Luke 3
1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,
௧திபேரியு பேரரசர் அரசாண்ட பதினைந்தாம் வருடத்தில், பொந்தியுபிலாத்து யூதேயா நாட்டிற்கு அதிபதியாகவும், ஏரோது கலிலேயாவிற்கு அதிபதியாகவும், அவன் சகோதரனாகிய பிலிப்பு இத்துரேயா மற்றும் திராகொனித்தி நாட்டிற்கும் அதிபதியாகவும், லிசானியா அபிலேனேக்கு அதிபதியாகவும்,
2 when Annas and Caiaphas were high-priests, the word of God came to John, the son of Zachariah, in the wilderness.
௨அன்னாவும் காய்பாவும் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களாகவும் இருந்தகாலத்தில் வனாந்திரத்திலே சகரியாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவானுக்கு தேவனுடைய வார்த்தை உண்டானது.
3 And he came into all the country about the Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;
௩அப்பொழுது: “கர்த்தருக்கு வழியை ஆயத்தப்படுத்துங்கள், அவருக்குப் பாதைகளைச் செவ்வைப்படுத்துங்கள் என்றும்,
4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths!
௪பள்ளங்களெல்லாம் நிரப்பப்படும், எல்லா மலைகளும் குன்றுகளும் தாழ்த்தப்படும், கோணலானவைகள் நேராகும், கரடானவைகள் சமமாகும் என்றும்,
5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the crooked places shall be made straight, and the rough ways smooth;
௫மாம்சமான எல்லோரும் தேவனுடைய இரட்சிப்பைக் காண்பார்கள் என்றும், வனாந்திரத்திலே கூப்பிடுகிறவனுடைய சத்தம் உண்டாகும்” என்று ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி,
6 and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.”
௬அவன் யோர்தான் நதிக்கு அருகில் உள்ள தேசத்திற்குப்போய், பாவமன்னிப்புக்கென்று மனந்திரும்புதலுக்கான ஞானஸ்நானத்தைக்குறித்துப் பிரசங்கித்தான்.
7 He said therefore to the multitudes that came forth to be baptized by him, Brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
௭அவன், தன்னிடத்தில் ஞானஸ்நானம் பெறுவதற்கு வந்த மக்கள் கூட்டத்தை நோக்கி: “விரியன்பாம்புக் குட்டிகளே! வருங்கோபத்திற்குத் தப்பித்துக்கொள்ள உங்களுக்கு வழிகாட்டினவன் யார்?
8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance; and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham for our father; for I say to you, that God is able out of these stones to raise up children to Abraham.
௮மனந்திரும்புதலுக்கு தகுந்த கனிகளைக் கொடுங்கள்; ஆபிரகாம் எங்களுடைய தகப்பன் என்று உங்களுக்குள்ளேசொல்லாதிருங்கள்; தேவன் இந்தக் கல்லுகளினால் ஆபிரகாமுக்குப் பிள்ளைகளை உண்டுபண்ண வல்லவராக இருக்கிறார் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
9 And already also is the axe lying at the root of the trees; every tree therefore that beareth not good fruit is to be cut down, and cast into the fire.
௯இப்பொழுதே கோடரியானது மரங்களின் வேர் அருகே வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; எனவே நல்ல கனிகொடுக்காத மரங்களெல்லாம் வெட்டப்பட்டு நெருப்பிலே போடப்படும் என்றான்.
10 And the multitudes asked him, saying, What then must we do?
௧0அப்பொழுது மக்கள் அவனை நோக்கி: அப்படியானால் நாங்கள் என்னசெய்யவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
11 He answered and said to them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath food, let him do likewise.
௧௧அவர்களுக்கு அவன் மறுமொழியாக: இரண்டு மேலாடையை வைத்திருக்கிறவன், ஒன்றும் இல்லாதவனுக்கு அதில் ஒன்றைக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்; உணவு வைத்திருப்பவனும் அப்படியே செய்யவேண்டும்” என்றான்.
12 And there came also publicans to be baptized, and said to him, Teacher, what must we do?
௧௨வரி வசூலிப்பவர்களும் ஞானஸ்நானம் பெறுவதற்கு வந்து, அவனை நோக்கி: “போதகரே, நாங்கள் என்னசெய்யவேண்டும்” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
13 And he said to them, Exact no more than hath been ordered you.
௧௩அதற்கு அவன்: “உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடப்பட்டதற்குமேல் அதிகமாக ஒன்றும் வாங்காதிருங்கள் என்றான்.
14 And soldiers also asked him, saying, And what must we do? And he said to them, Do violence to no one, accuse no one falsely, and be content with your wages.
