Luke 18
1 And he spoke a parable to them to show that they ought to pray always, and not be faint-hearted:
১আর তিনি তাদের এই রকম এক গল্প বললেন যে, তাদের সবদিন প্রার্থনা করা উচিত, নিরুৎসাহ হওয়া উচিত নয়।
2 saying, There was in a certain city a judge, who feared not God, nor regarded man.
২তিনি বললেন, কোনো শহরে এক বিচারক ছিল, সে ঈশ্বরকে ভয় করত না, মানুষকেও মানত না।
3 And there was a widow in that city; and she kept coming to him, saying, Avenge me of my adversary!
৩আর সেই শহরে এক বিধবা ছিল, সে তার কাছে এসে বলত, অন্যায়ের প্রতিকার করে আমার বিপক্ষ থেকে আমাকে উদ্ধার করুন!
4 And he would not for some time. But afterward he said within himself, Though I neither fear God, nor regard man,
৪বিচারক কিছুদিন পর্যন্ত কিছুই করলেন না; কিন্তু পরে মনে মনে বলল, যদিও আমি ঈশ্বরকে ভয় করি না, মানুষকেও মানি না,
5 yet, because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her; lest by coming for ever she weary me out.
৫তবুও এই বিধবা আমাকে কষ্ট দিচ্ছে, সেইজন্য বিচার থেকে একে উদ্ধার করব, না হলে সর্বদা আমাকে জ্বালাতন করবে।
6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
৬পরে প্রভু বললেন, শোন, ঐ অধার্ম্মিক বিচারক কি বলে।
7 And will not God avenge his chosen, who cry to him day and night, though he be slow to punish in their behalf?
৭তবে ঈশ্বর কি তাঁর সেই মনোনীতদের পক্ষে অন্যায়ের প্রতিকার করবেন না, যারা দিন রাত তাঁর কাছে ক্রন্দন করে, যদিও তিনি তাদের বিষয়ে দীর্ঘসহিষ্ণু?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. But yet, when the Son of man cometh, will he find faith on the earth?
৮আমি তোমাদের বলছি, তিনি শীঘ্রই তাদের পক্ষে অন্যায়ের প্রতিকার করবেন। কিন্তু মনুষ্যপুত্র যখন আসবেন, তখন কি পৃথিবীতে বিশ্বাস দেখতে পাবেন?
9 And to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised all others, he spoke this parable:
৯যারা নিজেদের মনে করত যে তারাই ধার্মিক এবং অন্য সবাইকে তুচ্ছ করত, এমন কয়েকজনকে তিনি এই গল্প বললেন।
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
১০দুই ব্যক্তি প্রার্থনা করার জন্য মন্দির গেল; একজন ফরীশী, আর একজন কর আদায়কারী।
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed by himself thus: O God, I thank thee that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
১১ফরীশী দাঁড়িয়ে নিজের বিষয়ে এই প্রার্থনা করল, হে ঈশ্বর, আমি তোমার ধন্যবাদ করি যে, আমি অন্য সব লোকের মতো ঠগ, অসৎ ও ব্যভিচারীদের মতো কিংবা ঐ কর আদায়কারীর মতো নই;
12 I fast twice in the week; I give tithes of all that I gain.
১২আমি সপ্তাহের মধ্যে দুবার উপবাস করি, সমস্ত আয়ের দশমাংশ দান করি।
13 But the publican, standing afar off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven; but smote his breast, saying, O God, be merciful to me a sinner!
১৩কিন্তু কর আদায়কারী দূরে দাঁড়িয়ে স্বর্গের দিকে চোখ তুলতেও সাহস পেল না, বরং সে বুক চাপড়াতে চাপড়াতে বলল, হে ঈশ্বর, আমার প্রতি, এই পাপীর প্রতি দয়া কর।
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for every one that exalteth himself will be humbled; but he that humbleth himself will be exalted.
