Luke 3
1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,
೧ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿಯಾದ ತಿಬೇರಿಯನು ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಗೆ ಬಂದ ಹದಿನೈದನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ, ಪೊಂತ್ಯ ಪಿಲಾತನು ಯೂದಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯೂ, ಹೆರೋದನು ಗಲಿಲಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಉಪರಾಜನೂ, ಅವನ ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನು ಇತುರಾಯ ತ್ರಕೋನೀತಿ ಸೀಮೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಉಪರಾಜನೂ, ಲುಸನ್ಯನು ಅಬಿಲೇನೆಗೆ ಉಪರಾಜನೂ ಆಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ
2 when Annas and Caiaphas were high-priests, the word of God came to John, the son of Zachariah, in the wilderness.
೨ಅನ್ನನು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಯಫನೂ ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಕರೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನನಿಗೆ ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಯಿತು.
3 And he came into all the country about the Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;
೩ಆತನು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ಹೊಳೆಯ ಸುತ್ತಲಿರುವ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಚರಿಸಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ, ನೀವು ಪಾಪ ಕ್ಷಮಾಪಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸಾರಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths!
೪ಇದು ಯೆಶಾಯನೆಂಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಅನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಆ ಮಾತು ಏನೆಂದರೆ, “‘ಕರ್ತನ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿರಿ, ಆತನ ಹಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟಗೆ ಮಾಡಿರಿ. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹಳ್ಳಕೊಳ್ಳಗಳು ಮುಚ್ಚಲ್ಪಡುವವು, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗುಡ್ಡಗಳು ತಗ್ಗಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವುದು, ಡೊಂಕಾಗಿರುವಂಥದು ನೆಟ್ಟಗಾಗುವುದು, ಕೊರಕಲಾದ ದಾರಿಗಳು ಸಮವಾಗುವವು. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೂ ದೇವರಿಂದಾಗುವ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವರು’ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಗುವವನ ಶಬ್ದವದೆ” ಎಂಬುದೇ.
5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the crooked places shall be made straight, and the rough ways smooth;
೫
6 and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.”

7 He said therefore to the multitudes that came forth to be baptized by him, Brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
೭ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಯೋಹಾನನು ತನ್ನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟುಬಂದ ಜನರ ಗುಂಪಿಗೆ, “ಎಲೈ ಸರ್ಪಸಂತತಿಯವರೇ, ಮುಂದೆ ಕಾಣಬರುವ ದೇವರ ಕೋಪದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಕೊಟ್ಟವರಾರು?
8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance; and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham for our father; for I say to you, that God is able out of these stones to raise up children to Abraham.
೮ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಮಾನಸಾಂತರಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದ ಫಲಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿರಿ. ‘ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ನಮಗೆ ತಂದೆಯಲ್ಲವೇ’ ಎಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ. ದೇವರು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗೆ ಈ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸಬಲ್ಲನೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
9 And already also is the axe lying at the root of the trees; every tree therefore that beareth not good fruit is to be cut down, and cast into the fire.
೯ಈಗಲೇ ಮರಗಳ ಬೇರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಲಿ ಹಾಕಿಯದೆ; ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಕೊಡದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮರವನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕುವರು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
10 And the multitudes asked him, saying, What then must we do?
೧೦ಆಗ ಆ ಗುಂಪಿನವರು, “ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನಾವೇನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು?” ಎಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ,
11 He answered and said to them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath food, let him do likewise.
೧೧ಆತನು, “ಎರಡು ಅಂಗಿಗಳುಳ್ಳವನು ಇಲ್ಲದವನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಕೊಡಲಿ; ಆಹಾರವುಳ್ಳವನು ಇಲ್ಲದವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
12 And there came also publicans to be baptized, and said to him, Teacher, what must we do?
೧೨ಸುಂಕ ವಸೂಲಿಗಾರರು ಸಹ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬಂದು, “ಗುರುವೇ, ನಾವೇನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲು,
13 And he said to them, Exact no more than hath been ordered you.
೧೩ಆತನು, “ನೇಮಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಏನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
14 And soldiers also asked him, saying, And what must we do? And he said to them, Do violence to no one, accuse no one falsely, and be content with your wages.
