Mark 14
1 And two days after was the passover, and the feast of unleavened bread; and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might seize him by craft, and put him to death.
Es waren nun noch zwei Tage bis zu dem Fest des Passah und der ungesäuerten Brote. Da überlegten die Hohenpriester und die Schriftgelehrten, wie sie Jesus mit List in ihre Gewalt bekommen und töten könnten.
2 For they said, Not at the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people.
Doch sie sagten: "Nur nicht am Fest! Es könnte sonst zu einer Volkserhebung kommen."
3 And when he was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he was reclining at table, there came a woman having an alabaster bottle of ointment of pure spikenard, very precious; and breaking the bottle, she poured it on his head.
Als nun Jesus in Bethanien im Haus Simons des Aussätzigen weilte und dort zu Tisch war, kam eine Frau mit einem Glas kostbaren Salböls aus echter Narde: sie zerbrach das Glas und goß das Öl auf sein Haupt.
4 And there were some that were much displeased, [[and said]] among themselves, Why is this waste of the ointment made?
Es waren aber einige da, die unwillig zueinander sagten: "Wozu ist das Öl so verschwendet worden?
5 For this ointment might have been sold for more than three hundred denaries, and given to the poor. And they chid her harshly.
Man hätte es leicht für mehr als dreihundert Silberlinge verkaufen und das Geld den Armen geben können." Und sie schalten die Frau mit harten Worten.
6 But Jesus said, Let her alone; why do ye trouble her? A good deed hath she done for me.
Jesus aber sprach: "Laßt sie in Ruhe! Warum kränkt ihr sie? Sie hat ein rühmlich Werk an mir getan.
7 For the poor ye have always with you, and whenever ye will, ye can do good to them; but me ye have not always.
Denn Arme habt ihr immer bei euch, und sooft ihr wollt, könnt ihr ihnen Gutes tun; mich aber habt ihr habt ihr nicht immer.
8 She hath done what she could; she hath anointed my body beforehand for its burial.
Sie hat getan, was sie konnte: sie hat meinen Leib im voraus zu Begräbnis gesalbt.
9 And truly do I say to you, Wherever the glad tidings shall be published throughout the whole world, this too which she hath done will be told for a memorial of her.
Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wo in der weiten Welt die Heilsbotschaft verkündigt wird, da wird man auch zu ihrem Gedächtnis von ihrer Tat erzählen."
10 And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests, that he might deliver him up to them.
Und Judas aus Kariot, einer von den Zwölfen, ging zu den Hohenpriestern, um ihnen Jesus in die Hände zu liefern.
11 And they when they heard it were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought a good opportunity to deliver him up.
Sie aber waren über seinen Vorschlag erfreut und versprachen, ihm Geld zu geben. Da suchte er nach einer günstigen Gelegenheit, ihn zu verraten.
12 And on the first day of the feast of unleavened bread, when they used to kill the passover, his disciples say to him, Where wilt thou that we go and make ready for thee to eat the passover?
Am ersten Tag der ungesäuerten Brote, da man das Passahlamm zu opfern pflegte, sprachen die Jünger zu Jesus: "Wo sollen wir hingehen und das Passahmahl für dich bereiten?"
13 And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith to them, Go into the city, and there will meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water; follow him;
Da sandte er zwei seiner Jünger ab und gebot ihnen: "Geht in die Stadt; da wird euch ein Mann begegnen, der einen irdenen Krug mit Wasser trägt.
14 and wherever he goeth in, say to the master of the house, The Teacher saith, Where is my guest-chamber, where I may eat the passover with my disciples?
Dem folgt, und dort, wo er hineingeht, da sagt zu dem Hausherrn: 'Der Meister läßt dich fragen: Wo ist das von mir bestellte Zimmer, wo ich das Passahmahl mit meinen Jüngern halten kann?'
15 And he will show you a large upper room furnished and prepared; and there make ready for us.
Dann wird er euch ein geräumiges Oberzimmer zeigen, mit Tischpolstern belegt und für die Mahlzeit hergerichtet. Dort rüstet alles für uns zu!"
16 And the disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had told them; and they made ready the passover.
Da machten sich die Jünger auf den Weg und kamen in die Stadt. Sie fanden es so, wie er ihnen gesagt hatte, und richteten die Passahmahlzeit her.
