Luke 2
1 And it came to pass in those days that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be registered.
౧ఆ రోజుల్లో రోమా పాలనలో ఉన్న ప్రపంచమంతటా జనసంఖ్య నిర్వహించాలని సీజరు అగస్టస్ ఆజ్ఞాపించాడు.
2 (This registering was the first made while Quirinius was governor of Syria.)
౨ఇది కురేనియస్ సిరియా దేశానికి గవర్నర్ గా ఉండగా జరిగిన మొదటి జనసంఖ్య.
3 And all went to be registered, each to his own city.
౩అందులో పేరు నమోదు చేయించుకోవడానికి అంతా తమ స్వగ్రామాలకు వెళ్ళారు.
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee out of the city of Nazareth into Judaea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,
౪యోసేపు కూడా దావీదు వంశంలో పుట్టినవాడు కాబట్టి ఆ జనసంఖ్యలో నమోదు కావడానికి గలిలయలోని నజరేతు నుండి యూదయలోని బేత్లెహేము అనే పేరున్న దావీదు ఊరికి వెళ్ళాడు.
5 to be registered with Mary who had been betrothed to him, who was with child.
౫తనకు భార్యగా ప్రదానం జరిగి గర్భవతిగా ఉన్న మరియతో సహా వెళ్ళాడు.
6 And it came to pass, while they were there, that the days for her delivery were completed.
౬వారక్కడ ఉన్న సమయంలో ఆమెకు నెలలు నిండాయి.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swathing-clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
౭ఆమె తన తొలిచూలు బిడ్డను కని, మెత్తని గుడ్డలతో చుట్టి, ఆయనను ఒక పశువుల తొట్టిలో పడుకోబెట్టింది. ఎందుకంటే సత్రంలో వారికి స్థలం దొరకలేదు.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, and keeping watch over their flock by night.
౮ఆ పరిసరాల్లో కొందరు గొర్రెల కాపరులు పొలంలో రాత్రివేళ తమ మందను కాచుకొంటూ ఉన్నారు
9 And an angel of the Lord came to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were in great fear.
౯ప్రభువు దూత వారి దగ్గరికి వచ్చాడు. ప్రభువు తేజస్సు వారి చుట్టూ ప్రకాశించింది. వారు హడలిపోయారు.
10 And the angel said to them, Fear not; for lo! I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to the whole people;
౧౦అయితే ఆ దూత, “భయపడకండి. ఇదిగో మీతో సహా మనుషులందరికీ మహానందకరమైన శుభవార్త నేను మీకు తెచ్చాను.
11 for to you hath been born this day, in the city of David, a Saviour, who is the Christ, the Lord.
౧౧దావీదు ఊరిలో మీకోసం రక్షకుడు పుట్టాడు, ఈయన ప్రభువైన క్రీస్తు.
12 And this shall be the sign to you: Ye shall find a babe wrapped in swathing-clothes, [[lying]] in a manger.
౧౨మీకు కొండ గుర్తు ఒకటే. ఒక పసికందు మెత్తని గుడ్డలతో చుట్టి పశువుల తొట్టిలో పడుకుని ఉండడం మీరు చూస్తారు” అని వారితో చెప్పాడు.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
౧౩ఉన్నట్టుండి అసంఖ్యాకంగా పరలోక దూతల సమూహం ఆ దూతతోబాటు ఉండి,
14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men of good will!”
౧౪“సర్వోన్నత స్థలాల్లో దేవునికి మహిమ. ఆయనకిష్టమైన మనుషులకు భూమి మీద శాంతి సమాధానాలు కలుగు గాక!” అంటూ దేవుణ్ణి స్తుతించారు.
15 And it came to pass, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said one to another, Let us go at once to Bethlehem, and see that which hath come to pass, which the Lord hath made known to us.
౧౫ఆ దూతలు తమ దగ్గర నుండి పరలోకానికి వెళ్ళిపోయిన తరువాత ఆ గొర్రెల కాపరులు, “జరిగిన ఈ విషయం ప్రభువు మనకు తెలియజేశాడు. మనం బేత్లెహేముకు వెళ్ళి చూద్దాం పదండి,” అని ఒకడితో ఒకడు చెప్పుకుని
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in the manger.
౧౬త్వరగా వెళ్ళి, మరియను, యోసేపును, తొట్టిలో పడుకుని ఉన్న పసికందును చూశారు.
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad what had been told them concerning this child.
౧౭ఆ పసికందును గురించి దేవదూత తమతో చెప్పిన మాటలు ప్రచారం చేశారు.
18 And all who heard wondered at the things which were told them by the shepherds.
౧౮గొర్రెల కాపరులు తమతో చెప్పిన సంగతులు విన్నవారంతా ఎంతో ఆశ్చర్యపోయారు.
19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
౧౯మరియ మాత్రం ఆ విషయాలన్నీ హృదయంలో మననం చేసుకుంటూ పదిలపరచుకుంది.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all which they had heard and seen, as had been told them.
