< Luke 15 >
1 And all the publicans and the sinners were drawing near to him, to hear him.
Na rĩrĩ, etia mbeeca cia igooti na “ehia” othe nĩmoonganaga harĩ we nĩguo mamũigue.
2 And the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
No Afarisai na arutani a watho magĩteta makiuga atĩrĩ, “Mũndũ ũyũ nĩamũkagĩra ehia na akarĩĩanĩra nao.”
3 And he spoke to them this parable, saying,
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Jesũ akĩmahe ngerekano ĩno akĩmeera atĩrĩ:
4 What man of you having a hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he findeth it?
“Mũndũ ũmwe wanyu angĩkorwo na ngʼondu igana rĩmwe, na ĩmwe yacio yũre-rĩ, githĩ ndatigaga icio mĩrongo kenda na kenda kũu werũ-inĩ, athiĩ agacarie ĩyo ĩmwe yũrĩte, nginya amĩone?
5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
Na aarĩkia kũmĩona, akamĩigĩrĩra ciande ciake akenete,
6 And when he hath come home, he calleth together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.
akainũka mũciĩ. Agacooka ageeta arata ake na andũ a itũũra hamwe, akameera atĩrĩ, ‘Ũkai tũkenanĩre nĩ ũndũ nĩnyonete ngʼondu yakwa ĩrĩa ĩrorĩte.’
7 I say to you, that in like manner there will be joy in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety-nine righteous men who have no need of repentance.
Ngũmwĩra atĩrĩ, ũguo noguo kũgĩaga gĩkeno kĩnene igũrũ nĩ ũndũ wa mũndũ ũmwe mwĩhia wĩrirĩte, gũkĩra ũrĩa gũkenagwo nĩ ũndũ wa andũ mĩrongo kenda na kenda athingu arĩa matabatarĩtio nĩ kwĩrira.
8 Or what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a lamp, and sweep the house, and search carefully till she findeth it?
“Kana mũtumia angĩkorwo arĩ na icunjĩ ikũmi cia betha, ĩmwe yacio yũre-rĩ, githĩ ndagwatagia tawa, akahaata nyũmba yothe, na akamĩcaria na kĩyo o nginya amĩone?
9 And when she hath found it, she calleth together her friends and neighbors, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I lost.
Na amĩona-rĩ, ageeta arata ake o na andũ a itũũra hamwe, akameera atĩrĩ, ‘Ũkai tũkenanĩre tondũ nĩnyonete mbeeca yakwa ĩrĩa ĩrorĩte.’
10 I say to you, that thus there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
Ngũmwĩra atĩrĩ, ũguo noguo gũkoragwo na gĩkeno harĩ araika a Ngai nĩ ũndũ wa mwĩhia ũmwe wĩrirĩte.”
11 He said also, A certain man had two sons.
Jesũ agĩthiĩ na mbere akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Nĩ kwarĩ na mũndũ ũmwe warĩ na ariũ eerĩ.
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of the property that falleth to me. And he divided to them his living.
Ũrĩa mũnini akĩĩra ithe atĩrĩ, ‘Baba ngaĩra igai rĩrĩa rĩngĩgatuĩka rĩakwa.’ Nĩ ũndũ ũcio ithe akĩmagayania indo ciake.
13 And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, and went abroad into a far country; and there wasted his substance in riotous living.
“Na matukũ manini mathira, mũriũ ũcio mũnini agĩcookanĩrĩria indo ciake ciothe, akiumagara agĩthiĩ bũrũri warĩ kũraya, na arĩ kũu agĩitanga indo ciake na mũtũũrĩre wa ũmaramari.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a great famine in that country; and he began to be in want.
Nake aarĩkia kũhũthĩra indo ciake ciothe, gũkĩgĩa na ngʼaragu nene kũu bũrũri ũcio wothe, nake akĩambĩrĩria gũthĩĩnĩka.
15 And he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio agĩthiĩ kũũria wĩra kũrĩ mũndũ ũmwe wa bũrũri ũcio, nake akĩmũtwara akarĩithagie ngũrwe gĩthaka-inĩ gĩake.
16 And he longed to fill himself with the husks that the swine ate; and no one gave to him.
Nĩeriragĩria kwĩhũũnia na makoro marĩa maarĩĩagwo nĩ ngũrwe icio tondũ gũtirĩ mũndũ wamũheaga kĩndũ gĩa kũrĩa.
