Malachi 1

1 The prophecy of the word of Jehovah, concerning Israel, by Malachi.

౧ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను గూర్చి మలాకీ ప్రవక్త ద్వారా చెప్పబడిన యెహోవా వాక్కు.

2 I have loved you, saith Jehovah. But ye say, “Wherein hast thou loved us?” Was not Esau Jacob's brother, saith Jehovah? Yet I loved Jacob,

౨యెహోవా ఈ విధంగా అంటున్నాడు. “నేను మీ పట్ల ప్రేమ కనపరిచాను. అయితే మీరు ‘ఏ విషయంలో నీవు మా పట్ల ప్రేమ చూపించావు?’ అంటారు. ఏశావు యాకోబుకు అన్న కదా. నేను యాకోబును ప్రేమించాను.

3 And Esau I hated; And I made his mountains a desolation, And his inheritance to be habitations of the desert.

౩ఏశావును ద్వేషించాను. అతని నివాస స్థలాలను పాడుచేసి అతని ఆస్తిని ఎడారిలో ఉన్న నక్కలపాలు చేశాను.”

4 Although Edom say, “We are ruined, Yet will we build again the desolate places.” Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: They may build, but I will throw down; And men shall call them “The impious land, The people against whom Jehovah hath indignation forever.”

౪“మనం నాశనమై పోయాం. రండి, పాడైపోయిన మన నివాస స్థలాలు తిరిగి నిర్మించుకుందాం” అని ఎదోమీయులు అనుకొంటారు. అయితే సైన్యాలకు అధిపతియైన యెహోవా చెబుతున్నది ఏమిటంటే, వారు మళ్ళీ నిర్మించుకొన్నప్పటికీ నేను వాటిని క్రింద పడదోసి నాశనం చేస్తాను. వాళ్ళ దేశం భక్తిహీనుల ప్రదేశమనీ, వాళ్ళపై యెహోవా కోపం నిత్యమూ నిలిచి ఉంటుందని ఇతర ప్రజలు అంటారు.

5 And your eyes shall see it, and ye shall say, “Great is Jehovah beyond the borders of Israel!”

౫కళ్ళారా దాన్ని చూసిన మీరు “ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజల సరిహద్దుల అవతల కూడా యెహోవా గొప్పవాడు” అంటారు.

6 A son honoreth his father, And a servant his master; If I, then, be a father, where is mine honor? And if I be a master, where is my fear? Saith Jehovah of hosts to you, ye priests that despise my name. Ye say, “Wherein do we despise thy name?”

౬“కుమారుడు తన తండ్రిని గొప్ప చేస్తాడు గదా, దాసుడు తన యజమానుని ఘనపరుస్తాడు గదా. నా గొప్పదనాన్ని నిర్లక్ష్యం చేసే యాజకులారా, నేను మీకు తండ్రినైతే నాకు రావలసిన ఘనత ఏమయింది? నేను యజమానుడినైతే నాకు భయపడేవాడు ఎక్కడ ఉన్నాడు?” అని సేనల ప్రభువైన యెహోవా మిమ్మల్ని అడిగినప్పుడు “నీ నామాన్ని మేము ఏ విధంగా నిర్లక్ష్యం చేశాం?” అని మీరు అంటారు.

7 Ye bring polluted food to mine altar. And ye say, “Wherein do we pollute thee?” In that ye say, “The table of Jehovah is contemptible.”

౭మీరు నా బలిపీఠం మీద అపవిత్రమైన ఆహారం నాకు అర్పిస్తూ “ఏమి చేసి నిన్ను అపవిత్రపరచాం?” అంటారు. “యెహోవా భోజనపు బల్లను అవమాన పరచడం వల్లనే గదా

8 For when ye bring the blind for sacrifice, [[ye say, ]] “It is not evil.” And when ye offer the lame and the sick, [[Ye say, ]] “It is not evil.” Offer it, then, to thy governor; Will he be pleased with thee, Or have regard to thee? Saith Jehovah of hosts.

