8 For even I am a man set under authority, having soldiers under me; and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
Ndava muni nene mewa, mundu mwenivikiwi pahi ya uhotola wa vakulu vangu nivi na manjolinjoli, nikamjovelayi mmonga, ‘Hambayi!’ Ihamba, nikamjovela yungi, ‘Bwelayi!’ Na mwene ibwela, Nikamjovelayi na mvanda wangu, ‘Kita naha!’ Namwene ikita.”
9 And Jesus hearing this, wondered at him; and turning round said to the multitude that followed him, I say to you, Not even in Israel have I found such faith.
Yesu akakangasa paayuwini genago, akaung'anamukila msambi wa vandu wewamlandali, akavajovela, “Niloli lepi sadika yivaha ngati iyi hati pagati ya vandu va Isilaeli!”
10 And they who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well.
Ndi vandu vala pavawuyili kunyumba vakamkolela mtumisi yula alamili.

15 And he that was dead sat up and began to speak; and he gave him to his mother.
Mweafwi yula akayima akatumbula kulongela. Yesu akampela mau yula mwana waki.
16 And fear seized on all, and they gave glory to God, saying, A great prophet hath risen up among us; and, God hath visited his people.
Ndi vandu voha vakavya na wogohi, vakatumbula kumulumbalila Chapanga. Vakajova, “Mlota mkulu wa Chapanga atihumali pagati yitu, Chapanga abwelili kuvatangila vandu vaki.”
17 And this report about him went forth in all Judaea, and in all the neighboring country.
Mambu genago gakadandasika pamulima woha wa Yudea na milima yoha yeyavi papipi.
18 And the disciples of John told him all these things.
Vawuliwa vaki Yohani pevamjovili mambu goha. Ndi akavakemela vawuliwa vavili,
19 And calling to him two of his disciples, John sent them to the Lord, saying, Art thou he that is to come, or are we to look for another?
akavatuma kwa Bambu vakamkotayi, “Veve ndi msangula mweibwela, amala timulindila yungi?”
20 And the men came to him and said, John the Baptist hath sent us to thee, saying, Art thou he that is to come, or are we to look for another?
Pavahikili kwa Yesu, vakamjovela, “Yohani Mbatizaji atitumili tikukotayi, ngati veve ndi msangula mweibwela, amala timlindila yungi.”
21 In that hour he cured many of diseases, and plagues, and evil spirits, and to many who were blind he gave sight.

22 And he answered and said to them, Go and tell John what ye have seen and heard; that the blind receive sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor good tidings are brought;
Ndi akavajovela muhamba mukamjovela Yohani goha gemugaweni na kuyuwana. Vangalola vilola, vangagenda vigenda, vanamabudi vinyambiswa, vangayuwa viyuwana, vavafwili vihyukiswa, na vangangu vikokosewa Lilovi la Bwina.
23 and blessed is he, whoever shall find no occasion of stumbling in me.
Ahekayi mundu yula mweangayoma ndava ya nene!
24 And when the messengers of John had departed, he began to say to the multitudes concerning John, What have ye gone out into the wilderness to see? the reeds shaken by the wind?
Vajumbi va Yohani vala pavawukili, ndi Yesu akatumbula kuukota msambi wa vandu gakumuvala Yohani, “Pamwahambili kulugangatu kumlola Yohani, mwaganili kulola kiki? Wu, mwaholalili kumlola mundu mweavi ngati lidete lelinyuguswa na mpungu?
25 But what have ye gone out to see? a man clothed in soft raiment? Lo! they who wear gorgeous apparel, and live luxuriously, are in kings' palaces.
Hinu, mwahambili kulola kiki? Mundu mwaawali nyula za nyililili? Vandu veviwala chakujinyambisa na kutama wumi wabwina, venavo vavi munyumba za vankosi.

27 This is he of whom it is written, “Lo! I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.”
Yohani mwenuyu ndi malovi gayandikiwi mu Mayandiku kumvala mwene, ‘Lola nene nikumtuma mjumbi wangu akulongolela, ndava ya kukukwalila njila yaku.’
28 I say to you, Among those born of women there is no greater prophet than John; but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
Yesu akamalakisila kujova,” “Kawaka mundu, mweavelikiwi na mdala mkulu kuliku Yohani Mbatizaji. Nambu mweavi mdebe muunkosi wa Chapanga, mwenuyo ndi mkulu kuliku mwene.”
29 And all the people when they heard him, and the publicans, acknowledged God as righteous by being baptized with the baptism of John.
Vandu voha pamonga na vatola kodi vevabatiziwi na Yohani, pevayuwini genago, vakayidakila Chapanga ndi mchakaka.
30 But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the purpose of God toward themselves, not being baptized by him.
Nambu Vafalisayu na vawula va Malagizu vala vevabatiziwi lepi na Yohani, ndi vabeli mpangu wa Chapanga ndava ya mambu gavi.
31 To what then shall I compare the men of this generation, and what are they like?
Yesu akavajovela, “Chiveleku cha vandu ava kwali nivawanangisa na kyani? Vene vandu ava valingini na kiki?
32 They are like children sitting in the market-place, and calling one to another, saying, We piped to you, and ye did not dance; we sung a dirge, and ye did not weep.
Vavi ngati vana vevatamii pandu pakugulisila vindu vikemelana, chikundi chimonga na chiyaki, ‘Tivabetili chitolilo nambu nyenye mwanga kina! Tivayimbili nyimbu za malilu nambu muvembi lepi!’
33 For John the Baptist hath come not eating bread, nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a demon.
Yohani peabweli, ajihinisi chakulya wala kunywa divayi, mkamjova ‘Mwenuyu anamzuka!’
34 The Son of man hath come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold, a glutton and a wine-bibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
Mwana wa Mundu abwelili, ilya na kunywa, nyenye mujova, ‘Mumlola muhutulu na chigaligali uyu, nkozi wa vatola kodi na vandu vevakumbudila Chapanga!’
35 But wisdom is acknowledged by all her children.
Nambu luhala lwa Chapanga lulangisa, yakuvya chakaka kwa voha vevakuluyidakila.”
36 And one of the Pharisees asked him to eat with him; and he went into the Pharisee's house, and reclined at the table.

39 And the Pharisee who had invited him, when he saw this, said within himself, This man, if he were a prophet, would know who, and what sort of woman, this is that toucheth him; for she is a sinner.
Mfalisayu mweamugongolili Yesu pealoli genago akaholalela mumtima waki, “Mwe mundu uyu ngaavi chakaka mlota wa Chapanga, ngaammanyi mdala mweampamisi, kuvya mweakumbudila Chapanga!”
40 And Jesus answering said to him, Simon, I have somewhat to say to thee. And he saith, Teacher, say on.
Yesu akamjovela mfalisayu yula. “Simoni, chivii chindu chenigana kukujovela.” Simoni, akamyangula, “Ena muwula, jovayi.”
41 A certain money-lender had two debtors; one owed five hundred denaries, and the other fifty.
Yesu akajova, “Vandu vavili vamuyahiki mundu mashonga. Mmonga ayayiki mashonga ga luhuna lwa mwaka umonga na miheyi sita na yungi ayaiki mashonga ga luhuna lwa mwehi umonga na majuma gavili.
42 When they had nothing to pay, he freely remitted the debt of both. Which of them, now, will love him the most?
Voha vavili vavilepi na mashonga ga kuwuyisa, mundu yula avahulumili voha. Hinu yani mweakumugana neju bambu yula?”
43 Simon answering said, He, I suppose, to whom he remitted the most. And he said to him, Thou hast judged rightly.
Simoni akamyangula, “Chakaka mweahulumiwi mashonga ga mahele yula alamugana neju bambu yula.” Yesu akamjovela, “Uhamwili chabwina.”
44 And turning to the woman, he said to Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered thy house, no water didst thou give me for my feet; but she wet my feet with tears, and wiped them with her hair.
Kangi akamng'anamukila mdala yula na akamjovela Simoni, “Umlola mdala uyu? Penikayingili munyumba yaku unipeli lepi manji gakusamba mumagendelu gangu, nambu mdala uyu anitepatisi magendelu gangu na maholi gaki na kuhungula na mayunju gaki.
45 No kiss didst thou give me; but she, from the time I came in, did not cease to kiss my feet.
Penikayingili unikemili lepi chakunibusu mulitama, nambu mdala uyu kutumbula panakayingila hakotwiki lepi kunijambusa cha kunibusu litama laki mumagendelu gangu.
46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint; but she anointed my feet with costly ointment.
Uninyalili lepi mahuta ga zeituni kumutu veve, nambu mdala uyu aninyalili mahuta geginungalila bwina mumagendelu gangu.
47 Wherefore, I say to thee, her many sins have been forgiven; for she loved much; but he to whom little is forgiven loveth little.
Nikukujovela, alekekisiwi kumbudila Chapanga pamahele ndava muni alangisi uganu uvaha. Nambu mundu mwealekekiswi kumbudila Chapanga padebe ilangisa uganu udebe.”
48 And he said to her, Thy sins have been forgiven.
Yesu akamjovela mdala yula, “Ulekekiswi goha geumbudili Chapanga.”
49 And those who were at table with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that even forgiveth sins?
Vandu vala vavatamili na Yesu pakulya pala, vakatumbula kukotana, “Mundu uyu ndi yani? Hati ihotola kulekekesa vandu vevakumbudila Chapanga?”
50 But he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
Ndi Yesu akamjovela mdala yula, “Kusadika kwaku kukulamisi, uhamba na uteke.”
