Luke 23
1 And the whole assemblage of them arose, and carried him before Pilate.
१मग त्यांचा सर्व समुदाय उठला व त्यांनी येशूला पिलाताकडे नेले.
2 And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this man perverting our nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, and saying that he himself is the Christ, the king.
२व ते त्याच्यावर आरोप करू लागले. ते म्हणाले, “आम्ही या मनुष्यास लोकांची दिशाभूल करताना पकडले. तो कैसराला कर देण्यासाठी विरोध करतो आणि म्हणतो की, तो स्वतः ख्रिस्त, एक राजा आहे.”
3 And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the king of the Jews? And he answering said to him, I am.
३मग पिलाताने येशूला विचारले, तू यहूद्यांचा राजा आहेस काय? येशू म्हणाला, “आपण म्हणता तसेच.”
4 And Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, I find nothing criminal in this man.
४मग पिलात मुख्य याजकांना आणि जमावाला म्हणाला, या मनुष्यावर दोष ठेवण्यास मला काही कारण आढळत नाही.
5 But they were the more violent, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Judaea, beginning from Galilee, even to this place.
५पण त्यांनी आग्रह धरला. ते म्हणाले, “यहूदीया प्रांतातील सर्व लोकांस तो आपल्या शिकवणीने चिथावित आहे, त्याने गालील प्रांतापासून सुरुवात केली आणि येथपर्यंत आला आहे.”
6 And when Pilate heard this, he asked whether the man was a Galilaean.
६पिलाताने हे ऐकले, तेव्हा त्याने विचारले की, “हा मनुष्य गालील प्रांताचा आहे काय?”
7 And on learning that he belonged to Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was himself also at Jerusalem at this time.
७जेव्हा त्यास समजले की, येशू हेरोदाच्या अधिकाराखाली येतो, तेव्हा त्याने त्यास हेरोदाकडे पाठवले. तो त्या दिवसात यरूशलेम शहरामध्येच होता.
8 Now Herod, when he saw Jesus, was very glad; for he had been wishing to see him for a long time, because he had heard about him; and he hoped to see some sign wrought by him.
८हेरोदाने येशूला पाहिले तेव्हा त्यास फार आनंद झाला, कारण त्याने त्याजविषयी ऐकले होते व त्यास असे वाटत होते की, तो एखादा चमत्कार करील व आपल्याला तो बघायला मिळेल अशी आशा त्यास होती.
9 And he put many questions to him; but he gave him no answer.
९त्याने येशूला अनेक प्रश्न विचारले, पण येशूने त्यास उत्तर दिले नाही.
10 And the chief priests and scribes stood vehemently accusing him.
१०मुख्य याजक लोक आणि नियमशास्त्राचे शिक्षक तेथे उभे राहून त्याच्याविरुध्द जोरदारपणे आरोप करीत होते.
11 And Herod also with his guard of soldiers set him at nought and mocked him, and having arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, sent him back to Pilate.
११हेरोदाने त्याच्या शिपायांसह येशूला अपमानास्पद वागणूक दिली, त्याची थट्टा केली. त्यांनी त्याच्यावर एक तलम झगा घातला व त्यास पिलाताकडे परत पाठवले.
12 And Herod and Pilate on that day became friends with each other; for they had before been at enmity.
१२त्याच दिवशी हेरोद आणि पिलात एकमेकांचे मित्र बनले त्यापुर्वी ते एकमेकांचे वैरी होते.
13 And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
१३पिलाताने मुख्य याजक लोक, पुढारी आणि लोकांस एकत्र बोलावले.
14 said to them, Ye have brought to me this man, as one that perverteth the people; and behold, I have examined him before you, and have found nothing in this man to sustain the charges which ye bring against him.
१४“हा मनुष्य लोकांस फितवणारा म्हणून याला तुम्ही माझ्याकडे आणले; आणि पहा, ज्या गोष्टींचा आरोप तुम्ही याच्यावर ठेवता त्यासंबंधी मी तुमच्यासमक्ष चौकशी केल्यावर मला या मनुष्याकडे काहीही दोष सापडला नाही.
15 No, nor yet Herod; for he hath sent him back to us; and lo! nothing deserving death hath been done by him.
१५हेरोदालाही आरोपाविषयी काहीही आधार सापडला नाही कारण त्याने त्यास परत आमच्याकडे आणले आहे. तुम्हीही पाहू शकता की, मरणाची शिक्षा देण्यास योग्य असे त्याने काहीही केलेले नाही.
16 I will therefore chastise, and release him.
१६म्हणून मी याला फटके मारून सोडून देतो.”
17 Now it was necessary for him to release to them one at the feast.
१७कारण त्यास त्या सणात त्यांच्याकरिता एकाला सोडावे लागत असे.
18 And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas;
१८पण ते सर्व एकत्र मोठ्याने ओरडले, “या मनुष्यास ठार करा! आणि आम्हासाठी बरब्बाला सोडा!”
19 who, for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, had been cast into prison.
१९बरब्बाने शहरात खळबळ माजवली होती. त्याने काही लोकांस ठारही केले होते, त्यामुळे त्यास तुरुंगात टाकले होते.
