Mark 14
1 And two days after was the passover, and the feast of unleavened bread; and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might seize him by craft, and put him to death.
௧இரண்டு நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பம் சாப்பிடுகிற பஸ்காபண்டிகை வந்தது. அப்பொழுது பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களும் வேதபண்டிதர்களும், அவரைத் தந்திரமாகப் பிடித்துக் கொலைசெய்யும்படி வழிதேடினார்கள்.
2 For they said, Not at the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people.
௨ஆனாலும் மக்களுக்குள்ளே கலவரம் உண்டாகாதபடி, பண்டிகையிலே அப்படிச் செய்யக்கூடாது என்றார்கள்.
3 And when he was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he was reclining at table, there came a woman having an alabaster bottle of ointment of pure spikenard, very precious; and breaking the bottle, she poured it on his head.
௩அவர் பெத்தானியாவில் குஷ்டரோகியாக இருந்த சீமோன் வீட்டிலே சாப்பிட்டுக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, ஒரு பெண் விலையுயர்ந்த நளதம் என்னும் சுத்தமான தைலத்தை ஒரு வெள்ளைக்கல் ஜாடியில் கொண்டுவந்து, அதை உடைத்து, அந்தத் தைலத்தை அவர் தலையின்மேல் ஊற்றினாள்.
4 And there were some that were much displeased, [[and said]] among themselves, Why is this waste of the ointment made?
௪அப்பொழுது சிலர் தங்களுக்குள்ளே கோபப்பட்டு: இந்தத் தைலத்தை இப்படி வீணாகச் செலவழிப்பது ஏன்?
5 For this ointment might have been sold for more than three hundred denaries, and given to the poor. And they chid her harshly.
௫இதை முந்நூறு வெள்ளிக்காசுகளுக்கு அதிகமான விலைக்கு விற்று, ஏழைகளுக்குக் கொடுக்கலாமே என்று சொல்லி, அவளைப்பற்றி முறுமுறுத்தார்கள்.
6 But Jesus said, Let her alone; why do ye trouble her? A good deed hath she done for me.
௬இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: அவளை விட்டுவிடுங்கள்; ஏன் அவளைத் தொந்தரவு பண்ணுகிறீர்கள்? என்னிடம் நற்கிரியையைச் செய்திருக்கிறாள்.
7 For the poor ye have always with you, and whenever ye will, ye can do good to them; but me ye have not always.
௭ஏழைகள் எப்பொழுதும் உங்களிடம் இருக்கிறார்கள், உங்களுக்கு விருப்பம் உண்டாகும்போதெல்லாம் அவர்களுக்கு நன்மை செய்யலாம், நானோ எப்பொழுதும் உங்களிடம் இருக்கமாட்டேன்.
8 She hath done what she could; she hath anointed my body beforehand for its burial.
௮இவள் தன்னால் முடிந்ததைச் செய்தாள்; நான் அடக்கம்பண்ணப்படுவதற்கு அடையாளமாக, என் சரீரத்தில் தைலம் பூச முந்திக்கொண்டாள்.
9 And truly do I say to you, Wherever the glad tidings shall be published throughout the whole world, this too which she hath done will be told for a memorial of her.
௯இந்த நற்செய்தி உலகத்தில் எங்கெல்லாம் பிரசங்கிக்கப்படுகிறதோ அங்கெல்லாம் இவளை நினைப்பதற்காக இவள் செய்ததும் சொல்லப்படும் என்று உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
10 And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests, that he might deliver him up to them.
௧0அப்பொழுது, பன்னிரண்டுபேரில் ஒருவனாகிய யூதாஸ்காரியோத்து என்பவன் அவரைப் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களுக்குக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பதற்காக அவர்களிடம் போனான்.
11 And they when they heard it were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought a good opportunity to deliver him up.
௧௧அவர்கள் அதைக்கேட்டு, சந்தோஷப்பட்டு, அவனுக்குப் பணம் கொடுக்கிறோம் என்று வாக்குக்கொடுத்தார்கள்; அவன் அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பதற்கு ஏற்ற நேரத்தைப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.
