Mark 5
1 And they came to the other side of the lake, into the country of the Gerasenes.
Ja he tulivat ylitse meren Gadaralaisten maakuntaan.
2 And when he had come out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
Ja kuin hän läksi haahdesta, kohtasi häntä kohta haudoista ihminen, jossa oli saastainen henki.
3 who had his dwelling in the tombs; and not even with a chain could any one bind him any longer;
Jolla oli maja haudoissa, ja ei voinut kenkään häntä kahleilla sitoa;
4 because he had often been bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been snapped asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces; and no one could master him;
Sillä hän oli usein jalkapuissa ja kahleissa sidottuna, ja hän oli särkenyt kahleet ja jalkapuut rikkonut, ja ei kenkään voinut häntä asettaa.
5 and continually, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying out, and cutting himself, with stones.
Ja hän oli aina yötä ja päivää vuorissa ja haudoissa, ja parkui, ja hosui itsiänsä kivillä.
6 And seeing Jesus afar off, he ran and bowed down before him,
Mutta kuin hän näki taampana Jesuksen, juoksi hän ja lankesi maahan hänen eteensä,
7 and cried out with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, do not torment me.
Ja huutain suurella äänellä sanoi: mitä minun on sinun kanssas, Jesus, korkeimman Jumalan Poika? Minä vannotan sinua Jumalan kautta, ettet minua vaivaisi.
8 For he was saying to him, Unclean spirit, come out from the man.
(Sillä hän sanoi hänelle: lähde ulos saastainen henki ihmisestä.)
9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he saith to him, Legion is my name; for we are many.
Ja hän kysyi häneltä: mikä nimes on? Ja hän vastasi, sanoen: legio on minun nimeni; sillä meitä on monta.
10 And he besought him much not to send them out of the country.
Ja hän rukoili häntä suuresti, ettei hän lähettäisi heitä ulos siitä maakunnasta.
11 Now there was there, by the mountain, a great herd of swine feeding.
Niin oli siinä vuorten tykönä suuri sikalauma laitumella.
12 And they besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
Ja kaikki ne perkeleet rukoilivat häntä, sanoen: laske meitä sikoihin, että me heihin menisimme sisälle.
13 And he gave them leave. And the unclean spirits coming out, entered into the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep into the lake, about two thousand, and were drowned in the lake.
Ja Jesus salli kohta heidän. Ja saastaiset henget läksivät ulos ja menivät sikain sisälle. Ja lauma syöksi itsensä kohdastansa mereen (mutta heitä oli lähes kaksituhatta), ja he upposivat mereen.
14 And they that fed them fled, and told the news in the city and in the country. And they came to see what had been done.
Mutta sikain kaitsiat pakenivat ja saattivat sanoman kaupunkiin ja kyliin. Ja he menivät ulos katsomaan, mikä se oli joka tapahtui,
15 And they come to Jesus, and see him who had been possessed by demons, sitting, clothed, and in his right mind, —him who had had the legion; and they were afraid.
Ja tulivat Jesuksen tykö ja näkivät sen, joka perkeleeltä riivattu oli, istuvan ja vaatetettuna ja toimellisena, jossa legio oli ollut; ja he pelkäsivät,
16 And they who saw it told them how it befell him that was possessed by the demons, and concerning the swine.
Ja ne, jotka sen nähneet olivat, juttelivat heille, kuinka perkeleeltä riivatulle tapahtunut oli, ja sioista.
17 And they began to beseech him to depart from their borders.
Ja he rupesivat häntä rukoilemaan menemään pois heidän maaltansa.
18 And when he was going on board the boat, he that had been possessed by the demons besought him that be might be with him.
Ja kuin hän astui haahteen, niin se, joka perkeleeltä riivattu oli, rukoili, että hän sais hänen kanssansa olla.
19 And he did not permit him, but said to him, Go to thy house to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and that he hath had compassion on thee.
Mutta ei Jesus häntä sallinut, vaan sanoi hänelle: mene kotias omaistes tykö, ja ilmoita heille, kuinka suuret työt Herra on sinulle tehnyt, ja on sinua armahtanut.
20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him; and all wondered.
Ja hän meni ja rupesi saarnaamaan niissä kymmenessä kaupungissa, kuinka suuret työt Jesus oli hänelle tehnyt; ja he kaikki ihmettelivät.
21 And when Jesus had crossed again in the boat to the ether side, a great multitude gathered about him; and he was by the lake.
Ja kuin Jesus taas meni haahdella ylitse, kokoontui paljo kansaa hänen tykönsä, ja hän oli läsnä merta.
22 And there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and seeing him, he fell at his feet,
Ja katso, synagogan päämies, Jairus nimeltä, tuli, ja kuin hän näki hänen, lankesi hän hänen jalkainsa tykö,
23 and besought him much, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death; I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be saved and live.
