Lamentations 3
1 I am the man that hath seen affliction under the rod of His wrath;
我はかれの震怒の笞によりて艱難に遭たる人なり
2 He hath led me and brought me into darkness, and not into light;
かれは我をひきて黑暗をあゆませ光明にゆかしめたまはず
3 Yea, against me doth he again and again turn his hand all the day long.
まことに屢々その手をむけて終日われを攻なやまし
4 My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.
わが肉と肌膚をおとろへしめ わが骨を摧き
5 He hath builded against me, and encompassed me with bitterness and woe.
われにむかひて患苦と艱難を築きこれをもて我を圍み
6 He hath set me in dark places, as those that have long been dead.
われをして長久に死し者のごとく暗き處に住しめ
7 He hath hedged me about, so that I cannot get out; he hath made my chain heavy;
我をかこみて出ること能はざらしめわが鏈索を重くしたまへり
8 Yea, when I cry and call aloud, he shutteth out my prayer.
我さけびて助をもとめしとき彼わが祈禱をふせぎ
9 He blocketh up my way with hewn stone; he maketh my paths crooked.
斫たる石をもてわが道を塞ぎわが途をまげたまへり
10 A bear lying in wait hath he been to me, a lion in lurking-places.
その我に對することは伏て伺がふ熊のごとく潜みかくるる獅子のごとし
11 He hath turned aside my ways, and torn me in pieces; he hath made me desolate.
われに路を離れしめ 我をひきさきて獨くるしましめ
12 He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
弓を張りてわれを矢先の的となし
13 He hath caused the sons of his quiver to pierce my reins.
矢筒の矢をもてわが腰を射ぬきたまへり
14 I have been a laughing-stock to all my people, their song all the day.
われはわがすべての民のあざけりとなり 終日うたひそしらる
15 He hath filled me with bitterness; he hath made me drunk with wormwood.
かれ我をして苦き物に飽しめ茵蔯を飮しめ
16 He hath also broken my teeth with gravel-stones; He hath covered me with ashes.
小石をもてわが齒を摧き灰をもて我を蒙ひたまへり
17 Yea, thou hast removed my soul far from peace; I have forgotten prosperity.
なんぢわが靈魂をして平和を遠くはなれしめたまへば我は福祉をわすれたり
18 And I say, “My confidence and my hope in Jehovah are gone!”
是において我みづから言り わが氣力うせゆきぬ ヱホバより何を望むべきところ無しと
19 Remember my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall!
ねがはくは我が艱難と苦楚茵蔯と膽汁とを心に記たまへ
20 Yea, thou wilt remember them, for my soul sinketh within me!
わがたましひは今なほ是らの事を想ひてわが衷に鬱ぐ
21 This I recall to my mind; therefore have I hope;
われこの事を心におもひ起せり この故に望をいだくなり
22 It is of the mercy of Jehovah that we are not consumed; yea, his compassion faileth not;
われらの尚ほろびざるはヱホバの仁愛によりその憐憫の盡ざるに因る
23 It is new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.
これは朝ごとに新なり なんぢの誠實はおほいなるかな
24 Jehovah is my portion, saith my soul, therefore do I hope in him.
わが靈魂は言ふ ヱホバはわが分なり このゆゑに我彼を待ち望まん
25 Jehovah is good to them that trust in him, to the soul that seeketh him.
ヱホバはおのれを待ち望む者とおのれを尋ねもとむる人に恩惠をほどこしたまふ
26 It is good that a man hope, and quietly wait for salvation from Jehovah.
ヱホバの救拯をのぞみて靜にこれを待は善し
27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth;
人わかき時に軛を負は善し
28 That he sit alone and keep silence, since He layeth it upon him;
ヱホバこれを負せたまふなれば獨坐して默すべし
29 That he put his mouth in the dust, [[saying to himself, ]] “Perhaps there may be hope!”
口を塵につけよ あるひは望あらん
30 That he offer his cheek to the smiter; that he be filled with reproach.
おのれを撃つ者に頬をむけ 充足れるまでに恥辱をうけよ
31 For the Lord will not cast off forever;
そは主は永久に棄ることを爲たまはざるべければなり
32 For though he cause grief, yet doth he have compassion according to his great mercy;
かれは患難を與へ給ふといへどもその慈悲おほいなればまた憐憫を加へたまふなり
33 For he doth not willingly afflict and grieve the children of men.
心より世の人をなやましかつ苦しめ給ふにはあらざるなり
34 Doth one trample under foot all the prisoners of the earth,
世のもろもろの俘囚人を脚の下にふみにじり
35 Doth he bend the right of a man before the face of the Most High,
至高者の面の前にて人の理を抂げ
36 Doth he subvert a man in his cause, and shall not the Lord behold it?
人の詞訟を屈むることは主のよろこび給はざるところなり
37 Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord hath not commanded?
