< Luke 4 >
1 And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led in the Spirit in the wilderness
ⲁ̅ⲓⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥϫⲏⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲛⲁ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲁϥⲕⲟⲧϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲓⲟⲣⲇⲁⲛⲏⲥ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲣⲏⲙⲟⲥ
2 forty days, tempted by the Devil. And he ate nothing in those days; and when they were ended, he was hungry.
ⲃ̅ⲛϩⲙⲉ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲡⲉⲓⲣⲁⲍⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲡⲇⲓⲁⲃⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡϥⲟⲩⲉⲙⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩϫⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁϥϩⲕⲟ
3 And the Devil said to him, If thou art the Son of God, command this stone that it become a loaf of bread.
ⲅ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡⲇⲓⲁⲃⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁϫⲓⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲱⲛⲉ ϫⲉ ⲉϥⲉⲣⲟⲉⲓⲕ
4 And Jesus answered him, It is written, “Not on bread alone shall man live.”
ⲇ̅ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ϫⲉ ϥⲥⲏϩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲁⲱⲛϩ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲡⲟⲉⲓⲕ ⲙⲙⲁⲧⲉ
5 And taking him up, he showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
ⲉ̅ⲁϥϫⲓⲧϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲉⲓ ⲁϥⲧⲟⲩⲟϥ ⲉⲙⲙⲛⲧⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲟⲓⲕⲟⲩⲙⲉⲛⲏ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲥⲧⲓⲅⲙⲏ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ
6 And the Devil said to him, All this power will I give thee, and their glory; because to me it hath been delivered, and I give it to whomever I will.
ⲋ̅ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡⲇⲓⲁⲃⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϯϯ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲛⲧⲉⲓⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲉⲩⲉⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲧⲁⲁⲥ ⲛⲁⲉⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ϣⲁⲓⲧⲁⲁⲥ ⲙⲡⲉϯⲟⲩⲁϣϥ
7 If thou then wilt worship me, it shall all be thine.
ⲍ̅ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ϭⲉ ⲉⲕϣⲁⲛⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲙⲡⲁⲙⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲥⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ
8 And Jesus answering said to him, It is written, “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”
ⲏ̅ⲁⲓⲏⲥ ⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲥⲥⲏϩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲕⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲡⲉⲕⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲕⲛⲁϣⲙϣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲟⲩⲁⲁϥ
9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence;
ⲑ̅ⲁϥⲛⲧϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ ⲁϥⲧⲁϩⲟϥ ⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲉϫⲛ ⲡⲧⲛϩ ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϥⲟϭⲕ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ϩⲓϫⲛ ⲡⲉⲓⲙⲁ
10 for it is written, “He will give his angels charge concerning thee, to guard thee;
ⲓ̅ϥⲥⲏϩ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉ ϥⲛⲁϩⲱⲛ ⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧⲕ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ
11 and in their hands they will bear thee up, that thou mayst not dash thy foot against a stone.”
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲥⲉϥⲓⲧⲕ ⲉϫⲛ ⲛⲉⲩϭⲓϫ ⲙⲏⲡⲟⲧⲉ ⲛⲅϫⲱⲣⲡ ⲉⲩⲱⲛⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲕⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ
12 And Jesus answering said to him, It hath been said, “Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God.”
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲓⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩϫⲟⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲕⲡⲉⲓⲣⲁⲍⲉ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲡⲉⲕⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
13 And when he had brought every temptation to an end, the Devil departed from him for a season.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥϫⲉⲕ ⲡⲉⲓⲣⲁⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲡⲇⲓⲁⲃⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲥⲁϩⲱⲱϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϣⲁⲟⲩⲟⲓϣ
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee; and there went out a report concerning him through all the surrounding country
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲕⲟⲧϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ϩⲛ ⲧϭⲟⲙ ⲙⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲉⲧⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲁ ⲁⲡⲥⲟⲓⲧ ⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲉⲣⲓⲭⲱⲣⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧϥ
15 And he taught in their synagogues, honored by all.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉϥϯ ⲥⲃⲱ ⲡⲉ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲩⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲏ ⲉⲣⲉⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ϯ ⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲁϥ
16 And he came to Nazara, where he had been brought up, and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath-day; and stood up to read.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲁⲍⲁⲣⲉⲑ ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲥⲁⲛⲟⲩϣϥ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲡⲉϥⲥⲱⲛⲧ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲏ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲱϣ
17 And there was delivered to him the book of the prophet Isaiah; and unrolling the book, he found the place where it was written,
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⲙⲡϫⲱⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲏⲥⲁⲓⲁⲥ ⲡⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡϫⲱⲱⲙⲉ ⲁϥϩⲉ ⲉⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he anointed me to preach glad tidings to the poor; he hath sent me to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty the oppressed,
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲓ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁϥⲧⲁϩⲥⲧ ⲁϥⲧⲛⲛⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲍⲉ ⲛⲛϩⲏⲕⲉ ⲉⲧⲁϣⲉⲟⲓϣ ⲛⲟⲩⲕⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲁⲓⲭⲙⲁⲗⲱⲧⲟⲥ ⲛⲙⲟⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲃⲃⲗⲗⲉ ⲉϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲟϣϥ ⲛⲟⲩⲕⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
19 to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲉⲧⲁϣⲉⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲙⲡⲉ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉⲧϣⲏⲡ
20 And rolling up the book, he gave it back to the attendant, and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed upon him.
