Mark 2
1 And after some days he again entered Capernaum; and it was reported that he was in the house.
Après une absence de quelques jours, Jésus rentra à Capernaoum. Aussitôt qu'on sut qu'il était de retour chez lui,
2 And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room for them, even at the door; and he was speaking the word to them.
il se fit un tel attroupement, que la place même qui est devant sa porte ne suffisait plus. Jésus leur annonça la Parole.
3 And they come to him, bringing one that was palsied, borne by four men.
Il vint des gens qui lui amenèrent un paralytique porté par quatre hommes.
4 And not being able to bring him to him on account of the crowd, they took off the roof where he was; and when they had broken an opening, they let down the bed whereon the palsied man lay.
Comme ils ne pouvaient arriver jusqu’à lui, à cause de la foule, ils découvrirent le toit à l'endroit où était Jésus, et par cette ouverture, ils descendirent le lit sur lequel le paralytique était couché.
5 And Jesus seeing their faith, saith to the palsied man, Son, thy sins are forgiven.
Jésus voyant leur foi, dit au paralytique: «Mon enfant, tes péchés sont pardonnés.»
6 But there were some of the scribes sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,
Or il y avait là, assis, des scribes qui se disaient en eux-mêmes:
7 Why doth this man speak thus? He blasphemeth; who can forgive sins but God only?
«Pourquoi cet homme profère-t-il ainsi des blasphèmes? Qui peut pardonner les péchés, que Dieu seul?»
8 And Jesus immediately perceiving in his spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, saith to them, Why do ye reason thus in your hearts?
Jésus, ayant immédiatement connu, par son esprit, quelles étaient leurs pensées, leur dit: «Pourquoi avez-vous ces pensées dans vos coeurs?
9 Which is easier? to say to the palsied man, Thy sins are forgiven? or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed and go?
Lequel est le plus aisé, de dire au paralytique: Tes péchés sont pardonnés, ou de dire: Lève-toi, prends ton lit et marche?
10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins, —he saith to the palsied man, —
Or, afin que vous sachiez que le Fils de l'homme a sur la terre le pouvoir de pardonner les péchés:
11 I say to thee, Arise, take up thy bed and go to thy house.
«Je te le commande, dit-il au paralytique, lève-toi, prends ton lit et t'en va dans ta maison.»
12 And he arose, and immediately took up the bed and went forth before them all; so that they were all amazed, and gave glory to God, saying, We never saw it thus.
A l'instant, le paralytique se leva, prit son lit, et sortit en présence de tout le monde, de sorte qu'ils étaient tous stupéfaits, et glorifiaient Dieu, disant: «Nous n'avons jamais rien vu de pareil.»
13 And he went forth again to the lake; and all the multitude came to him, and he taught them.
Jésus sortit de nouveau pour aller au bord de la mer: tout le peuple venait vers lui, et il l'enseignait.
14 And passing along, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the custom-house; and he saith to him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
En passant, il vit Lévi, fils d'Alphée, qui était assis au bureau des péages, et il lui dit: Suis-moi. Celui-ci se leva et le suivit. e
15 And it happened that he was reclining at table in his house; and many publicans and sinners were reclining with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many, and scribes of the Pharisees were also following him.
Jésus était à table dans sa maison, et plusieurs publicains et gens de mauvaise vie — car il y en avait beaucoup à Capernaoum, et ils suivaient. Jésus — se trouvaient à table avec lui et avec ses disciples.
16 And when they saw that he was eating with the publicans and sinners, they said to his disciples, Doth he eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
Les scribes et les pharisiens le voyant manger avec, des publicains et des gens de mauvaise vie, dirent à ses disciples: «Comment se fait-il qu'il mange et boive avec les gens de mauvaise vie et les publicains?»
17 And Jesus hearing it, saith to them, They who are well do not need a physician, but they who are sick. I came not to call righteous men, but sinners.
Jésus, les ayant entendus, leur dit: «Ce ne sont pas les bien portants qui ont besoin de médecin, mais ceux qui se portent mal: je ne suis pas venu appeler les justes, mais les pécheurs.»
18 And the disciples of John and the Pharisees were fasting; and they come and say to him, Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, and thy disciples fast not?
Les disciples de Jean et les pharisiens qui jeûnaient, vinrent vers Jésus, et lui dirent: «Pourquoi les disciples de Jean et ceux des pharisiens jeûnent-ils, tandis que tes disciples ne jeûnent point?»
19 And Jesus said to them, Can the companions of the bridegroom fast, while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
Et Jésus leur dit: «Les amis de l'époux peuvent-ils jeûner pendant que l'époux est avec eux? Tant qu'ils ont l'époux avec eux, ils ne peuvent jeûner.
20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and then will they fast in that day.
Le temps viendra où l’époux leur sera ôté; et ils jeûneront en ce jour-là.
21 No one seweth a patch of undressed cloth on an old garment; for the new piece teareth away from the old garment, and a worse rent is made.
On ne coud pas une pièce de drap neuf à un vieux habit; autrement, la pièce de drap neuf mise au vieux habit en emporte un morceau, et il se fait une déchirure pire.
22 And no one putteth new wine into old skins; for the new wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost, and the skins.
Et l'on ne met pas du vin nouveau dans de vieilles outres; autrement, le vin fait rompre les outres, et le vin est perdu, ainsi que les outres.»
23 And it came to pass, that he was going through the grain-fields on the sabbath, and his disciples began, as they went along, to pluck the ears of grain.
Un jour de sabbat, Jésus passait par les blés, et, chemin faisant, ses disciples se mirent à arracher des épis.
24 And the Pharisees said to him, See, why are they doing on the sabbath that which is not lawful?
Les pharisiens lui dirent: «Vois donc! pourquoi font-ils ce qui n'est pas permis le jour du sabbat?»
25 And he saith to them, Did ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry, himself and they who were with him?
Et Jésus leur dit: «N'avez-vous jamais lu ce que fit David dans le besoin où il se trouva, lorsqu'il eut faim, lui et ceux qui étaient avec lui:
26 how he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high-priest, and ate the show-bread, which it is lawful for none but the priests to eat, and gave also to those who were with him?
comment il entra dans la maison de Dieu, du temps du souverain sacrificateur Abiathar, et mangea les pains de proposition, que les sacrificateurs seuls ont le droit de manger, et en donna même à ceux qui l'accompagnaient?
27 And he said to them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath.
Le sabbat, ajouta Jésus, a été fait pour l'homme, non l'homme pour le sabbat,
28 So that the Son of man is lord even of the sabbath.
de sorte que le Fils de l'homme est maître même du sabbat.»