১৪আমি তোমাদের বলছি, এই ব্যক্তি ধার্মিক বলে গণ্য হয়ে নিজ বাড়িতে চলে গেল, ঐ ব্যক্তি ধার্মিক নয়; কারণ যে কেউ নিজেকে উঁচু করে, তাকে নীচু করা যাবে; কিন্তু যে নিজেকে নীচু করে, তাকে উঁচু করা যাবে।
15 And they brought to him infants also, that he might touch them; and the disciples, on seeing it, rebuked them.
১৫আর লোকেরা নিজেদের ছোট শিশুদেরও তাঁর কাছে আনল, যেন তিনি তাদের স্পর্শ করেন। শিষ্যেরা তা দেখে তাদের ধমক দিতে লাগলেন।
16 But Jesus called them to him, saying, Suffer the little children to come to me, and forbid them not; for to such belongeth the kingdom of God.
১৬কিন্তু যীশু তাদের কাছে ডাকলেন, বললেন, “শিশুদের আমার কাছে আসতে দাও, ওদের বারণ কর না, কারণ ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য এদের মত লোকদেরই।
17 Truly do I say to you, Whoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, will not enter therein.
১৭আমি তোমাদের সত্য বলছি, যে কেউ শিশুর মতো হয়ে ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য গ্রহণ না করে, তবে সে কখনই ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে প্রবেশ করতে পারবে না।”
18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good teacher, what shall I do to inherit everlasting life? (aiōnios g166)
১৮একজন তত্ত্বাবধায়ক তাঁকে জিজ্ঞাসা করল, “হে সৎগুরু, অনন্ত জীবন পেতে হোলে আমাকে কি কি করতে হবে?” (aiōnios g166)
19 And Jesus said to him, Why dost thou call me good? None is good but one, that is, God.
১৯যীশু তাকে বললেন, “আমাকে সৎ কেন বলছো? ঈশ্বর ছাড়া আর কেউ সৎ নয়।”
20 Thou knowest the commandments: “Do not commit adultery; Do not kill; Do not steal; Do not bear false witness; Honor thy father and thy mother.”
২০তুমি শাস্ত্রের আদেশ সকল জান, “ব্যভিচার কর না, মানুষ খুন কর না, চুরি কর না, মিথ্যা সাক্ষ্য দিও না, তোমার বাবা মাকে সম্মান করো।”
21 And he said, All these have I kept from my youth.
২১সে বলল, “ছোট থেকে এই সব পালন করে আসছি।”
22 And Jesus hearing this said to him, One thing thou still lackest: sell all that thou hast, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.
২২একথা শুনে যীশু তাকে বললেন, “এখনও একটি বিষয়ে তোমার ভুল আছে; তোমার যা কিছু আছে, সব বিক্রি করে গরিবদের দান কর, তাতে স্বর্গে ধন পাবে; আর এস, আমাকে অনুসরণ কর।”
23 But when he heard this, he became very sorrowful; for he was very rich.
২৩কিন্তু একথা শুনে সে খুব দুঃখিত হল, কারণ সে অনেক সম্পত্তির লোক ছিল।
24 And Jesus seeing him said, How hardly do they that have riches enter the kingdom of God!
২৪তখন তার দিকে তাকিয়ে যীশু বললেন, “যারা ধনী তাদের পক্ষে ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে প্রবেশ করা অনেক কঠিন!”
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
২৫“ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে ধনবানের প্রবেশ করার থেকে বরং সুচের ছিদ্র দিয়ে উটের প্রবেশ করা সহজ।”
26 And those who heard this said, Who then can be saved?
২৬যারা শুনল, তারা বলল, “তবে কে রক্ষা পেতে পারে?”