20 But Pilate again spoke to them, wishing to release Jesus.
२०मग पिलात येशूला सोडण्याची इच्छा धरून फिरून त्यांच्याशी बोलला.
21 But they cried out, saying, Crucify, crucify him!
२१पण ते ओरडतच राहिले, “त्याला वधस्तंभावर खिळा, त्यास वधस्तंभावर खिळा!”
22 And he said to them the third time, Why, what evil hath this man done? I have found him guilty of nothing deserving death; I will therefore chastise, and release him.
२२पिलात तिसऱ्यांदा त्यांना म्हणाला, “का? या मनुष्याने असा कोणता गुन्हा केला आहे? मरणाची शिक्षा देण्यायोग्य असे मला याच्याविरुद्ध काहीही आढळले नाही. यास्तव मी याला फटक्याची शिक्षा सांगून सोडून देतो.”
23 But they were urgent with loud voices, demanding that he should he crucified; and their voices prevailed.
२३पण याला वधस्तंभावर खिळाच असा त्यांनी मोठ्याने ओरडून आग्रह चालविला आणि त्यांच्या ओरडण्याला यश आले.
24 And Pilate gave sentence that what they demanded should be done.
२४तेव्हा पिलाताने त्यांच्या मागण्याप्रमाणे व्हावे असे ठरवले.
25 And he released him who for sedition and murder had been cast into prison, whom they asked for; but Jesus he delivered up to their will.
२५जो मनुष्य दंगा आणि खून यासाठी तुरुंगात टाकला गेला होता व ज्याची त्यांनी मागणी केली होती त्यास त्याने सोडून दिले. पिलाताने त्यांच्या इच्छेप्रमाणे करण्यासाठी येशूला त्यांच्या हाती दिले.
26 And when they had led him away, they laid hold on one Simon a Cyrenaean, coming out of the country, and laid on him the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.
२६ते त्यास घेऊन जात असताना, कुरेनेकर शिमोन नावाचा कोणीएक शेतावरून येत होता त्यांनी त्यास धरले व त्याने येशूच्या मागे चालून वधस्तंभ वाहावा म्हणून तो त्याच्यावर ठेवला.
27 And there followed him a great multitude of the people, and of women who were bewailing and lamenting him.
२७लोकांचा व स्त्रियांचा मोठा समुदाय त्याच्यामागे चालला, त्या स्त्रिया त्याच्यासाठी ऊर बडवून शोक करीत होत्या.
28 But Jesus turning to them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me; but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
२८येशू त्यांच्याकडे वळून म्हणाला, “यरूशलेमच्या कन्यांनो, माझ्यासाठी रडू नका, तर आपल्या स्वतःसाठी आणि आपल्या मुलांबाळांसाठी रडा.
29 For lo! the days are coming, in which they will say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never gave nourishment.
२९कारण असे दिवस येत आहेत, जेव्हा लोक म्हणतील, धन्य त्या स्त्रिया ज्या वांझ आहेत आणि धन्य ती गर्भाशये, ज्यांनी जन्मदिले नाहीत व धन्य ती स्तने, ज्यांनी कधी पाजले नाही.
30 Then will they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
३०तेव्हा ‘ते पर्वतास म्हणतील, आम्हावर पडा आणि ते टेकड्यांस म्हणतील. आम्हास झाका’
31 For if they do these things in the green tree, what will be done in the dry?
३१ओल्या झाडाला असे करतात तर वाळलेल्यांचे काय?”
32 And two others, who were malefactors, were led with him to be put to death.
३२आणि दुसरे दोघे जण अपराधी होते त्यांनाही त्यांनी त्याच्याबरोबर जिवे मारण्यास नेले.
33 And when they had come to the place which is called the Skull, they there crucified him, and the malefactors; one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
३३आणि जेव्हा ते गुन्हेगारांसमवेत “कवटी” म्हटलेल्या ठिकाणी आले, तेथे त्यांनी त्यास व त्या अपराध्यांस, एकाला त्याच्या उजवीकडे व एकाला डावीकडे असे वधस्तंभावर खिळले.
34 And Jesus said, Father, forgive them! for they know not what they do. And they divided his garments, casting lots.
३४नंतर येशू म्हणाला, “हे पित्या, त्यांची क्षमा कर, कारण ते काय करतात हे त्यांना समजत नाही.” त्यांनी चिठ्ठ्या टाकून त्याचे कपडे वाटून घेतले.
35 And the people stood looking on; and the rulers sneered, saying, Others he saved; let him save himself, if this is the Christ of God, the chosen one.
३५लोक तेथे पाहत उभे होते आणि पुढारी थट्टा करून म्हणाले, त्याने दुसऱ्यांना वाचवले, जर तो ख्रिस्त, देवाचा निवडलेला असेल तर त्याने स्वतःला वाचवावे!
36 And the soldiers also came up to him and made sport of him, offering him vinegar,
३६शिपायांनीही त्याची थट्टा केली. ते त्याच्याकडे आले आणि त्यांनी त्यास आंब दिली.
