Luke 1
1 Inasmuch as many have undertaken to arrange a narrative of those things which are fully believed among us,
ปฺรถมโต เย สากฺษิโณ วากฺยปฺรจารกาศฺจาสนฺ เต'สฺมากํ มเธฺย ยทฺยตฺ สปฺรมาณํ วากฺยมรฺปยนฺติ สฺม
2 even as they were delivered to us by those who were eye-witnesses from the beginning and became ministers of the word,
ตทนุสารโต'เนฺยปิ พหวสฺตทฺวฺฤตฺตานฺตํ รจยิตุํ ปฺรวฺฤตฺตา: ฯ
3 it seemed good to me also, having accurately traced up all things from the first, to write to thee a connected account, most excellent Theophilus,
อเตอว เห มหามหิมถิยผิลฺ ตฺวํ ยา ยา: กถา อศิกฺษฺยถาสฺตาสำ ทฺฤฒปฺรมาณานิ ยถา ปฺราปฺโนษิ
4 that thou mightst know the exact truth with regard to those things in which thou wast instructed.
ตทรฺถํ ปฺรถมมารภฺย ตานิ สรฺวฺวาณิ ชฺญาตฺวาหมปิ อนุกฺรมาตฺ สรฺวฺววฺฤตฺตานฺตานฺ ตุภฺยํ เลขิตุํ มติมการฺษมฺฯ
5 There was in the days of Herod, king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zachariah, of the course of Abijah; and he had a wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.
ยิหูทาเทศียเหโรทฺนามเก ราชตฺวํ กุรฺวฺวติ อพียยาชกสฺย ปรฺยฺยายาธิการี สิขริยนามก เอโก ยาชโก หาโรณวํโศทฺภวา อิลีเศวาขฺยา
6 And they were both righteous in the sight of God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
ตสฺย ชายา ทฺวาวิเมา นิรฺโทเษา ปฺรโภ: สรฺวฺวาชฺญา วฺยวสฺถาศฺจ สํมนฺย อีศฺวรทฺฤษฺเฏา ธารฺมฺมิกาวาสฺตามฺฯ
7 And they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both far advanced in years.
ตโย: สนฺตาน เอโกปิ นาสีตฺ, ยต อิลีเศวา พนฺธฺยา เตา ทฺวาเวว วฺฤทฺธาวภวตามฺฯ
8 And it came to pass, that, while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his course,
ยทา สฺวปรฺยฺยานุกฺรเมณ สิขริย อีศฺวาสฺย สมกฺษํ ยาชกียํ กรฺมฺม กโรติ
9 according to the custom of the priesthood the lot fell to him to go into the temple of the Lord and burn the incense.
ตทา ยชฺญสฺย ทินปริปายฺยา ปรเมศฺวรสฺย มนฺทิเร ปฺรเวศกาเล ธูปชฺวาลนํ กรฺมฺม ตสฺย กรณียมาสีตฺฯ
10 And the whole multitude of the people was praying without at the time of the incense.
ตทฺธูปชฺวาลนกาเล โลกนิวเห ปฺรารฺถนำ กรฺตุํ พหิสฺติษฺฐติ
11 And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord, standing on the right of the altar of incense.
สติ สิขริโย ยสฺยำ เวทฺยำ ธูปํ ชฺวาลยติ ตทฺทกฺษิณปารฺเศฺว ปรเมศฺวรสฺย ทูต เอก อุปสฺถิโต ทรฺศนํ ทเทาฯ
12 And Zachariah was troubled at the sight, and fear fell upon him.
ตํ ทฺฤษฺฏฺวา สิขริย อุทฺวิวิเช ศศงฺเก จฯ
13 But the angel said to him, Fear not, Zachariah; for thy prayer was heard, and thy wife Elizabeth shall bear thee a son; and thou shalt call his name John.
ตทา ส ทูตสฺตํ พภาเษ เห สิขริย มา ไภสฺตว ปฺรารฺถนา คฺราหฺยา ชาตา ตว ภารฺยฺยา อิลีเศวา ปุตฺรํ ปฺรโสษฺยเต ตสฺย นาม โยหนฺ อิติ กริษฺยสิฯ
14 And thou wilt have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice for his birth.
กิญฺจ ตฺวํ สานนฺท: สหรฺษศฺจ ภวิษฺยสิ ตสฺย ชนฺมนิ พหว อานนฺทิษฺยนฺติ จฯ
15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord; and will drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit from his very birth.
