Luke 8
1 And it came to pass afterward, that he journeyed through cities and villages, preaching and publishing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God; and the twelve were with him,
౧ఆ తరువాత ఆయన ప్రతి పట్టణానికీ ప్రతి గ్రామానికీ దేవుని రాజ్య సువార్త బోధిస్తూ, ప్రకటిస్తూ సంచారం చేస్తున్నాడు.
2 and certain women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons,
౨పన్నెండుగురు శిష్యులు, అపవిత్రాత్మలనుంచీ, రోగాలనుంచీ ఆయన బాగుచేసిన కొందరు స్త్రీలూ, అంటే ఏడు దయ్యాలు వదిలిపోయిన మగ్దలేనే మరియ,
3 and Joanna, the wife of Chuzas, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who afforded them aid from their substance.
౩హేరోదు గృహ నిర్వాహకుడైన కూజా అనే అతని భార్య యోహన్నా, సూసన్నా ఇంకా అనేకమంది ఇతర స్త్రీలూ ఆయనతో కూడా ఉన్నారు. వారంతా తమ స్వంత ధనం, సామగ్రిని వెచ్చించి ఆయనకు, ఆయన శిష్యులకు సహాయం చేసేవారు.
4 And a great multitude collecting together, and people from the cities going out to him, he spoke by a parable:
౪ఒకసారి ప్రతి పట్టణం నుండీ ప్రజలు పెద్ద గుంపులుగా యేసు దగ్గరికి వస్తున్నారు. అప్పుడు ఆయన వారికి ఒక ఉపమానం చెప్పాడు.
5 A sower went forth to sow his seed; and as he sowed, some seeds fell by the way-side; and they were trodden down, and the birds of the air devoured them.
౫“విత్తనాలు చల్లేవాడు చల్లడానికి బయలుదేరాడు. అతడు చల్లుతూ ఉండగా కొన్ని విత్తనాలు దారి పక్కన పడి మనుషుల కాళ్ళ కింద నలిగిపోయాయి. కాబట్టి గాలిలో ఎగిరే పక్షులు వాటిని మింగివేశాయి.
6 And others fell upon rocky ground; and when they had sprung up they withered away, because they had no moisture.
౬మరి కొన్ని రాతి నేల మీద పడ్డాయి. అవి మొలిచాయి కానీ లోపల తడి లేకపోవడంతో ఎండిపోయాయి.
7 And others fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up with them, and choked them.
౭మరి కొన్ని ముళ్ళపొదల మధ్యలో పడ్డాయి. ముళ్ళపొదలు వాటితో కూడా మొలిచి వాటిని అణచి వేశాయి.
8 And others fell upon good ground, and sprung up, and bore fruit, a hundred-fold. While saying these things, he cried aloud, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
౮మరి కొన్ని మంచి నేలపై పడ్డాయి. అవి మొలిచి నూరు రెట్లుగా ఫలించాయి.” ఆయన ఇలా చెప్పి, “వినడానికి చెవులున్నవాడు విను గాక” అని బిగ్గరగా అన్నాడు.
9 And his disciples asked him what this parable meant.
౯ఆయన శిష్యులు, “ఈ ఉపమానం అర్థం ఏమిటి?” అని అడిగారు
10 And he said, To you it hath been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God; but to others [[these things are spoken]] in parables; that while seeing they may not see, and while hearing they may not understand.
౧౦ఆయన, “దేవుని రాజ్య రహస్య సత్యాలు తెలుసుకునే ఆధిక్యత మీరు పొందారు. ఇతరులైతే చూస్తూ ఉన్నా నిజంగా చూడకుండా, వింటూ ఉన్నా అర్థం చేసుకోకుండా ఉంటారు గనక వారికి ఉపమానాల్లోనే బోధిస్తున్నాను.
11 Now the meaning of the parable is this. The seed is the word of God.
౧౧ఈ ఉపమానానికి అర్థం ఏమిటంటే విత్తనం దేవుని వాక్యం.
12 Those by the way-side are they that hear; then cometh the Devil and taketh away the word from their heart, that they may not believe and be saved.
౧౨దారి పక్కన పడిన విత్తనాలు ఎవరంటే వీరు వాక్కును వింటారు గానీ నమ్మి రక్షణ పొందకుండా అపవాది వచ్చి వారి హృదయాల్లో నుండి ఆ వాక్యాన్ని తీసివేస్తాడు.
13 Those on the rocky ground are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root; and for a while they believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
౧౩రాతి నేలపై పడిన విత్తనాలు ఎవరంటే వింటున్నప్పుడు వాక్యాన్ని సంతోషంగా అంగీకరించే వారు. కానీ వారిలో వేరు లేదు కాబట్టి కొంతకాలం నమ్మి తరువాత విషమ పరీక్షల కాలంలో తొలగిపోతారు.
14 And those seeds which fell among the thorns, these are they who, when they have heard, go away and are choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
౧౪ముళ్ళ పొదల్లో పడిన విత్తనాలు ఎవరిని పోలిన వారంటే, వీరు వింటారు గానీ కాలం గడిచే కొద్దీ జీవితంలో ఎదురయ్యే చింతలతో, సుఖాలతో, సంపదలతో ఉక్కిరి బిక్కిరై అణగారి పోతారు. వీరి ఫలం పక్వానికి రాదు.
15 But the seeds on the good ground, these are they who in an honest and good heart, when they have heard the word, hold it fast, and bear fruit with constancy.
౧౫మంచి నేలపై పడే విత్తనాలు ఎవరంటే యోగ్యమైన మంచి మనసుతో వాక్కును విని, భద్రంగా చేపట్టి ఓపికతో ఫలించేవారు.
16 And no one having lighted a lamp, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light.
౧౬“ఎవరూ దీపాన్ని వెలిగించి బుట్టతో కప్పివేయడు, మంచం కింద పెట్టడు. ఇంట్లోకి వచ్చే వారికి వెలుగు కనిపించేలా దీపస్తంభంపై ఉంచుతాడు.
17 For nothing is secret, that will not be made manifest; nor hidden, that will not be known, and come to light.
౧౭తేటతెల్లం కాని రహస్యమేదీ లేదు. తెలియకుండా, బయట పడకుండా, దాగి ఉండిపోయేది ఏదీ లేదు.
18 Take heed therefore how ye hear; for whoever hath, to him will be given; and whoever hath not, from him will be taken even what he seemeth to have.
౧౮కలిగిన వ్యక్తికే ఇస్తారు, లేని వ్యక్తి నుండి తనకు ఉంది అనుకున్నది కూడా తీసివేస్తారు. కాబట్టి మీరు ఎలా వింటున్నారో చూసుకోండి” అన్నాడు.
19 And his mother and his brothers came where he was, and could not get to him on account of the crowd.
౧౯ఆయన తల్లీ సోదరులూ అక్కడికి వచ్చారు గానీ అంతా గుంపుగా ఉండడం వల్ల ఆయనకు దగ్గరగా రాలేకపోయారు.
20 And word was brought to him, Thy mother and thy brothers stand without, desiring to see thee.
౨౦అప్పుడు, “నిన్ను చూడ్డానికి నీ తల్లీ నీ సోదరులూ వచ్చి బయట నిలుచున్నారు” అని ఎవరో ఆయనతో అన్నారు.
21 And he answering said to them, My mother and my brothers are these, who hear the word of God, and do it.
౨౧అందుకు ఆయన, “దేవుని వాక్యాన్ని విని దాని ప్రకారం జరిగించే వారే నా తల్లీ నా తమ్ముళ్ళూ” అన్నాడు.
22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a boat with his disciples, and said to them, Let us go over to the other side of the lake; and they put off.
౨౨మరొక రోజు ఆయన తన శిష్యులతో కలిసి పడవ ఎక్కి, “సరస్సు అవతలి వైపుకు వెళ్దాం” అన్నాడు. వారు ఆ పడవను నీటిలోకి తోసి బయలుదేరారు.
23 But as they were sailing, he fell asleep. And there came down a storm of wind on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy.
౨౩వారు ప్రయాణమయ్యాక ఆయన నిద్రపోయాడు. ఈలోగా సరస్సు మీద బలమైన గాలివాన వచ్చి పడవలోకి నీళ్ళు వచ్చేశాయి. వారి స్థితి ప్రమాదకరంగా మారింది.
24 And they came and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we are perishing! And he rose, and rebuked the wind, and the surging of the water; and they ceased, and there was a calm.
౨౪కాబట్టి వారు ఆయన దగ్గరికి వచ్చి, “ప్రభూ! ప్రభూ! నశించిపోతున్నాం” అంటూ ఆయనను లేపారు. ఆయన లేచి, గాలినీ, ఉవ్వెత్తున లేచే కెరటాలనూ గద్దించాడు. అవి అణిగిపోయి అంతా నిశ్శబ్దంగా అయింది.
25 And he said to them, Where is your faith? And they were afraid, and wondered, saying one to another, Who then is this, that he commandeth even the winds and the water, and they obey him?
౨౫అప్పుడు ఆయన, “మీ విశ్వాసం ఎక్కడ?” అన్నాడు. వారు భయపడి, “ఈయన గాలికీ నీళ్లకూ ఆజ్ఞాపిస్తే అవి లోబడుతున్నాయి. ఈయన ఎవరో” అని ఒకరితో ఒకరు చెప్పుకుంటూ ఆశ్చర్యపోయారు.
26 And they sailed to the country of the Gergesenes, which is over against Galilee.
౨౬వారు గలిలయకి ఎదురుగా ఉండే గెరాసేను ప్రాంతానికి వచ్చారు.
27 And when he had landed, there met him a certain man out of the city who had demons, and for a long time had worn no clothes, and abode not in a house, but in the tombs.
౨౭ఆయన ఒడ్డున దిగగానే ఆ ఊరి వాడు ఒకడు ఆయనను ఎదుర్కోడానికి వచ్చాడు. వాడికి దయ్యాలు పట్టి చాలా కాలం నుండి బట్టలు కట్టుకోకుండా తిరుగుతున్నాడు. సమాధులే వాడి నివాసం. ఇంట్లో ఉండేవాడు కాదు.
28 And seeing Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and said with a loud voice, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, Son of the most high God? I beseech thee, do not torment me.
౨౮వాడు యేసును చూసి, కేకలు వేశాడు. వచ్చి ఆయన ఎదుట సాష్టాంగ నమస్కారం చేశాడు. అతడు “సర్వోన్నత దేవుని కుమారా, యేసూ, నా జోలి నీకెందుకు? నన్ను బాధించకు. నిన్ను బతిమాలుకుంటున్నాను” అంటూ కేకలు పెట్టాడు.
29 For he was about to command the unclean spirit to come out of the man; for it had possessed him for a long time, and he had been kept bound and secured with chains and fetters; and bursting the bands, he had been driven by the demon into the wilderness.
౨౯ఎందుకంటే ఆయన, “ఈ వ్యక్తిని వదిలి బయటకు రా” అని ఆ అపవిత్రాత్మకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చాడు. అది చాలాసార్లు వాణ్ణి పట్టి పీడిస్తుంది. వాణ్ణి గొలుసులతోనూ, కాలి సంకెళ్ళతోనూ బంధించి వాడికి కాపలా పెట్టారు గానీ వాడు ఆ బంధకాలన్నిటినీ తెంచుకునేవాడు. దయ్యాలు వాణ్ణి చవిటి భూముల్లోకి తీసుకుపోయేవి.
30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion; because many demons had entered into him.
౩౦యేసు, “నీ పేరు ఏమిటి?” అని వాడిని అడిగాడు. చాలా దయ్యాలు వాడిలో చొరబడి ఉన్నాయి. కాబట్టి వాడు, “నా పేరు సైన్యం” అన్నాడు.
౩౧పాతాళంలోకి వెళ్ళమని తనకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇవ్వవద్దని అవి ఆయనను ఎంతో బతిమాలాయి. (Abyssos g12)
32 Now there was there a herd of many swine feeding on the mountain; and they besought him to permit them to go into them. And he permitted them.
౩౨అక్కడ పెద్ద పందుల మంద ఒకటి కొండ మీద మేస్తూ ఉంది. వాటిలో చొరబడడానికి అనుమతినిమ్మని ఆయనను బతిమాలినప్పుడు ఆయన వాటికి అనుమతినిచ్చాడు.
33 And the demons coming out of the man went into the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep into the lake, and were drowned.
౩౩అప్పుడు దయ్యాలు ఆ వ్యక్తిని విడిచి పెట్టి వెళ్ళి పందుల్లో చొరబడ్డాయి. అప్పుడు ఆ మంద ఎత్తయిన కొండపై నుండి పరుగెత్తుకుంటూ వెళ్ళి సరస్సులో పడి ఊపిరాడక చచ్చాయి.
34 And the herdsmen, seeing what was done, fled, and told the news in the city and in the country.
౩౪ఆ పందులను మేపుతున్న వారు ఇదంతా చూసి పారిపోయారు. వారు పట్టణంలోనూ చుట్టుపక్కల గ్రామాల్లోనూ జరిగిందంతా చెప్పారు.
35 And they went out to see what had been done. And they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone out sitting, clothed, and in his right mind, at the feet of Jesus; and they were afraid.
౩౫ఆ ఊరి ప్రజలు అదంతా చూడడానికి వెళ్ళారు. వారంతా యేసు దగ్గరికి వచ్చారు. అక్కడ దయ్యాలు వదిలిన వాడు బట్టలు కట్టుకుని స్థిమితంగా యేసు పాదాల దగ్గర కూర్చుని ఉండడం చూసి భయపడ్డారు.
36 And they who had seen it told them how he that was possessed by demons was made well.
౩౬జరిగిన దాన్ని దగ్గరగా చూసిన వారు వాడు ఎలా బాగయ్యాడో ప్రజలకు చెప్పారు.
37 And the whole multitude in the surrounding country of the Gergesenes besought him to depart from them; for they were seized with great fear. And he went on board a boat and returned.
౩౭గెరాసేను ప్రాంతాల్లో ఉన్నవారంతా ఎంతో భయపడ్డారు. తమను విడిచి వెళ్ళమని ఆయనను బతిమాలుకున్నారు.
38 And the man out of whom the demons had gone besought him that he might be with him. But he sent him away, saying,
౩౮ఆయన తిరిగి పడవ ఎక్కి వెళ్ళబోతుంటే దయ్యాలు వదిలిన వ్యక్తి తనను కూడా ఆయనతో ఉండనిమ్మని బతిమాలాడు.
39 Return to thy house, and tell what great things God hath done for thee. And he went and published through the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.
౩౯కానీ ఆయన, “నువ్వు నీ ఇంటికి వెళ్ళి దేవుడు నీకు చేసిన గొప్ప విషయాలను చెప్పు” అని వాణ్ణి పంపివేశాడు. వాడు వెళ్ళి యేసు తనకు చేసిన గొప్ప కార్యాన్ని గురించి ఆ పట్టణమంతా ప్రకటించాడు.
40 And it came to pass when Jesus returned, that the multitude welcomed him; for they were all waiting for him.
౪౦ఇవతలి ఒడ్డున జనమంతా ఆయన కోసం ఎదురు చూస్తూ ఉన్నారు. కాబట్టి యేసు తిరిగి రాగానే వారు ఆయనను సంతోషంగా స్వీకరించారు.
41 And lo! there came a man, named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue; and falling at the feet of Jesus, he besought him to come into his house;
౪౧అప్పుడు యాయీరు అనే ఒక సమాజ మందిర అధికారి వచ్చి ఆయన పాదాలపై పడ్డాడు.
42 for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. And as he went, the multitudes thronged him.
౪౨సుమారు పన్నెండేళ్ళ వయసున్న అతని ఏకైక కుమార్తె జబ్బుపడి చావడానికి సిద్ధంగా ఉంది కాబట్టి ఆయనను తన ఇంటికి రమ్మని బతిమాలుకున్నాడు. ఆయన వెళ్తుంటే కిక్కిరిసిన జన సమూహం ఆయన మీద పడుతున్నారు.
43 And a woman who had had an issue of blood twelve years, and had spent all her living upon physicians, and could not be cured by any one,
౪౩అప్పుడు పన్నెండేళ్ళ నుండి రక్త స్రావ రోగంతో బాధ పడుతున్న ఒక స్త్రీ అక్కడ ఉంది. ఆమె తనకున్నదంతా వైద్యులకు ఖర్చు చేసింది. కానీ ఎక్కడా నయం కాలేదు.
44 came up behind and touched the fringe of his garment; and immediately her issue of blood ceased.
౪౪ఆమె ఆయనకి వెనకగా వచ్చి ఆయన పైవస్త్రం అంచును తాకింది. వెంటనే ఆమె రక్తస్రావం ఆగిపోయింది.
45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? And when all denied it, Peter and those with him said, Master, the multitudes are thronging thee, and pressing against thee.
౪౫యేసు, “నన్ను తాకిందెవరు?” అని అడిగాడు. చుట్టూ ఉన్నవారు, “మాకు తెలియదే” అన్నారు. అప్పుడు పేతురు, “ప్రభూ, జనమంతా తోసుకుంటూ నీ చుట్టూ క్రిక్కిరిసి నీమీద పడుతున్నారు” అన్నాడు.
46 But Jesus said, Some one touched me; for I perceived that power went out from me.
౪౬అయితే యేసు, “ఎవరో నన్ను తాకారు. నాలో నుండి ప్రభావం బయటకు వెళ్ళిందని నాకు తెలిసింది” అన్నాడు.
47 And the woman, seeing that she was discovered, came trembling, and falling down before him declared before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was cured immediately.
౪౭ఇక తాను దాగి ఉండలేనని ఆ స్త్రీకి అర్థమైంది. ఆమె వణకుతూ ముందుకు వచ్చి ఆయన ఎదుట సాష్టాంగ నమస్కారం చేసి తాను ఎందుకు ఆయన వస్త్రాన్ని ముట్టుకున్నదో, వెంటనే ఎలా బాగుపడిందో అంతా ప్రజలందరి ఎదుటా వివరించి చెప్పింది.
48 And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee well; go in peace.
౪౮అందుకు ఆయన, “అమ్మాయీ, నీ విశ్వాసం నిన్ను బాగు చేసింది. ప్రశాంతంగా వెళ్ళు” అన్నాడు.
49 While he was yet speaking, there cometh one from the house of the ruler of the synagogue, saying, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Teacher any further.
౪౯ఆయన ఇంకా మాట్లాడుతూ ఉండగానే సమాజ మందిరం అధికారి ఇంటి నుండి ఒక వ్యక్తి వచ్చి యాయీరుతో, “మీ అమ్మాయి చనిపోయింది. బోధకుడిని ఇక బాధ పెట్టవద్దు” అని చెప్పాడు.
50 But Jesus hearing this, answered him, Fear not; only believe, and she will be made well.
౫౦యేసు ఆ మాట విని, “భయపడకు, నమ్ము. ఆమె బాగవుతుంది” అని చెప్పాడు.
51 And going into the house, he suffered no one to go in with him but Peter and John and James, and the father of the maiden, and the mother.
౫౧అతని ఇంటికి వచ్చినప్పుడు పేతురు, యోహాను, యాకోబులనూ ఆ అమ్మాయి తల్లిదండ్రులనూ తప్ప మరెవర్నీ లోపలికి రానివ్వలేదు.
52 And all were weeping, and lamenting for her. But he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleeping.
౫౨అందరూ ఆమె కోసం ఏడుస్తూ, విలపిస్తూ ఉన్నారు. ఆయన వారితో, “ఏడవ వద్దు, ఆమె నిద్రిస్తున్నదే గానీ చనిపోలేదు” అన్నాడు.
53 And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.
౫౩ఆమె చనిపోయిందని వారికి తెలుసు కాబట్టి వారు ఆయనను ఎగతాళి చేశారు.
54 But he took hold of her hand, and called aloud, saying, Maiden, arise!
౫౪అయితే ఆయన ఆమె చెయ్యి పట్టుకుని, “అమ్మాయీ, లే” అని చెప్పగానే
55 And her spirit returned, and she immediately arose. And he ordered food to be given to her.
౫౫ఆమెకు ప్రాణం తిరిగి వచ్చింది. ఆమె వెంటనే లేచింది. అప్పుడు ఆయన, “ఆమెకు భోజనం పెట్టండి” అని ఆదేశించాడు.
56 And her parents were amazed. But he charged them to tell no one what had been done.
౫౬ఆమె తల్లిదండ్రులు ఆనందాశ్చర్యాల్లో మునిగిపోయారు. అప్పుడు ఆయన, “జరిగింది ఎవరికీ చెప్పవద్దు” అని వారికి ఆజ్ఞాపించాడు.