12 And on the first day of the feast of unleavened bread, when they used to kill the passover, his disciples say to him, Where wilt thou that we go and make ready for thee to eat the passover?
௧௨பஸ்காவைப் பலியிடும் நாளாகிய புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பம் சாப்பிடுகிற முதலாம் நாளில், அவருடைய சீடர்கள் அவரிடம் வந்து: நீர் பஸ்காவைப் புசிப்பதற்கு நாங்கள் எங்குபோய் ஆயத்தம்பண்ண விருப்பமாக இருக்கிறீர் என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
13 And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith to them, Go into the city, and there will meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water; follow him;
௧௩அவர் தம்முடைய சீடர்களில் இரண்டுபேரைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் நகரத்திற்குள்ளே போங்கள், அங்கே தண்ணீர் குடம் சுமந்துகொண்டு வருகிற ஒரு மனிதன் உங்களுக்கு எதிராக வருவான், அவன் பின்னே போங்கள்;
14 and wherever he goeth in, say to the master of the house, The Teacher saith, Where is my guest-chamber, where I may eat the passover with my disciples?
௧௪அவன் எந்த வீட்டிற்குள் செல்கிறானோ அந்த வீட்டு முதலாளியை நீங்கள் பார்த்து: நான் என் சீடர்களுடன் பஸ்காவைப் புசிக்கிறதற்குத் தகுதியான இடம் எங்கே என்று போதகர் கேட்கிறார் என்று சொல்லுங்கள்.
15 And he will show you a large upper room furnished and prepared; and there make ready for us.
௧௫அவன் கம்பளம் விரித்து ஆயத்தம்பண்ணப்பட்டிருக்கிற வசதியான மேல்வீட்டறையை உங்களுக்குக் காட்டுவான்; அங்கே நமக்காக பஸ்காவை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணுங்கள் என்று சொல்லி அனுப்பினார்.
16 And the disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had told them; and they made ready the passover.
௧௬அப்படியே, அவருடைய சீடர்கள் புறப்பட்டு நகரத்தில்போய், தங்களுக்கு அவர் சொன்னபடியே, பஸ்காவை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்.
17 And when it was evening, he cometh with the twelve.
௧௭மாலைநேரத்தில், அவர் பன்னிரண்டுபேரோடு சேர்ந்து அந்த இடத்திற்கு வந்தார்.
18 And as they were reclining at table and eating, Jesus said, Truly do I say to you, that one of you will betray me, —one that is eating with me.
௧௮அவர்கள் பந்தி உட்கார்ந்து சாப்பிடும்போது, இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: என்னோடு சாப்பிடுகிற உங்களில் ஒருவன் என்னைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பான் என்று, உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
19 They began to be sorrowful, and to say to him one by one, Is it I?
௧௯அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் துக்கப்பட்டு: நானோ? நானோ? என்று ஒவ்வொருவரும், அவரிடம் கேட்கத்தொடங்கினார்கள்.
20 And he said to them, It is one of the twelve, one that is dipping with me in the dish.
௨0அவர் மறுமொழியாக: என்னோடு பாத்திரத்தில் கையைவிடுகிற பன்னிரண்டுபேர்களில் ஒருவனே என்று சொல்லி;
21 For the Son of man indeed goeth away, as it hath been written concerning him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! Well were it for that man if he had not been born.
௨௧மனிதகுமாரன் தம்மைக்குறித்து எழுதியிருக்கிறபடியே போகிறார்; ஆனாலும், எந்த மனிதனால் மனிதகுமாரன் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கப்படுகிறாரோ, அந்த மனிதனுக்கு ஐயோ! அந்த மனிதன் பிறக்காமல் இருந்திருந்தால் அவனுக்கு நல்லதாக இருக்கும் என்றார்.
22 And as they were eating, he took a loaf, and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to them, and said, Take; this is my body.
௨௨அவர்கள் சாப்பிடும்போது, இயேசு அப்பத்தை எடுத்து ஆசீர்வதித்து, அதைப் பிட்டு, அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்து: நீங்கள் வாங்கிப் புசியுங்கள், இது என்னுடைய சரீரமாக இருக்கிறது என்றார்.