೧೪ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳು ಸಹ ಬಂದು, “ನಾವು ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಯಾರನ್ನಾದರೂ ಬೆದರಿಸಿ ದುಡ್ಡು ಕಸಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಯಾರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಸುಳ್ಳುದೂರು ಹೇಳಬೇಡಿರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಬಳದಲ್ಲಿ ತೃಪ್ತರಾಗಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
15 And while the people were in expectation, and all were considering in their hearts concerning John, whether he were the Christ,
೧೫ಹೀಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಜನರು ಬರಬೇಕಾದ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನನ್ನು ಎದುರು ನೋಡುವವರಾಗಿದ್ದದರಿಂದ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಯೋಹಾನನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಇವನೇ ಆ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಾಗಿರಬಹುದೋ ಏನೋ ಎಂದು ತಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಚಾರಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರಲು,
16 John answered and said to them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but he who is mightier than I is coming, the latchet of whose sandals I am not worthy to loose; he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and in fire.
೧೬ಯೋಹಾನನು ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ, “ನಾನಂತೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ನೀರಿನ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸುವವನು; ಆದರೆ ನನಗಿಂತ ಶಕ್ತನು ಬರುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆತನ ಕೆರಗಳ ಬಾರನ್ನು ಬಿಚ್ಚುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ನಾನು ಯೋಗ್ಯನಲ್ಲ. ಆತನು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸುವನು.
17 His winnowing-shovel is in his hand to thoroughly cleanse his threshing-floor, and gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire.
೧೭ಆತನು ಮೊರವನ್ನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ತನ್ನ ಕಣದಲ್ಲಿಯ ರಾಶಿಯನ್ನು ತೂರಿ ಹಸನುಮಾಡಿ ಗೋದಿಯನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕಣಜದಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು. ಹೊಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಆರದ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವನು” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
18 And giving many other exhortations he published the glad tidings to the people.
೧೮ಇನ್ನು ಬೇರೆ ಅನೇಕ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಆತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೇಳಿ ಶುಭವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
19 But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him on account of Herodias the wife of his brother, and on account of all the evil deeds which Herod had done,
೧೯ಆದರೆ ಉಪರಾಜನಾದ ಹೆರೋದನು ತನ್ನ ಅಣ್ಣನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾದ ಹೆರೋದ್ಯಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ, ತಾನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದುಷ್ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಯೋಹಾನನಿಂದ ಗದರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದರಿಂದ,
20 added this also to them all, that he shut up John in prison.
೨೦ಆತನನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ದುಷ್ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
21 And it came to pass, when all the people had been baptized, and Jesus also had been baptized, and was praying, that the heaven was opened,
೨೧ಜನರೆಲ್ಲಾ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಯೇಸು ಸಹ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಆಕಾಶವು ತೆರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು
22 and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in a bodily shape as a dove; and a voice came from heaven: “Thou art my beloved Son; with thee I am well pleased.”
೨೨ಮತ್ತು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನು ದೇಹಾಕಾರನಾಗಿ ಪಾರಿವಾಳದ ಹಾಗೆ ಆತನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಳಿದನು. ಆಗ, “ನೀನು ಪ್ರಿಯನಾಗಿರುವ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಾನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿದ್ದೇನೆ” ಎಂಬ ವಾಣಿಯು ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಬಂದಿತು.
