Mark 2
1 And after some days he again entered Capernaum; and it was reported that he was in the house.
Or il entra de nouveau dans Capharnaüm, quelques jours après.
2 And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room for them, even at the door; and he was speaking the word to them.
Et lorsqu’on apprit qu’il était dans une maison, il s’y assembla une si grande foule de personnes, que l’espace même en dehors de la porte ne pouvait les contenir; et il leur prêchait la parole.
3 And they come to him, bringing one that was palsied, borne by four men.
Alors on lui amena un paralytique qui était porté par quatre hommes.
4 And not being able to bring him to him on account of the crowd, they took off the roof where he was; and when they had broken an opening, they let down the bed whereon the palsied man lay.
Et comme ils ne pouvaient le lui présenter à cause de la foule, ils découvrirent le toit au-dessus du lieu où il était, et y ayant fait une ouverture, ils descendirent le grabat où gisait le paralytique.
5 And Jesus seeing their faith, saith to the palsied man, Son, thy sins are forgiven.
Jésus voyant leur foi, dit au paralytique: Mon fils, tes péchés te sont remis.
6 But there were some of the scribes sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,
Or il y avait là quelques scribes, assis, qui pensaient dans leur cœur:
7 Why doth this man speak thus? He blasphemeth; who can forgive sins but God only?
Pourquoi celui-ci parle-t-il ainsi? Il blasphème. Qui peut remettre les péchés, sinon Dieu seul?
8 And Jesus immediately perceiving in his spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, saith to them, Why do ye reason thus in your hearts?
Jésus, aussitôt, ayant connu par son esprit ce qu’ils pensaient en eux-mêmes, leur dit: Pourquoi pensez-vous ces choses dans vos cœurs?
9 Which is easier? to say to the palsied man, Thy sins are forgiven? or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed and go?
Lequel est le plus facile, de dire au paralytique: Tes péchés te sont remis; ou de lui dire: Lève-toi, emporte ton grabat, et marche?
10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins, —he saith to the palsied man, —
Afin donc que vous sachiez que le Fils de l’Homme a sur la terre le pouvoir de remettre les péchés (il dit au paralytique):
11 I say to thee, Arise, take up thy bed and go to thy house.
Je te le commande, lève-toi, emporte ton grabat, et va en ta maison.
12 And he arose, and immediately took up the bed and went forth before them all; so that they were all amazed, and gave glory to God, saying, We never saw it thus.
Et aussitôt celui-ci se leva; et, ayant pris son grabat, il s’en alla en présence de tous: de sorte que tous s’étonnaient et glorifiaient Dieu, disant: Jamais nous n’avons rien vu de semblable.
13 And he went forth again to the lake; and all the multitude came to him, and he taught them.
Or Jésus se retira de nouveau près de la mer: et tout le peuple venait à lui, et il les enseignait.
14 And passing along, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the custom-house; and he saith to him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
Et lorsqu’il passait, il vit Lévi, fils d’Alphée, assis au bureau des impôts, et il lui dit: Suis-moi. Et se levant, il le suivit.
15 And it happened that he was reclining at table in his house; and many publicans and sinners were reclining with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many, and scribes of the Pharisees were also following him.
Il arriva que comme Jésus était à table dans la maison de cet homme, beaucoup de publicains et de pécheurs y étaient également avec lui et ses disciples; car il y en avait beaucoup qui le suivaient aussi.
16 And when they saw that he was eating with the publicans and sinners, they said to his disciples, Doth he eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
Les scribes et les pharisiens, voyant qu’il mangeait avec les publicains et les pécheurs, dirent à ses disciples: Pourquoi votre maître mange-t-il et boit-il avec les publicains et les pécheurs?
17 And Jesus hearing it, saith to them, They who are well do not need a physician, but they who are sick. I came not to call righteous men, but sinners.
Ce que Jésus ayant entendu, il leur dit: Ce ne sont pas ceux qui se portent bien qui ont besoin de médecin, mais les malades; car je ne suis pas venu appeler les justes, mais les pécheurs.
18 And the disciples of John and the Pharisees were fasting; and they come and say to him, Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, and thy disciples fast not?
Les disciples de Jean et les pharisiens jeûnaient; or ils vinrent et lui dirent: Pourquoi les disciples de Jean et ceux des pharisiens jeûnent-ils, et que vos disciples ne jeûnent point?
19 And Jesus said to them, Can the companions of the bridegroom fast, while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
Jésus leur dit: Les fils des noces peuvent-ils jeûner pendant que l’époux est avec eux? Aussi longtemps qu’ils ont avec eux l’époux, ils ne peuvent jeûner.
20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and then will they fast in that day.
Mais viendront des jours où l’époux leur sera enlevé; et ils jeûneront en ces jours-là.
21 No one seweth a patch of undressed cloth on an old garment; for the new piece teareth away from the old garment, and a worse rent is made.
Personne ne coud une pièce d’étoffe neuve à un vieux vêtement; autrement l’étoffe neuve emporte une partie de la vieille, et la déchirure devient plus grande,
22 And no one putteth new wine into old skins; for the new wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost, and the skins.
Et personne ne met du vin nouveau dans de vieilles outres, autrement le vin rompra les outres, et le vin se répandra, et les outres seront perdues: mais le vin nouveau doit se mettre dans des outres neuves.
23 And it came to pass, that he was going through the grain-fields on the sabbath, and his disciples began, as they went along, to pluck the ears of grain.
Il arriva encore que le Seigneur passant le long des blés, un jour de sabbat, ses disciples se mirent à cueillir des épis.
24 And the Pharisees said to him, See, why are they doing on the sabbath that which is not lawful?
Sur quoi les pharisiens lui dirent: Voyez, pourquoi font-ils le jour du sabbat ce qui n’est pas permis?
25 And he saith to them, Did ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry, himself and they who were with him?
Et il leur répondit: N’avez-vous jamais lu ce que fit David, dans la nécessité, lorsqu’il eut faim, lui et ceux qui étaient avec lui?
26 how he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high-priest, and ate the show-bread, which it is lawful for none but the priests to eat, and gave also to those who were with him?
Comment il entra dans la maison de Dieu, au temps du grand prêtre Abiathar, mangea les pains de proposition qu’il n’était permis qu’aux prêtres de manger, et les donna à ceux qui étaient avec lui?
27 And he said to them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath.
Il leur dit encore: Le sabbat a été fait pour l’homme, et non l’homme pour le sabbat.
28 So that the Son of man is lord even of the sabbath.
C’est pourquoi le Fils de l’homme est maître du sabbat même.
