< Luke 7 >

1 When he had ended all his discourse in the hearing of the people, he entered Capernaum.
Kuzwa Jesu hamana zonse zabali kuwamba bantu nibazuwile, nakenjila mwaKapenauma.
2 And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick, and about to die.
Linu muyenzi wachisole abena muhikana yabali kusunwa hahulu kwali, mi abali kulwala ni kusaka kufwa.
3 And having heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, and besought him to come and save his servant.
Muyenzi wachisole nanga zuwa za Jesu, natumina kwali bakulwana ba Majuda, kumukumbila kuti eze njamuhozeze muhikana wakwe.
4 And they came to Jesus, and besought him earnestly, saying, He is worthy that thou shouldst do this for him;
Habati chibasika kwa Jesu, ni bamukumbila chakukakanina, ni bati, “Uyelele kuti umutendele bulyo,
5 for he loveth our nation, and himself built the synagogue for us.
mukuti usaka chisi chetu, imi njabatuzakili masinagoge etu.”
6 And Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying, Lord, trouble not thyself; for I am not worthy that thou shouldst come under my roof;
Chobulyo Jesu nazwila habusu munzila yakwe nabo. Hati chotumbatumba henzuvo, muyezi wachisole abatumini balikani bakwe kukamuwambila kuti, Simwine, usiye ulikatazi, kakuli kaniyelele kuti iwe winjile munzuvo yangu.
7 on which account I did not think myself worthy to come to thee; but command with a word, and let my servant be healed.
Chelyo ibaka kanilihindi kuti niyelele kwiza kwako, kono uwambe bulyo inzwi mi muhikanangu kahole.
8 For even I am a man set under authority, having soldiers under me; and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
Mukuti ime name ni muntu wina mwikonde lamulao, ni masole ni bena mwikonde lyangu. Niwambila umwina, 'Yende', mi uyenda, imi kuumwi, 'Wiize', mi wiiza, imi kumuhikanangu, 'Tende ichi', mi uchitenda.”
9 And Jesus hearing this, wondered at him; and turning round said to the multitude that followed him, I say to you, Not even in Israel have I found such faith.
Imi Jesu hazuwa bulyo, namukomukwa, mi nasandukila kuchisi chibamuichilile nati, “Nimicho kuti, mane nangati mwaIsilaele kananibeni kuwanika itumelo ina bulyo.”
10 And they who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well.
Imi linu bana babatumitwe habakabola kunzuvo, nibeza kuwana kuti muhikana chaba nenza.
11 And it came to pass the day after, that he was going to a city called Nain; and many of his disciples were with him, and a great multitude.
Izo hazimana kutendahala, Jesu abayendi kwitolopo isupwa Naine, mi barutwana bakwe ni chisi ni bayenda naye.
12 And as he came near the gate of the city, lo! there was carried out dead an only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a great multitude from the city was with her.
Habali kutumbatumba hamenjililo etolopo, mi hamulole, muntu yofwile abahinditwe, mwana wamuswisu umwina bulyo wanyina (yabafwamini), mi chisi chingi chizwa mwitolopo chibena naye.
13 And when the Lord saw her, he was moved with compassion for her, and said to her, Weep not.
Imi Simwine hamubona, abamufwili maswe inse, imi abawambi kwali nati, “Sanzi ulili.”
14 And he came up, and touched the bier; and they who bore it stood still; and he said, Young man, I say to thee, Rise.
Kuzwaho nichaya kwateni ni kukakwata kuzisamu hababahindile chitumbi, imi babachihindite nibazimana. Nichati, “Murombwana, nikucho kuti, buke.”
15 And he that was dead sat up and began to speak; and he gave him to his mother.
Yofwile nekala ni kutanga kuwamba, mi Jesu namutambika kubanyina.
16 And fear seized on all, and they gave glory to God, saying, A great prophet hath risen up among us; and, God hath visited his people.
Linu insabo ni chiyabawila bonse, imi chibazwira habusu kubabaza Ireeza, nibati, “Mupolofita yomaniniza ababuswa mukati ketu,” mi “Ireeza abaloli hewulu labantu bakwe.”
17 And this report about him went forth in all Judaea, and in all the neighboring country.
Iyi indaba ya Jesu ibahasani mwaJudea yonse ni zikiliti zonse zibambene nanyo.
18 And the disciples of John told him all these things.
Barutwana ba Johani babamuwambili izi zintu zonse.
19 And calling to him two of his disciples, John sent them to the Lord, saying, Art thou he that is to come, or are we to look for another?
Kuzwaho Johani nasupa bobele babarutwna bakwe ni kubatumina kwaSimwine nibakati, “Kana nguwe yoswanela kwiza, nandi tuswanela kulola zumwi?”
20 And the men came to him and said, John the Baptist hath sent us to thee, saying, Art thou he that is to come, or are we to look for another?
Heti chibasika hafwihi ni Jesu, bakwame nibati, “Johani Mukolobezi wakatutuma kwako zetu kuti, 'kana nguwe yokezite, nandi tuswanela kulola zumwi?”'
21 In that hour he cured many of diseases, and plagues, and evil spirits, and to many who were blind he gave sight.
Mweyo inako Jesu abahozi bantu bangi mumalwalila abo ni mumasukuluko abo ni mwihuho imbilala, imi ni kubahofu bangi ababahi kubona.
22 And he answered and said to them, Go and tell John what ye have seen and heard; that the blind receive sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor good tidings are brought;
Jesu nabetaba nabacho, “Heti chimwamana kuyenda musipili wenu, mukabihe kwa Johani chimubaboni ni kuzuwa. Bantu babahofu babahewa kubona, ziyanga zibatangi kuyenda, bachisenda babanjolozwa, basusu chibasuwa, bantu bafwile bababuswa ni kuhala, mi bahumanehi bawambilwa indava indotu.
23 and blessed is he, whoever shall find no occasion of stumbling in me.
Muntu yasasiyi kuzumina kwangu chebaka lazitendantu zangu utohonolofezwe.”
24 And when the messengers of John had departed, he began to say to the multitudes concerning John, What have ye gone out into the wilderness to see? the reeds shaken by the wind?
Kumasule abatumwa ba Johani heti chibayenda, Jesu natanga kuwambila zisi kaza Johani. “Chinzi chobayendi kukabona mwihalaupa? Luhe lunyanganyiswa luhuho.
25 But what have ye gone out to see? a man clothed in soft raiment? Lo! they who wear gorgeous apparel, and live luxuriously, are in kings' palaces.
Linu chinzi chobayendi kukabona? Mukwame yozabele zizabalo zinolonolo? Lole, bazabala zizabalo zimaniniza ni bahala mumbombolelwa bena muzibaka zibasimwine.
26 But what have ye gone out to see? A prophet? Yea, I say to you, and more than a prophet.
Linu chinzi chobayendi kukabona? Mupolofita na? Eee, niwamba kwenu, ni kuhitilila mupolofita.
27 This is he of whom it is written, “Lo! I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.”
Uzu njiyena uzo zakwe ziñoletwe, 'Hamulole, nitumina mutuminwa wangu mubusu bwako, Yeti nalukise inzila yako noseni kusika.'
28 I say to you, Among those born of women there is no greater prophet than John; but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
Niwamba kwenu, mukati kababahwizumukwa kumwanakazi kakwina mukando kuhita Johani. Nihakubabulyo umwina yomaniniza kubunini mupuso ya Ireeza mukando kumuhita.”
29 And all the people when they heard him, and the publicans, acknowledged God as righteous by being baptized with the baptism of John.
Bantu bonse habazuwa ichi, kuhindilila batelisa, bababonisi kushiyama kwa Ireeza, chakukolobezwa chekolobezo ya Johani.
30 But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the purpose of God toward themselves, not being baptized by him.
Linu Bafalisi ni baluti babamaninizi bamulao wa chiJuda babakani zamulero weze Ireeza kuamana navo, mukuti kana babakolobezwa kwa Johani.
31 To what then shall I compare the men of this generation, and what are they like?
“Kuchinzi, linu, kuniwola kubambanya bantu bounu murahi? Bakola sina chizi?
32 They are like children sitting in the market-place, and calling one to another, saying, We piped to you, and ye did not dance; we sung a dirge, and ye did not weep.
Bakola sina bahwile bakwete bazanina henkanza, bekala ni kulinsupa ni bati, “Tubamilizizi impeta, kono kanamubazani. Tubamizimbili izimbo zenjinjo, mi kana mubasilisi.'
33 For John the Baptist hath come not eating bread, nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a demon.
Mukuti Johani Mukolobezi abezi nasaali inkonko ni kusanywa iwaine, muwamba kuti, 'Wina idimona.'
34 The Son of man hath come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold, a glutton and a wine-bibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
Mwana Muntu abezi nalya ni kunywa, imi muti, “Mulole, nji shazilyo ni chidakwa, mulikani wabatelisa ni batendi bazive!'
35 But wisdom is acknowledged by all her children.
Kono butali buzumininwe ni bana bakwe bonse.”
36 And one of the Pharisees asked him to eat with him; and he went into the Pharisee's house, and reclined at the table.
Lyahanu umwina wa Bafalisi na mema Jesu kukalya naye. Linu Jesu hamana kwinjila munzuvo ya Mufalisi, nekala hetafule kulya.
37 And lo! a woman who was in the city, a sinner, learning that he was at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster-bottle of ointment,
Mi hamulole, kubena mwanakazi mumuleneñi, yabali mutendi wachive. Hazuwa kuti Jesu wina munzuvo ya Mufalisi hetafule, abaleti ijaki ye alabbasitera mwina ioili inunka nenza.
38 and standing behind at his feet, weeping, began to wet his feet with tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
Nazimene kumasule akwe hembali ni matende akwe, nalila, natanga kubombisa matende akwe ni zisonzi zakwe, imi nazisinda ni insuki zamutwi wakwe mi nachuchuna matende akwe ni kwasinga ni oili inuka nenza.
39 And the Pharisee who had invited him, when he saw this, said within himself, This man, if he were a prophet, would know who, and what sort of woman, this is that toucheth him; for she is a sinner.
Mufalisi yabamemete Jesu habona bulyo, nahupula munkulo yakwe, nati, kambe uzu mukwame mupolofita, hanu neziba kuti njeni ni kuti mwanakazi wamufuta nzi yomukwete, mukuti mutendi wachive.”
40 And Jesus answering said to him, Simon, I have somewhat to say to thee. And he saith, Teacher, say on.
Jesu namwitaba nati, “Simoni, nina chinisaka kuwamba kwako.” Nati, “Chiwambe, Muruti!”
41 A certain money-lender had two debtors; one owed five hundred denaries, and the other fifty.
Jesu nati, “Mukolotisi zumwi wamasheleñi abena bakoloti bobele. Umwina nakolota ipondo zichita myanda imana iyanza, imi zumwi niyaba makumi amana iyanza.
42 When they had nothing to pay, he freely remitted the debt of both. Which of them, now, will love him the most?
Imi habakangwa kumuliha, nabaswalela bonse. Cheyo inzila, njeni kubali yeti amusake chakumaniniza?”
43 Simon answering said, He, I suppose, to whom he remitted the most. And he said to him, Thou hast judged rightly.
Simoni abamwitabi nati, “Nihupula kuti njozuna yabaswalelwa kukando.” Jesu namuti, “Waatula nenza.”
44 And turning to the woman, he said to Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered thy house, no water didst thou give me for my feet; but she wet my feet with tears, and wiped them with her hair.
Jesu abasandukili kumwanakazi ni kuwambila Simoni, “Ubwene uzu mwanakazi. Nibenjili munzuvo yako. Kana ubanihi menzi amatende angu, kono iye wabombisa matende angu ni zinsonzi zakwe ni kuzisinda ni insuki zakwe.
45 No kiss didst thou give me; but she, from the time I came in, did not cease to kiss my feet.
Iwe kana ubanichuchuni, kono iye kuzwa henako yinitanga kwiiza kasiite kuchuchuna matende angu.
46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint; but she anointed my feet with costly ointment.
Kana ubetili ioili hamutwi wangu, kono iye abetili matende angu ni ioili inunka bulotu.
47 Wherefore, I say to thee, her many sins have been forgiven; for she loved much; but he to whom little is forgiven loveth little.
Chobulyo niti kwako, zive zakwe, zibali zingi, chizaswalelwa ¬ mukuti watondeza kusuna kukando. Kono iye yoswalelwa halikene, usuna halikene.
48 And he said to her, Thy sins have been forgiven.
Linu abati kwali, “Zive zako zaswalelwa.”
49 And those who were at table with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that even forgiveth sins?
Babekele hamwina nibatanga kuambola mukati kabo, “Njeni uzu yoti uwola nanga kuswalela zive?”
50 But he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
Kuzwaho Jesu nichati kumwanakazi. “Itumelo yako yakuhaza. Yende chekozo.”
