Luke 4
1 And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led in the Spirit in the wilderness
൧യേശു സ്നാനത്തിന് ശേഷം പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവ് നിറഞ്ഞവനായി യോർദ്ദാൻ വിട്ടു മടങ്ങി; ആത്മാവ് അവനെ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്ക് നടത്തി; എന്നാൽ പിശാച് അവനെ നാല്പതു ദിവസം പരീക്ഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
2 forty days, tempted by the Devil. And he ate nothing in those days; and when they were ended, he was hungry.
൨ആ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ അവൻ ഒന്നും ഭക്ഷിച്ചില്ല; അവ കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അവനു വിശന്നു.
3 And the Devil said to him, If thou art the Son of God, command this stone that it become a loaf of bread.
൩അപ്പോൾ പിശാച് അവനോട്: “നീ ദൈവപുത്രൻ എങ്കിൽ ഈ കല്ലിനോട് അപ്പമായിത്തീരുവാൻ കല്പിക്ക“എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4 And Jesus answered him, It is written, “Not on bread alone shall man live.”
൪യേശു അവനോട്: മനുഷ്യൻ അപ്പംകൊണ്ട് മാത്രമല്ല ജീവിക്കുന്നത് എന്നു തിരുവചനത്തിൽഎഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
5 And taking him up, he showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
൫പിന്നെ പിശാച് അവനെ ഉയർന്ന ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തേയ്ക്ക് കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി ലോകത്തിലെ സകല രാജ്യങ്ങളെയും ഒരു നിമിഷം കൊണ്ടു അവനെ കാണിച്ചു:
6 And the Devil said to him, All this power will I give thee, and their glory; because to me it hath been delivered, and I give it to whomever I will.
൬“ഈ അധികാരം ഒക്കെയും അതിന്‍റെ മഹത്വവും നിനക്കു തരാം; അത് എന്നെ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്ക് താത്പര്യം ഉള്ളവർക്ക് ഞാൻ ഇതു കൊടുക്കുന്നു.
7 If thou then wilt worship me, it shall all be thine.
൭നീ എന്നെ നമസ്കരിച്ച് ആരാധിച്ചാൽ അതെല്ലാം നിനക്കു തരാം“എന്നു അവനോട് പറഞ്ഞു.
8 And Jesus answering said to him, It is written, “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”
൮യേശു അവനോട്: നിന്‍റെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു അവനെ മാത്രമേ ആരാധിക്കാവൂ എന്നു തിരുവചനത്തിൽഎഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence;
൯പിന്നെ അവൻ യേശുവിനെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്ക് കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ട് പോയി ദൈവാലയത്തിന്‍റെ മുകളിൽ ഏറ്റവും ഉയരം കൂടിയ സ്ഥാനത്ത് നിർത്തി അവനോട്: “നീ ദൈവപുത്രൻ എങ്കിൽ ഇവിടെ നിന്നു താഴോട്ടു ചാടുക.
10 for it is written, “He will give his angels charge concerning thee, to guard thee;
൧൦“നിന്നെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുവാൻ അവൻ തന്‍റെ ദൂതന്മാരോട് നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ച് കല്പിക്കുകയും
11 and in their hands they will bear thee up, that thou mayst not dash thy foot against a stone.”
൧൧നിന്‍റെ കാൽ കല്ലിനോട് തട്ടാതെ അവർ നിന്നെ കയ്യിൽ താങ്ങിക്കൊള്ളുകയും ചെയ്യും” എന്നു തിരുവചനത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
12 And Jesus answering said to him, It hath been said, “Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God.”
൧൨യേശു അവനോട്: നിന്‍റെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവിനെ പരീക്ഷിക്കരുത് എന്നും തിരുവെഴുത്തിൽഎഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
13 And when he had brought every temptation to an end, the Devil departed from him for a season.
൧൩അങ്ങനെ പിശാച് സകല പരീക്ഷയും പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയ ശേഷം കുറെ സമയത്തേക്ക് അവനെ വിട്ടുമാറി.
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee; and there went out a report concerning him through all the surrounding country
൧൪യേശു ആത്മാവിന്‍റെ ശക്തിയോടെ ഗലീലയ്ക്കു തിരികെ പോയി; അവനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വാർത്ത ചുറ്റുമുള്ള നാട്ടിൽ ഒക്കെയും പ്രസിദ്ധമായി.
15 And he taught in their synagogues, honored by all.
൧൫അവൻ അവരുടെ പള്ളികളിൽ ഉപദേശിച്ചു; എല്ലാവരും അവനെ പ്രശംസിച്ചു.
16 And he came to Nazara, where he had been brought up, and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath-day; and stood up to read.