౨౦ఆ గొర్రెల కాపరులు తమతో చెప్పినట్టుగా తాము విన్నవాటిని, కన్నవాటినన్నిటిని గురించి దేవుణ్ణి మహిమ పరుస్తూ కీర్తిస్తూ వెళ్ళిపోయారు.
21 And when eight days were completed for him to be circumcised, his name was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
౨౧ఆ బిడ్డకి సున్నతి ఆచారం జరిగించవలసిన ఎనిమిదవ రోజున, ఆయన గర్భంలో పడక మునుపు దేవదూత పెట్టిన యేసు అనే పేరు వారు ఆయనకు పెట్టారు.
22 And when the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they brought him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord,
౨౨మోషే ధర్మశాస్త్రం ప్రకారం శుద్ధీకరణ దినాలు పూర్తి అయినాయి. “ప్రతి తొలిచూలు మగబిడ్డను ప్రభువుకు ప్రతిష్ఠ చేయాలి” అని ప్రభువు ధర్మశాస్త్రంలో రాసి ఉంది. కాబట్టి ఆయనను ప్రభువుకు ప్రతిష్ఠించడానికి, ప్రభువు ధర్మశాస్త్రంలో రాసి ఉన్నట్టు గువ్వల జతను గానీ రెండు పావురం పిల్లలను గానీ బలిగా సమర్పించడానికి వారు ఆయనను యెరూషలేముకు తీసుకు వెళ్ళారు.
23 as it is written in the law of the Lord: “Every first-born male shall be called holy to the Lord,”
౨౩
24 and to offer a sacrifice, according to what is directed in the law of the Lord: “A pair of turtle doves, or two young pigeons.”
౨౪
25 And lo! there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and he was a righteous and devout man, waiting for the consolation of Israel. And the Holy Spirit was upon him;
౨౫యెరూషలేములో సుమెయోను అనే ఒక వృద్ధుడు ఉన్నాడు. అతడు న్యాయవంతుడు, భక్తిపరుడు. ఇశ్రాయేలుకు కలగబోయే ఆదరణ కోసం ఎదురు చూసేవాడు. పరిశుద్ధాత్మ అతనిపై ఉన్నాడు.
26 and it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death before he had seen the Christ of the Lord.
౨౬అతడు ప్రభువు అభిషిక్తుణ్ణి చూడకుండా చనిపోడని అతనికి పరిశుద్ధాత్మ వెల్లడించాడు.
27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the law,
౨౭ఆ రోజు అతడు ఆత్మవశుడై దేవాలయంలోకి వచ్చాడు. ధర్మశాస్త్ర పద్ధతి ప్రకారం ఆయన విషయంలో జరిగించడానికి తల్లిదండ్రులు చంటి బిడ్డ యేసును దేవాలయంలోకి తెచ్చారు.
28 he took him in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
౨౮సుమెయోను తన చేతుల్లో ఆయనను ఎత్తుకుని దేవుణ్ణి స్తుతిస్తూ ఇలా అన్నాడు,
29 Lord! now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word;
౨౯“ప్రభూ, ఇప్పుడు నీ మాట చొప్పున శాంతితో నీ సేవకుణ్ణి కడతేరి పోనిస్తున్నావు గదా!
30 for mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
౩౦అన్యజనులకు నిన్ను వెల్లడించే వెలుగుగా, నీ ప్రజలైన ఇశ్రాయేలుకు మహిమగా నీవు ప్రజలందరి ఎదుట సిద్ధం చేసిన నీ రక్షణ నేను కళ్ళారా చూశాను.”
31 which thou hast prepared before the face of all the peoples;
౩౧
32 a light to enlighten the gentiles, and to be the glory of thy people Israel.
౩౨
33 And his father and his mother marveled at what was spoken concerning him.
౩౩యోసేపు, ఆయన తల్లీ ఆయనను గురించి సుమెయోను చెప్పిన మాటలు విని ఆశ్చర్యపోయారు.
34 And Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary his mother, Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that will be spoken against; —
౩౪అతడు వారిని దీవించి, మరియతో ఇలా అన్నాడు, “అనేకమంది హృదయాలోచనలు బయట పడేలా, ఇశ్రాయేలులో చాలా మంది పడడానికీ లేవడానికీ వివాదాస్పదమైన చిహ్నంగా దేవుడు ఈయనను నియమించాడు.
35 yea, a sword will pierce through thine own soul, —that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.
౩౫అంతేగాక నీ హృదయంలోకి ఒక కత్తి దూసుకు పోతుంది.”