37 and saying, If thou art the king of the Jews, save thyself.
३७आणि ते म्हणाले, “जर तू यहूद्यांचा राजा आहेस तर स्वतःला वाचव!”
38 There was also an inscription over him: “This is the king of the Jews.”
३८त्याच्यावर असे लिहिले होते “हा यहूदी लोकांचा राजा आहे.”
39 And one of the crucified malefactors railed at him, saying, Art thou not the Christ? save thyself and us.
३९तेथे खिळलेल्या एका गुन्हेगाराने त्याची निंदा केली. तो म्हणाला, तू ख्रिस्त नाहीस काय? स्वतःला व आम्हासही वाचव!
40 But the other answering said, rebuking him, Dost not thou fear God, since thou art in the same condemnation?
४०पण दुसऱ्या गुन्हेगाराने त्यास दटावले आणि म्हणाला, “तुला देवाचे भय नाही का? तुलाही तीच शिक्षा झाली आहे.
41 And we indeed justly; for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man hath done nothing amiss.
४१पण आपली शिक्षा योग्य आहे कारण आपण जे केले त्याचे योग्य फळ आपणास मिळत आहे. पण या मनुष्याने काहीही अयोग्य केले नाही.”
42 And he said, Jesus, remember me when thou comest in thy kingdom.
४२नंतर तो म्हणाला, “येशू, तू आपल्या राज्यात येशील तेव्हा माझी आठवण कर.”
43 And he said to him, Truly do I say to thee, Today shalt thou be with me in Paradise.
४३येशू त्यास म्हणाला, “मी तुला खरे सांगतो, आज तू मजबरोबर सुखलोकात असशील.”
44 And it was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour,
४४त्यावेळी जवळ जवळ दुपारचे बारा वाजले होते आणि तीन वाजेपर्यंत सर्व प्रदेशावर अंधार पडला. त्यादरम्यान सूर्य प्रकाशला नाही.
45 the sun having failed; and the veil of the temple was rent in two.
४५आणि परमेश्वराच्या भवनातील पडदा मधोमध फाटला आणि त्याचे दोन भाग झाले.
46 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit! And having said this, he expired.
४६येशू मोठ्या आवाजात ओरडला, “पित्या, मी आपला आत्मा तुझ्या हाती सोपवून देतो.” असे बोलून त्याने प्राण सोडून दिला.
47 And the centurion, seeing what was done, gave glory to God, saying, Surely this was a righteous man.
४७जेव्हा रोमी शताधीपतीने काय घडले ते पाहिले तेव्हा त्याने देवाचे गौरव केले आणि म्हणाला, “खरोखर हा नीतिमान मनुष्य होता.”
48 And all the multitudes that had come together to that sight, when they had seen the things which were done, returned, beating their breasts.
४८हे दृष्य पाहण्यासाठी जमलेल्या लोकांनी घडलेल्या गोष्टी पाहिल्या, तेव्हा ते छाती बडवीत परत गेले.
49 And all his acquaintances stood at a distance, and women that came with him from Galilee, beholding these things.
४९परंतु त्याच्या ओळखीचे सर्वजण हे पाहण्यासाठी दूर उभे राहिले. त्यामध्ये गालील प्रांताहून त्याच्यामागे आलेल्या स्त्रियाही होत्या.
50 And lo! a man named Joseph, of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews, being a councilor, and a good and righteous man,
५०तेथे योसेफ नावाचा एक मनुष्य होता. तो यहूदी सभेचा सभासद व चांगला आणि नीतिमान मनुष्य होता.
51 who was not consenting to their purpose and deed, and was waiting for the kingdom of God, —
५१त्याने त्याच्या कामाला व विचारला संमती दिली नव्हती. तो यहूदीया प्रांतातील अरिमथाई नगराचा होता. तो देवाच्या राज्याची वाट पाहत होता.
52 this man went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.
५२हा मनुष्य पिलाताकडे गेला आणि त्याने येशूचे शरीर मागितले.
53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a tomb that was hewn out of the rock; wherein no one had yet lain.
५३ते त्याने वधस्तंभावरुन खाली काढले आणि तागाच्या वस्त्रात गुंडाळले. नंतर ते खडकात खोदलेल्या कबरेत ठेवले. ही कबर अशी होती की, जिच्यात तोपर्यंत कोणालाही ठेवले नव्हते.
54 And it was the day of preparation, and the sabbath was now coming on.
५४तो तयारीचा दिवस होता आणि शब्बाथ सुरु होणार होता.
55 And the women also, who had come with him from Galilee, followed after, and saw the tomb, and how his body was laid.
५५गालील प्रांताहून येशूबरोबर आलेल्या स्त्रिया योसेफाच्या मागे गेल्या. त्यांनी ती कबर व तिच्यामध्ये ते शरीर कसे ठेवले ते पाहिले.
56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and on the sabbath they rested, according to the commandment.
५६नंतर त्या घरी गेल्या व त्यांनी सुगंधी मसाले आणि लेप तयार केला. शब्बाथ दिवशी त्यांनी आज्ञेप्रमाणे विसावा घेतला.