ⲕ̅ⲁϥⲕⲃⲡϫⲱⲱⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲙⲡϩⲩⲡⲏⲣⲉⲧⲏⲥ ⲁϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲃⲃⲁⲗ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧϩⲛⲧⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲏ ϭⲱϣⲧ ⲉⲣⲟϥ
21 And he began to say to them, To-day hath this scripture been fulfilled in your ears.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲁϥⲁⲣⲭⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲧⲉⲓⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲙⲁⲁϫⲉ
22 And they all spoke in his praise, and wondered at the words of grace which proceeded from his mouth; and they said, Is not this Joseph's son?
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲣⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ⲉⲩⲣϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲭⲁⲣⲓⲥ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲣⲱϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲏ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲓⲱⲥⲏⲫ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ
23 And he said to them, Ye will doubtless say to me this proverb, “Physician, heal thyself;” whatever things we have heard of as having been done in Capernaum, do here too in thy own country.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲛⲧⲱⲥ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁϫⲱ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ϫⲉ ⲡⲥⲁⲉⲓⲛ ⲁⲣⲓⲡⲁϩⲣⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲛⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲛ ⲕⲁⲫⲁⲣⲛⲁⲟⲩⲙ ⲁⲣⲓⲥⲟⲩ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲓⲙⲁ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲕϯⲙⲉ
24 And he said, Truly do I say to you, No prophet is acceptable in his own country.
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲙⲙⲛⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲙⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϣⲏⲡ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϥϯⲙⲉ ⲙⲙⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ
25 But I tell you in truth, that there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land;
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲩⲛϩⲁϩ ⲛⲭⲏⲣⲁ ⲡⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲓⲥⲣⲁⲏⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲏⲗⲉⲓⲁⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲧⲡⲉ ϣⲧⲁⲙ ⲛϣⲟⲙⲧⲉ ⲣⲣⲟⲙⲡⲉ ⲛⲙⲥⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲃⲟⲧ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛϩⲉⲃⲱⲱⲛ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲓϫⲙ ⲡⲕⲁϩ ⲧⲏⲣϥ
26 and yet to none of them was Elijah sent, but to Sarepta in Sidonia, to a woman that was a widow.
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϫⲉⲩ ϩⲏⲗⲉⲓⲁⲥ ϣⲁⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲓⲙⲏⲧⲓ ⲉⲥⲁⲣⲉⲡⲧⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲥⲓⲇⲱⲛⲓⲁ ϣⲁⲟⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛⲭⲏⲣⲁ
27 And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet; and not one of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian.
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲩⲛϩⲁϩ ⲉⲩⲥⲟⲃⲁϩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲓⲥⲣⲁⲏⲗ ϩⲓⲉⲗⲓⲥⲥⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲡⲉⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲃⲃⲟ ⲛⲥⲁⲛⲁⲓⲙⲁⲛ ⲡⲥⲩⲣⲟⲥ
28 And all in the synagogue, when they heard this, were filled with wrath.
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩϩ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛϭⲱⲛⲧ ϩⲛ ⲧⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲏ ⲉⲩⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲛⲁⲉⲓ
29 And they rose up, and forced him out of the city and took him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, to cast him down headlong;
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲛⲟϫϥ ⲡⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲡⲟⲗⲉⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲛⲧϥ ϣⲁⲡⲕⲟⲟϩ ⲙⲡⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲩⲡⲟⲗⲉⲓⲥ ⲕⲏⲧ ϩⲓϫⲱϥ ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲛⲟϫϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϫⲟϥⲧⲛ
30 but he, passing through the midst of them, went away.
