Mark 1
1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ;
神の子イエス・キリストの福音のはじめ。
2 as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: “Lo! I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way;”
預言者イザヤの書に、「見よ、わたしは使をあなたの先につかわし、あなたの道を整えさせるであろう。
3 “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths!”
荒野で呼ばわる者の声がする、『主の道を備えよ、その道筋をまっすぐにせよ』」と書いてあるように、
4 John the Baptizer appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
バプテスマのヨハネが荒野に現れて、罪のゆるしを得させる悔改めのバプテスマを宣べ伝えていた。
5 And there went out to him all the country of Judaea, and all they of Jerusalem and were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
そこで、ユダヤ全土とエルサレムの全住民とが、彼のもとにぞくぞくと出て行って、自分の罪を告白し、ヨルダン川でヨハネからバプテスマを受けた。
6 And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a leathern girdle about his loins, and he ate locusts and wild honey.
このヨハネは、らくだの毛ごろもを身にまとい、腰に皮の帯をしめ、いなごと野蜜とを食物としていた。
7 And he preached, saying, There cometh after me one mightier than I, the latchet of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and loose.
彼は宣べ伝えて言った、「わたしよりも力のあるかたが、あとからおいでになる。わたしはかがんで、そのくつのひもを解く値うちもない。
8 I have baptized you with water; but he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.
わたしは水でバプテスマを授けたが、このかたは、聖霊によってバプテスマをお授けになるであろう」。
9 And it came to pass that in those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
そのころ、イエスはガリラヤのナザレから出てきて、ヨルダン川で、ヨハネからバプテスマをお受けになった。
10 And immediately on coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens parted, and the Spirit descending as a dove upon him.
そして、水の中から上がられるとすぐ、天が裂けて、聖霊がはとのように自分に下って来るのを、ごらんになった。
11 And there was a voice from the heavens, “Thou art my beloved Son; with thee I am well pleased.”
すると天から声があった、「あなたはわたしの愛する子、わたしの心にかなう者である」。
12 And immediately the Spirit driveth him forth into the wilderness.
それからすぐに、御霊がイエスを荒野に追いやった。
13 And he was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him.
イエスは四十日のあいだ荒野にいて、サタンの試みにあわれた。そして獣もそこにいたが、御使たちはイエスに仕えていた。
14 But after John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the glad tidings of God,
ヨハネが捕えられた後、イエスはガリラヤに行き、神の福音を宣べ伝えて言われた、
15 [[saying, ]] The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe the glad tidings.
「時は満ちた、神の国は近づいた。悔い改めて福音を信ぜよ」。
16 And as he was passing along by the lake of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon dragging a net in the lake; for they were fishers.
さて、イエスはガリラヤの海べを歩いて行かれ、シモンとシモンの兄弟アンデレとが、海で網を打っているのをごらんになった。彼らは漁師であった。
17 And Jesus said to them, Come after me, and I will cause you to become fishers of men.
イエスは彼らに言われた、「わたしについてきなさい。あなたがたを、人間をとる漁師にしてあげよう」。
18 And immediately they left their nets, and followed him.
すると、彼らはすぐに網を捨てて、イエスに従った。
19 And going on a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending the nets;
また少し進んで行かれると、ゼベダイの子ヤコブとその兄弟ヨハネとが、舟の中で網を繕っているのをごらんになった。
20 and immediately he called them. And leaving their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men, they went after him.
そこで、すぐ彼らをお招きになると、父ゼベダイを雇人たちと一緒に舟において、イエスのあとについて行った。
21 And they enter Capernaum; and immediately on the sabbath he was teaching in the synagogue.
それから、彼らはカペナウムに行った。そして安息日にすぐ、イエスは会堂にはいって教えられた。
22 And they were astonished at his teaching; for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
人々は、その教に驚いた。律法学者たちのようにではなく、権威ある者のように、教えられたからである。
23 And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,
ちょうどその時、けがれた霊につかれた者が会堂にいて、叫んで言った、
24 saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus of Nazareth? Thou hast come to destroy us; we know who thou art, the Holy One of God.