௧௪போர்வீரர்களும் அவனை நோக்கி: “நாங்கள் என்னசெய்யவேண்டும்” என்று கேட்டார்கள். அதற்கு அவன்: “நீங்கள் யாரிடமும் கட்டாயப்படுத்தி பணம் வாங்காமலும், ஒருவன் மேலும் பொய்யாக குற்றஞ்சாட்டாமலும், உங்களுடைய சம்பளமே போதும் என்று இருங்கள்” என்றான்.
15 And while the people were in expectation, and all were considering in their hearts concerning John, whether he were the Christ,
௧௫யோவானைப்பற்றி: இவன்தான் கிறிஸ்துவோ என்று மக்களெல்லோரும் நினைத்துக்கொண்டு, தங்களுடைய இருதயங்களில் யோசித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது,
16 John answered and said to them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but he who is mightier than I is coming, the latchet of whose sandals I am not worthy to loose; he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and in fire.
௧௬யோவான் எல்லோருக்கும் மறுமொழியாக: “நான் தண்ணீரினால் உங்களுக்கு ஞானஸ்நானம் கொடுக்கிறேன், என்னைவிட வல்லவர் ஒருவர் வருகிறார், அவருடைய காலணிகளின் வாரை அவிழ்ப்பதற்குக்கூட நான் தகுதியானவன் இல்லை, அவர் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவராலும் அக்கினியினாலும் உங்களுக்கு ஞானஸ்நானம் கொடுப்பார்.
17 His winnowing-shovel is in his hand to thoroughly cleanse his threshing-floor, and gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire.
௧௭தூற்றுக்கூடை அவருடைய கையில் இருக்கிறது, அவர் தமது களத்தை நன்றாக சுத்தம்செய்து, தமது கோதுமையைக் களஞ்சியத்தில் சேர்ப்பார்; பதரையோ அணையாத அக்கினியினால் சுட்டெரிப்பார்” என்றான்.
18 And giving many other exhortations he published the glad tidings to the people.
௧௮வேறு அநேக புத்திமதிகளையும் அவன் மக்களுக்குச் சொல்லிப் பிரசங்கித்தான்.
19 But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him on account of Herodias the wife of his brother, and on account of all the evil deeds which Herod had done,
௧௯தேசத்தின் அதிபதியாகிய ஏரோது, அவன் சகோதரன் பிலிப்புவின் மனைவியாகிய ஏரோதியாளைத் திருமணம் செய்ததாலும், அவன் செய்த மற்றப் பொல்லாங்குகளுக்காகவும், யோவானாலே கடிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டபோது,
20 added this also to them all, that he shut up John in prison.
௨0ஏரோது தான் செய்த மற்ற எல்லாப் பொல்லாங்குகளும் போதாதென்று, யோவானைப் பிடித்து சிறையில் அடைத்துவைத்தான்.
21 And it came to pass, when all the people had been baptized, and Jesus also had been baptized, and was praying, that the heaven was opened,
௨௧மக்களெல்லோரும் ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்றபோது, இயேசுவும் ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்று, ஜெபம்பண்ணும்போது, வானம் திறக்கப்பட்டது;
22 and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in a bodily shape as a dove; and a voice came from heaven: “Thou art my beloved Son; with thee I am well pleased.”
௨௨பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் புறாவைப்போல அவர்மேல் இறங்கினார். வானத்திலிருந்து ஒரு சத்தம் உண்டாகி: “நீர் என்னுடைய நேசகுமாரன், உம்மிடம் பிரியமாக இருக்கிறேன்” என்று உரைத்தது.
23 And Jesus himself was, when he began, about thirty years of age, being, as was supposed, the son of Joseph, who was the son of Heli,
௨௩அப்பொழுது இயேசு ஏறக்குறைய முப்பது வயதுள்ளவராக இருந்தார். அவர் யோசேப்பின் குமாரனென்று எண்ணப்பட்டார். அந்த யோசேப்பு ஏலியின் குமாரன்;
24 who was the son of Matthath, who was the son of Levi, who was the son of Melchi, who was the son of Jannai, who was the son of Joseph,
௨௪ஏலி மாத்தாத்தின் குமாரன்; மாத்தாத் லேவியின் குமாரன்; லேவி மெல்கியின் குமாரன்; மெல்கி யன்னாவின் குமாரன்; யன்னா யோசேப்பின் குமாரன்;
25 who was the son of Mattathias, who was the son of Amos, who was the son of Nahum, who was the son of Esli, who was the son of Naggai,
௨௫யோசேப்பு மத்தத்தியாவின் குமாரன்; மத்தத்தியா ஆமோசின் குமாரன்; ஆமோஸ் நாகூமின் குமாரன்; நாகூம் எஸ்லியின் குமாரன்; எஸ்லி நங்காயின் குமாரன்.
