Luke 1
1 Inasmuch as many have undertaken to arrange a narrative of those things which are fully believed among us,
Քանի շատեր ձեռնարկեցին կարգի դնել մեր մէջ հաստատ գիտցուած բաներուն պատմութիւնը,
2 even as they were delivered to us by those who were eye-witnesses from the beginning and became ministers of the word,
ինչպէս սկիզբէն աւանդեցին մեզի ականատես վկաները եւ խօսքին սպասաւորները,
3 it seemed good to me also, having accurately traced up all things from the first, to write to thee a connected account, most excellent Theophilus,
ինծի՛ ալ՝ որ սկիզբէն հետեւած էի այդ բոլոր բաներուն՝ յարմար թուեցաւ կարգով գրել քեզի, պատուակա՛ն Թէոփիլոս,
4 that thou mightst know the exact truth with regard to those things in which thou wast instructed.
որպէսզի գիտնաս ստոյգը այն բաներուն մասին՝ որոնց համաձայն կրթուեցար:
5 There was in the days of Herod, king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zachariah, of the course of Abijah; and he had a wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.
Հրէաստանի Հերովդէս թագաւորին օրերը՝ Աբիայի դասէն Զաքարիա անունով քահանայ մը կար, որուն կինը Ահարոնի աղջիկներէն էր, անունը՝ Եղիսաբէթ:
6 And they were both righteous in the sight of God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
Երկուքն ալ Աստուծոյ առջեւ արդար էին, անմեղադրելի կերպով ընթանալով Տէրոջ բոլոր պատուիրաններուն եւ կանոններուն համաձայն:
7 And they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both far advanced in years.
Զաւակ չունէին, որովհետեւ Եղիսաբէթ ամուլ էր, ու երկուքն ալ յառաջացած տարիք ունէին:
8 And it came to pass, that, while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his course,
Մինչ ան՝ իր դասին օրերը հասնելուն համար՝ քահանայութիւն կը կատարէր Աստուծոյ առջեւ,
9 according to the custom of the priesthood the lot fell to him to go into the temple of the Lord and burn the incense.
քահանայութեան սովորութեան համաձայն՝ իրեն վիճակուեցաւ Տէրոջ տաճարը մտնել եւ խունկ ծխել:
10 And the whole multitude of the people was praying without at the time of the incense.
Ժողովուրդին ամբողջ բազմութիւնը դուրսը աղօթքի կայնած էր՝ խունկի ժամուն:
11 And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord, standing on the right of the altar of incense.
Այդ ատեն Տէրոջ հրեշտակը երեւցաւ անոր, ու կայնեցաւ խունկի զոհասեղանին աջ կողմը:
12 And Zachariah was troubled at the sight, and fear fell upon him.
Երբ Զաքարիա տեսաւ՝ վրդովեցաւ, եւ վախը համակեց զինք՝՝:
13 But the angel said to him, Fear not, Zachariah; for thy prayer was heard, and thy wife Elizabeth shall bear thee a son; and thou shalt call his name John.
Հրեշտակը ըսաւ անոր. «Մի՛ վախնար, Զաքարիա՛, որովհետեւ քու աղերսանքդ ընդունուեցաւ: Կինդ՝ Եղիսաբէթ որդի մը պիտի ծնանի քեզի, եւ անոր անունը Յովհաննէս պիտի կոչես:
14 And thou wilt have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice for his birth.
Քեզի ուրախութիւն ու ցնծութիւն պիտի ըլլայ, եւ շատեր պիտի ուրախանան անոր ծնունդին համար.
15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord; and will drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit from his very birth.
որովհետեւ Տէրոջ առջեւ մեծ պիտի ըլլայ: Ո՛չ գինի պիտի խմէ, ո՛չ ալ օղի, ու դեռ իր մօր որովայնէն Սուրբ Հոգիով պիտի լեցուի,
16 And many of the sons of Israel will he turn to the Lord their God.
եւ Իսրայէլի որդիներէն շատերը պիտի դարձնէ Տէրոջ՝ իրենց Աստուծոյն:
17 And he will go before his face in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of fathers to children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous, to make ready for the Lord a prepared people.
Ինք պիտի գայ անոր առջեւէն՝ Եղիայի հոգիով ու զօրութեամբ, հայրերուն սիրտը վերադարձնելու դէպի զաւակները, եւ անհնազանդները՝ արդարներուն իմաստութեան, որպէսզի պատրաստէ Տէրոջ բարեյօժար ժողովուրդ մը»:
18 And Zachariah said to the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife is far advanced in years.
Զաքարիա ըսաւ հրեշտակին. «Ի՞նչպէս գիտնամ ատիկա, որովհետեւ ես ծեր եմ, ու կինս յառաջացած տարիք ունի»:
19 And the angel answering said to him, I am Gabriel, who stand in the presence of God; and I was sent to speak to thee, and to tell thee these glad tidings.