17 And when it was evening, he cometh with the twelve.
Als der Abend kam, fand er sich mit den Zwölfen ein.
18 And as they were reclining at table and eating, Jesus said, Truly do I say to you, that one of you will betray me, —one that is eating with me.
Während sie bei Tische waren und aßen, sprach Jesus: "Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Einer unter euch, der mit mir ißt, wird mich verraten."
19 They began to be sorrowful, and to say to him one by one, Is it I?
Da wurden sie betrübt, und einer nach dem anderen fragte ihn: "Ich bin's doch nicht?"
20 And he said to them, It is one of the twelve, one that is dipping with me in the dish.
Er antwortete ihnen: "Einer von euch Zwölfen ist's, einer der mit mir in die Schüssel tunkt.
21 For the Son of man indeed goeth away, as it hath been written concerning him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! Well were it for that man if he had not been born.
Denn der Menschensohn geht zwar zum Tod, das steht ja von ihm geschrieben. Doch weh dem Menschen, durch den der Menschensohn verraten wird! Für diesen Menschen wäre es am besten, er wäre nie geboren."
22 And as they were eating, he took a loaf, and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to them, and said, Take; this is my body.
Während des Essens nahm Jesus ein Brot, sprach den Segen, brach's und gab es ihnen mit den Worten: "Nehmt hin, das ist mein Leib!"
23 And he took a cup, and having given thanks, gave it to them; and they all drank of it.
Dann nahm er einen Becher, sprach das Dankgebet und reichte ihn den Jüngern; und sie tranken alle daraus.
24 And he said to them, This is my blood of the covenant, which is shed for many.
Dabei sprach er zu ihnen: "Dies ist mein Blut, das Bundesblut, das vergossen werden soll zum Heil für viele.
25 Truly do I say to you, I shall not drink hereafter of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Ich will von dem Gewächs des Weinstocks nicht mehr trinken bis zu dem Tage, wo ich den neuen Wein trinken werde in Gottes Königreich."
26 And having sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
Nach dem Lobgesang gingen sie hinaus an den Ölberg.
27 And Jesus saith to them, Ye will all fall away from me; for it is written, “I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.”
Auf dem Weg dorthin sprach Jesus zu ihnen: "Ihr werdet alle an mir irrewerden; denn es steht geschrieben: Ich will den Hirten schlagen, und die Schafe werden sich zerstreuen.
28 But after I have risen, I will go before you into Galilee.
Nach meiner Auferstehung aber will ich euch vorausgehen nach Galiläa."
29 But Peter said to him, Even if all shall fall away, yet will not I.
Da sprach Petrus zu ihm: "Wenn auch alle anderen an dir irrewerden — ich nicht!"
30 And Jesus saith to him, Truly do I say to thee, that even thou, to-day, on this night, before a cock crow twice, wilt thrice deny me.
Jesus antwortete ihm: "Wahrlich, ich sage dir: Heute, in dieser Nacht, ehe der Hahn zweimal kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen."
31 But he spoke the more vehemently: If I must die with thee, I will not deny thee. And so also said they all.
Er aber beteuerte nur um so eifriger: "Und müßte ich auch mit dir sterben, ich verleugne dich nun und nimmer!" Ebenso sprachen auch die anderen alle.
32 And they come to a place called Gethsemane; and he saith to his disciples, Sit here, while I pray.
Und sie kamen zu einem Landgut, mit Namen Gethsemane, da sprach er zu seinen Jüngern: "Setzt euch hier nieder, während ich bete!"
33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John; and began to be in great consternation and anguish.
Und er nahm Petrus, Jakobus und Johannes mit sich. Da erfaßte ihn Schrecken und Grauen.
34 And he saith to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death; remain here and watch.
Und er sprach zu ihnen: "Meine Seele ist zum Tode betrübt, bleibt hier und wacht!"
35 And going on a little farther, he fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it was possible, the hour might pass from him.
Dann ging er ein wenig weiter, fiel nieder zur Erde und betete, daß, wenn es möglich sein, an ihm die Stunde vorübergehe.
36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible to thee! take away this cup from me. But not what I will, but what thou wilt.
