyina tetubeera nabo kuno?” Ekyo ne kibatawanya mu mutima.
4 And Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, and among his own kindred, and in his own house.
Yesu n’abagamba nti, “Nnabbi aweebwa ekitiibwa buli wantu okuggyako mu nsi y’ewaabwe ne mu bantu be ne mu maka ge waabwe.”
5 And he could not do any miracle there, except that he laid his hand upon a few sick persons, and cured them.
Naye teyakolerayo byamagero bingi okuggyako abalwadde abatonotono be yakwatako n’abawonya.
6 And he wondered at their want of faith. And he went about the surrounding villages teaching.
N’awuniikirira nnyo okulaba nga tebamukkirizza. Awo n’agenda ng’ayigiriza mu byalo ebiriraanyeewo.
7 And he calleth to him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over the unclean spirits;
Awo Yesu n’ayita abayigirizwa be ekkumi n’ababiri n’abatuma babiri babiri era n’abawa obuyinza okugoba emyoyo emibi ku bantu.
8 and commanded them that they should take nothing for the way but a staff only; no bread, no bag, no money in their girdle;
N’abakuutira obutatwala kantu konna okuggyako omuggo ogw’okutambuza gwokka nti, “Temutwala mmere wadde akagugu newaakubadde ensimbi mu lukoba.
9 but to be shod with sandals; and, Do not put on two coats.
Mwambale engatto naye temutwala kkanzu yakubiri.”
10 And he said to them, Wherever ye enter a house, there abide fill ye leave that place.
N’abagamba nti, “Era buli nnyumba gye munaayingirangamu musulanga omwo okutuusa lwe muliva mu kibuga ekyo.
11 And whatever place shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye go thence, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony to them.
Era bwe mutuukanga mu kifo ne batabaaniriza yadde okubawuliriza, bwe mubanga muvaayo mukunkumuliranga mu kifo omwo enfuufu ey’omu bigere byammwe, okuba akabonero gye bali.”
12 And they went out and preached that men should repent;
Awo abayigirizwa ne bagenda nga babuulira buli muntu nti, “Mwenenye.”
13 and they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many sick persons, and healed them.
Ne bagoba baddayimooni bangi ku bantu, ne basiiga abalwadde amafuta ne babawonya.
14 And king Herod heard of him (for his name was spread abroad), and he said, John the Baptizer hath risen from the dead, and therefore do these powers work in him. But others said, It is Elijah.
Awo Kabaka Kerode n’awulira ettutumu lya Yesu, kubanga yali ayogerwako wonna olw’ebyamagero bye yakolanga. Naye Kerode n’alowooza nti Yokaana Omubatiza y’azuukidde, kubanga abantu baayogeranga nti, “Tewali muntu mulala ayinza kukola byamagero nga bino.”
15 And others said, It is a prophet, as one of the prophets.
Naye abalala ne balowooza nti, “Eriya.” N’abalala ne bagamba nti, “Nnabbi ng’omu ku bannabbi ab’edda.”
16 But Herod hearing of it said, John, whom I beheaded, hath risen again.
Kerode bwe yabiwulira ye n’agamba nti, “Oyo Yokaana, omusajja gwe natemako omutwe, y’azuukide mu bafu.”
17 For Herod himself had sent forth and seized John, and bound him in prison, on account of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife; for he had married her.
Kubanga Kerode yennyini ye yatuma abaserikale be ne bakwata Yokaana Omubatiza ne bamuggalira mu kkomera, olwa Kerudiya muka muganda we Firipo, Kerode gwe yali awasizza.
18 For John had said to Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.
Yokaana yagamba Kerode nti, “Si kituufu okutwala Kerudiya muka muganda wo Firipo.”
19 And Herodias was enraged against him, and wished to put him to death, but could not.
Kerudiya n’ayagala okutta Yokaana yeesasuze, naye nga tayinza.
20 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and was regardful of him; and on hearing him, was in much anxiety, and listened to him gladly.
Kubanga Kerode yatyanga Yokaana Omubatiza, ng’amuwa ekitiibwa ng’omuntu wa Katonda ow’amazima era omutukuvu, era ng’amukuuma. Era Kerode bwe yayogeranga ne Yokaana ng’emmeeme ye tetereera, so nga yali ayagala nnyo okuwuliriza by’amugamba.