「ナザレのイエスよ、あなたはわたしたちとなんの係わりがあるのです。わたしたちを滅ぼしにこられたのですか。あなたがどなたであるか、わかっています。神の聖者です」。
25 And Jesus rebuked him, [[saying, ]] Be silent, and come out of him.
イエスはこれをしかって、「黙れ、この人から出て行け」と言われた。
26 And the unclean spirit convulsing him, and crying out with a loud voice, came out of him.
すると、けがれた霊は彼をひきつけさせ、大声をあげて、その人から出て行った。
27 And they were all amazed, so that they questioned each other, saying, What is this? New teaching with authority; even the unclean spirits doth he command, and they obey him!
人々はみな驚きのあまり、互に論じて言った、「これは、いったい何事か。権威ある新しい教だ。けがれた霊にさえ命じられると、彼らは従うのだ」。
28 And immediately his fame spread abroad everywhere through the whole surrounding country of Galilee.
こうしてイエスのうわさは、たちまちガリラヤの全地方、いたる所にひろまった。
29 And having come out of the synagogue, they immediately entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
それから会堂を出るとすぐ、ヤコブとヨハネとを連れて、シモンとアンデレとの家にはいって行かれた。
30 And Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever; and they immediately speak to him about her.
ところが、シモンのしゅうとめが熱病で床についていたので、人々はさっそく、そのことをイエスに知らせた。
31 And he went to her, and took her by the hand, and raised her up; and the fever left her, and she waited on them.
イエスは近寄り、その手をとって起されると、熱が引き、女は彼らをもてなした。
32 And in the evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all that were sick, and those who were possessed by demons;
夕暮になり日が沈むと、人々は病人や悪霊につかれた者をみな、イエスのところに連れてきた。
33 and the whole city was assembled at the door.
こうして、町中の者が戸口に集まった。
34 And he healed many that were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and he suffered not the demons to speak, because they knew him.
イエスは、さまざまの病をわずらっている多くの人々をいやし、また多くの悪霊を追い出された。また、悪霊どもに、物言うことをお許しにならなかった。彼らがイエスを知っていたからである。
35 And rising early, long before day, he went out, and withdrew into a desert place, and there prayed.
朝はやく、夜の明けるよほど前に、イエスは起きて寂しい所へ出て行き、そこで祈っておられた。
36 And Simon and those with him went in search of him,
すると、シモンとその仲間とが、あとを追ってきた。
37 and found him. And they say to him, All people are in search of thee.
そしてイエスを見つけて、「みんなが、あなたを捜しています」と言った。
38 And he saith to them, Let us go elsewhere into the neighboring towns, that I may preach there also; for, for this I came forth.
イエスは彼らに言われた、「ほかの、附近の町々にみんなで行って、そこでも教を宣べ伝えよう。わたしはこのために出てきたのだから」。
39 And he went, preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out the demons.
そして、ガリラヤ全地を巡りあるいて、諸会堂で教を宣べ伝え、また悪霊を追い出された。
40 And there cometh a leper to him beseeching him, and kneeling down, saying to him, If thou wilt, thou canst cleanse me.
ひとりのらい病人が、イエスのところに願いにきて、ひざまずいて言った、「みこころでしたら、きよめていただけるのですが」。
41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith, I will; be thou cleansed.
イエスは深くあわれみ、手を伸ばして彼にさわり、「そうしてあげよう、きよくなれ」と言われた。
42 And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.
すると、らい病が直ちに去って、その人はきよくなった。
43 And sternly charging him, he immediately sent him away,
イエスは彼をきびしく戒めて、すぐにそこを去らせ、こう言い聞かせられた、
44 saying to him, See that thou say nothing to any one; but go, show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
「何も人に話さないように、注意しなさい。ただ行って、自分のからだを祭司に見せ、それから、モーセが命じた物をあなたのきよめのためにささげて、人々に証明しなさい」。
45 But he went away, and began to publish it constantly, and to spread the matter abroad, so that Jesus could no more enter a city openly, but was without in desert places; and they came to him from every quarter.
しかし、彼は出て行って、自分の身に起ったことを盛んに語り、また言いひろめはじめたので、イエスはもはや表立っては町に、はいることができなくなり、外の寂しい所にとどまっておられた。しかし、人々は方々から、イエスのところにぞくぞくと集まってきた。