Er sprach: "Abba, Vater! Dir ist ja alles möglich, laß diesen Kelch an mir vorübergehen! Doch nicht wie ich will, sondern wie du willst!"
37 And he cometh and findeth them sleeping; and he saith to Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? Couldst not thou watch one hour?
Dann kam er zurück und fand sie schlafend und sagte zu Petrus: "Simon, du schläfst? Nicht eine Stunde konntest du wachen?
38 Watch, and pray that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Wacht und betet, damit ihr nicht in Versuchung fallt! Der Geist zwar ist willig, aber das Fleisch ist schwach."
39 And again he went away and prayed, saying the same words.
Dann ging er abermals hin und betete mit denselben Worten.
40 And returning, he found them again sleeping, for their eyes were heavy; and they knew not what to answer him.
Als er zurückkam, fand er sie wiederum schlafend; denn die Augen fielen ihnen zu vor Müdigkeit, und sie wußten ihm nichts zu erwidern.
41 And he cometh the third time, and saith to them, Sleep on, and take your rest! It is enough! the hour is come: lo! the Son of man is delivered up into the hands of sinners.
Da kam er zum drittenmal und sprach zu ihnen: "Ihr schlaft noch weiter und ruht? Nun genug! Die Stunde ist da! Jetzt wird der Menschensohn in der Sünder Hände überliefert.
42 Rise, let us be going; lo! he that delivereth me up is at hand.
Auf, wir gehen! Seht, mein Verräter naht!"
43 And immediately, while he was yet speaking, cometh Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, and with him a multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the scribes and elders.
In dem Augenblick, da er noch redete, erschien Judas, einer der Zwölf, begleitet von einer Schar, die, mit Schwertern und Knütteln bewaffnet, von den Hohenpriestern, Schriftgelehrten und Ältesten ausgesandt war.
44 And his betrayer had given them a signal, saying, Whomever I shall kiss, he is the man; seize him, and lead him away securely.
Sein Verräter aber hatte ein Zeichen mit ihnen verabredet und gesagt: "Wen ich küsse, der ist's; den nehmt fest und führt ihn sicher ab!"
45 And on coming he immediately went up to him, and said, Rabbi! and kissed him.
Als er nun kam, trat er sogleich auf ihn zu, grüßte ihn: "Meister! Meister!" und küßte ihn.
46 And they laid hands on him and seized him.
Da legten sie Hand an ihn und nahmen ihn gefangen.
47 And one of those who stood by drew his sword, and smote the servant of the high-priest, and cut off his ear.
Doch einer von denen, die dastanden, zog ein Schwert, schlug damit nach dem Knecht des Hohenpriesters und hieb ihm das Ohr ab.
48 And Jesus answering said to them, Ye have come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs, to take me.
Da wandte sich Jesus zu den Leuten und sprach: "Wie gegen einen Räuber seid ihr mit Schwertern und Knütteln ausgezogen, um mich gefangenzunehmen.
49 I was daily with you in the temple, teaching, and ye did not lay hands on me; but [[thus it is]], that the Scriptures may be fulfilled.
Tagtäglich bin ich bei euch im Tempel gewesen und habe gelehrt, und ihr habt mich nicht ergriffen. Dies alles aber geschieht, damit sich die Schriften erfüllen."
50 And all forsook him and fled.
Da verließen ihn alle und flohen.
51 And there followed him a certain young man having a linen cloth wrapped round his naked body; and they laid hold of him.
Ein Jüngling nur folgte ihm, der trug auf bloßem Leib ein Hemd aus feiner Leinwand. Den griffen sie.
52 And he left the linen cloth behind, and fled naked.
Da ließ er sein Gewand im Stich und enteilte ganz unbekleidet.
53 And they led Jesus away to the high-priest; and all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes come together.
Man führte dann Jesus vor den Hohenpriester. Dort versammelten sich alle Hohenpriester, Ältesten und Schriftgelehrten.
54 And Peter followed him afar off, even into the court of the palace of the high-priest, and was sitting with the officers, and warming himself at the fire.
Petrus aber folgte ihm von weitem bis hinein in des Hohenpriesters Palast. Dort setzte er sich im Hof zu den Dienern und wärmte sich am Feuer.
55 And the chief priests and the whole council sought for testimony against Jesus in order to put him to death; and they found none.