23 And Jesus himself was, when he began, about thirty years of age, being, as was supposed, the son of Joseph, who was the son of Heli,
೨೩ಯೇಸು ಉಪದೇಶಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ ಸುಮಾರು ಮೂವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಆತನು ಜನರ ಎಣಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಮಗನು. ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಹೇಲಿಯನ ಮಗನು;
24 who was the son of Matthath, who was the son of Levi, who was the son of Melchi, who was the son of Jannai, who was the son of Joseph,
೨೪ಹೇಲಿಯನು ಮತ್ಥಾತನ ಮಗನು; ಮತ್ಥಾತನನು ಲೇವಿಯ ಮಗನು; ಲೇವಿಯನು ಮೆಲ್ಖಿಯನ ಮಗನು; ಮೆಲ್ಖಿಯನು ಯನ್ನಾಯನ ಮಗನು;
25 who was the son of Mattathias, who was the son of Amos, who was the son of Nahum, who was the son of Esli, who was the son of Naggai,
೨೫ಯನ್ನಾಯನು ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಮಗನು; ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಮತ್ತಥೀಯನ ಮಗನು; ಮತ್ತಥೀಯನು ಆಮೋಸನ ಮಗನು; ಆಮೋಸನು ನಹೂಮನ ಮಗನು; ನಹೂಮನು ಎಸ್ಲಿಯ ಮಗನು; ಎಸ್ಲಿಯನು ನಗ್ಗಾಯನ ಮಗನು; ನಗ್ಗಾಯನು ಮಹಾಥನ ಮಗನು;
26 who was the son of Maath, who was the son of Mattathias, who was the son of Shimei, who was the son of Josech, who was the son of Joda,
೨೬ಮಹಾಥನು ಮತ್ತಥೀಯನ ಮಗನು; ಮತ್ತಥೀಯನು ಶಿಮೀಯನ ಮಗನು; ಶಿಮೀಯನು ಯೋಸೇಖನ ಮಗನು; ಯೋಸೇಖನು ಯೂದನ ಮಗನು; ಯೂದನು ಯೋಹಾನನ ಮಗನು;
27 who was the son of Joanan, who was the son of Rhesa, who was the son of Zerubbabel, who was the son of Shealtiel, who was the son of Neri,
೨೭ಯೋಹಾನನು ರೇಸನ ಮಗನು; ರೇಸನು ಜೆರುಬ್ಬಾಬೆಲನ ಮಗನು, ಜೆರುಬ್ಬಾಬೆಲನು ಸಲಥಿಯೇಲನ ಮಗನು; ಸಲಥಿಯೇಲನು ನೇರಿಯನ ಮಗನು;
28 who was the son of Melchi, who was the son of Addi, who was the son of Kosam, who was the son of Elmadam, who was the son of Er,
೨೮ನೇರಿಯನು ಮೆಲ್ಖಿಯನ ಮಗನು; ಮೆಲ್ಖಿಯನು ಅದ್ದಿಯನ ಮಗನು; ಅದ್ದಿಯನು ಕೋಸಾಮನ ಮಗನು; ಕೋಸಾಮನು ಎಲ್ಮದಾಮನ ಮಗನು; ಎಲ್ಮದಾಮನು ಏರನ ಮಗನು;
29 who was the son of Jesus, who was the son of Eliezer, who was the son of Jorim, who was the son of Matthath, who was the son of Levi,
೨೯ಏರನು ಯೆಹೋಷುವನ ಮಗನು; ಯೆಹೋಷುವನು ಎಲಿಯೇಜರನ ಮಗನು; ಎಲಿಯೇಜರನು ಯೋರೈಮನ ಮಗನು; ಯೋರೈಮನು ಮತ್ಥಾತನ ಮಗನು; ಮತ್ಥಾತನು ಲೇವಿಯನ ಮಗನು;
30 who was the son of Simeon, who was the son of Judah, who was the son of Joseph, who was the son of Jonam, who was the son of Eliakim,
೩೦ಲೇವಿಯನು ಸಿಮಿಯೋನನ ಮಗನು; ಸಿಮಿಯೋನನು ಯೂದನ ಮಗನು; ಯೂದನು ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಮಗನು; ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಯೋನಾಮನ ಮಗನು; ಯೋನಾಮನು ಎಲಿಯಕೀಮನ ಮಗನು;