Հրեշտակը պատասխանեց անոր. «Ես Գաբրիէլն եմ՝ որ կը կայնիմ Աստուծոյ առջեւ, ու ղրկուեցայ քեզի՝ խօսելու եւ այս բաները քեզի աւետելու:
20 And lo! thou shalt be silent, and not able to speak, until the day when these things shall come to pass, because thou didst not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their season.
Ահա՛ դուն համր պիտի ըլլաս, ու պիտի չկարենաս խօսիլ մինչեւ այն օրը՝ երբ այս բաները ըլլան, քանի որ չհաւատացիր իմ խօսքերուս՝ որոնք պիտի իրագործուին իրենց ատենին»:
21 And the people were looking for Zachariah, and wondering that he remained so long in the temple.
Ժողովուրդը կը սպասէր Զաքարիայի, եւ կը զարմանային որ ան կ՚ուշանար տաճարին մէջ:
22 And on coming out, he was not able to speak to them; and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple; and he was beckoning to them, and remained speechless.
Երբ դուրս ելաւ՝ չէր կրնար խօսիլ անոնց հետ. ուստի ըմբռնեցին թէ տեսիլք մը տեսած է տաճարին մէջ: Եւ ինք նշան կ՚ընէր անոնց, ու համր կը մնար:
23 And it came to pass, when the days of his ministration were completed, that he returned to his house.
Երբ իր պաշտօնին օրերը լրացան՝ իր տունը գնաց:
24 And after those days his wife Elizabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,
Այդ օրերէն ետք անոր կինը՝ Եղիսաբէթ յղացաւ, եւ հինգ ամիս կը պահուըտէր ու կ՚ըսէր.
25 Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me to take away my reproach among men.
«Ա՛յսպէս ըրաւ ինծի Տէրը՝ այս օրերուս, որ իմ վրաս նայեցաւ՝ նախատինքս մարդոց մէջէն վերցնելու համար»:
26 And in her sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee, called Nazareth,
Վեցերորդ ամսուան մէջ՝ Գաբրիէլ հրեշտակը Աստուծմէ ղրկուեցաւ Գալիլեայի մէկ քաղաքը, որուն անունը Նազարէթ էր,
27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
կոյսի մը՝ մարդու մը նշանուած, որուն անունը Յովսէփ էր, Դաւիթի տունէն. այդ կոյսին անունը Մարիամ էր:
28 And the angel came in to her and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored! the Lord is with thee.
Հրեշտակը անոր քով մտնելով՝ ըսաւ. «Ողջո՜յն, շնորհընկալ կոյս, Տէրը քեզի հետ է: Դուն կիներուն մէջ օրհնեա՜լ ես»:
29 And she was troubled at the words, and was considering what this salutation could mean.
Տեսնելով զայն՝ շփոթեցաւ անոր խօսքէն, եւ ինքնիրեն կը մտածէր թէ ի՛նչ տեսակ բարեւ էր ատիկա:
30 And the angel said to her, Fear not, Mary; for thou hast found favor with God.
Հրեշտակը ըսաւ անոր. «Մի՛ վախնար, Մարիա՛մ, որովհետեւ շնորհք գտար Աստուծոյ քով:
31 And lo! thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and hear a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
Ահա՛ պիտի յղանաս որովայնիդ մէջ ու որդի մը պիտի ծնանիս, եւ անոր անունը Յիսուս պիտի կոչես:
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of David his father;
Ան մեծ պիտի ըլլայ ու Ամենաբարձրին Որդին պիտի կոչուի: Տէր Աստուած անոր պիտի տայ իր հօր՝ Դաւիթի գահը,
33 and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (aiōn g165)
եւ Յակոբի տան վրայ յաւիտեան պիտի թագաւորէ: Անոր թագաւորութիւնը վախճան պիտի չունենայ»: (aiōn g165)
34 Then said Mary to the angel, How shall this be, since I know not a man?
Մարիամ ըսաւ հրեշտակին. «Ի՞նչպէս պիտի ըլլայ այդ բանը, քանի որ ես այր մարդ չեմ գիտեր»:
35 And the angel answering said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon thee, and the power of the Most High will overshadow thee; wherefore the holy one that is to be born will be called the Son of God.
Հրեշտակը պատասխանեց անոր. «Սուրբ Հոգին պիտի գայ վրադ, ու Ամենաբարձրին զօրութիւնը հովանի պիտի ըլլայ քեզի. ուստի այն սուրբը որ քեզմէ պիտի ծնի՝ Աստուծոյ Որդի պիտի կոչուի:
36 And lo! Elizabeth, thy kinswoman, she also hath conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her who is called barren.
