< Jude 1 >
1 Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to the called, loved in God the Father and kept by Jesus Christ:
Yehudah, a servant of Yeshua Meshikha, and brother of Yaquv, to those who are called, loved by God the Father, and kept for Yeshua Meshikha:
2 Mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you.
Mercy to you and peace and love be multiplied.
3 Beloved, while giving all diligence to write to you, I found it necessary to write to you concerning the common salvation, exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once delivered to the saints.
Beloved, while I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I was constrained to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.
4 For there have stealthily crept in certain men who were of old appointed beforehand for this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into wantonness, and denying the only Sovereign, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
For there are certain people who crept in secretly, even those who were long ago written about for this condemnation: ungodly people, turning the grace of our God into sensuality, and denying our only Master and Lord, Yeshua Meshikha.
5 But I wish to remind you as once knowing it all, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who believed not;
Now I want to remind you, though you already know all these things, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
6 and the angels which kept not their principality, but left their own dwelling-place, he hath kept in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day; (aïdios )
Angels who did not keep their first domain, but deserted their own dwelling place, he has kept in everlasting bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day. (aïdios )
7 even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them, in like manner with them giving themselves over to fornication, and going away after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of everlasting fire. (aiōnios )
Even as Sedum and Amura, and the cities around them, having, in the same way as these, given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the punishment of everlasting fire. (aiōnios )
8 Yet in like manner these dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and rail at dignities.
Yet in like manner these also in their dreaming defile the flesh, despise authority, and blaspheme the glories.
9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the Devil he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a railing accusation, but said: The Lord rebuke thee.
But Mikael, the archangel, when contending with the devil and arguing about the body of Mushe, dared not bring against him an abusive condemnation, but said, "May the Lord rebuke you."
10 But these rail at the things which they know not; but what things they understand naturally, as brute beasts, in these they corrupt themselves.
But these speak evil of whatever things they do not know. What they understand naturally, like the creatures without reason, they are destroyed in these things.
11 Woe to them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and rushed on in the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Korah.
Woe to them. For they went in the way of Qayen, and ran riotously in the error of Belam for profit, and perished in Qurakh's rebellion.
12 These are the rocks in your feasts of love, feasting together without fear, feeding only themselves; clouds without water, carried away by winds; trees in late autumn, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
These are hidden rocky reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you, shepherds who without fear feed themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn leaves without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
13 raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. (aiōn )
wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness has been reserved forever. (aiōn )
14 Yea, and against these Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord cometh in the midst of his holy myriads,
About these also Khenuk, the seventh from Adom, prophesied, saying, "Look, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones,
15 to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly among them of all the deeds of their ungodliness which they committed; and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners spoke against him.”
to execute judgment on all, and to convict every person of all their works of ungodliness which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him."
16 These are murmurers, complaining of their lot, walking according to their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words; admiring men's persons, for the sake of profit.
These are murmurers and complainers, walking after their lusts (and their mouth speaks proud things), showing respect of persons to gain advantage.
17 But do ye, beloved, remember the words which were before spoken by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
But you, beloved, remember the words which have been spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Yeshua Meshikha.
18 that they told you that at the last time there would be scoffers, walking according to their own ungodly lusts.
They said to you that "In the end time there will be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts."
19 These are they that separate themselves, sensual, not having the Spirit.
These are they who cause divisions, and are sensual, not having the Rukha.
20 But do ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
But you, beloved, keep building yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Rukha d'Qudsha.
21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. (aiōnios )
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Yeshua Meshikha to everlasting life. (aiōnios )
22 And some rebuke when they contend; and others save, snatching them out of the fire; and on others have compassion
And be merciful on those who doubt,
23 with fear, hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
and some save, snatching them out of the fire, and on some have mercy with fear; hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.
24 But to him that is able to keep them from falling, and to present them faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory in great joy,
25 to the only God our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, is glory, majesty, dominion and power, before all time, and now, and for ever. Amen. (aiōn )
to the only God our Savior, through Yeshua Meshikha our Lord, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. (aiōn )