ยโต เหโต: ส ปรเมศฺวรสฺย โคจเร มหานฺ ภวิษฺยติ ตถา ทฺรากฺษารสํ สุรำ วา กิมปิ น ปาสฺยติ, อปรํ ชนฺมารภฺย ปวิเตฺรณาตฺมนา ปริปูรฺณ:
16 And many of the sons of Israel will he turn to the Lord their God.
สนฺ อิสฺราเยลฺวํศียานฺ อเนกานฺ ปฺรโภ: ปรเมศฺวรสฺย มารฺคมาเนษฺยติฯ
17 And he will go before his face in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of fathers to children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous, to make ready for the Lord a prepared people.
สนฺตานานฺ ปฺรติ ปิตฺฤณำ มนำสิ ธรฺมฺมชฺญานํ ปฺรตฺยนาชฺญาคฺราหิณศฺจ ปราวรฺตฺตยิตุํ, ปฺรโภ: ปรเมศฺวรสฺย เสวารฺถมฺ เอกำ สชฺชิตชาตึ วิธาตุญฺจ ส เอลิยรูปาตฺมศกฺติปฺราปฺตสฺตสฺยาเคฺร คมิษฺยติฯ
18 And Zachariah said to the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife is far advanced in years.
ตทา สิขริโย ทูตมวาทีตฺ กถเมตทฺ เวตฺสฺยามิ? ยโตหํ วฺฤทฺโธ มม ภารฺยฺยา จ วฺฤทฺธาฯ
19 And the angel answering said to him, I am Gabriel, who stand in the presence of God; and I was sent to speak to thee, and to tell thee these glad tidings.
ตโต ทูต: ปฺรตฺยุวาจ ปเศฺยศฺวรสฺย สากฺษาทฺวรฺตฺตี ชิพฺราเยลฺนามา ทูโตหํ ตฺวยา สห กถำ คทิตุํ ตุภฺยมิมำ ศุภวารฺตฺตำ ทาตุญฺจ เปฺรษิต: ฯ
20 And lo! thou shalt be silent, and not able to speak, until the day when these things shall come to pass, because thou didst not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their season.
กินฺตุ มทียํ วากฺยํ กาเล ผลิษฺยติ ตตฺ ตฺวยา น ปฺรตีตมฺ อต: การณาทฺ ยาวเทว ตานิ น เสตฺสฺยนฺติ ตาวตฺ ตฺวํ วกฺตุํมศกฺโต มูโก ภวฯ
21 And the people were looking for Zachariah, and wondering that he remained so long in the temple.
ตทานีํ เย เย โลกา: สิขริยมไปกฺษนฺต เต มเธฺยมนฺทิรํ ตสฺย พหุวิลมฺพาทฺ อาศฺจรฺยฺยํ เมนิเรฯ
22 And on coming out, he was not able to speak to them; and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple; and he was beckoning to them, and remained speechless.
ส พหิราคโต ยทา กิมปิ วากฺยํ วกฺตุมศกฺต: สงฺเกตํ กฺฤตฺวา นิ: ศพฺทสฺตเสฺยา ตทา มเธฺยมนฺทิรํ กสฺยจิทฺ ทรฺศนํ เตน ปฺราปฺตมฺ อิติ สรฺเวฺว พุพุธิเรฯ
23 And it came to pass, when the days of his ministration were completed, that he returned to his house.
อนนฺตรํ ตสฺย เสวนปรฺยฺยาเย สมฺปูรฺเณ สติ ส นิชเคหํ ชคามฯ
24 And after those days his wife Elizabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,
กติปยทิเนษุ คเตษุ ตสฺย ภารฺยฺยา อิลีเศวา ครฺพฺภวตี พภูว
25 Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me to take away my reproach among men.