Ահա՛ քու ազգականդ՝ Եղիսաբէթ, ի՛նք ալ՝ իր ծերութեան ատեն՝ որդիով մը յղի է. եւ ասիկա վեցերորդ ամիսն է անոր՝ որ ամուլ կոչուած էր.
37 For nothing will be impossible with God.
որովհետեւ ոչինչ անկարելի է Աստուծոյ»:
38 And Mary said, Lo, the handmaid of the Lord! May it be to me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
Մարիամ ըսաւ. «Ահա՛ ես Տէրոջ աղախինն եմ, քու խօսքիդ համաձայն թող ըլլայ ինծի»: Ու հրեշտակը գնաց անոր քովէն:
39 And Mary arose and went in those days into the hill-country with haste, into a city of Judah.
Այդ օրերը Մարիամ կանգնեցաւ, փութալով գնաց լեռնակողմը՝ Յուդայի մէկ քաղաքը,
40 And she entered the house of Zachariah, and saluted Elizabeth.
մտաւ Զաքարիայի տունը եւ բարեւեց Եղիսաբէթը:
41 And it came to pass, when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit,
Երբ Եղիսաբէթ լսեց Մարիամի բարեւը, երախան խայտաց անոր որովայնին մէջ. իսկ Եղիսաբէթ լեցուեցաւ Սուրբ Հոգիով,
42 and cried out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women; and blessed is the fruit of thy womb!
ու բարձրաձայն գոչելով ըսաւ. «Դուն օրհնեա՜լ ես կիներուն մէջ, եւ օրհնեա՜լ է որովայնիդ պտուղը:
43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
Այս ի՞նչպէս եղաւ, որ իմ Տէրոջս մայրը եկաւ ինծի.
44 For lo! as soon as the voice of thy salutation came to my ears, the babe leaped in my womb in exultation.
որովհետեւ ահա՛ երբ քու բարեւիդ ձայնը հասաւ ականջիս, երախան ցնծութենէն խայտաց որովայնիս մէջ:
45 And blessed is she who hath believed that there will be an accomplishment of those things which were told her from the Lord.
Երանի՜ անոր՝ որ հաւատացած է, որովհետեւ՝՝ պիտի կատարուին այն բաները՝ որոնք Տէրոջմէն ըսուեցան իրեն»:
46 And Mary said, My soul magnifieth the Lord,
Մարիամ ըսաւ. «Իմ անձս կը մեծարէ Տէրը,
47 and my spirit hath exulted in God my Saviour;
եւ իմ հոգիս ցնծաց իմ Փրկիչ Աստուծմովս,
48 for he hath looked upon the low estate of his handmaiden. For lo! from this time all generations will call me blessed;
քանի որ նայեցաւ իր աղախինին նուաստութեան. արդարեւ ահա՛ ասկէ ետք՝ բոլոր սերունդները երանելի պիտի կոչեն զիս,
49 for the Mighty One hath done great things for me; and holy is his name;
որովհետեւ Հզօրը մեծամեծ բաներ ըրաւ ինծի: Անոր անունը սուրբ է,
50 and his mercy is from generation to generation on them that fear him.
եւ անոր ողորմութիւնը իրմէ վախցողներուն վրայ է՝ սերունդէ սերունդ:
51 He hath wrought mightily with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the device of their heart.
Իր բազուկով զօրութիւն ցոյց տուաւ, ցրուեց ամբարտաւանները իրենց սիրտին երեւակայութեամբ:
52 He hath cast down princes from thrones, and exalted men of low degree.
Զօրաւորները իջեցուց իրենց գահերէն, ու բարձրացուց նուաստները:
53 The hungry he hath filled with good things, and the rich he hath sent away empty.
Անօթիները լիացուց բարիքներով, եւ պարապ ճամբեց հարուստները:
54 He hath given help to Israel his servant, in remembrance of his mercy
Օգնութեան հասաւ իր Իսրայէլ ծառային, յիշելով իր ողորմութիւնը
ինչպէս ինք խոստացած էր մեր հայրերուն - Աբրահամի եւ անոր զարմին հանդէպ՝ յաւիտեան»: (aiōn g165)
56 And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.
Մարիամ անոր քով մնաց՝ գրեթէ երեք ամիս, ապա վերադարձաւ իր տունը:
57 Now Elizabeth's full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son.
Եղիսաբէթի ծնանելու ժամանակը լրացաւ, ու որդի մը ծնաւ:
58 And her neighbors and her kinsfolk heard that the Lord had showed great mercy toward her; and they rejoiced with her.
Երբ լսեցին անոնք՝ որ կը բնակէին անոր շուրջը, նաեւ անոր ազգականները, թէ Տէրը մեծարած էր զայն իր ողորմութեամբ, անոր հետ ուրախացան:
59 And it came to pass that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they were about to call him Zachariah, after the name of his father.