౮గుడ్డి దాన్ని బలిగా అర్పించినప్పుడు అది దోషమే కదా. కుంటి దాన్ని, జబ్బు పడిన దాన్ని అర్పించినప్పుడు అది దోషం కాదా? అలాంటి వాటిని మీ యజమానికి ఇస్తే అతడు మిమ్మల్ని స్వీకరిస్తాడా? మిమ్మల్ని కనికరిస్తాడా?” అని సేనల ప్రభువైన యెహోవా అడుగుతున్నాడు.

9 And now, I pray you, beseech God to be gracious unto us! Since such things are done by you, Will he have regard to you, Saith Jehovah of hosts?

౯ఇప్పుడు దయ చూపమని ఆయనను ప్రాధేయపడండి. మీరే గదా ఆయనను అవమాన పరచారు. మీరు చేసిన పనులను బట్టి మీలో ఎవరినైనా ఆయన స్వీకరిస్తాడా? అని సేనల ప్రభువైన యెహోవా అడుగుతున్నాడు.

10 O that some one of you would close the doors, That ye might not kindle the fire upon mine altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you, saith Jehovah of hosts, Neither will I accept an offering at your hand.

౧౦“మీరు నా బలిపీఠం మీద వ్యర్థంగా నిప్పు రాజబెట్టకుండా మీలో ఒకడు నా ఆలయం ద్వారాలు మూసివేస్తే ఎంత బాగుండేది? మీరంటే నాకు ఇష్టం లేదు, మీరు అర్పించే నైవేద్యాలను నేను స్వీకరించను” అని సేనల ప్రభువైన యెహోవా చెబుతున్నాడు.

11 For from the rising of the sun even to the going down of the same My name shall be great among the nations. And in every place shall incense be offered to my name, And a pure offering; For my name shall be great among the nations, Saith Jehovah of hosts.

౧౧తూర్పు దిక్కు నుండి పడమర దిక్కు వరకూ ఇతర దేశాల ప్రజల్లో నా పేరును అంతా గౌరవిస్తారు. అన్ని ప్రాంతాల్లో నా పేరుకు ధూప నైవేద్యాలు, పవిత్రమైన అర్పణలు అర్పిస్తారు. అన్య దేశాల ప్రజల్లో నా పేరును ఉన్నతంగా ఎంచుతారు. అని సేనల ప్రభువైన యెహోవా చెబుతున్నాడు.

12 But ye profane it, In that ye say, “The table of Jehovah is polluted, And what is offered thereon, even its food, is contemptible.”

౧౨మీరైతే యెహోవా బల్ల అపవిత్రమని, దాని మీద ఉంచిన ఆహారం నీచమైనదని అనుకుంటూ దానికి అవమానం కలిగిస్తున్నారు.

13 Ye say also, “Behold, what weariness!” And ye snuff at it, Saith Jehovah of hosts; And ye bring that which is plundered, and lame, and sick, And present it for an offering; Shall I accept it at your hand? Saith Jehovah.

౧౩అయ్యో, ఇదంతా చేయడం వ్యర్ధమని ఆ బల్లను తిరస్కరిస్తున్నారు అని ఆయన సెలవిస్తున్నాడు. ఇది సేనల ప్రభువైన యెహోవా వాక్కు. దోచుకున్నదానినీ, కుంటిదానినీ, జబ్బు గలదానినీ మీరు తీసుకువచ్చి బలిగా అర్పించినప్పుడు అలాంటి వాటిని నేను స్వీకరిస్తానా? అని యెహోవా అడుగుతున్నాడు.

14 Cursed be the deceiver, Who hath in his flock a male, And yet voweth and sacrificeth to Jehovah that which is marred; For I am a great king, saith Jehovah of hosts; And my name is terrible among the nations.

౧౪నేను ఘనమైన గొప్ప రాజును. అన్య దేశాల ప్రజల్లో నా పేరంటే భయం. యెహోవాకు మొక్కుబడి చెల్లించడానికి మగ జంతువు ఉన్నప్పటికీ జబ్బు పడిన దాన్ని అర్పించే వంచకుడు శాపానికి గురి అవుతాడు.