൧൬അങ്ങനെ അവൻ വളർന്ന നസറെത്തിൽ വന്നു. ശബ്ബത്തിൽ തന്‍റെ പതിവുപോലെ പള്ളിയിൽ ചെന്നു വായിക്കുവാൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിന്നു.
17 And there was delivered to him the book of the prophet Isaiah; and unrolling the book, he found the place where it was written,
൧൭യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്‍റെ പുസ്തകച്ചുരുൾ അവനു കൊടുത്തു; അവൻ പുസ്തകച്ചുരുൾ തുറന്നു:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he anointed me to preach glad tidings to the poor; he hath sent me to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty the oppressed,
൧൮ദരിദ്രരോട് സുവിശേഷം അറിയിക്കുവാൻ കർത്താവ് എന്നെ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കയാൽ അവന്‍റെ ആത്മാവ് എന്‍റെ മേൽ ഉണ്ട്; തടവുകാ‍ർക്ക് വിടുതലും, അന്ധർക്ക് കാഴ്ചയും നൽകുമെന്ന് പ്രസംഗിക്കുവാനും, മർദ്ദിതരെ വിടുവിച്ചയയ്ക്കുവാനും,
19 to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
൧൯ജനങ്ങളോട് കാരുണ്യം കാട്ടുവാൻ കർത്താവിന്‍റെ വർഷം എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പ്രസംഗിക്കുവാനും എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലം കണ്ടു.
20 And rolling up the book, he gave it back to the attendant, and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed upon him.
൨൦പിന്നെ അവൻ പുസ്തകച്ചുരുൾ മടക്കി ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരന് തിരികെ കൊടുത്തിട്ട് ഇരുന്നു; പള്ളിയിലുള്ള എല്ലാവരും യേശുവിനെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
21 And he began to say to them, To-day hath this scripture been fulfilled in your ears.
൨൧അവൻ അവരോട്: ഇന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ എന്‍റെ വചനം കേൾക്കുന്നത് കൊണ്ടു ഈ തിരുവെഴുത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നത് പോലെ സംഭവിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി.
22 And they all spoke in his praise, and wondered at the words of grace which proceeded from his mouth; and they said, Is not this Joseph's son?
൨൨എല്ലാവരും അവനെ പുകഴ്ത്തി, അവന്‍റെ വായിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട ലാവണ്യ വാക്കുകൾനിമിത്തം ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു; “ഇവൻ യോസേഫിന്‍റെ മകൻ അല്ലയോ?“എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
23 And he said to them, Ye will doubtless say to me this proverb, “Physician, heal thyself;” whatever things we have heard of as having been done in Capernaum, do here too in thy own country.
൨൩യേശു അവരോട്: വൈദ്യാ, നിന്നെത്തന്നെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കുക എന്നുള്ള പഴഞ്ചൊല്ല് പോലെ കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ ചെയ്തത് എല്ലാം ഈ നിന്‍റെ പിതാവിന്‍റെ നഗരത്തിലും ചെയ്ക എന്നും നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോട് പറയും നിശ്ചയം.
24 And he said, Truly do I say to you, No prophet is acceptable in his own country.
൨൪ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെയും തന്‍റെ പിതൃനഗരത്തിൽ സ്വീകരിക്കുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ട് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
25 But I tell you in truth, that there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land;
൨൫ഏലീയാവിന്‍റെ കാലത്ത് മൂന്നു ആണ്ടും ആറു മാസവും മഴയില്ലാതെ ദേശത്തു എങ്ങും മഹാക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേലിൽ പല വിധവമാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ യഥാർത്ഥമായി നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
26 and yet to none of them was Elijah sent, but to Sarepta in Sidonia, to a woman that was a widow.
൨൬എന്നാൽ സീദോനിലെ സരെപ്തയിൽ ഉള്ള ഒരു വിധവയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കല്ലാതെ അവരിൽ ആരുടെയും അടുക്കലേക്ക് ഏലിയാവിനെ അയച്ചില്ല.
27 And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet; and not one of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian.
൨൭അതുപോലെ എലീശാപ്രവാചകൻ്റെ കാലത്ത് യിസ്രായേലിൽ പല കുഷ്ഠരോഗികൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. സിറിയക്കാരനായ നയമാൻ അല്ലാതെ വേറെ ആരും ശുദ്ധമായില്ല എന്നും അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
28 And all in the synagogue, when they heard this, were filled with wrath.
൨൮പള്ളിയിലുള്ളവർ ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു എല്ലാവരും കോപിച്ച് എഴുന്നേറ്റ്
29 And they rose up, and forced him out of the city and took him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, to cast him down headlong;
൨൯അവനെ പട്ടണത്തിൽനിന്നു വെളിയിലാക്കി അവരുടെ പട്ടണം പണിതിരുന്ന മലയുടെ അറ്റത്ത് കൊണ്ടുപോയി തലകീഴായി തള്ളിയിടാം എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചു.
