Luke 7
1 When he had ended all his discourse in the hearing of the people, he entered Capernaum.
येशूले मानिसहरूलाई यी सबै कुराहरू भनिसकेपछि उहाँ कफर्नहुममा आउनुभयो।
2 And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick, and about to die.
त्यहाँ एक जना सेनापतिको सेवक, जो तिनको प्यारो थियो; त्यो बिरामी भएर मर्नै लागेको थियो।
3 And having heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, and besought him to come and save his servant.
ती सेनापतिले जब येशूको बारेमा सुने, तब तिनले यहूदीहरूका केही प्रधानहरूलाई येशूसमक्ष उहाँ आएर तिनको सेवकलाई निको पारिदिनुहुन बिन्ती गर्न पठाए।
4 And they came to Jesus, and besought him earnestly, saying, He is worthy that thou shouldst do this for him;
तिनीहरूले येशूकहाँ आएर उहाँलाई आग्रहपूर्वक बिन्ती गरे, “यी मानिस तपाईंले यो काम गरिदिन योग्यका छन्,
5 for he loveth our nation, and himself built the synagogue for us.
किनकि तिनले हाम्रो जातिलाई प्रेम गर्दछन् र तिनले हाम्रा सभाघर पनि बनाइदिएका हुन्।”
6 And Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying, Lord, trouble not thyself; for I am not worthy that thou shouldst come under my roof;
अनि येशू तिनीहरूसँग जानुभयो। उहाँ घर नजिकै आइपुग्नुभएपछि सेनापतिले आफ्ना मित्रहरूलाई उहाँकहाँ यसो भन्न पठाए: “प्रभु, दुःख नउठाउनुहोस्; किनकि तपाईं मेरो छानोमुनि आउनुहुने योग्यको पनि म छैनँ।
7 on which account I did not think myself worthy to come to thee; but command with a word, and let my servant be healed.
त्यसकारण म आफैँलाई पनि तपाईंकहाँ आउनसक्ने योग्यको ठानिनँ। तर वचन मात्र बोलिदिनुहोस्, र मेरो सेवक निको हुनेछ।
8 For even I am a man set under authority, having soldiers under me; and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
किनकि म आफैँ पनि अधिकारमुनि रहने मानिस हुँ। अनि मेरा अधीनमा पनि सिपाहीहरू छन्। म एउटालाई ‘जा,’ भन्छु, र त्यो जान्छ। अनि अर्कोलाई ‘आइज,’ भन्छु; र त्यो आउँछ। म मेरो सेवकलाई ‘यसो गर्,’ भन्छु, र त्यसले त्यो गर्छ।”
9 And Jesus hearing this, wondered at him; and turning round said to the multitude that followed him, I say to you, Not even in Israel have I found such faith.
यो सुनेपछि येशू तिनीसँग आश्चर्यचकित हुनुभयो, र आफूलाई पछ्याइरहेका भीडतिर फर्केर उहाँले भन्नुभयो, “म तिमीहरूलाई भन्दछु, मैले यस्तो ठूलो विश्वास इस्राएलीहरूमा पनि देखेको छैनँ।”
10 And they who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well.
त्यसपछि पठाइएका ती मानिसहरू घरतिर फर्के। अनि सेवकलाई निको भइसकेको भेट्टाए।
11 And it came to pass the day after, that he was going to a city called Nain; and many of his disciples were with him, and a great multitude.
त्यसपछि चाँडै येशू नाइन भनिने एउटा सहरमा जानुभयो। उहाँका चेलाहरू र एउटा ठूलो भीड उहाँको साथमा गए।
12 And as he came near the gate of the city, lo! there was carried out dead an only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a great multitude from the city was with her.
उहाँ सहरको ढोकानिर पुग्नुहुँदा एउटा मृत व्यक्तिलाई सहरबाहिर लगिँदैथियो—जो आफ्नी विधवा आमाको एउटै मात्र छोरा थियो। सहरको एउटा ठूलो भीड ती विधवाको साथमा थियो।
13 And when the Lord saw her, he was moved with compassion for her, and said to her, Weep not.
प्रभुले तिनलाई देखेपछि उहाँ तिनीप्रति दयालु हुनुभयो र भन्नुभयो, “नरोऊ।”
14 And he came up, and touched the bier; and they who bore it stood still; and he said, Young man, I say to thee, Rise.
त्यसपछि उहाँले गएर अरथीलाई छुनुभयो; र ती बोक्नेहरू टक्क अडिए। अनि उहाँले भन्नुभयो, “ए जवान, म तिमीलाई भन्दछु, उठ!”
15 And he that was dead sat up and began to speak; and he gave him to his mother.
तब त्यो मृत व्यक्ति उठेर बस्यो; त्यो बोल्न थाल्यो। येशूले त्यसलाई त्यसकी आमाको जिम्मा लगाउनुभयो।
16 And fear seized on all, and they gave glory to God, saying, A great prophet hath risen up among us; and, God hath visited his people.
तिनीहरू सबै भयभीत भएर परमेश्वरलाई प्रशंसा गर्दै भने, “हाम्रा बीचमा एक जना महान् अगमवक्ता प्रकट भएका छन्। परमेश्वर आफ्ना मानिसहरूलाई सहायता गर्न आउनुभएको छ।”
17 And this report about him went forth in all Judaea, and in all the neighboring country.
येशूको विषयमा यो खबर सारा यहूदिया प्रदेश र वरिपरिका सम्पूर्ण इलाकाभरि फैलियो।
18 And the disciples of John told him all these things.
यूहन्नाका चेलाहरूले तिनलाई यी सबै कुराको खबर दिए। तीमध्ये दुई जनालाई बोलाएर,
19 And calling to him two of his disciples, John sent them to the Lord, saying, Art thou he that is to come, or are we to look for another?
तिनले प्रभुकहाँ यसो भनी सोध्न पठाए, “जो आउनेवाला मुक्तिदाता हुनुहुन्थ्यो, के त्यो तपाईं नै हुनुहुन्छ, कि हामी अझै कसैको प्रतीक्षा गरौँ?”
20 And the men came to him and said, John the Baptist hath sent us to thee, saying, Art thou he that is to come, or are we to look for another?
ती मानिसहरू येशूकहाँ आएर भने, “बप्तिस्मा दिने यूहन्नाले हामीलाई तपाईंकहाँ यसो भनी सोध्न पठाएका छन्, ‘जो आउनेवाला मुक्तिदाता हुनुहुन्थ्यो, के त्यो तपाईं नै हुनुहुन्छ, कि हामी अरू कसैको प्रतीक्षा गरौँ?’”
21 In that hour he cured many of diseases, and plagues, and evil spirits, and to many who were blind he gave sight.
ठिक त्यही समयमा येशूले रोगीहरू, बिरामीहरू र दुष्ट आत्मा लागेकाहरूलाई निको पार्नुभयो; र धेरै दृष्टिविहीनहरूलाई दृष्टि दिनुभयो।
22 And he answered and said to them, Go and tell John what ye have seen and heard; that the blind receive sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor good tidings are brought;
त्यसपछि उहाँले ती मानिसहरूलाई जवाफ दिनुभयो, “जाओ, र जे तिमीहरूले देख्यौ र सुन्यौँ, त्यो यूहन्नालाई बताओ: दृष्टिविहीनहरूले दृष्टि पाउँछन्, लङ्गडाहरू हिँड्छन्, कुष्ठरोग लागेकाहरू निको हुन्छन्, बहिराहरूले सुन्छन्, मरेकाहरू जीवित पारिन्छन् र गरिबहरूलाई सुसमाचारको घोषणा गराइँदछ।
23 and blessed is he, whoever shall find no occasion of stumbling in me.
त्यो धन्यको हो, जसको विश्वास मबाट हट्दैन।”
24 And when the messengers of John had departed, he began to say to the multitudes concerning John, What have ye gone out into the wilderness to see? the reeds shaken by the wind?
यूहन्नाका मानिसहरू गएपछि येशूले भीडलाई यूहन्नाको विषयमा भन्न लाग्नुभयो: “तिमीहरू उजाडस्थानमा के हेर्न गयौ? के हावाले हल्लाएको निगालोलाई?
25 But what have ye gone out to see? a man clothed in soft raiment? Lo! they who wear gorgeous apparel, and live luxuriously, are in kings' palaces.
यदि होइन भने तिमीहरू के हेर्न गयौ त? के महङ्गो लुगा लगाएको मानिसलाई हेर्न? होइन, महङ्गो लुगा लगाउनेहरू र विलासितामा रहनेहरू त दरबारमा हुन्छन्।
26 But what have ye gone out to see? A prophet? Yea, I say to you, and more than a prophet.
तर तिमीहरू के हेर्नलाई गयौ त? के अगमवक्तालाई? हो, म तिमीहरूलाई भन्दछु, एक अगमवक्ताभन्दा पनि महान्लाई।
27 This is he of whom it is written, “Lo! I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.”
यिनी तिनी नै हुन्, जसको विषयमा यसरी लेखिएको छ: “‘म मेरो दूतलाई तिम्रो अगि-अगि पठाउनेछु, जसले तिम्रो बाटो तयार पार्नेछन्।’
28 I say to you, Among those born of women there is no greater prophet than John; but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
म तिमीहरूलाई भन्दछु, स्त्रीहरूबाट जन्मनेहरूमा कोही पनि बप्तिस्मा दिने यूहन्नाभन्दा महान् छैन; तापनि परमेश्वरको राज्यमा सानोभन्दा सानो पनि तिनीभन्दा महान् हुन्छ।”
29 And all the people when they heard him, and the publicans, acknowledged God as righteous by being baptized with the baptism of John.
(सबै मानिसहरू, कर उठाउनेहरूसमेत, सबै जनाले येशूको यो वचन सुनेर परमेश्वरको मार्ग ठिक छ भनी स्वीकार गरे; किनकि तिनीहरूले यूहन्नाद्वारा बप्तिस्मा पाएका थिए।
30 But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the purpose of God toward themselves, not being baptized by him.
तर फरिसीहरू र व्यवस्थाका विद्वान्हरूले परमेश्वरको अभिप्रायलाई अस्वीकार गरे; किनकि तिनीहरूले यूहन्नाद्वारा बप्तिस्मा पाएका थिएनन्।)
31 To what then shall I compare the men of this generation, and what are they like?
येशूले भन्नुभयो, “अब यस पुस्ताका मानिसहरूलाई म कोसँग तुलना गरूँ? तिनीहरू केजस्ता छन्?
32 They are like children sitting in the market-place, and calling one to another, saying, We piped to you, and ye did not dance; we sung a dirge, and ye did not weep.
तिनीहरू त बजारमा बसेर एक-अर्कालाई यसो भन्ने बालकहरूजस्ता छन्: “‘हामीले तिमीहरूका लागि बाँसुरी बजायौँ, तर तिमीहरू नाचेनौ, हामीले शोकको गीत गायौँ, तर तिमीहरू रोएनौ।’
33 For John the Baptist hath come not eating bread, nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a demon.
जब बप्तिस्मा दिने यूहन्ना आए, न तिनले रोटी खान्थे, न त दाखमद्य नै पिउँथे। तिमीहरूले ‘तिनलाई भूत लागेको छ’ भनी भन्दछौ।
34 The Son of man hath come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold, a glutton and a wine-bibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
मानिसको पुत्र खाँदै र पिउँदै आयो, र तिमीहरू भन्छौ, ‘हेर, यो घिचुवा र पियक्कड, र कर उठाउनेहरू र पापीहरूको मित्र!’
35 But wisdom is acknowledged by all her children.
तर बुद्धि ठिक हो भन्ने कुरा उसको सबै सन्तानले नै प्रमाणित गर्छन्।”
36 And one of the Pharisees asked him to eat with him; and he went into the Pharisee's house, and reclined at the table.
एक जना फरिसीले येशूलाई आफूसँग भोजनका लागि निम्तो दिए। उहाँ ती फरिसीको घरमा गएर खान बस्नुभयो।
37 And lo! a woman who was in the city, a sinner, learning that he was at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster-bottle of ointment,
जब त्यस सहरमा पापमय जीवन बिताइरहेकी एउटी स्त्रीले येशू ती फरिसीको घरमा भोजनमा बस्नुभएको छ भन्ने सुनी, तब सिङ्गमरमरको एउटा भाँडोमा अत्तर लिएर ऊ त्यहाँ आई।
38 and standing behind at his feet, weeping, began to wet his feet with tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
अनि उहाँको पछिल्तिरबाट उहाँका पाउनिर उभिएर रुँदै उसले उहाँका पाउ आफ्नो आँसुले भिजाउन थाली। त्यसपछि उसले आफ्नै कपालले उहाँका पाउहरू पुछी। अनि चुम्बन गर्दै ती पाउहरूमा अत्तर घसी।
39 And the Pharisee who had invited him, when he saw this, said within himself, This man, if he were a prophet, would know who, and what sort of woman, this is that toucheth him; for she is a sinner.
उहाँलाई निम्तो दिने फरिसीले यो देखेर मनमनै भने, “यदि यिनी अगमवक्ता हुँदाहुन् त यिनलाई कसले छुँदैछ, र यो कस्ती चरित्रकी स्त्री हो भनी थाहा पाउनेथिए; किनकि यो त पापी स्त्री हो।”
40 And Jesus answering said to him, Simon, I have somewhat to say to thee. And he saith, Teacher, say on.
येशूले तिनलाई जवाफ दिनुभयो, “सिमोन, मैले तिमीलाई केही कुरा भन्नु छ।” तिनले भने, “गुरुज्यू, भन्नुहोस्।”
41 A certain money-lender had two debtors; one owed five hundred denaries, and the other fifty.
“एउटा साहूबाट दुई जनाले ऋण लिएका थिए: एक जनाले पाँच सय र अर्कोले पचास दिनार।
42 When they had nothing to pay, he freely remitted the debt of both. Which of them, now, will love him the most?
तिनीहरू कसैसँग ऋण तिर्नलाई केही पनि थिएन; त्यसैले तिनले ती दुवै जनाका ऋण माफी गरिदिए। अब लौ भन, ती दुईमध्ये कुन चाहिँले तिनलाई बढी प्रेम गर्ला?”
43 Simon answering said, He, I suppose, to whom he remitted the most. And he said to him, Thou hast judged rightly.
सिमोनले जवाफ दिए, “मेरो विचारमा बढी ऋण माफी पाउनेले।” येशूले भन्नुभयो, “तिमीले ठिक विचार गर्यौ।”
44 And turning to the woman, he said to Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered thy house, no water didst thou give me for my feet; but she wet my feet with tears, and wiped them with her hair.
तब त्यस स्त्रीतिर फर्केर उहाँले सिमोनलाई भन्नुभयो, “यस स्त्रीलाई देख्छौ? म तिम्रो घरमा आएँ। तिमीले मलाई पाउ धुने पानी दिएनौ। तर यसले त आफ्नो आँसुले मेरा पाउ भिजाएर आफ्नै केशले पुछेकी छ।
45 No kiss didst thou give me; but she, from the time I came in, did not cease to kiss my feet.
तिमीले मलाई चुम्बन गरेनौ; तर यस स्त्रीले त म घरभित्र आएदेखि मेरा पाउहरूमा चुम्बन गर्न छोडेकी छैन।
46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint; but she anointed my feet with costly ointment.
तिमीले मेरो शिरमा तेल घसिदिएनौ, तर यसले त मेरा पाउहरूमा अत्तर नै खन्याएकी छे।
47 Wherefore, I say to thee, her many sins have been forgiven; for she loved much; but he to whom little is forgiven loveth little.
त्यसकारण म तिमीलाई भन्दछु, यसका धेरै पापहरू क्षमा भएका छन्; किनकि यसले बढी प्रेम देखाएकी छे। तर जसलाई थोरै मात्र क्षमा गरिन्छ, त्यसले थोरै नै प्रेम गर्दछ।”
48 And he said to her, Thy sins have been forgiven.
त्यसपछि येशूले त्यस स्त्रीलाई भन्नुभयो, “तिम्रा पापहरू क्षमा भएका छन्।”
49 And those who were at table with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that even forgiveth sins?
तब अरू पाहुनाहरूले आपसमा भन्न लागे, “पाप पनि क्षमा दिने यिनी को हुन्?”
50 But he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
येशूले त्यस स्त्रीलाई भन्नुभयो, “तिम्रो विश्वासले तिमीलाई बचाएको छ; अब शान्तिसाथ जाऊ!”