31 who was the son of Melea, who was the son of Menna, who was the son of Mattatha, who was the son of Nathan, who was the son of David,
೩೧ಎಲಿಯಕೀಮನು ಮೆಲೆಯಾನ ಮಗನು; ಮೆಲೆಯಾನು ಮೆನ್ನನ ಮಗನು; ಮೆನ್ನನು ಮತ್ತಾಥನ ಮಗನು; ಮತ್ತಾಥನು ನಾಥಾನನ ಮಗನು; ನಾಥಾನನು ದಾವೀದನ ಮಗನು;
32 who was the son of Jesse, who was the son of Obed, who was the son of Boaz, who was the son of Salma, who was the son of Nahshon,
೩೨ದಾವೀದನು ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನು; ಇಷಯನು ಓಬೇದನ ಮಗನು; ಓಬೇದನು ಬೋವಜನ ಮಗನು; ಬೋವಜನು ಸಲ್ಮೋನನ ಮಗನು; ಸಲ್ಮೋನನು ನಹಶೋನನ ಮಗನು;
33 who was the son of Amminadab, who was the son of Admin, who was the son of Arni, who was the son of Hezron, who was the son of Pharez, who was the son of Judah,
೩೩ನಹಶೋನನು ಅಮ್ಮಿನಾದಾಬನ ಮಗನು; ಅಮ್ಮಿನಾದಾಬನು ಅದ್ಮಿನನ ಮಗನು; ಅದ್ಮಿನನು ಆರ್ನೈಯನ ಮಗನು; ಆರ್ನೈಯನು ಎಸ್ರೋನನ ಮಗನು; ಎಸ್ರೋನನು ಪೆರೆಚನ ಮಗನು;
34 who was the son of Jacob, who was the son of Isaac, who was the son of Abraham, who was the son of Terah, who was the son of Nahor,
೩೪ಪೆರೆಚನು ಯೂದನ ಮಗನು; ಯೂದನು ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಮಗನು; ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಇಸಾಕನ ಮಗನು; ಇಸಾಕನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಮಗನು; ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ತೇರನ ಮಗನು; ತೇರನು ನಾಹೋರನ ಮಗನು;
35 who was the son of Serug, who was the son of Reu, who was the son of Peleg, who was the son of Eber, who was the son of Shelah,
೩೫ನಾಹೋರನು ಸೆರೂಗನ ಮಗನು; ಸೆರೂಗನು ರೆಗೂವನ ಮಗನು; ರೆಗೂವನು ಪೆಲೆಗನ ಮಗನು; ಪೆಲೆಗನು ಹೇಬೆರನ ಮಗನು; ಹೇಬೆರನು ಸಾಲನ ಮಗನು;
36 who was the son of Cainan, who was the son of Arphaxad, who was the son of Shem, who was the son of Noah, who was the son of Lamech,
೩೬ಸಾಲನು ಕಯಿನಾನನ ಮಗನು; ಕಯಿನಾನನು ಅರ್ಫಕ್ಷಾದನ ಮಗನು; ಅರ್ಫಕ್ಷಾದನು ಶೇಮನ ಮಗನು; ಶೇಮನು ನೋಹನ ಮಗನು; ನೋಹನು ಲಾಮೆಕನ ಮಗನು;
37 who was the son of Methuselah, who was the son of Enoch, who was the son of Jared, who was the son of Mahalaleel, who was the son of Cainan,
೩೭ಲಾಮೆಕನು ಮೆತೂಷಲನ ಮಗನು; ಮೆತೂಷಲನು ಹನೋಕನ ಮಗನು; ಹನೋಕನು ಯೆರೆದನ ಮಗನು; ಯೆರೆದನು ಮಹಲಲೇಲನ ಮಗನು; ಮಹಲಲೇಲನು ಕಯಿನಾನನ ಮಗನು;
38 who was the son of Enos, who was the son of Seth, who was the son of Adam, who was the son of God.
೩೮ಕಯಿನಾನನು ಎನೋಷನ ಮಗನು; ಎನೋಷನು ಸೇಥನ ಮಗನು; ಸೇಥನು ಆದಾಮನ ಮಗನು ಆದಾಮನು ದೇವರ ಮಗನು.
