Mark 2
1 And after some days he again entered Capernaum; and it was reported that he was in the house.
Nach einigen Tagen kehrte er wieder nach Kapernaum zurück.
2 And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room for them, even at the door; and he was speaking the word to them.
Kaum ward es ruchbar, er sei zu Hause, da sammelten sich alsbald so viele (in seiner Wohnung), daß die Leute selbst vor der Tür nicht alle stehen konnten. Während er ihnen nun das Wort verkündigte,
3 And they come to him, bringing one that was palsied, borne by four men.
brachte man ihm einen Gelähmten, der von vier Männern getragen wurde.
4 And not being able to bring him to him on account of the crowd, they took off the roof where he was; and when they had broken an opening, they let down the bed whereon the palsied man lay.
Da sie aber den Kranken der vielen Menschen wegen nicht zu ihm bringen konnten, deckten sie gerade über der Stelle, wo sich Jesus befand, das Dach ab, machten dann in der Decke eine Öffnung und ließe durch diese das Bett hinab, worauf der Gelähmte lag.
5 And Jesus seeing their faith, saith to the palsied man, Son, thy sins are forgiven.
Als Jesus ihren Glauben sah, sprach er zu dem Gelähmten: "Mein Sohn, deine Sünden sind dir vergeben!"
6 But there were some of the scribes sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,
Es saßen dort aber einige Schriftgelehrte, die dachten in ihren Herzen:
7 Why doth this man speak thus? He blasphemeth; who can forgive sins but God only?
"Wie darf dieser Mensch so reden? Er lästert ja! Wer kann Sünden vergeben als Gott allein?"
8 And Jesus immediately perceiving in his spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, saith to them, Why do ye reason thus in your hearts?
Jesus erkannte sofort in seinem Geist, daß sie so bei sich dachten, und sprach zu ihnen: "Was denkt ihr da in euern Herzen?
9 Which is easier? to say to the palsied man, Thy sins are forgiven? or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed and go?
Was ist leichter, zu dem Gelähmten zu sagen: 'Deine Sünden sind dir vergeben' oder das Wort zu sprechen: 'Steh auf, nimm dein Bett und wandle'?
10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins, —he saith to the palsied man, —
Ihr sollt aber sehen, daß der Menschensohn die Vollmacht hat, auf Erden Sünden zu vergeben." Nun wandte er sich zu dem Gelähmten und sprach:
11 I say to thee, Arise, take up thy bed and go to thy house.
"Ich sage dir: Steh auf, nimm dein Bett und geh nach Hause!"
12 And he arose, and immediately took up the bed and went forth before them all; so that they were all amazed, and gave glory to God, saying, We never saw it thus.
Da stand er auf, nahm auf der Stelle sein Bett und ging vor aller Augen hinaus. Darüber waren alle außer sich vor Staunen und priesen Gott, indem sie laut bekannten: "So etwas haben wir noch nie erlebt!"
13 And he went forth again to the lake; and all the multitude came to him, and he taught them.
Dann ging er wieder hinaus an den See. Da kam alles Volk zu ihm, und er lehrte sie.
14 And passing along, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the custom-house; and he saith to him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
Im Vorbeigehen sah er Levi, des Alphäus Sohn, vor seinem Zollhaus sitzen, und er sprach zu ihm: "Folge mir nach!" Da stand er auf und folgte ihm.
15 And it happened that he was reclining at table in his house; and many publicans and sinners were reclining with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many, and scribes of the Pharisees were also following him.
Als Jesus nun in Levis Haus zu Gast war, nahmen auch viele Zöllner und Sünder mit Jesus und seinen Jüngern am Mahl teil; denn eine große Zahl von ihnen hatte sich Jesus angeschlossen.
16 And when they saw that he was eating with the publicans and sinners, they said to his disciples, Doth he eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
Als ihn aber einige Schriftgelehrte, die zu den Pharisäern gehörten, mit Sündern und Zöllnern essen sahen, sprachen sie zu seinen Jüngern: "Mit Zöllnern und Sündern ißt er?"
17 And Jesus hearing it, saith to them, They who are well do not need a physician, but they who are sick. I came not to call righteous men, but sinners.
Jesus hörte das und sprach zu ihnen: "Nicht die Gesunden bedürfen des Arztes, sondern die Kranken. Ich bin nicht gekommen, um Gerechte zu berufen, sondern Sünder."
18 And the disciples of John and the Pharisees were fasting; and they come and say to him, Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, and thy disciples fast not?
Die Jünger des Johannes und der Pharisäer fasteten einst. Da kamen die Leute zu Jesus und fragten ihn: "Warum fasten die Jünger des Johannes und die Jünger der Pharisäer (so viel), währen deine Jünger nicht fasten?"
19 And Jesus said to them, Can the companions of the bridegroom fast, while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
Jesus antwortete ihnen: "Können denn die Hochzeitsgäste fasten, solange der Bräutigam bei ihnen ist? Solange sie den Bräutigam bei sich haben, können sie nicht fasten.
20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and then will they fast in that day.
Es kommt aber die Zeit, wo ihnen der Bräutigam entrissen ist: dann werden sie fasten.
21 No one seweth a patch of undressed cloth on an old garment; for the new piece teareth away from the old garment, and a worse rent is made.
Niemand setzt einen Flicken von neuem Tuch auf ein altes Kleid. Sonst reißt der neue Einsatz noch an anderen Stellen etwas von dem alten Kleid weg, und der Riß wird desto ärger.
22 And no one putteth new wine into old skins; for the new wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost, and the skins.
Es gießt auch niemand neuen Wein in alte Schläuche. Sonst zerreißt der Wein die Schläuche, und dann geht der Wein samt den Schläuchen verloren. Drum soll man neuen Wein in neue Schläuche gießen."
23 And it came to pass, that he was going through the grain-fields on the sabbath, and his disciples began, as they went along, to pluck the ears of grain.
Einst ging er am Sabbat durch Getreidefelder. Beim Gehen begannen seine Jünger Ähren abzureißen.
24 And the Pharisees said to him, See, why are they doing on the sabbath that which is not lawful?
Da sprachen die Pharisäer zu ihm: "Sieh doch! warum tun sie etwas, was man am Sabbat nicht darf?"
25 And he saith to them, Did ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry, himself and they who were with him?
Er antwortete ihnen: "Habt ihr nie gelesen, was David tat, als er nichts zu essen hatte und ihn und seine Begleiter hungerte?
26 how he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high-priest, and ate the show-bread, which it is lawful for none but the priests to eat, and gave also to those who were with him?
Wie er zur Zeit des Hohenpriesters Abjatar in das Haus Gottes ging und die Schaubrote aß, die nur die Priester essen dürfen, und auch seinen Gefährten davon gab?"
27 And he said to them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath.
Dann fuhr er fort: "Der Sabbat ist da um des Menschen willen und nicht der Mensch um des Sabbats willen.
28 So that the Son of man is lord even of the sabbath.
Darum ist der Menschensohn auch über den Sabbat Herr."