23 And he took a cup, and having given thanks, gave it to them; and they all drank of it.
௨௩பின்பு, பாத்திரத்தையும் எடுத்து, ஸ்தோத்திரம்பண்ணி, அதை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார். அவர்களெல்லோரும் அதிலே பானம்பண்ணினார்கள்.
24 And he said to them, This is my blood of the covenant, which is shed for many.
௨௪அப்பொழுது அவர் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: இது அநேகருக்காகச் சிந்தப்படுகிற புதிய உடன்படிக்கைக்குரிய என்னுடைய இரத்தமாக இருக்கிறது.
25 Truly do I say to you, I shall not drink hereafter of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
௨௫நான் தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தில் புதிய இரசத்தைப் பானம்பண்ணும் நாள்வரை திராட்சைப்பழரசத்தை இனி நான் பானம்பண்ணுவதில்லை என்று உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
26 And having sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
௨௬அவர்கள் ஸ்தோத்திரப்பாட்டைப் பாடினபின்பு, ஒலிவமலைக்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்.
27 And Jesus saith to them, Ye will all fall away from me; for it is written, “I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.”
௨௭அப்பொழுது, இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: மேய்ப்பனை வெட்டுவேன், ஆடுகள் சிதறடிக்கப்படும், என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி, இந்த இராத்திரியிலே நீங்களெல்லோரும் என்னால் இடறல் அடைவீர்கள்.
28 But after I have risen, I will go before you into Galilee.
௨௮ஆனாலும் நான் உயிரோடு எழுந்தபின்பு, உங்களுக்கு முன்பாக கலிலேயாவிற்குப் போவேன் என்றார்.
29 But Peter said to him, Even if all shall fall away, yet will not I.
௨௯அதற்கு பேதுரு: உமதுநிமித்தம் எல்லோரும் இடறல் அடைந்தாலும், நான் இடறல் அடையமாட்டேன் என்றான்.
30 And Jesus saith to him, Truly do I say to thee, that even thou, to-day, on this night, before a cock crow twice, wilt thrice deny me.
௩0இயேசு அவனைப் பார்த்து: இன்றைக்கு, இந்த இராத்திரியிலே, சேவல் இரண்டுமுறை கூவுகிறதற்கு முன்பு, நீ மூன்றுமுறை என்னை மறுதலிப்பாய் என்று உண்மையாகவே உனக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
31 But he spoke the more vehemently: If I must die with thee, I will not deny thee. And so also said they all.
௩௧அதற்கு அவன்: நான் உம்மோடு மரித்துப்போவதாக இருந்தாலும் உம்மை மறுதலிக்கமாட்டேன் என்று உறுதியாகச் சொன்னான்; எல்லோரும் அப்படியே சொன்னார்கள்.
32 And they come to a place called Gethsemane; and he saith to his disciples, Sit here, while I pray.
௩௨பின்பு கெத்செமனே என்னப்பட்ட இடத்திற்கு வந்தார்கள். அப்பொழுது அவர் தம்முடைய சீடர்களைப் பார்த்து: நான் ஜெபம்பண்ணும்வரை இங்கே உட்கார்ந்திருங்கள் என்று சொல்லி;
33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John; and began to be in great consternation and anguish.
௩௩பேதுருவையும், யாக்கோபையும், யோவானையும் தம்மோடு கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோய், கலக்கமடையவும், வியாகுலப்படவும் தொடங்கினார்.
34 And he saith to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death; remain here and watch.
௩௪அப்பொழுது அவர்: என் ஆத்துமா மரணத்திற்கான துக்கத்தில் உள்ளது. நீங்கள் இங்கே தங்கி, விழித்திருங்கள் என்று சொல்லி,
35 And going on a little farther, he fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it was possible, the hour might pass from him.
௩௫சற்று தள்ளிப்போய், தரையிலே விழுந்து, அந்த நேரம் தம்மைவிட்டுக் கடந்துபோகக்கூடுமானால் அது கடந்துபோகவேண்டும் என்று வேண்டிக்கொண்டு:
36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible to thee! take away this cup from me. But not what I will, but what thou wilt.