36 And there was Anna, a prophetess, daughter of Phanuel: of the tribe of Asher; she was of great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity;
౩౬దేవుని మూలంగా పలికే అన్నా అనే ఆమె కూడా అక్కడ ఉంది. ఆమెది ఆషేరు గోత్రం, ఆమె పనూయేలు కుమార్తె. ఆమె పెళ్ళయి ఏడు సంవత్సరాలు భర్తతో కాపురం చేసి వృద్ధాప్యంలో,
37 and she was a widow eighty-four years old, who never left the temple, worshipping with fastings and prayers night and day.
౩౭ఎనభై నాలుగేళ్ళ వయసు వరకూ వితంతువుగా ఉండిపోయింది. ఆమె దేవాలయంలోనే ఉంటూ ఉపవాస ప్రార్థనలతో రేయింబవళ్ళు సేవ చేస్తూ ఉండేది.
38 And she came up at this very time, and gave thanks to God, and spoke of him to all that were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem.
౩౮ఆమె కూడా ఆ సమయంలోనే లోపలికి వచ్చి దేవుణ్ణి కొనియాడి, యెరూషలేము విముక్తి కోసం ఎదురు చూస్తున్న వారందరితో ఆ బిడ్డను గురించి మాట్లాడుతూ ఉంది.
39 And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.
౩౯ఆ విధంగా యోసేపు, మరియ ప్రభువు ధర్మశాస్త్రం చొప్పున ఆచారాలన్నీ పూర్తి చేసుకుని గలిలయలోని తమ స్వగ్రామం నజరేతుకు వెళ్ళిపోయారు.
40 And the child grew, and waxed strong, being filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon him.
౪౦పసివాడు ఎదుగుతూ, బలపడుతూ జ్ఞానంలో ఎదుగుతూ ఉన్నాడు. దేవుని దయ ఆయన మీద ఉంది.
41 Now his parents used to go yearly to Jerusalem at the feast of the passover.
౪౧పస్కా పండగప్పుడు ఆయన తల్లిదండ్రులు ఏటేటా యెరూషలేముకు వెళ్ళడం కద్దు.
42 And when he was twelve years old, and they went up, after the custom of the feast,
౪౨ఆయన పన్నెండేళ్ళ ప్రాయంలో వాడుక చొప్పున వారు ఆ పండగకు యెరూషలేము వెళ్ళారు.
43 and had completed the days, on their returning, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and his parents did not know it,
౪౩ఆ రోజులు తీరిన తరువాత వారు తిరిగి వెళుతుండగా బాల యేసు యెరూషలేములో ఉండిపోయాడు. ఆయన తల్లిదండ్రులకు ఆ సంగతి తెలియలేదు.
44 but, supposing him to be in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance;
౪౪ఆయన గుంపులో ఉన్నాడనుకుని, ఒక రోజు ప్రయాణం చేసి, తమ బంధువుల్లో, అయినవారిలో ఆయనను వెదకసాగారు.
45 and not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem in search of him.
౪౫ఆయన కనబడక పోవడంతో ఆయనను వెదుక్కుంటూ యెరూషలేముకు తిరిగి వచ్చారు.
46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.
౪౬అప్పటికి మూడు రోజులైంది. ఆయన ఆలయంలో ఉపదేశకుల మధ్య కూర్చుని, వారి మాటలు వింటూ వారిని ప్రశ్నలడుగుతూ ఉండగా చూశారు.
47 And all who heard him were astonished at his understanding and his answers.
౪౭ఆయన మాటలు విన్న వారందరూ ఆయన ప్రజ్ఞకు, ప్రత్యుత్తరాలకు అబ్బురపడ్డారు.
48 And when they saw him, they were amazed; and his mother said to him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have been seeking thee in much distress.
౪౮ఆయన తల్లిదండ్రులు ఆయనను చూసి ఎంతో ఆశ్చర్యపోయారు. ఆయన తల్లి, “కుమారా, ఎందుకిలా చేశావు? మీ నాన్న, నేను ఆందోళనగా నిన్ను వెదకుతున్నాం” అంది.
49 And he said to them, Why is it that ye have been seeking me? Did ye not know that I must be about my Father's business?
౪౯అందుకు ఆయన, “మీరెందుకు నన్ను వెతుకుతున్నారు? నేను నా తండ్రి పనుల మీద ఉండాలని మీకు తెలియదా?” అన్నాడు.
50 And they understood not what he spoke to them.
౫౦కానీ ఆయన తమతో చెప్పిందేమిటో వారికి అర్థం కాలేదు.
51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them. And his mother kept all these things in her heart.
౫౧అప్పుడు ఆయన వారితో కలిసి బయలుదేరి నజరేతుకు వచ్చి వారికి లోబడి ఉన్నాడు. ఆయన తల్లి ఈ సంగతులన్నిటినీ తన హృదయంలో భద్రం చేసికుంది.
52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
౫౨యేసు జ్ఞానంలోనూ, వయసులోనూ, దేవుని దయలోనూ, మనుషుల దయలోనూ దినదిన ప్రవర్థమానమవుతూ ఉన్నాడు.
