Luke 5
1 And it came to pass, as the multitude was pressing upon him and hearing the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret,
১এক দিন যখন লোকেরা তাঁর চারিদিকে প্রচণ্ড ভিড় করে ঈশ্বরের বাক্য শুনছিল, তখন তিনি গিনেষরৎ হ্রদের কূলে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিলেন,
2 and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone out of them, and had washed the nets.
২আর তিনি দেখতে পেলেন, হ্রদের কাছে দুটি নৌকা আছে, কিন্তু জেলেরা নৌকা থেকে নেমে জাল ধুচ্ছিল।
3 And going into one of the boats, which was Simon's, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And sitting down in the boat, he taught the multitudes.
৩তাতে তিনি ঐ দুটি নৌকার মধ্যে একটিতে, শিমোনের নৌকাতে, উঠে ডাঙা থেকে একটু দূরে যেতে তাঁকে অনুরোধ করলেন; আর তিনি নৌকায় বসে লোকদের উপদেশ দিতে লাগলেন।
4 And when he had done speaking, he said to Simon, Put out into deep water, and let down your nets for a draught.
৪পরে কথা শেষ করে তিনি শিমোনকে বললেন, “তুমি গভীর জলে নৌকা নিয়ে চল, আর মাছ ধরবার জন্য তোমাদের জাল ফেল।”
5 And Simon answering said, Master, we toiled all night, and took nothing; but at thy word I will let down the nets.
৫শিমোন এর উত্তরে বললেন, “হে মহাশয়, আমরা সারা রাত পরিশ্রম করেও কিছু পাইনি, কিন্তু আপনার কথায় আমি জাল ফেলব।”
6 And having done this, they inclosed great multitude of fishes; and their nets began to break.
৬তাঁরা সেমত করায়, তখন মাছের বড় ঝাঁক ধরা পড়ল ও তাঁদের জাল ছিঁড়তে লাগল;
7 And they beckoned to their partners in the other boat, to come and help them; and they came, and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.
৭তাতে তাঁদের যে অংশীদারেরা অন্য নৌকায় ছিলেন, তাঁদের তাঁরা সংকেত দিলেন, যেন তাঁরা এসে তাঁদের সঙ্গে সাহায্য করেন। কারণ তাঁরা দুটি নৌকা মাছে এমন পূর্ণ করলেন যে নৌকা দুটি ডুবে যাচ্ছিল।
8 And Simon Peter seeing it fell down at the knees of Jesus, saying, Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.
৮এসব দেখে শিমোন পিতর যীশুর হাঁটুর উপরে পড়ে বললেন, “আমার কাছ থেকে চলে যান, কারণ, হে প্রভু, আমি পাপী।”
9 For he and all that were with him were amazed at the draught of fishes, which they had taken;
৯কারণ জালে এত মাছ ধরা পড়েছিল বলে তিনি ও যাঁরা তাঁর সঙ্গে ছিলেন, সবাই প্রচণ্ড আশ্চর্য্য হয়েছিলেন;
10 and so were also James and John the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon And Jesus said to Simon, Fear not; henceforth thou shalt catch men.
১০আর সিবদিয়ের পুত্র যাকোব ও যোহন, যাঁরা শিমোনের অংশীদার ছিলেন, তাঁরাও তেমনই আশ্চর্য্য হয়েছিলেন। তখন যীশু শিমোনকে বললেন, “ভয় কর না, এখন থেকে তুমি মানুষ ধরবে।”
11 And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything, and followed him.
১১পরে তাঁরা নৌকা ডাঙায় এনে সমস্ত ত্যাগ করে তাঁর অনুগামী হলেন।
12 And it came to pass, when he was in one of the cities, lo! a man full of leprosy; and seeing Jesus, he fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst cleanse me.
১২একবার তিনি কোনও এক শহরে ছিলেন এবং সেখানে এক জনের সমস্ত শরীরে কুষ্ঠ রোগ ছিল; সে যীশুকে দেখে উপুড় হয়ে পড়ে অনুরোধ করে বলল, “প্রভু, যদি আপনার ইচ্ছা হয়, আমাকে শুদ্ধ করতে পারেন।”