௩௬அப்பா பிதாவே, எல்லாம் உம்மாலே முடியும்; இந்தப் பாத்திரத்தை என்னிடத்திலிருந்து எடுத்துப்போடும், ஆனாலும் என்னுடைய விருப்பத்தின்படி அல்ல, உம்முடைய விருப்பத்தின்படியே நடக்கட்டும் என்றார்.
37 And he cometh and findeth them sleeping; and he saith to Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? Couldst not thou watch one hour?
௩௭பின்பு அவர் வந்து, அவர்கள் தூங்குகிறதைப் பார்த்து, பேதுருவைப் பார்த்து: சீமோனே, தூங்குகிறாயா? ஒருமணிநேரம் நீ விழித்திருக்கக்கூடாதா?
38 Watch, and pray that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
௩௮நீங்கள் சோதனையில் விழாமலிருக்க விழித்திருந்து ஜெபம்பண்ணுங்கள். ஆவி உற்சாகமுள்ளதுதான், சரீரமோ பலவீனமுள்ளது என்றார்.
39 And again he went away and prayed, saying the same words.
௩௯அவர் மீண்டும்போய் அந்த வார்த்தைகளையே சொல்லி ஜெபம்பண்ணினார்.
40 And returning, he found them again sleeping, for their eyes were heavy; and they knew not what to answer him.
௪0அவர் திரும்ப வந்தபோது, அவர்கள் மீண்டும் தூங்கிக்கொண்டிருப்பதைப் பார்த்தார்; அவர்களுடைய கண்கள் தூக்கமயக்கத்தில் இருந்ததால், தாங்கள் மறுமொழியாக அவருக்கு என்ன பதில் சொல்லுவது என்று தெரியாமல் இருந்தார்கள்.
41 And he cometh the third time, and saith to them, Sleep on, and take your rest! It is enough! the hour is come: lo! the Son of man is delivered up into the hands of sinners.
௪௧அவர் மூன்றாம்முறை வந்து: இன்னும் நித்திரைசெய்து இளைப்பாறுகிறீர்களா? போதும், நேரம்வந்தது, இதோ, மனிதகுமாரன் பாவிகளுடைய கைகளில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுகிறார்.
42 Rise, let us be going; lo! he that delivereth me up is at hand.
௪௨என்னைக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கிறவன், இதோ, வந்துவிட்டான், எழுந்திருங்கள், போகலாம் என்றார்.
43 And immediately, while he was yet speaking, cometh Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, and with him a multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the scribes and elders.
௪௩உடனே, அவர் இப்படிப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, பன்னிரண்டுபேரில் ஒருவனாகிய யூதாஸ் வந்தான்; அவனுடன் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களும், வேதபண்டிதர்களும் மூப்பர்களும் அனுப்பின மக்கள்கூட்டத்தினர், பட்டயங்களையும் தடிகளையும் பிடித்துக்கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.
44 And his betrayer had given them a signal, saying, Whomever I shall kiss, he is the man; seize him, and lead him away securely.
௪௪அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கிறவன்: நான் யாரை முத்தம் செய்கிறேனோ அவன்தான், அவனைப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டுபோங்கள் என்று அவர்களுக்கு அடையாளம் சொல்லியிருந்தான்.
45 And on coming he immediately went up to him, and said, Rabbi! and kissed him.
௪௫அவன் வந்தவுடனே, இயேசுவின் அருகில் சென்று: ரபீ, ரபீ, என்று சொல்லி, அவரை முத்தம்செய்தான்.
46 And they laid hands on him and seized him.
௪௬அப்பொழுது மக்கள்கூட்டத்தினர் அவர்மேல் கைபோட்டு, அவரைப் பிடித்தார்கள்.
47 And one of those who stood by drew his sword, and smote the servant of the high-priest, and cut off his ear.
௪௭அப்பொழுது அருகில் நின்ற சீடன் ஒருவன் கத்தியை உருவி, பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய வேலைக்காரனின் காதை வெட்டினான்.
48 And Jesus answering said to them, Ye have come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs, to take me.
௪௮இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: திருடனைப்பிடிக்கப் போகிறதைப்போல, நீங்கள் பட்டயங்களையும் தடிகளையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு என்னைப் பிடிக்கவந்தீர்கள்;
49 I was daily with you in the temple, teaching, and ye did not lay hands on me; but [[thus it is]], that the Scriptures may be fulfilled.
