Luke 7
1 When he had ended all his discourse in the hearing of the people, he entered Capernaum.
Nachdem er aber alle diese Reden vollendet hatte vor dem zuhörenden Volk, ging er hinein nach Kapernaum.
2 And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick, and about to die.
Und eines Hauptmanns Knecht, der ihm wert war, lag krank, und war am Sterben.
3 And having heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, and besought him to come and save his servant.
Da er aber von Jesus hörte, sandte er zu ihm Älteste der Juden, und bat ihn, daß er komme, und seinem Knechte helfe.
4 And they came to Jesus, and besought him earnestly, saying, He is worthy that thou shouldst do this for him;
Als sie aber zu Jesus kamen, ermahnten sie ihn mit Fleiß, und sprachen: Er ist es wert, daß du ihm das erzeigst;
5 for he loveth our nation, and himself built the synagogue for us.
Denn er liebt unser Volk, und die Synagoge hat er uns erbaut.
6 And Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying, Lord, trouble not thyself; for I am not worthy that thou shouldst come under my roof;
Jesus aber ging mit ihnen hin. Da er aber schon nicht mehr weit von dem Hause weg war, sandte der Hauptmann Freunde zu ihm, und ließ ihm sagen: Herr, bemühe dich nicht; ich bin nicht wert, daß du unter mein Dach kommst;
7 on which account I did not think myself worthy to come to thee; but command with a word, and let my servant be healed.
Darum habe ich mich auch selbst nicht würdig geachtet, zu dir zu kommen, sondern sprich mit einem Wort, und mein Knecht wird geheilt werden.
8 For even I am a man set under authority, having soldiers under me; and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
Denn auch ich bin ein von Höheren abhängiger Mensch, und doch habe ich Soldaten unter mir; und sage ich diesem: Gehe hin, so geht er; und einem andern: Komm, so kommt er; und meinem Knecht: tue das, so tut er´s.
9 And Jesus hearing this, wondered at him; and turning round said to the multitude that followed him, I say to you, Not even in Israel have I found such faith.
Als aber Jesus das hörte, verwunderte er sich über ihn, und wandte sich um zu dem Volkshaufen, der ihm nachfolgte, und sprach: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: nicht einmal in Israel habe ich solchen Glauben gefunden.
10 And they who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well.
Und die gesandt waren, kehrten zurück in das Haus, und fanden den kranken Knecht gesund.
11 And it came to pass the day after, that he was going to a city called Nain; and many of his disciples were with him, and a great multitude.
Und es geschah am folgenden Tag, daß er in eine Stadt zog, genannt Main; und es zogen mit ihm viele seiner Jünger und ein großer Volkshaufe.
12 And as he came near the gate of the city, lo! there was carried out dead an only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a great multitude from the city was with her.
Als er sich aber dem Stadttor näherte, siehe, da ward ein Verstorbener herausgetragen, ein eingeborener Sohn seiner Mutter, und sie war Witwe; und ein großer Volkshaufe von der Stadt war bei ihr.
13 And when the Lord saw her, he was moved with compassion for her, and said to her, Weep not.
Und als der Herr sie sah, erbarmte er sich über sie, und sprach zu ihr: Weine nicht!
14 And he came up, and touched the bier; and they who bore it stood still; and he said, Young man, I say to thee, Rise.
Und ging hin, und berührte den Sarg. Die Träger aber standen stille. Und er sprach: Jüngling, ich sage dir, steh auf!
15 And he that was dead sat up and began to speak; and he gave him to his mother.
Und der Tote setzte sich in die Höhe, und fing an zu reden. Und er gab ihn seiner Mutter.
16 And fear seized on all, and they gave glory to God, saying, A great prophet hath risen up among us; and, God hath visited his people.
Und Furcht ergriff alle, und sie priesen Gott, und sprachen: Ein großer Prophet ist unter uns aufgestanden, und Gott hat sein Volk angesehen.
17 And this report about him went forth in all Judaea, and in all the neighboring country.
Und dies Wort von ihm ging aus in ganz Judäa und in die ganze Umgegend.
18 And the disciples of John told him all these things.
Und es berichteten dem Johannes seine Jünger von all dem.
19 And calling to him two of his disciples, John sent them to the Lord, saying, Art thou he that is to come, or are we to look for another?
Und Johannes rief zwei seiner Jünger zu sich, und sandte sie zum Herrn, und sprach: Bist du, der da kommt, oder erwarten wir einen andern?
20 And the men came to him and said, John the Baptist hath sent us to thee, saying, Art thou he that is to come, or are we to look for another?
Da aber die Männer zu ihm kamen, sprachen sie: Johannes der Täufer hat uns zu dir gesandt, und sagt: Bist du, der da kommt, oder erwarten wir einen andern?
21 In that hour he cured many of diseases, and plagues, and evil spirits, and to many who were blind he gave sight.
In jener Stunde aber heilte er viele von Krankheiten und Plagen und bösen Geistern, und vielen Blinden schenkte er das Gesicht.
22 And he answered and said to them, Go and tell John what ye have seen and heard; that the blind receive sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor good tidings are brought;
Und Jesus antwortete, und sprach zu ihnen: Gehet hin, und verkündiget Johannes, was ihr gesehen und gehört habt, daß Blinde sehen, Lahme wandeln, Aussätzige gereinigt werden, Taube hören, Tote auferweckt werden, Armen die frohe Botschaft verkündigt wird.
23 and blessed is he, whoever shall find no occasion of stumbling in me.
Und selig ist, wer nicht an mir irre wird.
24 And when the messengers of John had departed, he began to say to the multitudes concerning John, What have ye gone out into the wilderness to see? the reeds shaken by the wind?
Als aber die Boten des Johannes fortgegangen waren, fing er an zu den Volkshaufen von Johannes zu sagen: Was seid ihr hinausgegangen in die Wüste zu sehen? Ein Rohr vom Winde bewegt (Nein.)
25 But what have ye gone out to see? a man clothed in soft raiment? Lo! they who wear gorgeous apparel, and live luxuriously, are in kings' palaces.
Sondern was seid ihr hinausgegangen zu sehen? Einen Menschen mit weichlichen Kleidern angetan? Siehe, die in herrlicher Kleidung und Üppigkeit Lebenden sind in den Königspalästen.
26 But what have ye gone out to see? A prophet? Yea, I say to you, and more than a prophet.
Sondern was seid ihr hinausgegangen zu sehen? Einen Propheten? Ja, ich sage euch, der auch mehr ist, als ein Prophet.
27 This is he of whom it is written, “Lo! I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.”
Dieser ist es, von dem geschrieben steht: Siehe, ich sende meinen Engel vor dir her, welcher deinen Weg bereiten wird vor Dir her.
28 I say to you, Among those born of women there is no greater prophet than John; but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
Denn ich sage euch: Unter denen, die von Weibern geboren sind, ist keiner ein größerer Prophet, als Johannes der Täufer; aber der Kleinste in der Gottesherrschaft ist größer, als er.
29 And all the people when they heard him, and the publicans, acknowledged God as righteous by being baptized with the baptism of John.
Und alles Volk, das ihn hörte, und die Zöllner gaben Gott recht, indem sie sich taufen ließen mit der Taufe Johannis,
30 But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the purpose of God toward themselves, not being baptized by him.
Aber die Pharisäer und Gesetzeslehrer vereitelten den Rat Gottes für sie, indem sie sich nicht von ihm taufen ließen.
31 To what then shall I compare the men of this generation, and what are they like?
Wem nun soll ich die Menschen dieses Geschlechts vergleichen, und wem sind sie gleich?
32 They are like children sitting in the market-place, and calling one to another, saying, We piped to you, and ye did not dance; we sung a dirge, and ye did not weep.
Gleich sind sie den Kindern, die am Markte sitzen und rufen einander zu, und sagen: Wir haben euch gepfiffen, und ihr habt nicht getanzt; wir haben eine Klage angestimmt, und ihr habt nicht geweint.
33 For John the Baptist hath come not eating bread, nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a demon.
Denn Johannes der Täufer ist gekommen, und aß weder Brot, noch trank er Wein, und ihr sagtet: Er hat einen Dämon.
34 The Son of man hath come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold, a glutton and a wine-bibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
Der Menschensohn ist gekommen, und ißt und trinkt, und ihr saget: Siehe, ein Fresser und Weinsäufer, der Zöllner- und Sünderfreund!
35 But wisdom is acknowledged by all her children.
Doch die Weisheit ist gerechtfertigt worden von allen ihren Kindern.
36 And one of the Pharisees asked him to eat with him; and he went into the Pharisee's house, and reclined at the table.
Es bat ihn aber einer der Pharisäer, daß er mit ihm äße; und er ging hinein in das Haus des Pharisäers, und lag zu Tische.
37 And lo! a woman who was in the city, a sinner, learning that he was at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster-bottle of ointment,
Und siehe, ein Weib in der Stadt, die eine Sünderin war, erfuhr, daß er in dem Hause des Pharisäers zu Tische lag, und brachte ein Alabasterfläschchen mit Salbe,
38 and standing behind at his feet, weeping, began to wet his feet with tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
Und stund hinter zu seinen Füßen weinend, und fing an, ihm die Füße zu netzen mit ihren Tränen, und trocknete sie mit den Haaren ihres Hauptes, und küßte seine Füße, und salbte sie mit der Salbe.
39 And the Pharisee who had invited him, when he saw this, said within himself, This man, if he were a prophet, would know who, and what sort of woman, this is that toucheth him; for she is a sinner.
Als das der Pharisäer, der ihn eingeladen hatte, sah, sprach er bei sich selbst, und sagte: Wenn dieser ein Prophet wäre, so wüßte er, wer und was für ein Weib das ist, die ihn anrührt, denn sie ist eine Sünderin.
40 And Jesus answering said to him, Simon, I have somewhat to say to thee. And he saith, Teacher, say on.
Und Jesus antwortete, und sprach zu ihm: Simon, ich habe dir etwas zu sagen. Er aber sprach: Lehrer, sage an!
41 A certain money-lender had two debtors; one owed five hundred denaries, and the other fifty.
Ein Gläubiger hatte zwei Schuldner; der eine schuldete ihm fünfhundert Denare, der andere fünfzig.
42 When they had nothing to pay, he freely remitted the debt of both. Which of them, now, will love him the most?
Da sie aber nicht hatten zu bezahlen, so schenkte er es beiden. Wer nun von ihnen, sprich, wird ihn mehr lieben?
43 Simon answering said, He, I suppose, to whom he remitted the most. And he said to him, Thou hast judged rightly.
Simon aber antwortete, und sprach: Ich vermute der, dem er am meisten geschenkt hat. Er sprach zu ihm: du hast recht geurteilt.
44 And turning to the woman, he said to Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered thy house, no water didst thou give me for my feet; but she wet my feet with tears, and wiped them with her hair.
Und sich gegen das Weib wendend, sprach er zu Simon: Siehst du dies Weib? Ich bin in dein Haus gekommen, und Wasser auf meine Füße hast du mir nicht gegeben; diese aber hat mit Tränen meine Füße benetzt, und mit ihren Haaren abgetrocknet.
45 No kiss didst thou give me; but she, from the time I came in, did not cease to kiss my feet.
Einen Kuß hast du mir nicht gegeben; diese aber, seit ich hereingekommen bin, hat nicht abgelassen meine Füße zu küssen.
46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint; but she anointed my feet with costly ointment.
Mit Öl hast du mein Haupt nicht gesalbt; diese aber hat mit Salbe meine Füße gesalbt.
47 Wherefore, I say to thee, her many sins have been forgiven; for she loved much; but he to whom little is forgiven loveth little.
Deshalb sage ich dir: Vergeben sind ihre vielen Sünden, denn sie hat viel geliebt; wem aber wenig vergeben ist, der liebt wenig.
48 And he said to her, Thy sins have been forgiven.
Und er sprach zu ihr: Vergeben sind deine Sünden.
49 And those who were at table with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that even forgiveth sins?
Da fingen die Tischgenossen an bei sich zu sagen: Wer ist dieser, der auch Sünden vergibt?
50 But he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
Er aber sprach zu dem Weibe: Dein Glaube hat dir geholfen; gehe hin im Frieden!