主の命じたまふにあらずば誰か事を述んにその事即ち成んや
38 Cometh not evil, as well as good, from the mouth of the Most High?
禍も福もともに至高者の口より出るにあらずや
39 Wherefore then murmureth the living man? Let him murmur at his own sin!
活る人なんぞ怨言べけんや 人おのれの罪の罰せらるるをつぶやくべけんや
40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Jehovah!
我等みづからの行をしらべかつ省みてヱホバに歸るべし
41 Let us lift up our hearts with our hands to God in the heavens!
我ら天にいます神にむかひて手とともに心をも擧べし
42 We have transgressed; we have rebelled; thou hast not forgiven!
われらは罪ををかし我らは叛きたり なんぢこれを赦したまはざりき
43 Thou hast hidden thyself in anger, and hast pursued us; thou hast slain and hast not spared;
なんぢ震怒をもてみづから蔽ひ 我らを追攻め殺してあはれまず
44 Thou hast hidden thyself in a cloud, that our prayer may not pass through;
雲をもてみづから蔽ひ 祈禱をして通ぜざらしめ
45 Thou hast made us the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the nations.
もろもろの民の中にわれらを塵埃となしたまへり
46 All our enemies have opened their mouths against us;
敵は皆われらにむかひて口を張れり
47 Terror and the pit have come upon us, desolation and destruction;
恐懼と陷阱また暴行と滅亡我らに來れり
48 Mine eye runneth down with streams of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
わが民の女の滅亡によりてわが眼には涙の河ながる
49 Mine eye trickleth down and ceaseth not, without any intermission,
わが目は斷ず涙をそそぎて止ず
50 Until Jehovah look down and behold from heaven.
天よりヱホバの臨み見て顧みたまふ時にまで至らん
51 Mine eye is painful to me on account of all the daughters of my city.
わが邑の一切の女等の故によりてわが眼はわが心をいたましむ
52 They that are my enemies without cause hunt me down like a bird;
故なくして我に敵する者ども鳥を追ごとくにいたく我をおひ
53 They take away my life in the dungeon; they cast a stone upon me;
わが生命を坑の中にほろぼし わが上に石を投かけ
54 Waters flow over my head; I say, “I am undone!”
また水わが頭の上に溢る 我みづから言り滅びうせぬと
55 I call upon thy name, O Jehovah, from the deep dungeon;
ヱホバよ われ深き坑の底より汝の名を呼り
56 Hear thou my voice! hide not thine ear from my cry for relief!
なんぢ我が聲を聽たまへり わが哀歎と祈求に耳をおほひたまふなかれ
57 Be near to me, when I call upon thee! Say, “Fear not!”
わが汝を龥たりし時なんぢは近よりたまひて恐るるなかれと宣へり
58 Thou maintainest my cause, O Lord; thou redeemest my life!
主よなんぢはわが靈魂の訴を助け伸べ わが生命を贖ひ給へり
59 Thou, O Jehovah, seest the wrong done to me; Maintain thou my cause!
ヱホバよ なんぢは我がかうむりたる不義を見たまへり 願はくは我に正しき審判を與へたまへ
60 Thou seest all their vengeance, all their devices against me.
なんぢは彼らが我を怨み われを害せんとはかるを凡て見たまへり
61 Thou hearest their reproach, O Jehovah, all their devices against me,
ヱホバよなんぢは彼らが我を詈り 我を害せんとはかるを凡て聞たまへり
62 The words of my adversaries, and their machinations against me all the day long!
かの立て我に逆らふ者等の言語およびその終日われを攻んとて運らす謀計もまた汝これを聞たまへり
63 Behold their sitting down and their rising up! I am their song.
ねがはくは彼らの起居をかんがみたまへ 我はかれらに歌ひそしらる
64 Render to them a recompense, O Jehovah, according to the work of their hands!
ヱホバよ なんぢは彼らが手に爲すところに循がひて報をなし
65 Give them blindness of mind! thy curse be upon them!
かれらをして心くらからしめたまはん なんぢの呪詛かれらに歸せよ
66 Pursue them in thine anger, and destroy them from under Jehovah's heaven!
なんぢは震怒をもてかれらを追ひ ヱホバの天の下よりかれらをほろぼし絶たまはん