௪௯நான் தினமும் உங்கள் நடுவிலே தேவாலயத்தில் உபதேசம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தேன்; அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் என்னைப் பிடிக்கவில்லையே; ஆனாலும் வேதவாக்கியங்கள் நிறைவேற வேண்டியதாக இருக்கிறது என்றார்.
50 And all forsook him and fled.
௫0அப்பொழுது எல்லோரும் அவரைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போனார்கள்.
51 And there followed him a certain young man having a linen cloth wrapped round his naked body; and they laid hold of him.
௫௧ஒரு வாலிபன் ஒரு போர்வையைமட்டும் தன்மேல் போர்த்துக்கொண்டு அவர் பின்னால் போனான்; அவனைப் பிடித்தார்கள்.
52 And he left the linen cloth behind, and fled naked.
௫௨அவன் தன் போர்வையைப் போட்டுவிட்டு, நிர்வாணமாக அவர்களைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போனான்.
53 And they led Jesus away to the high-priest; and all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes come together.
௫௩இயேசுவை அவர்கள் பிரதான ஆசாரியனிடத்தில் கொண்டுபோனார்கள்; அங்கே பிரதான ஆசாரியர்கள், மூப்பர்கள், வேதபண்டிதர்கள் எல்லோரும் கூடிவந்திருந்தார்கள்.
54 And Peter followed him afar off, even into the court of the palace of the high-priest, and was sitting with the officers, and warming himself at the fire.
௫௪பேதுரு தூரத்திலே அவருக்குப் பின்னேசென்று, பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய அரண்மனைக்குள் வந்து, காவலர்களுடன் உட்கார்ந்து, நெருப்பின் அருகில் குளிர்க்காய்ந்துகொண்டிருந்தான்.
55 And the chief priests and the whole council sought for testimony against Jesus in order to put him to death; and they found none.
௫௫அப்பொழுது பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களும் ஆலோசனை சங்கத்தினர்கள் அனைவரும் இயேசுவைக் கொலைசெய்கிறதற்கு அவருக்கு எதிராகச் சாட்சிகளைத் தேடினார்கள்; சாட்சிசொல்ல ஒருவரும் வரவில்லை.
56 For many bore false witness against him, but their testimonies did not agree together.
௫௬அநேகர் அவருக்கு எதிராகப் பொய்சாட்சி சொல்லியும், அந்தச் சாட்சிகள் ஒத்துபோகவில்லை.
57 And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying,
௫௭அப்பொழுது சிலர் எழுந்து, கைகளால் கட்டப்பட்ட இந்த தேவாலயத்தை நான் இடித்துப்போட்டு, கைகளால் கட்டப்படாத வேறொன்றை மூன்று நாட்களுக்குள் கட்டுவேன் என்று இவன் சொன்னதை நாங்கள் கேட்டோம் என்று,
58 We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another not made with hands.
௫௮அவருக்கு எதிராகப் பொய்சாட்சி சொன்னார்கள்.
59 And not even so did their testimony agree.
௫௯அப்படிச் சொல்லியும் அவர்களுடைய சாட்சிகள் ஒத்துபோகவில்லை.
60 And the high-priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Dost thou make no answer to what these men testify against thee?
௬0அப்பொழுது பிரதான ஆசாரியன் எழுந்து நடுவே நின்று, இயேசுவைப் பார்த்து: இவர்கள் உனக்கு எதிராகச் சொல்லுகிறதைக்குறித்து நீ ஒன்றும் சொல்லுகிறதில்லையா என்று கேட்டான்.
61 But he was silent, and answered nothing. Again the high-priest asked him, and saith to him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
௬௧அவரோ ஒரு பதிலும் சொல்லாமல் மவுனமாக இருந்தார். மீண்டும் பிரதான ஆசாரியன் அவரைப் பார்த்து: நீ ஸ்தோத்திரிக்கப்பட்ட தேவனுடைய குமாரனாகிய கிறிஸ்துதானா? என்று கேட்டான்.