ⲗ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲩⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ
31 And he came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the sabbath.
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲉⲕⲁⲫⲁⲣⲛⲁⲟⲩⲙ ⲧⲡⲟⲗⲉⲓⲥ ⲛⲧⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϥϯ ⲥⲃⲱ ⲡⲉ ϩⲛ ⲛⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ
32 And they were astonished at his teaching; for his word was with authority.
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲣϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲥⲃⲱ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ ϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲡⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ
33 And in the synagogue there was a man having a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,
ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲟⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲡⲉ ϩⲛ ⲧⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲏ ⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲡⲛⲁ ⲛⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲧⲟⲛ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϫⲓϣⲕⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲥⲙⲏ
34 Ha! what have we to do with thee, Jesus of Nazareth? Thou hast come to destroy us. I know who thou art, the Holy One of God.
ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ϫⲉ ⲁϩⲣⲟⲕ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲛ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲣⲙⲛⲁⲍⲁⲣⲉⲑ ⲁⲕⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲕⲟⲛ ϯⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲕⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲧⲕⲡⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent, and come out of him. And the demon threw him down in the midst, and came out of him, having done him no hurt.
ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲓⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲡⲓⲧⲓⲙⲁ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲱⲙ ⲣⲣⲱⲕ ⲛⲅⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲁϥⲛⲟⲩϫⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲉⲙⲡϥⲃⲃⲗⲁⲡⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ
36 And all were amazed; and they spoke with one another, saying, What kind of word is this, that with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out?
ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ⲁⲩϣⲧⲟⲣⲧⲣ ⲇⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉϫⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲁⲩϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲩⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲓϣⲁϫⲉ ϫⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲙⲟⲩϭⲟⲙ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲛⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲧⲟⲛ ⲥⲉⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
37 And there went out a report concerning him into every place of the surrounding country.
ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲡⲥⲟⲉⲓⲧ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧϥ ϩⲙ ⲙⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲧⲡⲉⲣⲓⲭⲱⲣⲟⲥ
38 And he arose and went from the synagogue into the house of Simon. And Simon's wife's mother was seized with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲏ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲏⲓ ⲛⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲧϣⲱⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲛⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛϩⲙⲟⲙ ϩⲓⲱⲱⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲥⲉⲡⲥⲱⲡϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲧⲥ
39 And standing over her, he rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and waited on them.
ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ⲁϥⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ϩⲓϫⲱⲥ ⲁϥⲉⲡⲓⲧⲓⲙⲁ ⲙⲡⲉϩⲙⲟⲙ ⲁϥⲕⲁⲁⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲥ ⲁⲥⲇⲓⲁⲕⲟⲛⲓ ⲛⲁⲩ
40 And when the sun was setting, all who had any sick with divers diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
ⲙ̅ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲣⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁϩⲱⲧⲡ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲉⲩⲛⲧⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉϥϣⲱⲛⲉ ϩⲛ ϩⲉⲛϣⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲩϣⲟⲃⲉ ⲁⲩⲛⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲗⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ ⲉϫⲙ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲗϭⲟⲟⲩ
41 And demons also came out from many, crying out, and saying, Thou art the Son of God. And he rebuked them, and did not suffer them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲛⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ϩⲁϩ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲩⲁϣⲕⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϥⲁⲓⲡⲓⲧⲓⲙⲁ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲛϥⲕⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲉϣⲁϫⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲩⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ
42 And when it was day, he went out, and betook himself to a desert place; and the multitudes went in search of him; and they came to him, and would have prevented him from leaving them.
ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϩⲧⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲛϫⲁⲓⲉ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲙⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲇⲉ ϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ϣⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲧⲙⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲕⲁⲁⲩ
43 But he said to them, I must publish the good tidings of the kingdom of God to the other cities also; because for this I was sent forth.
ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ϩⲁⲡⲥ ⲉⲧⲣⲁⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲍⲉ ⲛⲛⲕⲉⲡⲟⲗⲉⲓⲥ ⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲧⲛⲛⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲡⲉⲓϩⲱⲃ
44 And he continued to preach in the synagogues of Galilee.
