Mark 2
1 And after some days he again entered Capernaum; and it was reported that he was in the house.
Quelques jours après, Jésus revint à Capernaüm, et l'on apprit qu'il était dans la maison.
2 And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room for them, even at the door; and he was speaking the word to them.
Il s'y assembla tant de monde, qu'il n'y avait plus de place même devant la porte; et il leur annonçait la parole.
3 And they come to him, bringing one that was palsied, borne by four men.
Alors, il vint des gens qui lui amenaient un paralytique, porté par quatre hommes.
4 And not being able to bring him to him on account of the crowd, they took off the roof where he was; and when they had broken an opening, they let down the bed whereon the palsied man lay.
Mais, ne pouvant arriver jusqu'à lui à cause de la foule, ils découvrirent le toit au-dessus de l'endroit où il était; et, par l'ouverture, ils descendirent le lit sur lequel le paralytique était couché.
5 And Jesus seeing their faith, saith to the palsied man, Son, thy sins are forgiven.
Jésus, voyant leur foi, dit au paralytique: Mon enfant, tes péchés te sont pardonnés.
6 But there were some of the scribes sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,
Or, il y avait là quelques scribes qui se tenaient assis, et ils faisaient ce raisonnement dans leur coeur:
7 Why doth this man speak thus? He blasphemeth; who can forgive sins but God only?
Pourquoi cet homme parle-t-il ainsi? Il blasphème! Qui peut pardonner les péchés, que Dieu seul?
8 And Jesus immediately perceiving in his spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, saith to them, Why do ye reason thus in your hearts?
Aussitôt Jésus, ayant connu en son esprit qu'ils raisonnaient ainsi en eux-mêmes, leur dit: Pourquoi faites-vous ces raisonnements dans vos coeurs?
9 Which is easier? to say to the palsied man, Thy sins are forgiven? or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed and go?
Lequel est le plus aisé, de dire au paralytique: Tes péchés te sont pardonnés. ou de dire: Lève-toi, prends ton lit, et marche?
10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins, —he saith to the palsied man, —
Or, — afin que vous sachiez que le Fils de l'homme a sur la terre le pouvoir de pardonner les péchés, —
11 I say to thee, Arise, take up thy bed and go to thy house.
je te l'ordonne, dit-il au paralytique, lève-toi, prends ton lit, et va dans ta maison.
12 And he arose, and immediately took up the bed and went forth before them all; so that they were all amazed, and gave glory to God, saying, We never saw it thus.
Cet homme se leva, et aussitôt, ayant pris son lit, il sortit en présence de tout le monde; de sorte qu'ils étaient tous dans l'étonnement, et ils glorifiaient Dieu en disant: Nous n'avons jamais rien vu de pareil!
13 And he went forth again to the lake; and all the multitude came to him, and he taught them.
Alors Jésus retourna du côté de la mer; tout le peuple venait à lui, et il les enseignait.
14 And passing along, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the custom-house; and he saith to him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
En passant, il vit Lévi, fils d'Alphée, assis au bureau du péage. Il lui dit: Suis-moi; et lui, se levant, le suivit.
15 And it happened that he was reclining at table in his house; and many publicans and sinners were reclining with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many, and scribes of the Pharisees were also following him.
Comme Jésus était à table dans la maison de Lévi, beaucoup de péagers et de pécheurs se mirent à table avec lui et ses disciples; car il y en avait beaucoup qui l'avaient suivi.
16 And when they saw that he was eating with the publicans and sinners, they said to his disciples, Doth he eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
Les scribes appartenant au parti des pharisiens, voyant qu'il mangeait avec des péagers et des pécheurs, disaient à ses disciples: Il mange avec des péagers et des pécheurs!
17 And Jesus hearing it, saith to them, They who are well do not need a physician, but they who are sick. I came not to call righteous men, but sinners.
Jésus, ayant entendu cela, leur dit: Ce ne sont pas ceux qui se portent bien qui ont besoin de médecin, mais ceux qui se portent mal. Je ne suis pas venu appeler les justes, mais les pécheurs.
18 And the disciples of John and the Pharisees were fasting; and they come and say to him, Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, and thy disciples fast not?
Or, les disciples de Jean et les pharisiens jeûnaient. Ils vinrent dire à Jésus: D'où vient que les disciples de Jean et ceux des pharisiens jeûnent, et que tes disciples ne jeûnent pas?
19 And Jesus said to them, Can the companions of the bridegroom fast, while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
Jésus leur répondit: Les amis de l'époux peuvent-ils jeûner pendant que l'époux est avec eux? Tant qu'ils ont l'époux avec eux, ils ne peuvent jeûner.
20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and then will they fast in that day.
Mais le temps viendra où l'époux leur sera ôté; alors ils jeûneront ce jour-là.
21 No one seweth a patch of undressed cloth on an old garment; for the new piece teareth away from the old garment, and a worse rent is made.
Personne ne coud une pièce de drap neuf à un vieux vêtement; autrement, la pièce neuve emporte une partie du vieux drap, et la déchirure en devient pire.
22 And no one putteth new wine into old skins; for the new wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost, and the skins.
Et personne ne met du vin nouveau dans de vieilles outres; autrement, le vin fait rompre les outres; le vin est perdu, et les outres aussi.
23 And it came to pass, that he was going through the grain-fields on the sabbath, and his disciples began, as they went along, to pluck the ears of grain.
Il arriva, comme Jésus passait par les blés un jour de sabbat, que ses disciples, chemin faisant, se mirent à arracher des épis.
24 And the Pharisees said to him, See, why are they doing on the sabbath that which is not lawful?
Alors les pharisiens lui dirent: Regarde! Pourquoi font-ils ce qui n'est pas permis le jour du sabbat?
25 And he saith to them, Did ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry, himself and they who were with him?
Il leur répondit: N'avez-vous jamais lu ce que fit David, lorsqu'il fut dans le besoin et qu'il eut faim, lui et ceux qui étaient avec lui;
26 how he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high-priest, and ate the show-bread, which it is lawful for none but the priests to eat, and gave also to those who were with him?
comment il entra dans la maison de Dieu, du temps d'Abiathar, souverain sacrificateur, et mangea les pains de proposition — qu'il est permis aux sacrificateurs seuls de manger — et comment il en donna même à ceux qui étaient avec lui?
27 And he said to them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath.
Puis Jésus ajouta: Le sabbat a été fait pour l'homme, et non pas l'homme pour le sabbat.
28 So that the Son of man is lord even of the sabbath.
Ainsi le Fils de l'homme est maître même du sabbat.