62 And Jesus said, I am; and ye will see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.
௬௨அதற்கு இயேசு: நான் அவர்தான்; மனிதகுமாரன் சர்வவல்லவரின் வலதுபக்கத்தில் உட்கார்ந்து இருப்பதையும், வானத்தின் மேகங்கள்மேல் வருவதையும் நீங்கள் பார்ப்பீர்கள் என்றார்.
63 Then the high-priest rent his garments, and said, What further need have we of witnesses?
௬௩பிரதான ஆசாரியன் இதைக் கேட்டவுடனே, தன் உடைகளைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு: இதைவிட வேறுசாட்சிகள் நமக்கு வேண்டுமா?
64 Ye have heard the blasphemy; what think ye? And they all condemned him as deserving the punishment of death.
௬௪தேவனை அவமதிப்பதைக் கேட்டீர்களே, இதைப்பற்றி நீங்கள் என்ன நினைக்கிறீர்கள் என்றுக் கேட்டான். அதற்கு அவர்கள் எல்லோரும்: இவன் மரணத்திற்குத் தகுதியானவன் என்று தீர்மானம்பண்ணினார்கள்.
65 And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face and buffet him, and say to him, Prophesy! And the officers, with blows, took him in charge.
௬௫அப்பொழுது சிலர் அவர்மேல் துப்பவும், அவருடைய முகத்தை மூடவும், அவரை அடிக்கவும், தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல் என்று சொல்லவும் தொடங்கினார்கள்; வேலைக்காரர்களும் அவரைக் கன்னத்தில் அறைந்தார்கள்.
66 And as Peter was below in the court, there cometh one of the maid-servants of the high-priest;
௬௬அந்தநேரத்தில் பேதுரு கீழே உள்ள அரண்மனை முற்றத்தில் இருக்கும்போது, பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய வேலைக்காரிகளில் ஒரு பெண் வந்து,
67 and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, Thou too wast with the Nazarene, Jesus.
௬௭குளிர்க்காய்ந்துகொண்டிருந்த பேதுருவை உற்றுப்பார்த்து: நீயும் நசரேயனாகிய இயேசுவோடு இருந்தவன் என்றாள்.
68 But he denied, saying, I do not know nor understand what thou sayest. And he went out into the fore-court; and a cock crew.
௬௮அதற்கு அவன்: எனக்கு ஒன்றும் புரியவில்லை; நீ சொல்வது எனக்குத் தெரியாது என்று மறுதலித்து, வாசல் மண்டபத்திற்கு வெளியேப் போனான்; அப்பொழுது சேவல் கூவியது.
69 And the maid-servant, seeing him, began again to say to those who were standing by, This is one of them.
௬௯வேலைக்காரி அவனை மீண்டும் பார்த்து: இவன் அவர்களில் ஒருவன் என்று அருகே நின்றவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னாள்.
70 And he denied it again. And shortly after, those who were standing by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them; for thou art a Galilaean.
௭0அவன் மீண்டும் மறுதலித்தான். சிறிதுநேரத்திற்குப்பின்பு மீண்டும் அருகே நிற்கிறவர்கள் பேதுருவைப் பார்த்து: உண்மையாகவே நீ அவர்களில் ஒருவன், நீ கலிலேயன், உன் பேச்சு அதற்கு ஒத்திருக்கிறது என்றார்கள்.
71 But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak.
௭௧அதற்கு அவன்: நீங்கள் சொல்லுகிற மனிதனை எனக்குத் தெரியாது என்று சொல்லி, சபிக்கவும் சத்தியம் செய்யவும் தொடங்கினான்.
72 And immediately a cock crew a second time. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus had said to him, Before a cock crows twice, thou wilt thrice deny me. And when he thought thereon, he wept.
௭௨உடனே சேவல் இரண்டாம்முறை கூவியது. சேவல் இரண்டுமுறை கூவுகிறதற்கு முன்பே நீ என்னை மூன்றுமுறை மறுதலிப்பாய் என்று இயேசு தனக்குச் சொன்ன வார்த்தையை பேதுரு நினைத்துப்பார்த்து, மிகவும் அழுதான்.
