Mark 5
1 And they came to the other side of the lake, into the country of the Gerasenes.
Vậy họ đến bờ bên kia, thuộc vùng Ga-đa-ren.
2 And when he had come out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
Lúc Chúa Giê-xu bước lên bờ, một người bị quỷ ám từ trong nghĩa địa chạy đến gặp Ngài.
3 who had his dwelling in the tombs; and not even with a chain could any one bind him any longer;
Anh ấy sống trong bãi tha ma, mạnh mẽ dữ tợn vô cùng.
4 because he had often been bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been snapped asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces; and no one could master him;
Mỗi khi bị xiềng tay còng chân, anh liền bứt xiềng đập còng bỏ đi, chẳng ai đủ sức trị nổi.
5 and continually, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying out, and cutting himself, with stones.
Suốt ngày đêm, anh lang thang giữa nghĩa trang, trên đồi núi, kêu la và lấy đá nhọn rạch mình.
6 And seeing Jesus afar off, he ran and bowed down before him,
Khi Chúa Giê-xu còn ở từ xa, anh đã thấy Ngài, vội chạy đến quỳ xuống thờ lạy.
7 and cried out with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, do not torment me.
Anh run rẩy hét lên: “Giê-xu, Con Đức Chúa Trời Chí Cao! Ngài định làm gì tôi? Nhân danh Đức Chúa Trời, xin đừng hành hại tôi!”
8 For he was saying to him, Unclean spirit, come out from the man.
Anh nói thế vì Chúa Giê-xu ra lệnh: “Ác quỷ, hãy ra khỏi người này.”
9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he saith to him, Legion is my name; for we are many.
Chúa Giê-xu hỏi: “Mày tên gì?” Đáp: “Tôi tên Quân Đoàn, vì chúng tôi rất đông.”
10 And he besought him much not to send them out of the country.
Bọn quỷ cầu xin Ngài đừng đuổi chúng ra khỏi vùng đó.
11 Now there was there, by the mountain, a great herd of swine feeding.
Trên sườn núi, có bầy heo đông đúc đang ăn.
12 And they besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
Bọn quỷ nài nỉ: “Xin Chúa cho chúng tôi nhập vào bầy heo đó.”
13 And he gave them leave. And the unclean spirits coming out, entered into the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep into the lake, about two thousand, and were drowned in the lake.
Chúa Giê-xu cho phép. Bọn quỷ ra khỏi người bị ám, nhập vào bầy heo. Cả bầy heo độ 2.000 con, liền lao đầu qua bờ đá rơi xuống biển, chết chìm hết.
14 And they that fed them fled, and told the news in the city and in the country. And they came to see what had been done.
Bọn chăn heo chạy vào thành và thôn xóm gần đó báo tin. Mọi người đổ xô ra xem cho tường tận.
15 And they come to Jesus, and see him who had been possessed by demons, sitting, clothed, and in his right mind, —him who had had the legion; and they were afraid.
Họ đến gần Chúa Giê-xu, thấy người vốn bị quỷ ám ngồi đó, áo quần tươm tất, trí óc tỉnh táo, thì họ khiếp sợ.
16 And they who saw it told them how it befell him that was possessed by the demons, and concerning the swine.
Những người chứng kiến việc ấy đều thuật lại từng chi tiết về người bị quỷ ám và những con heo.
17 And they began to beseech him to depart from their borders.
Đoàn dân nài xin Chúa Giê-xu đi nơi khác.
18 And when he was going on board the boat, he that had been possessed by the demons besought him that be might be with him.
Vì thế, Chúa Giê-xu lui về thuyền. Người vốn bị quỷ ám xin đi theo Ngài.
19 And he did not permit him, but said to him, Go to thy house to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and that he hath had compassion on thee.
Nhưng Chúa Giê-xu bảo: “Con về nhà, kể cho bạn hữu nghe những việc diệu kỳ Đức Chúa Trời đã làm cho con, và lòng nhân từ của Ngài đối với con.”
20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him; and all wondered.
Người ấy đi khắp vùng Mười Thành, rao giảng những việc lớn lao Chúa Giê-xu đã làm cho mình; mọi người nghe chuyện đều kinh ngạc.
21 And when Jesus had crossed again in the boat to the ether side, a great multitude gathered about him; and he was by the lake.
Khi Chúa Giê-xu vượt biển trở lại bờ bên kia, dân chúng tụ họp quanh Ngài.