Ja rukoili häntä suuresti, sanoen: minun vähä tyttäreni on viimeisillänsä; tule ja pane kätes hänen päällensä, että hän paranis ja eläis.
24 And he went with him; and a great multitude followed him, and pressed upon him.
Niin hän meni hänen kanssansa; ja paljo kansaa seurasi häntä, ja ahdistivat häntä.
25 And a woman, who had had an issue of blood twelve years,
Ja vaimo, joka oli sairastanut punaista tautia kaksitoistakymmentä ajastaikaa,
26 and had undergone much at the hands of many physicians, and spent all that she had, and was not at all benefited, but rather grew worse,
Ja oli paljon kärsinyt monelta parantajalta, ja oli kuluttanut kaiken hyvyytensä, eikä mitään apua tuntenut, vaan tullut paljon pahemmaksi;
27 having heard about Jesus, came in the crowd behind, and touched his garment.
Kuin hän kuuli Jesuksesta, tuli hän kansan seassa takaa ja rupesi hänen vaatteisiinsa;
28 For she said, If I touch even his garments, I shall be made well.
Sillä hän sanoi: jos minä ainoasti saan ruveta hänen vaatteisiinsa, niin minä paranen.
29 And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she perceived in her body that she was cured of her plague.
Ja hänen verilähteensä kohta kuivettui, ja hän tunsi ruumiissansa, että hän oli vitsauksestansa parantunut.
30 And Jesus immediately perceiving in himself that power had gone out from him, turned round in the crowed, and said, Who touched my garments?
Ja Jesus tunsi kohta itsessänsä voiman, joka hänestä lähtenyt oli, ja käänsi itsensä kansan seassa ja sanoi: kuka rupesi minun vaatteisiini?
31 And his disciples said to him, Thou seest the multitude pressing on thee, and dost thou say, Who touched me?
Ja hänen opetuslapsensa sanoivat hänelle: sinä näet, että kansa sinua ahdistaa ympäri, ja sinä sanoit: kuka minuun rupesi?
32 And he looked round to see her who had done this.
Ja hän katsoi ympärinsä, että hän sen näkis, joka sen teki.
33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
Mutta vaimo pelkäsi ja vapisi, että hän tiesi, mitä hänen kohtaansa tapahtunut oli, tuli ja lankesi hänen eteensä, ja sanoi hänelle kaiken totuuden.
34 And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee well; go in peace, and be recovered from thy plague.
Mutta hän sanoi hänelle: tyttäreni, sinun uskosi paransi sinun; mene rauhaan ja ole terve vitsauksestas.
35 While he was yet speaking, there came from the house I of the ruler of the synagogue some who said, Thy daughter is dead; why dost thou trouble the Teacher any further?
Kuin hän vielä puhui, tulivat muutamat synagogan päämieheltä, jotka sanoivat: sinun tyttäres on kuollut: mitäs silleen Mestaria vaivaat?
36 And Jesus, overhearing those words, saith to the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not; only believe.
Mutta Jesus kohta kuultuansa sen sanan sanottavan, sanoi synagogan päämiehelle: älä pelkää, ainoastaan usko.
37 And he suffered no one to follow him except Peter and James, and John the brother of James.
Ja ei hän sallinut kenenkään itsiänsä seurata, vaan Pietarin ja Jakobin ja Johanneksen, Jakobin veljen.
38 And they come to the house of the ruler of the synagogue; and he seeth a tumult, and people weeping and wailing greatly.
Ja hän tuli synagogan päämiehen huoneeseen, ja näki pauhinan ja ne, jotka itkivät ja porasivat paljon.
39 And going in, he saith to them, Why do ye make this confusion and weeping? The child is not dead, but is sleeping.
Ja hän meni sisälle, ja sanoi heille: mitä te pauhaatte ja itkette? Lapsi ei ole kuollut, vaan makaa.
40 And they laughed him to scorn. But putting them all out, he taketh the father of the child, and the mother, and those who were with him, and entereth where the child was.
Ja he nauroivat häntä. Mutta kuin hän oli kaikki ajanut ulos, otti hän lapsen isän ja äidin kanssansa ja ne, jotka hänen kanssansa olivat, ja meni sisälle, kussa lapsi makasi,
41 And taking hold of the hand of the child, he saith to her, Talitha, kum; which is, when interpreted, Damsel, I say to thee, arise!
Ja tarttui lapsen käteen ja sanoi hänelle: talita kumi, se on sanottu: piikainen, (sinulle minä sanon), nouse ylös.
42 And immediately the damsel arose and walked; for she was twelve years old. And immediately they were greatly astonished.
Ja kohta piika nousi ja kävi; sillä hän oli kahdentoistakymmenen ajastaikainen. Ja he hämmästyivät suurella hämmästyksellä.
43 And he charged them strictly that no one should know it, and bade that something should be given her to eat.
Ja hän haasti heitä kovin, ettei kenkään sitä saisi tietää, ja hän käski antaa hänelle syötävää.