27 But he said, What is impossible with men is possible with God.
২৭তিনি বললেন, “যা মানুষের কাছে অসাধ্য তা ঈশ্বরের পক্ষে সবই সম্ভব।”
28 Then Peter said, Lo! we left what we had, and followed thee.
২৮তখন পিতর তাঁকে বললেন, “দেখুন, আমারা যা আমাদের নিজের ছিল, সে সবকিছু ছেড়ে আপনার অনুসরণকারী হয়েছি।”
29 And he said to them, Truly do I say to you, There is no one that hath left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God,
২৯তিনি তাদের বললেন, “আমি তোমাদের সত্য বলছি, এমন কেউ নেই, যে ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যের জন্য বাড়ি কি স্ত্রী কি ভাইদের কি বাবা মা কি ছেলে মেয়েদের ত্যাগ করলে,
31 And taking the twelve aside, he said to them, Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all that hath been written by the prophets concerning the Son of man will be accomplished.
৩১পরে তিনি সেই বারো জনকে কাছে নিয়ে তাদের বললেন, দেখ, আমরা যিরুশালেমে যাচ্ছি; আর ভাববাদীদের মাধ্যমে যা যা লেখা হয়েছে, সে সব মানবপুত্রে পূর্ণ হবে।
32 For he will be delivered up to the gentiles, and will be mocked, and insulted, and spit upon;
৩২কারণ তিনি অইহূদির লোকদের হাতে সমর্পিত হবেন এবং লোকেরা তাঁকে ঠাট্টা করবে, তাঁকে অপমান করবে, তাঁর গায়ে থুথু দেবে;
33 and they will scourge him, and put him to death; and the third day he will rise again.
৩৩এবং চাবুক দিয়ে মেরে তাঁকে মেরে ফেলবে; পরে তিন দিনের র দিন তিনি পুনরায় উঠবেন।
34 And they understood none of these things; and the meaning of these words was hidden from them, and they did not comprehend what was said.
৩৪এসবের কিছুই তাঁরা বুঝলেন না, এই কথা তাদের থেকে গোপন থাকল এবং কি কি বলা হচ্ছে, তা তারা বুঝে উঠতে পারল না।
35 And it came to pass, as he drew near to Jericho, that a certain blind man was sitting by the wayside begging.
৩৫আর যখন যীশু এবং তাঁর শিষ্যরা যিরীহোর কাছে আসলেন, একজন অন্ধ পথের পাশে বসে ভিক্ষা করছিল;
36 And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what this meant.
৩৬সে লোকদের যাওয়ার শব্দ শুনে জিজ্ঞাসা করল, এর কারণ কি?
37 And they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.
৩৭লোকে তাকে বলল, নাসরতীয় যীশু সেখান দিয়ে যাচ্ছেন।
38 And he cried out, saying, Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!
৩৮তখন সে চিৎকার করে বলল, হে যীশু, দায়ূদ-সন্তান, আমাদের প্রতি দয়া করুন।
39 And they who went before sharply bade him hold his peace. But he cried out the more, Son of David, have pity on me!
৩৯যারা আগে আগে যাচ্ছিল, তারা চুপ করো বলে তাকে ধমক দিল, কিন্তু সে আরও জোরে চেঁচাতে লাগল, হে দায়ূদ-সন্তান, আমার প্রতি দয়া করুন।
40 And Jesus stopped, and ordered him to be brought to him. And when he had come near, he asked him,
৪০তখন যীশু থেমে গিয়ে তাকে তাঁর কাছে আনতে আদেশ করলেন; পরে সে কাছে আসলে যীশু তাকে বললেন, তুমি কি চাও?
41 What dost thou wish me to do for thee? And he said, Lord, to restore my sight.
৪১আমি তোমার জন্য কি করব? সে বলল, প্রভু, আমি দেখতে চাই।
42 And Jesus said to him, Receive thy sight; thy faith hath saved thee.
৪২যীশু তাকে বললেন, দেখ; তোমার বিশ্বাস তোমাকে সুস্থ করল।
43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, giving glory to God; and all the people on seeing it gave praise to God.
৪৩তাতে সে তক্ষুনি দেখতে পেল এবং ঈশ্বরের গৌরব করতে করতে তাঁর পিছন পিছন চলল। তা দেখে সব লোক ঈশ্বরের স্তব করল।