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish here with hunger!
“Na rĩrĩa ecookerire, akiuga atĩrĩ, ‘Nĩ ndungata ciigana atĩa cia baba irĩ na irio cia gũciigana o na igatigara, na niĩ nguagĩre gũkũ nĩ ngʼaragu!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and before thee;
Nĩngũũkĩra thiĩ kũrĩ baba ngamwĩre atĩrĩ: Baba, nĩnjĩhĩirie Ngai na ngakwĩhĩria.
19 I am no longer worthy to be called thy son; make me as one of thy hired servants.
Ndĩagĩrĩirwo nĩgũcooka gwĩtagwo mũrũguo rĩngĩ; ndua ta ndungata ĩmwe yaku.’
20 And he arose, and went to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21 And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and before thee; I am no longer worthy to be called thy son.
“Nake mũriũ akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, ‘Baba, nĩnjĩhĩirie Ngai o na ngakwĩhĩria. Ndiagĩrĩirwo nĩgũcooka gwĩtagwo mũrũguo rĩngĩ.’
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring out the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and sandals on his feet.
“No ithe akĩĩra ndungata ciake atĩrĩ, ‘Thiĩi narua mũrehe nguo ĩrĩa njega mũno mũmũhumbe, na mũmwĩkĩre gĩcũhĩ kĩara, na iraatũ magũrũ.
23 And bring the fatted calf; kill it, and let us eat and make merry.
Ningĩ mũrehe njaũ ya gĩcegũ ĩrĩa noru mũmĩthĩnje. Mũreke tũgĩe na iruga na tũkũngũĩre.
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to make merry.
Nĩgũkorwo mũriũ ũyũ wakwa ararĩ mũkuũ na nĩariũkĩte; nĩarorĩte na rĩu nĩonekete.’ Nĩ ũndũ ũcio makĩambĩrĩria gũkũngũĩra.
25 Now his elder son was in the field; and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.
“Na rĩrĩ, hĩndĩ ĩyo mũriũ ũrĩa mũkũrũ aarĩ mũgũnda. Na rĩrĩa aakuhĩrĩirie mũciĩ akĩinũka-rĩ, akĩigua gũkĩinwo nyĩmbo na ndũhiũ.
26 And calling one of the servants, he inquired what these things meant.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio mũriũ ũcio agĩĩta ndungata ĩmwe ya mũciĩ, akĩmĩũria gĩtũmi kĩa maũndũ macio.
27 And he said to him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
Nayo ndungata ĩyo ĩkĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, ‘Mũrũ wa maitũguo nĩokĩte, nake thoguo nĩamũthĩnjĩire njaũ ya gĩcegũ ĩrĩa noru, tondũ nĩamũcookereire arĩ mwega na arĩ mũgima.’
28 But he was angry, and would not go in; and his father came out, and entreated him.
“Mũrũ wa nyina ũcio mũkũrũ akĩrakara na akĩrega gũtoonya nyũmba. Nĩ ũndũ ũcio ithe akiuma nja, akĩmũthaitha atoonye thĩinĩ.
29 And he answering said to his father, Lo! for so many years have I served thee, and never transgressed thy command; and yet to me thou never gavest a kid, that I might make merry with my friends.
No akĩĩra ithe atĩrĩ, ‘Ta thikĩrĩria! Ndũire ngũrutagĩra wĩra mĩaka ĩyo yothe, na ndirĩ ndarega gũgwathĩkĩra. No rĩrĩ, ndũrĩ waahe o na koori nĩguo tũkũngũĩre na arata akwa.
30 But as soon as this thy son came, who devoured thy living with harlots, thou didst kill for him the fatted calf.
No rĩrĩa mũrũguo ũyũ ũitangĩte indo ciaku na maraya ainũka, ũkamũthĩnjĩra njaũ ya gĩcegũ ĩrĩa noru!’
31 And he said to him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
“Ithe akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, ‘Mũrũ wakwa, wee tũtũũraga nawe hĩndĩ ciothe, na indo ciothe iria ndĩ nacio nĩ ciaku.
32 It was meet that we should make merry and be glad; for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.