30 but he, passing through the midst of them, went away.
൩൦യേശുവോ അവരുടെ നടുവിൽ കൂടി കടന്നുപോയി.
31 And he came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the sabbath.
൩൧പിന്നീട് അവൻ ഗലീലയിലെ ഒരു പട്ടണമായ കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ ചെന്നു. ഒരു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അവരെ ഉപദേശിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
32 And they were astonished at his teaching; for his word was with authority.
൩൨അവൻ വചനം അധികാരത്തോടെ ഉപദേശിക്കുകയാൽ അവർ വിസ്മയിച്ചു.
33 And in the synagogue there was a man having a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,
൩൩അവിടെ പള്ളിയിൽ അശുദ്ധഭൂതം ബാധിച്ച ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
34 Ha! what have we to do with thee, Jesus of Nazareth? Thou hast come to destroy us. I know who thou art, the Holy One of God.
൩൪“അവൻ നസറായനായ യേശുവേ, നീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാര്യത്തിൽ ഇടപെടുന്നത് എന്തിനാണ്? ഞങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിക്കുവാനാണോ നീ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്? നീ ആർ എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്‍റെ പരിശുദ്ധൻ തന്നെ“എന്നു ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു.
35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent, and come out of him. And the demon threw him down in the midst, and came out of him, having done him no hurt.
൩൫മിണ്ടരുത്; അവനെ വിട്ടുപോക എന്നു യേശു അതിനെ ശാസിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഭൂതം അവനെ നടുവിൽ തള്ളിയിട്ട് ഒരു ഉപദ്രവവും വരുത്താതെ വിട്ടുപോയി.
36 And all were amazed; and they spoke with one another, saying, What kind of word is this, that with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out?
൩൬എല്ലാവരും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ട്: ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ എത്ര അത്ഭുതകരം ആണ്. അവൻ അധികാരത്തോടും ശക്തിയോടുംകൂടെ അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കളോട് കല്പിക്കുന്നു; അവ ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നു എന്നു തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
37 And there went out a report concerning him into every place of the surrounding country.
൩൭അവനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വാർത്ത നാടെങ്ങും പരന്നു.
38 And he arose and went from the synagogue into the house of Simon. And Simon's wife's mother was seized with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
൩൮അവൻ പള്ളിയിൽനിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങി ശിമോന്‍റെ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു. ശിമോന്‍റെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മ കഠിനമായ പനി കൊണ്ടു ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിയിരിക്കുക ആയിരുന്നു. അവർ അവളെ സഹായിക്കേണം എന്നു യേശുവിനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
39 And standing over her, he rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and waited on them.
൩൯അവൻ അവളെ കുനിഞ്ഞുനോക്കി, പനി വിട്ടു പോകാൻ ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു; അത് അവളെ വിട്ടുമാറി; അവൾ ഉടനെ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് അവനു ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്തു.
40 And when the sun was setting, all who had any sick with divers diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
൪൦സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിക്കുമ്പോൾ പലതരം അസുഖം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നവരെ എല്ലാം അവന്‍റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവൻ അവരുടെ മേൽ കൈവച്ചു അവരെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കി.
41 And demons also came out from many, crying out, and saying, Thou art the Son of God. And he rebuked them, and did not suffer them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
൪൧പലരിൽനിന്നും ഭൂതങ്ങൾ; നീ ദൈവപുത്രനായ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് ഇറങ്ങി പോയി; താൻ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു അവ അറിയുകകൊണ്ട് മിണ്ടുവാൻ അവൻ സമ്മതിക്കാതെ അവയെ ശാസിച്ചു.
42 And when it was day, he went out, and betook himself to a desert place; and the multitudes went in search of him; and they came to him, and would have prevented him from leaving them.
൪൨പ്രഭാതമായപ്പോൾ അവൻ ആരും ഇല്ലാത്ത ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തേയ്ക്ക് പോയി. പുരുഷാരം അവനെ അന്വേഷിച്ച് അവന്‍റെ അരികത്തുവന്ന് തങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു പോകാതിരിക്കുവാൻ അവനെ തടഞ്ഞു.
43 But he said to them, I must publish the good tidings of the kingdom of God to the other cities also; because for this I was sent forth.
൪൩യേശു അവരോട്: ഞാൻ മറ്റുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും ദൈവരാജ്യം സുവിശേഷിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; ഇതിനു വേണ്ടിയാണ് എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
44 And he continued to preach in the synagogues of Galilee.
൪൪അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ഗലീലയിലെ പള്ളികളിൽ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.