ปศฺจาตฺ สา ปญฺจมาสานฺ สํโคปฺยากถยตฺ โลกานำ สมกฺษํ มมาปมานํ ขณฺฑยิตุํ ปรเมศฺวโร มยิ ทฺฤษฺฏึ ปาตยิตฺวา กรฺมฺเมทฺฤศํ กฺฤตวานฺฯ
26 And in her sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee, called Nazareth,
อปรญฺจ ตสฺยา ครฺพฺภสฺย ษษฺเฐ มาเส ชาเต คาลีลฺปฺรเทศียนาสรตฺปุเร
27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
ทายูโท วํศียาย ยูษผฺนามฺเน ปุรุษาย ยา มริยมฺนามกุมารี วาคฺทตฺตาสีตฺ ตสฺยา: สมีปํ ชิพฺราเยลฺ ทูต อีศฺวเรณ ปฺรหิต: ฯ
28 And the angel came in to her and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored! the Lord is with thee.
ส คตฺวา ชคาท เห อีศฺวรานุคฺฤหีตกเนฺย ตว ศุภํ ภูยาตฺ ปฺรภุ: ปรเมศฺวรสฺตว สหาโยสฺติ นารีณำ มเธฺย ตฺวเมว ธนฺยาฯ
29 And she was troubled at the words, and was considering what this salutation could mean.
ตทานีํ สา ตํ ทฺฤษฺฏฺวา ตสฺย วากฺยต อุทฺวิชฺย กีทฺฤศํ ภาษณมิทมฺ อิติ มนสา จินฺตยามาสฯ
30 And the angel said to her, Fear not, Mary; for thou hast found favor with God.
ตโต ทูโต'วทตฺ เห มริยมฺ ภยํ มาการฺษี: , ตฺวยิ ปรเมศฺวรสฺยานุคฺรโหสฺติฯ
31 And lo! thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and hear a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
ปศฺย ตฺวํ ครฺพฺภํ ธฺฤตฺวา ปุตฺรํ ปฺรโสษฺยเส ตสฺย นาม ยีศุริติ กริษฺยสิฯ
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of David his father;
ส มหานฺ ภวิษฺยติ ตถา สรฺเวฺวภฺย: เศฺรษฺฐสฺย ปุตฺร อิติ ขฺยาสฺยติ; อปรํ ปฺรภุ: ปรเมศฺวรสฺตสฺย ปิตุรฺทายูท: สึหาสนํ ตไสฺม ทาสฺยติ;
33 and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (aiōn g165)
ตถา ส ยากูโพ วํโศปริ สรฺวฺวทา ราชตฺวํ กริษฺยติ, ตสฺย ราชตฺวสฺยานฺโต น ภวิษฺยติฯ (aiōn g165)
34 Then said Mary to the angel, How shall this be, since I know not a man?
ตทา มริยมฺ ตํ ทูตํ พภาเษ นาหํ ปุรุษสงฺคํ กโรมิ ตรฺหิ กถเมตตฺ สมฺภวิษฺยติ?
35 And the angel answering said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon thee, and the power of the Most High will overshadow thee; wherefore the holy one that is to be born will be called the Son of God.
ตโต ทูโต'กถยตฺ ปวิตฺร อาตฺมา ตฺวามาศฺรายิษฺยติ ตถา สรฺวฺวเศฺรษฺฐสฺย ศกฺติสฺตโวปริ ฉายำ กริษฺยติ ตโต เหโตสฺตว ครฺพฺภาทฺ ย: ปวิตฺรพาลโก ชนิษฺยเต ส อีศฺวรปุตฺร อิติ ขฺยาตึ ปฺราปฺสฺยติฯ
36 And lo! Elizabeth, thy kinswoman, she also hath conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her who is called barren.