22 And there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and seeing him, he fell at his feet,
Giai-ru, viên quản lý nhà hội đến và quỳ trước mặt Chúa,
23 and besought him much, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death; I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be saved and live.
khẩn khoản: “Con gái tôi sắp chết, xin Thầy làm ơn đến đặt tay trên mình nó cứu nó sống.”
24 And he went with him; and a great multitude followed him, and pressed upon him.
Chúa Giê-xu đi với ông, dân chúng chen lấn chung quanh Ngài.
25 And a woman, who had had an issue of blood twelve years,
Trong đám đông, có một phụ nữ bị bệnh rong huyết đã mười hai năm.
26 and had undergone much at the hands of many physicians, and spent all that she had, and was not at all benefited, but rather grew worse,
Bà khổ sở vì lâu nay đã chạy lắm thầy nhiều thuốc, hao tốn tiền của mà vẫn không khỏi bệnh.
27 having heard about Jesus, came in the crowd behind, and touched his garment.
Bà nghe đồn về quyền năng của Chúa Giê-xu, nên len vào đám đông, đến sau lưng Chúa và sờ áo Ngài.
28 For she said, If I touch even his garments, I shall be made well.
Bà tự nhủ: “Ta chỉ cần sờ áo Chúa là được lành!”
29 And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she perceived in her body that she was cured of her plague.
Ngay khi bà sờ áo Chúa, huyết liền cầm lại, bà biết mình đã lành bệnh!
30 And Jesus immediately perceiving in himself that power had gone out from him, turned round in the crowed, and said, Who touched my garments?
Lập tức, Chúa Giê-xu nhận biết có quyền lực chữa bệnh từ Ngài phát ra, nên nhìn quanh đám đông và hỏi: “Ai vừa sờ áo Ta?”
31 And his disciples said to him, Thou seest the multitude pressing on thee, and dost thou say, Who touched me?
Các môn đệ thưa: “Bao nhiêu người đang chen lấn quanh Thầy, sao Thầy còn hỏi ai đụng vào Thầy?”
32 And he looked round to see her who had done this.
Nhưng Chúa cứ nhìn quanh, tìm người đã sờ áo Ngài.
33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
Người phụ nữ run rẩy, sợ hãi, biết mình đã lành bệnh, đến quỳ dưới chân Chúa, trình bày tất cả sự thật.
34 And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee well; go in peace, and be recovered from thy plague.
Chúa nói với bà: “Con ơi, đức tin con đã chữa cho con lành. Con về nhà bình an, mạnh khỏe.”
35 While he was yet speaking, there came from the house I of the ruler of the synagogue some who said, Thy daughter is dead; why dost thou trouble the Teacher any further?
Trong khi Chúa còn đang nói, người nhà Giai-ru đến báo tin: “Con gái ông chết rồi! Đừng làm phiền Thầy nữa!”
36 And Jesus, overhearing those words, saith to the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not; only believe.
Nhưng Chúa Giê-xu chẳng quan tâm đến lời trình báo. Ngài bảo Giai-ru: “Đừng sợ. Hãy vững lòng tin.”
37 And he suffered no one to follow him except Peter and James, and John the brother of James.
Chúa Giê-xu không cho ai đi theo Ngài, ngoài Phi-e-rơ, Gia-cơ, và Giăng.
38 And they come to the house of the ruler of the synagogue; and he seeth a tumult, and people weeping and wailing greatly.
Khi đến nhà Giai-ru, Ngài thấy cả nhà huyên náo vì những tiếng than khóc kêu la.
39 And going in, he saith to them, Why do ye make this confusion and weeping? The child is not dead, but is sleeping.
Vừa bước vào, Chúa hỏi mọi người: “Tại sao khóc lóc ồn ào thế? Em bé chỉ ngủ chứ không chết đâu.”
40 And they laughed him to scorn. But putting them all out, he taketh the father of the child, and the mother, and those who were with him, and entereth where the child was.
Họ quay lại chế nhạo Ngài, nhưng Ngài bảo mọi người lui ra, rồi đưa cha cô bé và ba môn đệ vào phòng.
41 And taking hold of the hand of the child, he saith to her, Talitha, kum; which is, when interpreted, Damsel, I say to thee, arise!
Cầm tay nó, Chúa gọi: “Con ơi, dậy đi!”
42 And immediately the damsel arose and walked; for she was twelve years old. And immediately they were greatly astonished.
Cô bé liền đứng dậy, bước đi. (Nó đã được mười hai tuổi). Cha mẹ nó ngạc nhiên, sững sờ.
43 And he charged them strictly that no one should know it, and bade that something should be given her to eat.
Chúa Giê-xu dặn họ đừng đồn việc đó ra, và bảo cho cô bé ăn.