21 And a convenient day having come, when Herod on his birthday made a supper for his nobles and chief captains and the principal men of Galilee,
Naye olwali olwo, Kabaka Kerode n’afumba embaga ku lunaku lw’amazaalibwa ge, n’ayita abakungu be n’abakulu b’abaserikale n’abaami bonna abatutumufu mu Ggaliraaya.
22 and the daughter of Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those at table with him; and the king said to the damsel, Ask of me whatever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
Awo muwala wa Kerudiya yennyini n’ajja n’azina nnyo, n’asanyusa Kerode n’abagenyi be yali atudde nabo ku mbaga. Awo Kabaka Kerode n’agamba omuwala nti, “Nsaba kyonna ky’oyagala nange nnaakikuwa.”
23 And he swore to her, Whatever thou shalt ask of me, I will give thee, to the half of my kingdom.
Era n’ayongera okumulayirira nti, “Kyonna kyonna ky’ononsaba yadde ekitundu ky’obwakabaka bwange nnaakikuwa!”
24 And she went out and said to her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptizer.
Awo omuwala n’afuluma ne yeebuuza ku nnyina. Nnyina n’amugamba nti, “Saba omutwe gwa Yokaana Omubatiza!”
25 And she came in immediately with haste to the king, and asked, saying, I desire that thou wilt give me immediately on a platter the head of John the Baptist.
Omuwala n’addayo mangu eri kabaka n’amusaba nti, “Njagala ompe kaakano, ku ssowaani, omutwe gwa Yokaana Omubatiza!”
26 And the king was exceedingly sorry; but on account of his oaths, and of those at table with him, he would not refuse her.
Kino ne kinakuwaza nnyo kabaka, n’anyiikaala nnyo, kyokka olwokubanga yali amaze okulayira n’okweyama ng’abagenyi be bawulira, n’atya okumenya obweyamo bwe.
27 And the king immediately sent one of his guards, and ordered his head to be brought. And he went and beheaded him in the prison,
Bw’atyo n’ayita omuserikale we, n’amulagira agende aleete omutwe gwa Yokaana. Omuserikale n’agenda mu kkomera, n’atemako Yokaana omutwe,
28 and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the damsel; and the damsel gave it to her mother.
n’aguleeteera ku lutiba, n’aguwa omuwala n’omuwala n’agutwalira nnyina.
29 And his disciples, when they heard of it, came and took up his body, and laid it in a tomb.
Abayigirizwa ba Yokaana bwe baategeera ne bajja ne baggyawo omulambo gwe, ne bagutwala ne baguziika.
30 And the apostles gather together to Jesus, and told him all which they had done and taught.
Awo abatume ne bakomawo awali Yesu ne bamunnyonnyola byonna bye baakola ne bye baayigiriza.
31 And he saith to them, Come ye by yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while. For there were many coming and going; and they had no leisure, even to eat.
N’abagamba nti, “Mujje tugende mu kifo eteri bantu tuwummuleko.” Kubanga baali babuliddwa n’akaseera ak’okuliiramu ku mmere olw’abantu abangi abajjanga gye bali; bano baabanga baakavaawo ate ng’abalala bajja.
32 And they went away into a desert place in the boat apart.
Bwe batyo ne balinnya mu lyato ne bagenda mu kifo ekiwolerevu eteri bantu.
33 And many saw them departing, and knew them, and ran together on foot thither from all the cities, and arrived before them.
Naye abantu bangi abaava mu bibuga bingi ne babalaba nga bagenda ne bategeera gye baali bagenda ne badduka okwetooloola ku lukalu ne babeesookayo.
34 And when he came forth, he saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion for them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.
Yesu bwe yava mu lyato n’alaba ekibiina ky’abantu bangi abaali bakuŋŋaanye n’abasaasira nga bali ng’endiga ezitalina musumba. Awo n’atandika okubayigiriza ebintu bingi.
35 And late in the day his disciples came to him, and said, This is a desert place, and it is now late;
Awo obudde bwe bwawungeera abayigirizwa ne bajja awali Yesu ne bamugamba nti, “Ekifo kino kya ddungu ate n’obudde buwungedde.
36 send them away, that they may go into the surrounding fields and villages, and buy themselves something to eat.
Abantu basiibule bagende beegulire emmere mu byalo ne mu bibuga ebiriraanye wano.”
37 But he answering said to them, Give ye them to eat. And they say to him, Shall we go and buy two hundred denaries' worth of bread, and give them to eat?
Naye Yesu n’abaddamu nti, “Mmwe mubawe ekyokulya.” Ne bamubuuza nti, “Tugende tubagulire emmere nga ya dinaali ebikumi bibiri, tugibawe balye?”