Die Hohenpriester aber und der ganze Hohe Rat suchten nach einem Zeugnis gegen Jesus, damit sie ihn zum Tod verurteilen könnten; aber sie fanden keines.
56 For many bore false witness against him, but their testimonies did not agree together.
Denn es brachten wohl viele falsches Zeugnis gegen ihn vor, doch ihre Aussagen stimmten nicht überein.
57 And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying,
Da traten einige auf, die erhoben die falsche Anklage gegen ihn:
58 We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another not made with hands.
"Wir haben ihn behaupten hören: Ich will diesen von Menschenhänden errichteten Tempel niederreißen und dafür in drei Tagen einen anderen bauen, der nicht Händen gemacht ist."
59 And not even so did their testimony agree.
Doch nicht einmal in diesem Wortlaut stimmte ihr Zeugnis überein.
60 And the high-priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Dost thou make no answer to what these men testify against thee?
Da erhob sich der Hohepriester, trat mitten in die Versammlung und fragte Jesus: "Antwortest du nichts auf das, was diese wider dich vorbringen?"
61 But he was silent, and answered nothing. Again the high-priest asked him, and saith to him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
Er aber schwieg und gab ihm keine Antwort. Da fragte ihn der Hohepriester zum zweitenmal: "Bist du der Messias, der Sohn des Hochgelobten?"
62 And Jesus said, I am; and ye will see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.
Jesus erwiderte: "Ich bin's! Und ihr sollt den Menschensohn sitzen sehen zur Rechten der Macht und kommen mit den Wolken des Himmels."
63 Then the high-priest rent his garments, and said, What further need have we of witnesses?
Da zerriß der Hohepriester seine Kleider und sprach: "Was brauchen wir noch weiter Zeugen?
64 Ye have heard the blasphemy; what think ye? And they all condemned him as deserving the punishment of death.
Ihr habt die Gotteslästerung gehört. Was meint ihr nun?" Da gaben alle das Urteil ab, er sei des Todes schuldig.
65 And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face and buffet him, and say to him, Prophesy! And the officers, with blows, took him in charge.
Nun begannen einige, ihn anzuspeien, ihm das Gesicht zu verhüllen und ihn dann mit Fäusten zu schlagen, indem sie höhnisch riefen: "Zeige dich als Prophet!" Auch die Diener schlugen ihn ins Angesicht, als er ihnen übergeben wurde.
66 And as Peter was below in the court, there cometh one of the maid-servants of the high-priest;
Unterdessen saß Petrus unten im Hof. Da kam eine von den Mägden des Hohenpriesters.
67 and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, Thou too wast with the Nazarene, Jesus.
Als die sah, wie sich Petrus wärmte, schaute sie ihn an und sprach: "Du warst auch bei dem Jesus von Nazaret!"
68 But he denied, saying, I do not know nor understand what thou sayest. And he went out into the fore-court; and a cock crew.
Er leugnete aber und sagte: "Ich weiß nicht — ich verstehe nicht — was meinst du denn?" Dann ging er aus dem inneren Hof in den Vorhof. Da krähte ein Hahn.
69 And the maid-servant, seeing him, began again to say to those who were standing by, This is one of them.
Nun sah ihn dort dieselbe Magd, und wieder fing sie an, zu denen, die dabeistanden, zu sagen: "Das ist auch einer von ihnen!"
70 And he denied it again. And shortly after, those who were standing by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them; for thou art a Galilaean.
Da leugnete er von neuem: Nach einer kleinen Weile sprachen die Umstehenden wiederum zu Petrus: "Wahrhaftig, du gehörst zu ihnen! Du bist ja auch ein Galiläer; schon deine Mundart ist ganz so."
71 But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak.
Nun fing er an, sich zu verwünschen und zu schwören: "Ich kenne den Menschen nicht, von dem ihr redet!"
72 And immediately a cock crew a second time. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus had said to him, Before a cock crows twice, thou wilt thrice deny me. And when he thought thereon, he wept.
Da krähte ein Hahn zum zweitenmal. Jetzt entsann sich Petrus des Wortes, das Jesus zu ihm gesagt hatte: "Ehe der Hahn zweimal kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen." Als er daran dachte, brach er ihn lautes Weinen aus.