Ութերորդ օրը եկան մանուկը թլփատելու, եւ Զաքարիա կը կոչէին զայն՝ իր հօր անունով:
60 And his mother answering said, Not so; but he shall be called John.
Իսկ անոր մայրը ըսաւ. «Ո՛չ, այլ՝ Յովհաննէս պիտի կոչուի»:
61 And they said to her, There is no one of thy kindred that is called by this name.
Իրեն ըսին. «Քու ազգականներուդ մէջ չկայ մէկը, որ այս անունով կոչուի»:
62 And they made signs to his father, how he would have him named.
Նշան ըրին անոր հօր թէ ի՛նչ անունով կ՚ուզէ որ ան կոչուի:
63 And he asked for a writing-tablet, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they all marveled.
Ինք ալ տախտակ մը ուզեց ու գրեց. «Յովհաննէս է անոր անունը»: Բոլորն ալ զարմացան:
64 And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue was loosed; and he spoke, blessing God.
Անմի՛ջապէս բացուեցաւ իր բերանը, նաեւ՝ լեզուն, ու խօսեցաւ եւ օրհնեց Աստուած:
65 And fear came on all that dwelt around them; and all these things were talked of throughout the whole of the hill-country of Judaea.
Վախը համակեց բոլոր անոնց շուրջը բնակողները, եւ այս բոլոր բաները կը պատմուէին Հրէաստանի ամբողջ լեռնակողմը:
66 And all that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What then will this child be? For the hand of the Lord was with him.
Բոլոր լսողները անոնց մասին կը մտածէին՝՝ ու կ՚ըսէին. «Արդեօք ի՞նչ պիտի ըլլայ այս մանուկը»: Եւ Տէրոջ ձեռքը անոր հետ էր:
67 And Zachariah his father was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying,
Անոր հայրը՝ Զաքարիա, Սուրբ Հոգիով լեցուած՝ մարգարէացաւ ու ըսաւ.
68 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel! for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
«Օրհնեա՜լ ըլլայ Տէրը, Իսրայէլի Աստուածը, որ այցելեց իր ժողովուրդին եւ ազատագրեց զայն:
69 and hath raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of David his servant, —
Մեզի փրկութեան եղջիւր մը հանեց իր Դաւիթ ծառային տունէն,
(ինչպէս խօսեցաւ սուրբերուն բերանով, որոնք դարերու սկիզբէն ի վեր անոր մարգարէներն էին, ) (aiōn g165)
71 salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us,
փրկութիւն տալու մեր թշնամիներէն ու բոլոր մեզ ատողներուն ձեռքէն,
72 to accomplish his mercy toward our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant,
իրագործելու մեր հայրերուն խոստացած ողորմութիւնը եւ յիշելու իր սուրբ ուխտը,
73 the oath which he swore to Abraham our father,
(այն երդումը որ մեր հօր՝ Աբրահամի ըրաւ, ) որպէսզի մեզի շնորհէ՝
74 to grant to us, that being delivered from the hand of our enemies, we might worship him without fear,
մեր թշնամիներուն ձեռքէն ազատելով՝ առանց վախի պաշտել զինք,
75 in holiness and righteousness before him, all our days.
սրբութեամբ եւ արդարութեամբ ընթանալով իր առջեւ՝ մեր կեանքին բոլոր օրերուն մէջ:
76 And thou, child, shalt be called a prophet of the Most High; for thou shalt go in advance before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways,
Իսկ դո՛ւն, մանո՛ւկ, Ամենաբարձրին մարգարէն պիտի կոչուիս, որովհետեւ “պիտի երթաս Տէրոջ առջեւէն՝ անոր ճամբաները պատրաստելու,
77 to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the remission of their sins
անոր ժողովուրդին գիտցնելու իրենց փրկութիւնը՝ իրենց մեղքերուն ներումով”,
78 through the tender mercy of our God, whereby the day-spring from on high hath visited us,
մեր Աստուծոյն գթառատ ողորմութեամբ, որով Ծագող արեւը բարձրէն այցելեց մեզի՝
79 to give light to those sitting in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
“փայլելու խաւարի եւ մահուան շուքի մէջ բնակողներուն վրայ”, ու մեր ոտքերը ուղղելու դէպի խաղաղութեան ճամբան»:
80 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit; and was in the deserts till the day of his manifestation to Israel.
Մանուկը կը մեծնար ու կը զօրանար հոգիով, եւ անապատներուն մէջ էր՝ մինչեւ այն օրը, երբ դարձեալ ցոյց տուաւ ինքզինք Իսրայէլի:
