Luke 10
1 After these things, the Lord appointed also seventy others, and sent them two and two before him into every city and place where he himself was about to come.
Or, après ces choses, le Seigneur en désigna soixante-dix autres, et les envoya deux par deux devant lui dans toutes les villes et dans tous les lieux où il allait venir.
2 And he said to them, The harvest is great, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers for his harvest.
Puis il leur dit: « La moisson est abondante, mais les ouvriers sont peu nombreux. Priez donc le maître de la moisson, afin qu'il envoie des ouvriers dans sa moisson.
3 Go forth; lo! I send you as lambs into the midst of wolves.
Allez par là. Voici, je vous envoie comme des agneaux au milieu des loups.
4 Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; salute no one by the way.
Ne portez ni bourse, ni porte-monnaie, ni sandales. Ne saluez personne en chemin.
5 And into whatever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
Dans quelque maison que vous entriez, dites d'abord: « Que la paix soit avec cette maison ».
6 And if a son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it; if not, it shall return to you.
S'il s'y trouve un fils de paix, votre paix reposera sur lui; sinon, elle reviendra à vous.
7 And abide in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give; for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house.
Reste dans cette même maison, mange et bois ce qu'on te donne, car l'ouvrier mérite son salaire. Ne va pas de maison en maison.
8 And into whatever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat what is set before you,
Dans quelque ville que vous entriez et où l'on vous reçoit, mangez ce qui vous est présenté.
9 and heal the sick that are therein, and say to them, The kingdom of God hath come near to you.
Guérissez les malades qui sont là et dites-leur: « Le Royaume de Dieu s'est approché de vous ».
10 But into whatever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go out into its streets and say,
Mais dans quelque ville que vous entriez, et où l'on ne vous recevra pas, sortez dans ses rues et dites:
11 Even the dust of your city that cleaveth to our feet we wipe off to you; but know this, that the kingdom of God hath come near.
« Nous essuyons contre vous la poussière de votre ville qui s'est attachée à nous. Mais sachez que le Royaume de Dieu s'est approché de vous ».
12 And I tell you, that it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
Je vous le dis, en ce jour-là, il sera plus supportable pour Sodome que pour cette ville.
13 Woe to thee, Chorazin! woe to thee, Bethsaida! for if the miracles that were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
« Malheur à toi, Chorazin! Malheur à toi, Bethsaïda! Car s'il s'était fait à Tyr et à Sidon les miracles qui ont été faits chez vous, il y a longtemps qu'elles se seraient repenties, assises sur le sac et la cendre.
14 But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment, than for you.
Mais, au jugement, Tyr et Sidon seront plus tolérables que vous.
15 And thou, Capernaum! shalt thou be exalted to heaven? thou shalt be brought down to the underworld. (Hadēs g86)
Toi, Capharnaüm, qui es élevée jusqu'au ciel, tu seras abaissée jusqu'au séjour des morts. (Hadēs g86)
16 He that hearkeneth to you, hearkeneth to me; and he that rejecteth you, rejecteth me; but he that rejecteth me, rejecteth him that sent me.
Celui qui vous écoute m'écoute, et celui qui vous rejette me rejette. Celui qui me rejette rejette celui qui m'a envoyé. »
17 And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in thy name.
Les soixante-dix revinrent avec joie, disant: « Seigneur, même les démons nous sont soumis en ton nom! ».
18 And he said to them, I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning.
Il leur dit: « J'ai vu Satan tomber du ciel comme un éclair.
19 Lo! I have given you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the might of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Voici, je vous donne le pouvoir de marcher sur les serpents et les scorpions, et sur toute la puissance de l'ennemi. Rien ne pourra vous faire du mal.
20 Yet rejoice not in this, that the spirits are subject to you; but rejoice that your names have been written in heaven.
Cependant, ne vous réjouissez pas de ce que les esprits vous sont soumis, mais réjouissez-vous de ce que vos noms sont inscrits dans les cieux. »
21 In that hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that, though thou didst hide these things from the wise and discerning, thou didst reveal them to babes. Yea, Father, for so it seemed good in thy sight. And turning to the disciples he said,
A cette même heure, Jésus se réjouit dans l'Esprit Saint et dit: « Je te rends grâce, ô Père, Seigneur du ciel et de la terre, d'avoir caché ces choses aux sages et aux intelligents, et de les avoir révélées aux petits enfants. Oui, Père, car c'est ainsi qu'il a été agréable à tes yeux. »
22 All things were delivered to me by my Father; and no one knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom it is the will of the Son to reveal him.
Se tournant vers les disciples, il dit: « Toutes choses m'ont été remises par mon Père. Personne ne sait qui est le Fils, si ce n'est le Père, et qui est le Père, si ce n'est le Fils, et celui à qui le Fils veut le révéler. »
23 And turning to the disciples, he said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye are seeing.
Se tournant vers les disciples, il leur dit en privé: « Heureux les yeux qui voient les choses que vous voyez,
24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which ye are seeing, and saw them not; and to hear the things which ye are hearing, and heard them not.
car je vous dis que beaucoup de prophètes et de rois ont désiré voir les choses que vous voyez, et ne les ont pas vues, et entendre les choses que vous entendez, et ne les ont pas entendues. »
25 And lo! a certain lawyer stood up to try him, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit everlasting life? (aiōnios g166)
Voici qu'un docteur de la loi se leva et l'éprouva, disant: « Maître, que dois-je faire pour hériter la vie éternelle? » (aiōnios g166)
26 And he said to him, What is written in the Law? How readest thou?
Il lui dit: « Qu'est-ce qui est écrit dans la loi? Comment la lis-tu? »
27 And he answering said “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.”
Il répondit: « Tu aimeras le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout ton cœur, de toute ton âme, de toute ta force et de toute ta pensée, et ton prochain comme toi-même. »
28 And he said to him, Thou hast answered rightly; do this, and thou shalt live.
Il lui dit: « Tu as bien répondu. Fais ceci, et tu vivras. »
29 But he, wishing to justify himself, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor?
Mais lui, voulant se justifier, demanda à Jésus: « Qui est mon prochain? »
30 Jesus answering said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers; who after stripping him of his raiment, and wounding him, departed, leaving him half dead.
Jésus répondit: « Un homme descendait de Jérusalem à Jéricho. Il tomba au milieu de brigands qui le dépouillèrent, le battirent, puis s'en allèrent, le laissant à demi mort.
31 And by chance a certain priest was going down on that road; and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
Par hasard, un prêtre descendait par là. Il le vit et passa de l'autre côté.
32 And in like manner also a Levite, having arrived at the place, came and saw, and passed by on the other side.
De même, un lévite, qui était arrivé à cet endroit et l'avait vu, passa de l'autre côté.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he was journeying, came where he was, and when he saw him, had compassion,
Mais un Samaritain, qui était en voyage, arriva là où il était. Quand il le vit, il fut ému de compassion,
34 and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine, and setting him on his own beast, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
s'approcha de lui, pansa ses plaies, et versa de l'huile et du vin. Il le fit monter sur sa propre bête, le conduisit dans une auberge, et prit soin de lui.
35 And the next day, he took out two denaries and gave them to the host, and said, Take care of him; and whatever thou spendest more, I, when I come back, will repay thee.
Le lendemain, en partant, il prit deux deniers, les donna à l'hôte, et lui dit: « Prends soin de lui. Tout ce que tu dépenseras au-delà, je te le rendrai à mon retour ».
36 Which of these three, dost thou think, was neighbor to him that fell among the robbers?
Maintenant, lequel de ces trois vous semble être le prochain de celui qui est tombé au milieu des brigands? »
37 And he said, He that took pity on him. Then said Jesus to him, Go, and do thou likewise.
Il a dit: « Celui qui a eu pitié de lui. » Alors Jésus lui dit: « Va et fais de même. »
38 And it came to pass, as they journeyed, that he entered into a certain village; and a certain woman, named Martha, received him into her house.
Comme ils continuaient leur chemin, il entra dans un village, et une femme, nommée Marthe, le reçut dans sa maison.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat down at the feet of the Lord, and listened to his word.
Elle avait une sœur, nommée Marie, qui était aussi assise aux pieds de Jésus et écoutait sa parole.
40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving; and she came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? Tell her therefore to help me.
Mais Marthe, distraite par le service, s'approcha de Jésus et lui dit: « Seigneur, ne te soucie-tu pas que ma sœur m'ait laissée seule à servir? Demande-lui donc de m'aider. »
41 But the Lord answering said to her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and troubled about many things.
Jésus lui répondit: « Marthe, Marthe, tu es inquiète et troublée par beaucoup de choses,
42 But one thing is needful. For Mary hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
mais une seule chose est nécessaire. Marie a choisi la bonne part, qui ne lui sera pas enlevée. »