อปรญฺจ ปศฺย ตว ชฺญาติริลีเศวา ยำ สรฺเวฺว พนฺธฺยามวทนฺ อิทานีํ สา วารฺทฺธเกฺย สนฺตานเมกํ ครฺพฺเภ'ธารยตฺ ตสฺย ษษฺฐมาโสภูตฺฯ
37 For nothing will be impossible with God.
กิมปิ กรฺมฺม นาสาธฺยมฺ อีศฺวรสฺยฯ
38 And Mary said, Lo, the handmaid of the Lord! May it be to me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
ตทา มริยมฺ ชคาท, ปศฺย ปฺรเภรหํ ทาสี มหฺยํ ตว วากฺยานุสาเรณ สรฺวฺวเมตทฺ ฆฏตามฺ; อนนตรํ ทูตสฺตสฺยา: สมีปาตฺ ปฺรตเสฺถฯ
39 And Mary arose and went in those days into the hill-country with haste, into a city of Judah.
อถ กติปยทินาตฺ ปรํ มริยมฺ ตสฺมาตฺ ปรฺวฺวตมยปฺรเทศียยิหูทายา นครเมกํ ศีฆฺรํ คตฺวา
40 And she entered the house of Zachariah, and saluted Elizabeth.
สิขริยยาชกสฺย คฺฤหํ ปฺรวิศฺย ตสฺย ชายามฺ อิลีเศวำ สมฺโพธฺยาวทตฺฯ
41 And it came to pass, when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit,
ตโต มริยม: สมฺโพธนวาเกฺย อิลีเศวายา: กรฺณโย: ปฺรวิษฺฏมาเตฺร สติ ตสฺยา ครฺพฺภสฺถพาลโก นนรฺตฺตฯ ตต อิลีเศวา ปวิเตฺรณาตฺมนา ปริปูรฺณา สตี
42 and cried out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women; and blessed is the fruit of thy womb!
โปฺรจฺไจรฺคทิตุมาเรเภ, โยษิตำ มเธฺย ตฺวเมว ธนฺยา, ตว ครฺพฺภสฺถ: ศิศุศฺจ ธนฺย: ฯ
43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
ตฺวํ ปฺรโภรฺมาตา, มม นิเวศเน ตฺวยา จรณาวรฺปิเตา, มมาทฺย เสาภาคฺยเมตตฺฯ
44 For lo! as soon as the voice of thy salutation came to my ears, the babe leaped in my womb in exultation.
ปศฺย ตว วาเกฺย มม กรฺณโย: ปฺรวิษฺฏมาเตฺร สติ มโมทรสฺถ: ศิศุรานนฺทานฺ นนรฺตฺตฯ
45 And blessed is she who hath believed that there will be an accomplishment of those things which were told her from the Lord.
ยา สฺตฺรี วฺยศฺวสีตฺ สา ธนฺยา, ยโต เหโตสฺตำ ปฺรติ ปรเมศฺวโรกฺตํ วากฺยํ สรฺวฺวํ สิทฺธํ ภวิษฺยติฯ
46 And Mary said, My soul magnifieth the Lord,
ตทานีํ มริยมฺ ชคาทฯ ธนฺยวาทํ ปเรศสฺย กโรติ มามกํ มน: ฯ
47 and my spirit hath exulted in God my Saviour;
มมาตฺมา ตารเกเศ จ สมุลฺลาสํ ปฺรคจฺฉติฯ
48 for he hath looked upon the low estate of his handmaiden. For lo! from this time all generations will call me blessed;
อกโรตฺ ส ปฺรภุ รฺทุษฺฏึ สฺวทาสฺยา ทุรฺคตึ ปฺรติฯ ปศฺยาทฺยารภฺย มำ ธนฺยำ วกฺษฺยนฺติ ปุรุษา: สทาฯ
49 for the Mighty One hath done great things for me; and holy is his name;
ย: สรฺวฺวศกฺติมานฺ ยสฺย นามาปิ จ ปวิตฺรกํฯ ส เอว สุมหตฺกรฺมฺม กฺฤตวานฺ มนฺนิมิตฺตกํฯ
50 and his mercy is from generation to generation on them that fear him.
เย พิภฺยติ ชนาสฺตสฺมาตฺ เตษำ สนฺตานปํกฺติษุฯ อนุกมฺปา ตทียา จ สรฺวฺวไทว สุติษฺฐติฯ
51 He hath wrought mightily with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the device of their heart.
สฺวพาหุพลตเสฺตน ปฺรากาศฺยต ปรากฺรม: ฯ มน: กุมนฺตฺรณาสารฺทฺธํ วิกีรฺยฺยนฺเต'ภิมานิน: ฯ
52 He hath cast down princes from thrones, and exalted men of low degree.
สึหาสนคตาโลฺลกานฺ พลินศฺจาวโรหฺย ส: ฯ ปเทษูจฺเจษุ โลกำสฺตุ กฺษุทฺรานฺ สํสฺถาปยตฺยปิฯ
53 The hungry he hath filled with good things, and the rich he hath sent away empty.
กฺษุธิตานฺ มานวานฺ ทฺรไวฺยรุตฺตไม: ปริตรฺปฺย ส: ฯ สกลานฺ ธนิโน โลกานฺ วิสฺฤเชทฺ ริกฺตหสฺตกานฺฯ
54 He hath given help to Israel his servant, in remembrance of his mercy
อิพฺราหีมิ จ ตทฺวํเศ ยา ทยาสฺติ สไทว ตำฯ สฺมฺฤตฺวา ปุรา ปิตฺฤณำ โน ยถา สากฺษาตฺ ปฺรติศฺรุตํฯ (aiōn g165)
อิสฺราเยลฺเสวกเสฺตน ตโถปกฺริยเต สฺวยํ๚
56 And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.
อนนฺตรํ มริยมฺ ปฺราเยณ มาสตฺรยมฺ อิลีเศวยา สโหษิตฺวา วฺยาฆุยฺย นิชนิเวศนํ ยเยาฯ
57 Now Elizabeth's full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son.
ตทนนฺตรมฺ อิลีเศวายา: ปฺรสวกาล อุปสฺถิเต สติ สา ปุตฺรํ ปฺราโสษฺฏฯ
58 And her neighbors and her kinsfolk heard that the Lord had showed great mercy toward her; and they rejoiced with her.
ตต: ปรเมศฺวรสฺตสฺยำ มหานุคฺรหํ กฺฤตวานฺ เอตตฺ ศฺรุตฺวา สมีปวาสิน: กุฏุมฺพาศฺจาคตฺย ตยา สห มุมุทิเรฯ
59 And it came to pass that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they were about to call him Zachariah, after the name of his father.
ตถาษฺฏเม ทิเน เต พาลกสฺย ตฺวจํ เฉตฺตุมฺ เอตฺย ตสฺย ปิตฺฤนามานุรูปํ ตนฺนาม สิขริย อิติ กรฺตฺตุมีษุ: ฯ
60 And his mother answering said, Not so; but he shall be called John.
กินฺตุ ตสฺย มาตากถยตฺ ตนฺน, นามาสฺย โยหนฺ อิติ กรฺตฺตวฺยมฺฯ
61 And they said to her, There is no one of thy kindred that is called by this name.
ตทา เต วฺยาหรนฺ ตว วํศมเธฺย นาเมทฺฤศํ กสฺยาปิ นาสฺติฯ
62 And they made signs to his father, how he would have him named.
ตต: ปรํ ตสฺย ปิตรํ สิขริยํ ปฺรติ สงฺเกตฺย ปปฺรจฺฉุ: ศิโศ: กึ นาม การิษฺยเต?
63 And he asked for a writing-tablet, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they all marveled.
ตต: ส ผลกเมกํ ยาจิตฺวา ลิเลข ตสฺย นาม โยหนฺ ภวิษฺยติฯ ตสฺมาตฺ สรฺเวฺว อาศฺจรฺยฺยํ เมนิเรฯ
64 And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue was loosed; and he spoke, blessing God.
ตตฺกฺษณํ สิขริยสฺย ชิหฺวาชาเฑฺย'ปคเต ส มุขํ วฺยาทาย สฺปษฺฏวรฺณมุจฺจารฺยฺย อีศฺวรสฺย คุณานุวาทํ จการฯ
65 And fear came on all that dwelt around them; and all these things were talked of throughout the whole of the hill-country of Judaea.
ตสฺมาจฺจตุรฺทิกฺสฺถา: สมีปวาสิโลกา ภีตา เอวเมตา: สรฺวฺวา: กถา ยิหูทายา: ปรฺวฺวตมยปฺรเทศสฺย สรฺวฺวตฺร ปฺรจาริตา: ฯ
66 And all that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What then will this child be? For the hand of the Lord was with him.
ตสฺมาตฺ โศฺรตาโร มน: สุ สฺถาปยิตฺวา กถยามฺพภูวุ: กีทฺฤโศยํ พาโล ภวิษฺยติ? อถ ปรเมศฺวรสฺตสฺย สหาโยภูตฺฯ
67 And Zachariah his father was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying,
ตทา โยหน: ปิตา สิขริย: ปวิเตฺรณาตฺมนา ปริปูรฺณ: สนฺ เอตาทฺฤศํ ภวิษฺยทฺวากฺยํ กถยามาสฯ
68 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel! for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
อิสฺราเยล: ปฺรภุ รฺยสฺตุ ส ธนฺย: ปรเมศฺวร: ฯ อนุคฺฤหฺย นิชาโลฺลกานฺ ส เอว ปริโมจเยตฺฯ
69 and hath raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of David his servant, —
วิปกฺษชนหเสฺตโภฺย ยถา โมจฺยามเห วยํฯ ยาวชฺชีวญฺจ ธรฺมฺเมณ สารเลฺยน จ นิรฺภยา: ฯ
เสวามไห ตเมไวกมฺ เอตตฺการณเมว จฯ สฺวกียํ สุปวิตฺรญฺจ สํสฺมฺฤตฺย นิยมํ สทาฯ
71 salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us,
กฺฤปยา ปุรุษานฺ ปูรฺวฺวานฺ นิกษารฺถาตฺตุ น: ปิตุ: ฯ อิพฺราหีม: สมีเป ยํ ศปถํ กฺฤตวานฺ ปุราฯ
72 to accomplish his mercy toward our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant,
ตเมว สผลํ กรฺตฺตํ ตถา ศตฺรุคณสฺย จฯ ฤตียาการิณศฺไจว กเรโภฺย รกฺษณาย น: ฯ
73 the oath which he swore to Abraham our father,
สฺฤษฺเฏ: ปฺรถมต: สฺวีไย: ปวิไตฺร รฺภาวิวาทิภิ: ฯ (aiōn g165)
74 to grant to us, that being delivered from the hand of our enemies, we might worship him without fear,
ยโถกฺตวานฺ ตถา สฺวสฺย ทายูท: เสวกสฺย ตุฯ
75 in holiness and righteousness before him, all our days.
วํเศ ตฺราตารเมกํ ส สมุตฺปาทิตวานฺ สฺวยมฺฯ
76 And thou, child, shalt be called a prophet of the Most High; for thou shalt go in advance before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways,
อโต เห พาลก ตฺวนฺตุ สรฺเวฺวภฺย: เศฺรษฺฐ เอว ย: ฯ ตไสฺยว ภาวิวาทีติ ปฺรวิขฺยาโต ภวิษฺยสิฯ อสฺมากํ จรณานฺ เกฺษเม มารฺเค จาลยิตุํ สทาฯ เอวํ ธฺวานฺเต'รฺถโต มฺฤโตฺยศฺฉายายำ เย ตุ มานวา: ฯ
77 to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the remission of their sins
อุปวิษฺฏาสฺตุ ตาเนว ปฺรกาศยิตุเมว หิฯ กฺฤตฺวา มหานุกมฺปำ หิ ยาเมว ปรเมศฺวร: ฯ
78 through the tender mercy of our God, whereby the day-spring from on high hath visited us,
อูรฺทฺวฺวาตฺ สูรฺยฺยมุทาไยฺยวาสฺมภฺยํ ปฺราทาตฺตุ ทรฺศนํฯ ตยานุกมฺปยา สฺวสฺย โลกานำ ปาปโมจเนฯ
79 to give light to those sitting in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
ปริตฺราณสฺย เตโภฺย หิ ชฺญานวิศฺราณนาย จฯ ปฺรโภ รฺมารฺคํ ปริษฺกรฺตฺตุํ ตสฺยาคฺรายี ภวิษฺยสิ๚
80 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit; and was in the deserts till the day of his manifestation to Israel.
อถ พาลก: ศรีเรณ พุทฺธฺยา จ วรฺทฺธิตุมาเรเภ; อปรญฺจ ส อิสฺราเยโล วํศียโลกานำ สมีเป ยาวนฺน ปฺรกฏีภูตสฺตาสฺตาวตฺ ปฺรานฺตเร นฺยวสตฺฯ
