< Mark 5 >
1 And they came to the other side of the lake, into the country of the Gerasenes.
ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲕⲣⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ ⲉⲧⲉⲭⲱⲣⲁ ⲛⲛⲅⲉⲣⲁⲥⲏⲛⲟⲥ
2 And when he had come out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲫⲱϭⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲕⲣⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲙⲛⲧ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉϥⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲡⲛⲁ ⲛⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲧⲟⲛ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ
3 who had his dwelling in the tombs; and not even with a chain could any one bind him any longer;
ⲅ̅ⲉϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲉⲙⲡⲉϣⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϭⲉ ϭⲙϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲙⲟⲣϥ ϩⲛ ϩⲁⲗⲩⲥⲓⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
4 because he had often been bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been snapped asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces; and no one could master him;
ⲇ̅ϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲣϥ ⲛϩⲁϩ ⲛⲥⲟⲡ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲡⲁⲓⲇⲉⲥ ⲛⲙϩⲉⲛϩⲁⲗⲩⲥⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ϣⲁϥⲥⲗⲡⲛϩⲁⲗⲩⲥⲓⲥ ⲛϥⲟⲩⲉϭⲡ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲇⲉⲥ ⲉⲙⲡⲉϣⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϭⲙϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲣⲟϥ
5 and continually, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying out, and cutting himself, with stones.
ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲧⲉⲩϣⲏ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉϥϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲁⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲛ ⲛⲧⲟⲩⲓⲏ ⲉϥϫⲓϣⲕⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲩϩⲓⲟⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϩⲛ ⲛⲱⲛⲉ
6 And seeing Jesus afar off, he ran and bowed down before him,
ⲋ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲓⲏⲥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲟⲩⲉ ⲁϥⲡⲱⲧ ⲁϥⲡⲁϩⲧϥ ϩⲁⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲛⲁϥ
7 and cried out with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, do not torment me.
ⲍ̅ⲁϥⲱϣ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛϩⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲣⲟⲕ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲧϫⲟⲥⲉ ϯⲱⲣⲕ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲕⲃⲁⲥⲁⲛⲓⲍⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ
8 For he was saying to him, Unclean spirit, come out from the man.
ⲏ̅ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲓⲏⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲛⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲧⲟⲛ
9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he saith to him, Legion is my name; for we are many.
ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϥϫⲛⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲣⲛⲧⲕ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲗⲉⲅⲓⲱⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲣⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲧⲛϫⲕϩⲁϩ
10 And he besought him much not to send them out of the country.
ⲓ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲉⲭⲱⲣⲁ
11 Now there was there, by the mountain, a great herd of swine feeding.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲉⲥⲙⲡⲙⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϩⲁⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲁⲅⲉⲗⲏ ⲣⲣⲓⲣ ⲉⲩⲙⲟⲟⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ
12 And they besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϫⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲛⲉϣⲁⲩ
13 And he gave them leave. And the unclean spirits coming out, entered into the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep into the lake, about two thousand, and were drowned in the lake.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲕⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲛⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲧⲟⲛ ⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲛⲉϣⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲥⲣⲱϩⲧ ⲛϭⲓ ⲧⲁⲅⲉⲗⲏ ⲣⲣⲓⲣ ϩⲓϫⲛ ⲧϣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲭⲏⲧ ⲉⲩⲛⲁⲣϫⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲛϣⲉ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ
14 And they that fed them fled, and told the news in the city and in the country. And they came to see what had been done.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲡⲱⲧ ⲁⲩϫⲓⲡⲟⲩⲱ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲱϣⲉ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ
15 And they come to Jesus, and see him who had been possessed by demons, sitting, clothed, and in his right mind, —him who had had the legion; and they were afraid.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲛⲓⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲧⲟ ⲛⲣⲉϥϣⲟⲟⲣ ⲉϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲉⲓ ⲉⲣⲉⲛⲉϥϩⲟⲉⲓⲧⲉ ϩⲓⲱⲱϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉϥϩⲏⲧ ⲥⲙⲟⲛⲧ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲗⲉⲅⲉⲱⲛ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲣϩⲟⲧⲉ
16 And they who saw it told them how it befell him that was possessed by the demons, and concerning the swine.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲟ ⲛⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲛⲉϣⲁⲩ
17 And they began to beseech him to depart from their borders.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲡⲱⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲩⲧⲟϣ
18 And when he was going on board the boat, he that had been possessed by the demons besought him that be might be with him.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉϥⲛⲁⲧⲁⲗⲉ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓ ⲁϥⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲟ ⲛⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲟⲩⲁϩϥ ⲛⲥⲱϥ
19 And he did not permit him, but said to him, Go to thy house to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and that he hath had compassion on thee.
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡϥⲕⲁⲁϥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲕⲏⲉⲓ ϣⲁⲛⲉⲕⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲅⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲕ
20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him; and all wondered.
