Luke 5
1 And it came to pass, as the multitude was pressing upon him and hearing the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret,
Halk, Ginnesar Gölü'nün kıyısında duran İsa'nın çevresini sarmış, Tanrı'nın sözünü dinliyordu.
2 and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone out of them, and had washed the nets.
İsa, gölün kıyısında iki tekne gördü. Balıkçılar teknelerinden inmiş ağlarını yıkıyorlardı.
3 And going into one of the boats, which was Simon's, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And sitting down in the boat, he taught the multitudes.
İki tekneden Simun'a ait olanına binen İsa, ona kıyıdan biraz açılmasını rica etti. Sonra oturdu, teknenin içinden halka öğretmeye devam etti.
4 And when he had done speaking, he said to Simon, Put out into deep water, and let down your nets for a draught.
Konuşmasını bitirince Simun'a, “Derin sulara açılın, balık tutmak için ağlarınızı atın” dedi.
5 And Simon answering said, Master, we toiled all night, and took nothing; but at thy word I will let down the nets.
Simun şu karşılığı verdi: “Efendimiz, bütün gece çabaladık, hiçbir şey tutamadık. Yine de senin sözün üzerine ağları atacağım.”
6 And having done this, they inclosed great multitude of fishes; and their nets began to break.
Bunu yapınca öyle çok balık yakaladılar ki, ağları yırtılmaya başladı.
7 And they beckoned to their partners in the other boat, to come and help them; and they came, and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.
Öbür teknedeki ortaklarına işaret ederek gelip yardım etmelerini istediler. Onlar da geldiler ve her iki tekneyi balıkla doldurdular; tekneler neredeyse batıyordu.
8 And Simon Peter seeing it fell down at the knees of Jesus, saying, Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.
Simun Petrus bunu görünce, “Ya Rab, benden uzak dur, ben günahlı bir adamım” diyerek İsa'nın dizlerine kapandı.
9 For he and all that were with him were amazed at the draught of fishes, which they had taken;
Kendisi ve yanındakiler, tutmuş oldukları balıkların çokluğuna şaşıp kalmışlardı.
10 and so were also James and John the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon And Jesus said to Simon, Fear not; henceforth thou shalt catch men.
Simun'un ortakları olan Zebedi oğulları Yakup'la Yuhanna'yı da aynı şaşkınlık almıştı. İsa Simun'a, “Korkma” dedi, “Bundan böyle balık yerine insan tutacaksın.”
11 And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything, and followed him.
Sonra onlar tekneleri karaya çektiler ve her şeyi bırakıp İsa'nın ardından gittiler.
12 And it came to pass, when he was in one of the cities, lo! a man full of leprosy; and seeing Jesus, he fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst cleanse me.
İsa kentlerden birindeyken, her yanını cüzam kaplamış bir adamla karşılaştı. Adam İsa'yı görünce yüzüstü yere kapanıp yalvardı: “Ya Rab, istersen beni temiz kılabilirsin” dedi.
13 And he put forth his hand and touched him, saying, I will; be thou cleansed. And immediately the leprosy left him.
İsa elini uzatıp adama dokundu, “İsterim, temiz ol!” dedi. Adam anında cüzamdan kurtuldu.
14 And he charged him to tell no one: but go, and show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
İsa ona, bundan kimseye söz etmemesini buyurdu. “Git, kâhine görün ve cüzamdan temizlendiğini herkese kanıtlamak için Musa'nın buyurduğu sunuları sun” dedi.
15 But so much the more went abroad the report concerning him; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed of their infirmities.
Ne var ki, İsa'yla ilgili haber daha da çok yayıldı. Kalabalık halk toplulukları İsa'yı dinlemek ve hastalıklarından kurtulmak amacıyla akın akın geliyordu.
16 But he was wont to withdraw to desert places, and pray.
Kendisi ise ıssız yerlere çekilip dua ediyordu.
17 And it came to pass on a certain day, that he was teaching, and there were sitting by Pharisees and teachers of the law, who had come from every town of Galilee and Judea, and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present that he might heal.
Bir gün İsa öğretiyordu. Celile'nin ve Yahudiye'nin bütün köylerinden ve Yeruşalim'den gelen Ferisiler'le Kutsal Yasa öğretmenleri O'nun çevresinde oturuyorlardı. İsa, Rab'bin gücü sayesinde hastaları iyileştiriyordu.
18 And lo! men brought on a bed a man that was palsied; and they endeavored to bring him in, and to set him before him.
O sırada birkaç kişi, yatak üzerinde taşıdıkları felçli bir adamı evden içeri sokup İsa'nın önüne koymaya çalışıyordu.
19 And not finding any way to bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the house-top, and let him down through the tiling with the couch into the midst before Jesus.
Kalabalıktan ötürü onu içeri sokacak yol bulamayınca dama çıktılar, kiremitleri kaldırıp adamı yatakla birlikte orta yere, İsa'nın önüne indirdiler.
20 And seeing their faith, he said, Man, thy sins have been forgiven thee.
İsa onların imanını görünce, “Dostum, günahların bağışlandı” dedi.
21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this that speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?
Din bilginleriyle Ferisiler, “Tanrı'ya küfreden bu adam kim? Tanrı'dan başka kim günahları bağışlayabilir?” diye düşünmeye başladılar.
22 But Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, answered and said to them, What are ye thinking in your hearts?
Akıllarından geçenleri bilen İsa onlara şöyle seslendi: “Aklınızdan neden böyle şeyler geçiriyorsunuz?
23 Which is easier? to say, Thy sins have been forgiven thee? or to say, Arise, and walk?
Hangisi daha kolay, ‘Günahların bağışlandı’ demek mi, yoksa ‘Kalk, yürü’ demek mi?
24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins, —he said to the palsied man, —I say to thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go to thy house.
Ne var ki, İnsanoğlu'nun yeryüzünde günahları bağışlama yetkisine sahip olduğunu bilesiniz diye...” Sonra felçli adama, “Sana söylüyorum, kalk, yatağını toplayıp evine git!” dedi.
25 And he immediately rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and went away to his house, giving glory to God.
Adam onların gözü önünde hemen ayağa kalktı, üzerinde yattığı yatağı topladı ve Tanrı'yı yücelterek evine gitti.
26 And amazement seized them all, and they gave glory to God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to-day.
Herkesi bir şaşkınlık almıştı. Tanrı'yı yüceltiyor, büyük korku içinde, “Bugün şaşılacak işler gördük!” diyorlardı.
27 And after these things he went out, and saw a publican named Levi, sitting at the custom-house; and he said to him, Follow me.
Bu olaydan sonra İsa dışarı çıktı, vergi toplama yerinde oturan Levi adında bir vergi görevlisini gördü. Adama, “Ardımdan gel” dedi.
28 And leaving everything, he arose and followed him.
O da kalktı, her şeyi bırakıp İsa'nın ardından gitti.
29 And Levi made a great feast for him at his house, and there was a great company of publicans and others, who were reclining at table with them.
Sonra Levi, evinde İsa'nın onuruna büyük bir şölen verdi. Vergi görevlileriyle başka kişilerden oluşan büyük bir kalabalık onlarla birlikte yemeğe oturmuştu.
30 And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with the publicans and sinners?
Ferisiler'le onların din bilginleri söylenmeye başladılar. İsa'nın öğrencilerine, “Siz neden vergi görevlileri ve günahkârlarla birlikte yiyip içiyorsunuz?” dediler.
31 And Jesus answering said to them, They who are well do not need a physician, but they who are sick.
İsa onlara şu karşılığı verdi: “Sağlıklı olanların değil, hastaların hekime ihtiyacı var.
32 I have not come to call righteous men, but sinners to repentance.
Ben doğru kişileri değil, günahkârları tövbeye çağırmaya geldim.”
33 And they said to him, The disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise those of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink.
Onlar İsa'ya, “Yahya'nın öğrencileri sık sık oruç tutup dua ediyorlar, Ferisiler'in öğrencileri de öyle. Seninkiler ise yiyip içiyor” dediler.
34 But Jesus said to them, Can ye make the companions of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them?
İsa şöyle karşılık verdi: “Güvey aralarında olduğu sürece davetlilere oruç tutturabilir misiniz?
35 But the days will come—and when the bridegroom is taken from them, then will they fast in those days.
Ama güveyin aralarından alınacağı günler gelecek, onlar işte o zaman, o günler oruç tutacaklar.”
36 And he spoke also a parable to them: No one taketh a patch from a new garment and putteth it upon an old one; for then both the new garment would be rent, and the patch from the new garment would not match with the old.
İsa onlara şu benzetmeyi de anlattı: “Hiç kimse yeni giysiden bir parça yırtıp eski giysiyi yamamaz. Yoksa hem yeni giysi yırtılır, hem de o giysiden koparılan yama eskisine uymaz.
37 And no one putteth new wine into old skins; for the new wine would burst the skins, and would itself run out, and the skins would be spoilt.
Hiç kimse yeni şarabı eski tulumlara doldurmaz. Yoksa yeni şarap tulumları patlatır; hem şarap dökülür, hem de tulumlar mahvolur.
38 But new wine must be put into new skins.
Yeni şarabı yeni tulumlara doldurmak gerek.
39 And no one, having drunk old wine, desireth new; for he saith, The old is good.
Üstelik hiç kimse eski şarabı içtikten sonra yenisini istemez. ‘Eskisi güzel’ der.”