13 And he put forth his hand and touched him, saying, I will; be thou cleansed. And immediately the leprosy left him.
১৩তখন তিনি হাত বাড়িয়ে তাকে স্পর্শ করলেন, তিনি বললেন, আমার ইচ্ছা, তুমি শুদ্ধ হয়ে যাও; আর তখনই তার কুষ্ঠ ভালো হয়ে গেল।
14 And he charged him to tell no one: but go, and show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
১৪পরে তিনি তাকে নির্দেশ দিয়ে বললেন, “এই কথা কাউকেও কিছু বলো না; কিন্তু যাজকের কাছে গিয়ে নিজেকে দেখাও এবং লোকদের কাছে তোমার বিশুদ্ধ হওয়ার জন্য মোশির দেওয়া আদেশ অনুযায়ী নৈবেদ্য উৎসর্গ কর, তাদের কাছে সাক্ষ্য হওয়ার জন্য যে তুমি সুস্থ হয়েছ।”
15 But so much the more went abroad the report concerning him; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed of their infirmities.
১৫কিন্তু তাঁর বিষয়ে নানা খবর আরও বেশি করে ছড়াতে লাগল; আর কথা শুনবার জন্য এবং নিজেদের রোগ থেকে সুস্থ হবার জন্য অনেক লোক তাঁর কাছে আসতে লাগল।
16 But he was wont to withdraw to desert places, and pray.
১৬কিন্তু তিনি প্রায়ই কোন না কোন নির্জন স্থানে নিজেকে সরিয়ে নিয়ে যেতেন ও প্রার্থনা করতেন।
17 And it came to pass on a certain day, that he was teaching, and there were sitting by Pharisees and teachers of the law, who had come from every town of Galilee and Judea, and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present that he might heal.
১৭আর এক দিন তিনি উপদেশ দিচ্ছিলেন এবং ফরীশীরা ও ব্যবস্থা গুরুরা কাছেই বসেছিল; তারা গালীল ও যিহুদিয়ার সমস্ত গ্রাম এবং যিরুশালেম থেকে এসেছিল; আর তাঁর সঙ্গে প্রভুর শক্তি উপস্থিত ছিল, যেন তিনি সুস্থ করেন।
18 And lo! men brought on a bed a man that was palsied; and they endeavored to bring him in, and to set him before him.
১৮আর দেখ, কিছু লোক মাদুরে করে একজন পক্ষাঘাত রুগীকে আনল, তারা তাকে ভিতরে তাঁর কাছে নিয়ে যেতে চেষ্টা করল।
19 And not finding any way to bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the house-top, and let him down through the tiling with the couch into the midst before Jesus.
১৯কিন্তু ভিড়ের জন্য ভিতরে যাবার রাস্তা না পাওয়াতে তারা ঘরের ছাদে উঠল এবং টালি সরিয়ে তার মধ্য দিয়ে মাদুর শুদ্ধ তাকে মাঝখানে যীশুর কাছে নামিয়ে দিল।
20 And seeing their faith, he said, Man, thy sins have been forgiven thee.
২০তাদের বিশ্বাস দেখে তিনি বললেন, “হে বন্ধু, তোমার সমস্ত পাপ ক্ষমা হল।”
21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this that speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?
২১তখন ধর্মশিক্ষকরা ও ফরীশীরা এই তর্ক করতে লাগল, এ কে যে ঈশ্বরনিন্দা করছে? কেবল ঈশ্বর ছাড়া আর কে পাপ ক্ষমা করতে পারে?
22 But Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, answered and said to them, What are ye thinking in your hearts?
২২যীশু তাদের চিন্তা বুঝতে পেরে তাদের বললেন, “তোমরা মনে মনে কেন তর্ক করছ?”
23 Which is easier? to say, Thy sins have been forgiven thee? or to say, Arise, and walk?
২৩কোনটা বলা সহজ, তোমার পাপ ক্ষমা হল বলা, না তুমি উঠে হেঁটে বেড়াও বলা?
24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins, —he said to the palsied man, —I say to thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go to thy house.
২৪কিন্তু পৃথিবীতে পাপ ক্ষমা করার ক্ষমতা মনুষ্যপুত্রের আছে, এটা যেন তোমরা জানতে পার, এই জন্য তিনি সেই পক্ষঘাতী রুগীকে বললেন, তোমাকে বলছি, ওঠ, তোমার বিছানা তুলে নিয়ে তোমার ঘরে যাও।
25 And he immediately rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and went away to his house, giving glory to God.