ⲕ̅ⲉⲁϥⲛⲁ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲁⲣⲭⲉⲥⲑⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲁϣⲉⲟⲉⲓϣ ϩⲛ ⲧⲇⲉⲕⲁⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲣϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ
21 And when Jesus had crossed again in the boat to the ether side, a great multitude gathered about him; and he was by the lake.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϫⲓⲟⲟⲣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲕⲣⲟ ⲁⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲙⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲉϥϩⲁⲧⲉⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ ⲇⲉ
22 And there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and seeing him, he fell at his feet,
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲟⲥ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲓⲁⲉⲓⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁϥⲡⲁϩⲧϥ ϩⲁⲣⲁⲧϥ
23 and besought him much, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death; I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be saved and live.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲁϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ⲙⲟⲕϩ ⲛϣⲱⲛⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ϭⲉ ⲉⲕⲉⲉⲓ ⲛⲅⲕⲁⲧⲟⲟⲧⲕ ϩⲓϫⲱⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲥⲉⲗⲟ ⲛⲥⲱⲛϩ
24 And he went with him; and a great multitude followed him, and pressed upon him.
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲁϩϥ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲙⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲛⲉⲩⲑⲗⲓⲃⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ
25 And a woman, who had had an issue of blood twelve years,
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲥⲛⲟϥ ϣⲟⲩⲟ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲛⲧⲥⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ ⲣⲣⲟⲙⲡⲉ
26 and had undergone much at the hands of many physicians, and spent all that she had, and was not at all benefited, but rather grew worse,
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲥϣⲉⲡϩⲁϩ ⲛϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲁϩ ⲛⲥⲁⲉⲓⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲥϫⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲩⲛⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲙⲡⲥⲙⲧⲟⲛ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲧⲁⲥⲉⲓ ⲛⲑⲟ
27 having heard about Jesus, came in the crowd behind, and touched his garment.
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲥⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲁⲥⲟϣⲥ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲁⲥⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲁϩⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲥϫⲱϩ ⲉⲧⲉϥϣⲧⲏⲛ
28 For she said, If I touch even his garments, I shall be made well.
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲥϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓϣⲁⲛϫⲱϩ ⲉⲛⲉϥϩⲟⲓⲧⲉ ϯⲛⲁⲗⲟ
29 And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she perceived in her body that she was cured of her plague.
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲥϭⲱ ⲛϭⲓ ⲧⲡⲏⲅⲏ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲥⲉⲓⲙⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲥⲥⲱⲙⲁ ϫⲉ ⲁⲥⲗⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲁⲥⲧⲓⲅⲝ ⲉⲧⲛⲙⲙⲁⲥ
30 And Jesus immediately perceiving in himself that power had gone out from him, turned round in the crowed, and said, Who touched my garments?
ⲗ̅ⲓⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲉⲓⲙⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲉⲧϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲥⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁϥⲕⲧⲟϥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲱϩ ⲉⲛⲁϩⲟⲓⲧⲉ
31 And his disciples said to him, Thou seest the multitude pressing on thee, and dost thou say, Who touched me?
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲕⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲉⲧⲑⲗⲓⲃⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲕ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲕϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲱϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲉⲓ
32 And he looked round to see her who had done this.
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲁϥⲕⲧⲉⲓⲁⲧϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲧⲁⲥⲣ ⲡⲁⲓ
33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲥⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲥⲥⲧⲱⲧ ⲉⲥⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲥⲉⲓ ⲁⲥⲡⲁϩⲧⲥ ϩⲁⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲁⲥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲧⲙⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ
34 And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee well; go in peace, and be recovered from thy plague.
ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲁϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ⲧⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲥⲛⲁϩⲙⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲛⲧⲉⲗⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲟⲩⲙⲁⲥⲧⲓⲅⲝ
35 While he was yet speaking, there came from the house I of the ruler of the synagogue some who said, Thy daughter is dead; why dost thou trouble the Teacher any further?
ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ⲉⲧⲓ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲟⲥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲕϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ⲁⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲕⲛⲁϯϩⲟⲓ ϭⲉ ⲙⲡⲥⲁϩ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲟⲩ
36 And Jesus, overhearing those words, saith to the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not; only believe.
ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ⲓⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲧⲉ
37 And he suffered no one to follow him except Peter and James, and John the brother of James.
ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡϥⲕⲁⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲟⲩⲁϩϥ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲛⲥⲁⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲙⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ ⲛⲙⲓⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲡⲥⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ
38 And they come to the house of the ruler of the synagogue; and he seeth a tumult, and people weeping and wailing greatly.
ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲏⲉⲓ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩϣⲧⲣⲧⲱⲣ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩⲣⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲩⲟⲩⲛⲣⲟ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ
39 And going in, he saith to them, Why do ye make this confusion and weeping? The child is not dead, but is sleeping.
ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲧⲣⲧⲱⲣ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲣⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲙⲡⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲥⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ
40 And they laughed him to scorn. But putting them all out, he taketh the father of the child, and the mother, and those who were with him, and entereth where the child was.
ⲙ̅ⲁⲩⲥⲱⲃⲉ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲛⲟϫⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁϥϫⲓⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲉⲥⲙⲁⲁⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ
41 And taking hold of the hand of the child, he saith to her, Talitha, kum; which is, when interpreted, Damsel, I say to thee, arise!
ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲛⲧϭⲓϫ ⲛⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲁⲗⲉⲓⲑⲁ ⲕⲟⲩⲙ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ϣⲁⲩⲟⲩⲁϩⲙⲉϥ ϫⲉ ⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲉⲉⲓϫⲉⲣⲟ ⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲉ
42 And immediately the damsel arose and walked; for she was twelve years old. And immediately they were greatly astonished.
ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲁⲥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲛⲉⲥϩⲙ ⲙⲛⲧⲥⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲣⲣⲟⲙⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲣϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ
43 And he charged them strictly that no one should know it, and bade that something should be given her to eat.
ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ⲁϥϩⲱⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲛⲛⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲓⲙⲉ ⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲧⲙⲙⲟⲥ
