< Luke 9 >

1 And he called together the twelve, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.

2 And he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God, and to heal.
Le esia megbe la, edɔ wo ɖa be woagblɔ mawufiaɖuƒe la ƒe vavanya na ame sia ame, eye woayɔ dɔ dɔléle ɖe sia ɖe ƒomevi.
3 And he said to them, Take nothing for the journey, neither a staff, nor a bag, nor bread, nor money, nor have two coats apiece.

4 And into whatever house ye enter, there abide, and from it take your departure.

5 And whoever shall not receive you, shake off, when ye leave that city, even the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.
Nenye be amewo mexɔ mi le du aɖe me o la, midzo le dua me. Ke ne miedzo yina la, miʋuʋu ke si le miaƒe afɔwo ŋuti la ɖi hena ɖaseɖiɖi le dua ŋuti.
6 And they departed, and went through the towns publishing the glad tidings, and performing cures everywhere.
Ale nusrɔ̃lawo dze mɔ nɔ tsatsam le du kple kɔƒewo me, henɔ nyanyui la kakam, eye wonɔ gbe dam le dɔnɔwo hã ŋu.
7 And Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was taking place, and was perplexed; because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead;

8 and by some, that Elijah had appeared; and by others, that one of the old prophets had risen.
Ɖewo hã nɔ gbɔgblɔm be, “Eliya ɖe eɖokui fia.” Ame bubuwo hã be, “Nyagblɔɖila xoxoawo dometɔ ɖekae fɔ tso ame kukuwo dome.”
9 But Herod said, John I beheaded; but who is this, about whom I hear such things? And he sought to see him.
Le esia ta la, Herod gblɔ na eɖokui be, “Metso ta le Yohanes nu, ke ame kae nye esia si ŋu mele nya wɔnuku siawo sem tsoe?” Ale wòdi vevie be yeakpɔ Yesu.
10 And the apostles returned and told him what they had done; and taking them with him, he withdrew privately to a city called Bethsaida.

11 But the multitudes, when they knew it, followed him; and he welcomed them, and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing.

12 And when the day began to decline, the twelve came and said to him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages around, and the open country, and lodge, and get food; for we are here in a desert place.
Le ɣetrɔ miaa la, eƒe nusrɔ̃la wuieveawo va ƒoe ɖe enu be, “Na mɔ ameawo be woayi kɔƒewo kple agble siwo te ɖe afi sia ŋu la me aɖadi nuɖuɖu kple dɔƒe na wo ɖokuiwo, elabena naneke mele teƒe tsoabo sia woaƒle aɖu o.”
13 But he said to them, Do ye give them food. And they said, We have not more than five loaves and two fishes, unless we ourselves should go and buy food for l all these people.
Yesu ɖo eŋu na wo be, “Miawoe wòle be miadi nuɖuɖu na wo woaɖu.” Woawo hã gagblɔ nɛ be, “Aleke míawɔ ana nu wo woaɖu esi wònye be abolo atɔ̃ kple tɔmelã eve koe le míawo ŋutɔ si, alo ɖe nèdi be míayi aɖaƒle nuɖuɖu na ame gbogbo siawoa?”
14 They were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them lie down in companies of fifty.
(Wogblɔ esia, elabena ameha la ƒe xexlẽme ade akpe atɔ̃.) Yesu gblɔ na nusrɔ̃lawo be, “Migblɔ na ameawo be woanɔ anyi ɖe hatsotsowo me; ame abe blaatɔ̃ lɔƒo ene nenɔ hatsotso ɖeka me”
15 And they did so, and made them all lie down.

16 Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and broke and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude.
Azɔ Yesu tsɔ abolo atɔ̃ kple tɔmelã evea, eye wòwu mo dzi ɖe dziƒo heda akpe ɖe wo ta. Eŋe wo me kakɛkakɛ, eye wòtsɔ wo na nusrɔ̃lawo be woatsɔ wo aɖo ameawo ƒe akɔme.
17 And they ate, and were all filled; and what remained to them of fragments was taken up, twelve baskets.
Ame sia ame ɖu nu ɖi ƒo, eye le nua ɖuɖu vɔ megbe la, wofɔ kakɛ siwo susɔ la de kusi wuieve sɔŋ me woyɔ.
18 And it came to pass as he was in a private place praying, that his disciples were with him; and he asked them, saying, Who do the multitudes say that I am?
Gbe ɖeka la, esi Yesu nɔ gbe dom ɖa la, eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo nɔ egbɔ, eye wòbia wo be, “Ame kae amehawo gblɔna be menye?”
19 And they answering said, John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; and others, that one of the old prophets hath risen.
Nusrɔ̃lawo ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Ame aɖewo be wòe nye Yohanes Mawutsidenatamela la, bubuwo be Eliya, eye ɖewo hã gblɔ be blema Nyagblɔɖilawo dometɔ ɖeka si gbɔ agbe lae nènye.”
20 And he said to them, But who do ye say that I am? And Peter answering said, The Christ of God.
Yesu bia wo be “Miawo ya ɖe, ame kae miebu be menye?” Petro ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Wòe nye Mawu ƒe Kristo la!”
21 But he strictly charged them, and commanded them to tell this to no one;
Ke ede se na wo vevie be womegagblɔ nya sia na ame aɖeke o.
22 saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be put to death, and rise again on the third day.
Eyi edzi gblɔ na wo be, “Ele be Amegbetɔ Vi la nakpe fu geɖe, eye dumegãwo, nunɔlagãwo kple sefialawo agbe nu le egbɔ. Woawui, gake agafɔ le ŋkeke etɔ̃a gbe.”
23 And he said to all, If any one chooseth to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Egblɔ na wo be, “Ame si di be yeanɔ yonyeme la, ele nɛ be wòaɖe asi le xexe sia me nyawo ŋu atsɔ eƒe atitsoga gbe sia gbe, eye wòanɔ ŋunye ɖaa.
24 For whoever chooseth to save his life, will lose it; and whoever loseth his life for my sake, he will save it.
Ame si di be yeaɖe yeƒe agbe la, atsrɔ̃e. Ke ame si tsrɔ̃ eƒe agbe ɖe tanye la, aɖee boŋ.
25 For what is a man profited, if he gain the whole world, and lose or forfeit himself?
Viɖe ka ame akpɔ ne nu siwo katã le xexe sia me la zu etɔ ke to esia me la, wòabu eya ŋutɔ ƒe agbe?
26 For whoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of man be ashamed, when be cometh in his glory, and that of his Father, and of the holy angels.
“Ame siwo katã nye ŋutɔ kple nye nyawo le ŋu kpem na fifia la, woaɖo ŋku edzi be ne nye Amegbetɔ Vi la metrɔ va le bubu gã si Fofonye anam la me, eye mawudɔla kɔkɔewo ƒo xlãm la, ekema nye hã makpe ŋu le nenem ƒe ame siawo ŋu.
27 And I tell you in truth, that there are some of those standing here who will not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God.
“Enye nyateƒe matrɔmatrɔ be mia dometɔ aɖewo siwo le tsitre ɖe afi sia la maku akpɔ o, va se ɖe esime miaƒe ŋkuwo akpɔ mawufiaɖuƒe la!”
28 And it came to pass about eight days after this discourse, that he took with him Peter and John and James, and went up into the mountain to pray.
Le ŋkeke enyi megbe la, Yesu kplɔ Petro, Yakobo kple Yohanes ɖe asi woyi togbɛ aɖe dzi, afi si wòɖo be yeado gbe ɖa le.
29 And while he was praying, the appearance of his countenance was changed, and his raiment became white and glistening.
Esi wònɔ gbe dom ɖa la, eƒe mo de asi keklẽ me. Eƒe awuwo fu tititi henɔ dzo dam miamiamia.
30 And lo! two men were talking with him, who were Moses and Elijah;
Ŋutsu eve, Mose kple Eliya
31 who appeared in glory, and spoke of his departure which he was about to fulfill in Jerusalem.
wodo kple ŋutikɔkɔe gã aɖe henɔ nu ƒom kple Yesu. Woƒo nu tso eƒe dzodzo si ava va eme kpuie le Yerusalem la ŋu.
32 But Peter and those who were with him were weighed down with sleep. But when they awoke, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.
Le ɣeyiɣi sia me la, Petro kple nɔviawo nɔ alɔ̃ dɔm bɔkɔɔ. Esi wonyɔ la, wokpɔ be keklẽ kple ŋutikɔkɔe gã aɖe ƒo xlã Yesu, eye ŋutsu eve le tsitre ɖe egbɔ.
33 And it came to pass as they were parting from him, that Peter said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tents, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah; —not knowing what he said.
Esi ŋutsu eveawo nɔ dzodzom le Yesu gbɔ la, Petro gblɔ nɛ be, “Aƒetɔ, enyo be míeva afi sia. Na míatu agbadɔ etɔ̃, ɖeka na wò, ɖeka na Mose eye ɖeka na Eliya.” (Evɔ Petro menya nya si gblɔm wònɔ o.)
34 But as he was saying this, there came a cloud and overshadowed them; and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.

35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, “This is my chosen Son; hear him.”
Gbe aɖe ɖi tso lilikpo la me be, “Ame sia nye Vinye, si metia la, miɖo toe!”
36 And when the voice had come, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it secret, and told no one in those days anything of what they had seen.
Esi gbea ɖi vɔ ko la, Yesu ɖeɖe koe susɔ ɖe teƒea kple eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo. Nusrɔ̃la siawo mekɔ nu le nu si teƒe wokpɔ la dzi na ame aɖeke o, hena ɣeyiɣi didi aɖe.
37 And it came to pass that on the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a great multitude met him.
Le ŋufɔke esi woɖi tso togbɛa dzi gbɔna la, ameha gã aɖe va kpe Yesu.
38 And lo! a man from the multitude cried out, saying, Teacher, I beseech thee, look upon my son, for he is my only child;
Ŋutsu aɖe si nɔ wo dome la kɔ gbe dzi gblɔ nɛ be, “Nufiala, meɖe kuku na wò be nàkpɔ vinye ŋutsuvi sia ɖa; eya koe nye vi le asinye.
39 and lo! a spirit seizeth him, and suddenly crieth out, and convulseth him so that he foameth, and it departeth from him hardly, taking away all his strength.
Ke gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃ aɖe dzea edzi enuenu esi wɔnɛ be wòdoa ɣli sesĩe. Etsɔnɛ xlãna ɖe anyi sesĩe, ale be futukpɔ dona le enu bɔbɔbɔ. Gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃ sia ɖea fu nɛ ɣe sia ɣi kloe, eye menana wòkpɔa vovo kura o.
40 And I besought thy disciples to cast it out, and they could not.
Meɖe kuku na wò nusrɔ̃lawo be woanyae le eme, gake womete ŋui o.”
41 And Jesus answering said, O unbelieving and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and bear with you? Bring thy son hither.
Yesu xɔ edzi gblɔ na eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo be, “O! Mi xɔse ʋɛ tɔ kple dzi me makɔmakɔtɔ siawo, ŋkeke neni wòle be manɔ anyi kpli mi, eye mado dzi ahe mi ase ɖo? Kplɔ viwò ŋutsuvi la va afii.”
42 And while he was yet coming, the demon threw him down, and convulsed him. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him to his father.
Esi ŋutsuvi la gbɔna ɖe Yesu gbɔ la, gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃ la gaxlãe ɖe anyigba sesĩe, eye wònyamae ŋutɔ. Ke Yesu ɖe gbe na gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃a be wòado go le ɖevia me, eye wòdo le eme enumake; ale Yesu da gbe le ɖevia ŋu hetsɔe na fofoa.
43 And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they were all wondering at all the things which he did, he said to his disciples,
Ame sia ame ƒe mo wɔ yaa le ale si Yesu ɖe Mawu ƒe ŋusẽ fiae la ta. Esi ameha la nɔ nu ƒom le nu wɔnuku siwo katã wɔm wònɔ ŋu la, Yesu trɔ ɖe nusrɔ̃lawo gbɔ, gblɔ na wo be,
44 As for you, let these words sink into your ears; for the Son of man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men.
“Miɖo to afii, eye mialé nya si gblɔ ge mele na mi la ɖe ta me. Wole nye Amegbetɔ Vi la de ge asi.”
45 But they knew not the meaning of these words, and it was hidden from them, that they might not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask him about these words.
Gake nusrɔ̃lawo mese nya si wògblɔ la gɔme o, elabena wotsyɔ̃ nu woƒe susuwo dzi, gawu la, wovɔ̃ be yewoabia egɔme ase.
46 And there arose a reasoning among them, which of them was greatest.
Azɔ ʋiʋli aɖe va ɖo nusrɔ̃lawo dome le ame si anye gã wu ŋuti.
47 And Jesus knowing the reasoning of their heart, took a child and set him by his side,
Ke Yesu nya woƒe dzimesusuwo, eya ta ekɔ ɖevi sue aɖe da ɖe eƒe axadzi.
48 and said to them, Whoever receiveth this child in my name, receiveth me; and whoever receiveth me, receiveth him who sent me. For he that is least among you all, he is great.
Eye wògblɔ na wo be, “Ame si axɔ ɖevi sue sia le nye ŋkɔ dzi la, nyee wòxɔ. Ke ame si axɔm la, exɔ ame si dɔm la; elabena ame si ke nye suetɔ le mi katã dome la, eyae nye gãtɔ.”
49 And John answering said, Master, we saw one casting out demons in thy name, and we forbade him, because he doth not follow in our company.
Yesu ƒe nusrɔ̃la Yohanes va egbɔ va gblɔ nɛ be, “Aƒetɔ, míekpɔ ame aɖe wònɔ gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃wo nyam le wò ŋkɔ me ale míegbe nɛ be megawɔe o, elabena menye mía dometɔ ɖekae wònye o.”
50 But Jesus said to him, Forbid him not; for he that is not against you is for you.
Yesu ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Mele be miawɔ nenema o, elabena ame si metsi tsitre ɖe mia ŋu o la le mia dzi.”
51 And it came to pass, when the time was near for his being received up, that he himself steadily set his face to go to Jerusalem.
Esi Yesu ƒe ɣeyiɣi si wòle be wòatrɔ ayi dziƒo nɔ aƒe tum la, eɖo ta me kplikpaa ɖo ta Yerusalem,
52 And he sent messengers before him; and they went and entered a city of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.
eye le mɔa dzi la, edɔ amewo ɖo ɖe Samaria kɔƒe aɖe me be woaɖadi xɔ da ɖi na yeƒe vava.
53 And they did not receive him, because his face was as if he were going to Jerusalem.
Gake kɔƒea me tɔwo gbe be yewomana xɔ ame dɔdɔawo o, esi wònye Yerusalem woɖo yina ta.
54 And the disciples James and John, on seeing it, said, Lord, wilt thou have us bid fire come down from heaven, and consume them?
Esi Yakobo kple Yohanes se nya sia la, wogblɔ na Yesu be, “Aƒetɔ, míɖe gbe na dzo be wòatso dziƒo ava fia woa?”
55 But he turned and rebuked them.
Gake Yesu trɔ ɖe wo gbɔ, eye wògbe nya na wo.
56 And they went to another village.
Ale wodzo yi kɔƒe bubu me.
57 And as they were traveling on the way, one said to him, I will follow thee wherever thou goest.
Esi wonɔ mɔa dzi nɔ yiyim la, ame aɖe va tu Yesu gblɔ nɛ be, “Medi be makplɔ wò ɖo ayi afi sia afi si nàyi la.”
58 And Jesus said to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have lodging-places; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
Yesu ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Abeiwo la, do le wo si wodɔa eme, xeviwo hã, atɔ le wo si wodɔa eme, gake Amegbetɔ Vi la mekpɔ afi si wòatsɔ ta aziɔ ɖo o.”
59 And he said to another, Follow me. But he said, Suffer me first to go and bury my father.
Egblɔ na ame bubu be, “Dze yonyeme!” Ke ŋutsu la ɖo eŋu be, “Aƒetɔ, na mayi aɖaɖi fofonye gbã hafi.”
60 And he said to him, Let the dead bury their own dead; but go thou and carry the tidings of the kingdom of God.
Yesu ɖo eŋu gblɔ nɛ be, “Na ame siwo nye ame kukuwo la naɖi woƒe ame kukuwo, ke wò ya yi naɖe gbeƒã mawufiaɖuƒe la na amewo.”
61 And another also said, I will follow thee, Lord; but first let me bid farewell to those who are in my house.
Ame bubu aɖe si hã wòyɔ la gblɔ nɛ be, “Aƒetɔ, madze yowòme, gake na mayi aɖaklã nye ƒometɔwo gbã hafi mava.”
62 And Jesus said to him, No one who looketh back after putting his hand to the plough is fit for the kingdom of God.
Yesu gblɔ nɛ be, “Ame si le agble ŋlɔm, eye wògale megbe kpɔm la medze na mawufiaɖuƒe la o.”