২৫তাতে সে তখনই তাদের সামনে উঠে দাঁড়াল এবং নিজের বিছানা তুলে নিয়ে ঈশ্বরের গৌরব করতে করতে নিজের বাড়ি চলে গেল।
26 And amazement seized them all, and they gave glory to God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to-day.
২৬তখন সবাই খুবই আশ্চর্য্য হল, আর তারা ঈশ্বরের গৌরব করতে লাগল এবং ভয়ে পরিপূর্ণ হয়ে বলতে লাগল, আজ আমরা অতিআশ্চর্য্য ব্যাপার দেখলাম।
27 And after these things he went out, and saw a publican named Levi, sitting at the custom-house; and he said to him, Follow me.
২৭এই ঘটনার পরে সেখান থেকে তিনি চলে গেলেন এবং দেখলেন, লেবি নামে একজন কর আদায়কারী কর জমা নেওয়ার জায়গায় বসে আছেন; তিনি তাঁকে বললেন, “আমার সঙ্গে এস।”
28 And leaving everything, he arose and followed him.
২৮তাতে তিনি সমস্ত কিছু ত্যাগ করে উঠে তাঁর সঙ্গে চলে গেলেন।
29 And Levi made a great feast for him at his house, and there was a great company of publicans and others, who were reclining at table with them.
২৯পরে লেবি নিজের বাড়িতে তাঁর জন্য সুন্দর এক ভোজের আয়োজন করলেন এবং অনেক কর আদায়কারীরাও আরো অন্য লোকেরাও তাঁদের সঙ্গে ভোজনে বসেছিল।
30 And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with the publicans and sinners?
৩০তখন ফরীশীরা ও ব্যবস্থার শিক্ষকেরা তাঁর শিষ্যদের কাছে অভিযোগ করে বলতে লাগল, “তোমরা কেন কর আদায়কারী ও অন্যান্য পাপী লোকেদের সঙ্গে ভোজন পান করছ?”
31 And Jesus answering said to them, They who are well do not need a physician, but they who are sick.
৩১যীশু এর উত্তরে তাদের বললেন, “সুস্থ লোকদের ডাক্তার দেখাবার দরকার নেই, কিন্তু অসুস্থদের প্রয়োজন আছে।
32 I have not come to call righteous men, but sinners to repentance.
৩২আমি ধার্ম্মিকদের নয়, কিন্তু পাপীদেরকেই ডাকতে এসেছি, যেন তারা মন ফেরায়।”
33 And they said to him, The disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise those of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink.
৩৩পরে তারা তাঁকে বলল, “যোহনের শিষ্যরা প্রায়ই উপবাস করে ও প্রার্থনা করে, ফরীশীরাও সেরকম করে; কিন্তু তোমার শিষ্যেরা ভোজন পান করে থাকে।”
34 But Jesus said to them, Can ye make the companions of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them?
৩৪যীশু তাদের বললেন, “বর সঙ্গে থাকতে তোমরা কি বাসর ঘরের লোকেরা উপবাস করতে পার?
35 But the days will come—and when the bridegroom is taken from them, then will they fast in those days.
৩৫কিন্তু দিন আসবে; আর যখন তাদের কাছ থেকে বরকে নিয়ে নেওয়া হবে, তখন তারা উপবাস করবে।”
36 And he spoke also a parable to them: No one taketh a patch from a new garment and putteth it upon an old one; for then both the new garment would be rent, and the patch from the new garment would not match with the old.
৩৬আরও তিনি তাদের একটি উপমা দিলেন, তা এমন, কেউ নতুন কাপড় থেকে টুকরো ছিঁড়ে পুরনো কাপড়ে লাগায় না; সেটা করলে নতুনটাও ছিঁড়তে হয় এবং পুরানো কাপড়েও সেই নতুন কাপড়ের তাপ্পি মিলবে না।
37 And no one putteth new wine into old skins; for the new wine would burst the skins, and would itself run out, and the skins would be spoilt.
৩৭আর লোকে পুরাতন চামড়ার থলিতে নতুন আঙুরের রস রাখে না; রাখলে চামড়ার থলিগুলি ফেটে যায়, তাতে দ্রাক্ষারস পড়ে যায়, চামড়ার থলিগুলিও নষ্ট হয়।
38 But new wine must be put into new skins.
৩৮কিন্তু লোকে নূতন চামড়ার থলিতে টাটকা দ্রাক্ষারস রাখে।
39 And no one, having drunk old wine, desireth new; for he saith, The old is good.
৩৯আর পুরনো আঙ্গুরের রস পান করার পর কেউ টাটকা চায় না, কারণ সে বলে, পুরনোই ভাল।
