< Luke 4 >
1 And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led in the Spirit in the wilderness
Awo Yesu, ng’ajjudde Mwoyo Mutukuvu, n’avaayo ku mugga Yoludaani, Omwoyo n’amutwala mu ddungu,
2 forty days, tempted by the Devil. And he ate nothing in those days; and when they were ended, he was hungry.
n’akemebwa Setaani okumala ennaku amakumi ana. Ebbanga eryo lyonna yalimala nga talidde ku mmere, bwe lyaggwaako enjala n’emuluma.
3 And the Devil said to him, If thou art the Son of God, command this stone that it become a loaf of bread.
Setaani n’agamba Yesu nti, “Obanga oli, Mwana wa Katonda, gamba ejjinja lino lifuuke emmere.”
4 And Jesus answered him, It is written, “Not on bread alone shall man live.”
Naye Yesu n’amuddamu nti, “Kyawandiikibwa nti, ‘Omuntu taabenga mulamu lwa mmere yokka.’”
5 And taking him up, he showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
Awo Setaani n’amulinnyisa waggulu, mu kaseera katono n’amulaga obwakabaka bwonna obw’omu nsi.
6 And the Devil said to him, All this power will I give thee, and their glory; because to me it hath been delivered, and I give it to whomever I will.
Setaani n’amugamba nti, “Nzija kukuwa obuyinza ku obwo bwonna n’ekitiibwa kyabwo, kubanga bwonna bwa mpeebwa era nnyinza okubuwa omuntu yenna gwe njagala.
7 If thou then wilt worship me, it shall all be thine.
Bw’onoofukamira n’onsinza byonna ebyo bijja kuba bibyo.”
8 And Jesus answering said to him, It is written, “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”
Naye Yesu n’addamu nti, “Kyawandiikibwa nti, ‘Osinzanga Mukama Katonda wo, era gw’oweerezanga yekka.’”
9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence;
Ate Setaani n’amutwala mu Yerusaalemi, n’amulinnyisa waggulu ku kasolya ka Yeekaalu awasingira ddala obutumbiivu, n’amugamba nti, “Obanga oli Mwana wa Katonda, buuka weesuule wansi.
10 for it is written, “He will give his angels charge concerning thee, to guard thee;
Kubanga kyawandiikibwa nti, “‘Katonda aliragira bamalayika be bakukuume.
11 and in their hands they will bear thee up, that thou mayst not dash thy foot against a stone.”
Era balikuwanirira mu mikono gyabwe, oleme okwerumya nga weekonye ekigere kyo ku jjinja.’”
12 And Jesus answering said to him, It hath been said, “Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God.”
Yesu n’addamu nti, “Kyawandiikibwa nti, ‘Tokemanga Mukama Katonda wo.’”
13 And when he had brought every temptation to an end, the Devil departed from him for a season.
Awo Setaani bwe yamaliriza okukema Yesu mu buli ngeri yonna, n’amuviira okutuusa ekiseera ekirala.
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee; and there went out a report concerning him through all the surrounding country
Awo Yesu n’akomawo mu Ggaliraaya ng’ajjudde amaanyi aga Mwoyo Mutukuvu, n’ayogerwako mu bitundu byonna ebyetoolodde mu byalo.
15 And he taught in their synagogues, honored by all.
N’ayigirizanga mu makuŋŋaaniro gaabwe, era bonna ne bamutendereza.
16 And he came to Nazara, where he had been brought up, and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath-day; and stood up to read.
Bwe yatuuka e Nazaaleesi, ekibuga mwe yakulira, n’agenda mu kkuŋŋaaniro ku Ssabbiiti, nga bwe yali empisa ye. N’ayimuka okusoma.
17 And there was delivered to him the book of the prophet Isaiah; and unrolling the book, he found the place where it was written,
Ne bamuwa ekitabo kya nnabbi Isaaya, n’abikkula omuzingo gw’empapula n’alaba awagamba nti,
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he anointed me to preach glad tidings to the poor; he hath sent me to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty the oppressed,
“Omwoyo wa Mukama ali ku nze. Anfuseeko amafuta okubuulira abaavu Enjiri. Antumye okubuulira abasibe okuteebwa, n’abazibe b’amaaso okuzibulwa amaaso balabe, n’abanyigirizibwa okufuna eddembe,
19 to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
n’okulangirira ekiseera kya Mukama eky’okulagiramu ekisa kye.”
20 And rolling up the book, he gave it back to the attendant, and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed upon him.
N’azingako omuzingo n’aguddiza omuweereza, n’atuula. Abantu bonna mu kkuŋŋaaniro ne bamusimba amaaso.
21 And he began to say to them, To-day hath this scripture been fulfilled in your ears.
N’atandika okubategeeza nti, “Olwa leero, Ebyawandiikibwa bino bye muwulidde bituukiridde!”
22 And they all spoke in his praise, and wondered at the words of grace which proceeded from his mouth; and they said, Is not this Joseph's son?
Bonna abaaliwo ne bamutenda nga beewuunya ebigambo bye ebyekisa ebyava mu kamwa ke, nga bwe beebuuza nti, “Ono si ye mutabani wa Yusufu?”
23 And he said to them, Ye will doubtless say to me this proverb, “Physician, heal thyself;” whatever things we have heard of as having been done in Capernaum, do here too in thy own country.
Yesu n’abagamba nti, “Ddala ddala muliyinza n’okuŋŋamba mu lugero luno nti, ‘Omusawo, weewonye,’ nga mugamba nti, ‘Buli kye twawulira mu Kaperunawumu, kikolere na wano mu kyalo kyo.’”