38 He saith to them, How many loaves have ye? Go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
Yesu n’ababuuza nti, “Mulina emigaati emeka? Mugende mulabe.” Bwe baamala okwetegereza ne bamugamba nti, “Waliwo emigaati etaano n’ebyennyanja bibiri.”
39 And he ordered them to make all lie down in companies upon the green grass.
Awo Yesu n’alagira abantu bonna batuule wansi ku muddo mu bibinja.
40 And they lay down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
Awo ne batuula mu bibinja, eby’abantu ataano ataano, awalala kikumi kikumi.
41 And taking the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven and blessed, and broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples to set before them; and the two fishes he divided among them all.
Yesu n’atoola emigaati etaano n’ebyennyanja ebibiri n’ayimusa amaaso ge eri eggulu ne yeebaza Katonda. N’amenyaamenya emigaati n’ebyennyanja ebibiri, n’abiwa abayigirizwa be ne bagabula abantu bonna ne babuna.
42 And they all ate, and were filled.
Bonna ne balya ne bakkuta.
43 And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.
Ne bakuŋŋaanya obukunkumuka bw’emigaati n’obw’ebyennyanja ebisero kkumi na bibiri.
44 And they who ate of the loaves were five thousand men.
Abasajja abaalya emigaati baali enkumi ttaano.
45 And he immediately constrained his disciples to get into the boat, and to go before to the other side to Bethsaida, while he sent the multitude away.
Amangwago Yesu n’alagira abayigirizwa be basaabale mu lyato bawunguke bagende emitala w’ennyanja e Besusayida abasange eyo, ng’amaze okusiibula ebibiina by’abantu.
46 And when he had taken leave of them, he went away into the mountain to pray.
Bwe yamala okubasiibula n’alinnya ku lusozi okusaba.
47 And when evening came, the boat was in the midst of the lake; and he was alone on the land.
Awo obudde bwe bwawungeera, Yesu ng’asigadde yekka ku lukalu,
48 And when he saw them toiling hard in rowing, for the wind was against them, about the fourth watch of the night he cometh to them, walking upon the lake. And he would have passed by them;
n’abalengera nga bategana n’eryato kubanga waaliwo omuyaga mungi n’amayengo amagulumivu ebyabafuluma mu maaso gye baali balaga. Awo obudde bwali bunaatera okukya nga ku ssaawa mwenda ez’ekiro, n’ajja gye bali ng’atambulira ku mazzi, n’aba ng’ayagala okubayitako.
49 but they, seeing him walking upon the lake, thought it was a spectre, and cried out.
Naye bwe baamulaba ng’atambulira ku nnyanja ne baleekaana nnyo, bonna, nga batidde, kubanga baalowooza nti muzimu,
50 For they all saw him, and were terrified. But he immediately spoke with them, and saith to them, Be of good cheer; it is I, be not afraid.
kubanga bonna baamulaba ne batya. Naye n’ayanguwa okwogera nabo, n’abagamba nti, “Mugume omwoyo. Ye Nze, temutya.”
51 And he went up to them into the boat, and the wind ceased. And they were exceedingly astonished, beyond measure.
Awo n’alinnya mu lyato, omuyaga ne gulekeraawo okukunta! Abayigirizwa be ne bawuniikirira nnyo.
52 For they did not consider the matter of the loaves; but their heart was hardened.
Tebategeera kyamagero eky’emigaati kubanga emitima gyabwe gyali mikakanyavu.
53 And crossing over, they came to land, to Gennesaret; and anchored there.
Awo eryato lyabwe bwe lyagoba ku lubalama lw’ennyanja Genesaleeti,
54 And when they had come out of the boat, the people immediately knowing who he was,
ne bavaamu. Abantu bwe balaba Yesu, amangwago ne bamutegeererawo.
55 ran through all that region, and began to carry about on beds those that were sick to the place where they heard he was.
Ne babuna mu bitundu ebyali biriraanyeewo nga bamuleetera abalwadde nga basituliddwa ku butanda.
56 And wherever he entered into villages or cities or the open country, they laid the sick in the market-places, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the fringe of his garment; and as many as touched him were made well.
Wonna wonna gye yagendanga, mu byalo, mu bibuga, mu butale ne ku nguudo ne baleeta abalwadde ne bamwegayirira waakiri bakwateko bukwasi ku lukugiro lw’ekyambalo kye. Era bonna abaakikwatako ne bawona.