24 And he said, Truly do I say to you, No prophet is acceptable in his own country.
Naye n’abagamba nti, “Ddala ddala mbagamba nti, Tewali nnabbi ayanirizibwa mu kyalo ky’ewaabwe!
25 But I tell you in truth, that there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land;
Naye mazima mbagamba nti, waaliwo bannamwandu bangi mu biseera bya nnabbi Eriya, mu Isirayiri enkuba bwe yamala emyaka esatu n’ekitundu nga tetonnya, n’enjala n’egwa mu nsi yonna.
26 and yet to none of them was Elijah sent, but to Sarepta in Sidonia, to a woman that was a widow.
Naye nnabbi Eriya teyatumibwa eri omu ku bannamwandu abo, wabula yatumibwa eri nnamwandu ow’e Zalefaasi mu Sidoni.
27 And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet; and not one of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian.
Ne mu biseera bya nnabbi Erisa waaliwo abagengebangi mu Isirayiri, naye tewali n’omu ku bo eyalongoosebwa okuggyako Naamani Omusuuli.”
28 And all in the synagogue, when they heard this, were filled with wrath.
Bonna abaali mu kuŋŋaaniro ne bakwatibwa obusungu olw’ebigambo ebyo,
29 And they rose up, and forced him out of the city and took him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, to cast him down headlong;
ne basituka, ne bamusindiikiriza okumutuusa ebweru w’ekibuga ku bbangabanga ly’olusozi ekibuga kyabwe kwe kyazimbibwa, bamusindike agwe eri wansi.
30 but he, passing through the midst of them, went away.
Naye n’abayitamu wakati ne yeetambulira.
31 And he came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the sabbath.
Awo Yesu n’alaga e Kaperunawumu, ekibuga eky’e Ggaliraaya n’abayigirizanga ku nnaku eza Ssabbiiti.
32 And they were astonished at his teaching; for his word was with authority.
Ne beewuunya nnyo okuyigiriza kwe. Kubanga yayogeranga nga nnannyini buyinza.
33 And in the synagogue there was a man having a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,
Mu kkuŋŋaaniro, mwalimu omusajja eyaliko ddayimooni n’atandika okuwowoggana nti,
34 Ha! what have we to do with thee, Jesus of Nazareth? Thou hast come to destroy us. I know who thou art, the Holy One of God.
“Woowe! Otulanga ki, ggwe Yesu ow’e Nazaaleesi? Ozze kutuzikiriza? Nze nkumanyi, ggwe mutukuvu wa Katonda.”
35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent, and come out of him. And the demon threw him down in the midst, and came out of him, having done him no hurt.
Yesu n’amuboggolera ng’agamba nti, “Sirika! Muveeko!” Awo dayimooni n’asuula eri omusajja wansi wakati mu bantu, n’amuvaako nga tamulumizza.
36 And all were amazed; and they spoke with one another, saying, What kind of word is this, that with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out?
Buli muntu n’atya nnyo nga bwe beebuuzaganya nti, “Kigambo ki kino? Kubanga alagira n’obuyinza n’amaanyi emyoyo emibi ne giva mu muntu, ekireetera ne dayimooni okumugondera.”
37 And there went out a report concerning him into every place of the surrounding country.
Amawulire agakwata ku Yesu ne gabuna mu kitundu ekyo kyonna ekyetoolodde awo.
38 And he arose and went from the synagogue into the house of Simon. And Simon's wife's mother was seized with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
Awo Yesu bwe yava mu kkuŋŋaaniro, n’alaga mu maka ga Simooni. Yasanga nnyina mukazi wa Simooni omusujja gumuluma nnyo, abantu ne bamwegayiririra ku lulwe.
39 And standing over her, he rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and waited on them.
Yesu n’ayimirira okumpi n’omulwadde we yali, n’alagira omusujja gumuwoneko, amangwago omulwadde n’awona, n’asituka n’abaweereza!
40 And when the sun was setting, all who had any sick with divers diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
Obudde bwe bwali buwungeera, abantu bonna abaalina abalwadde ab’endwadde eza buli ngeri, ne babaleeta eri Yesu, n’abassaako emikono buli omu n’amuwonya.
41 And demons also came out from many, crying out, and saying, Thou art the Son of God. And he rebuked them, and did not suffer them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
Abamu baaliko baddayimooni, Yesu n’abalagira ne bava ku balwadde nga bwe baleekaana nti, “Ggwe Mwana wa Katonda.” Naye kubanga baamumanya nga ye Kristo, n’atabaganya kukyogerako.
42 And when it was day, he went out, and betook himself to a desert place; and the multitudes went in search of him; and they came to him, and would have prevented him from leaving them.
Bwe bwakya Yesu n’alaga mu kifo etali bantu. Ekibiina ky’abantu ne bamunoonya, okutuusa lwe baamulaba ne balaga gy’ali ne bamwegayirira aleme kubavaako.
43 But he said to them, I must publish the good tidings of the kingdom of God to the other cities also; because for this I was sent forth.
Naye n’abaddamu nti, “Kinsaanira okubuulira Enjiri y’obwakabaka bwa Katonda ne mu bifo ebirala kubanga eyo y’ensonga kyenava ntumibwa.”
44 And he continued to preach in the synagogues of Galilee.
Yesu ne yeeyongera okubuulira mu makuŋŋaaniro gaabwe mu Buyudaaya.
