John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Pradžioje buvo Žodis, ir Žodis buvo pas Dievą, ir Žodis buvo Dievas.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Tasai buvo pradžioje pas Dievą.
3 All things were made through him; and without him was nothing made that hath been made.
Kiekviena visatos dalis atsirado per jį, ir be jo neatsirado nieko, kas tik yra atsiradę.
4 In him is life; and the life was the light of men.
Jame buvo gyvybė, ir ta gyvybė buvo žmonių Šviesa.
5 And the light hath been shining in the darkness; and the darkness received it not.
Ir Šviesa nuolat šviečia tamsoje, tačiau tamsa jos nepagavo.
6 There was a man, sent from God, whose name was John.
Atsirado nuo Dievo atsiųstas žmogus, vardu Jonas.
7 He came as a witness, to bear witness of the light, that through him all might believe.
Tasai atėjo tam, kad būtų liudijimas, – kad liudytų apie Šviesą, idant visi per jį įtikėtų.
8 He was not the light, but came to bear witness of the light.
Jis nebuvo ta Šviesa, bet [buvo pasiųstas] liudyti apie tą Šviesą.
9 The true light, which enlighteneth every man, was coming into the world.
Tikroji Šviesa buvo [ta], kuri apšviečia kiekvieną žmogų, ateinantį į pasaulį.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world knew him not.
Jis buvo pasaulyje, ir pasaulis atsirado per jį, bet pasaulis jo nepažinojo.
11 He came to his own, and his own received him not.
Į savo nuosavybę jis atėjo, ir savieji jo nepriėmė.
12 But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become children of God, —to those who believed in his name;
Bet visiems, kurie jį priėmė, tiems jis davė įgaliojimą tapti Dievo vaikais – tiems, kurie pasitiki jo vardu,
13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
kurie yra pagimdyti nei iš kraujo, nei iš kūno valios, nei iš vyro valios, bet iš Dievo.
14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; and we beheld his glory, a glory as of an only begotten of a father.
O tas Žodis tapo kūnu ir apsigyveno tarp mūsų – ir mes matėme jo šlovę, būtent Viengimio nuo Tėvo šlovę – pilnas malonės ir tiesos.
15 John beareth witness of him, and crieth, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that cometh after me hath gone before me; for he was before me.
Jonas liudijo apie jį ir šaukė, sakydamas: „Šitas buvo tas, apie kurį kalbėjau [šitaip]: „Tas, kuris ateina po manęs, yra viršesnis už mane, nes jis buvo anksčiau už mane“.“
16 For out of his fullness have we all received, and grace upon grace.
Ir mes visi iš jo pilnatvės gavome ir malonę, pakeičiančią malonę,
17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
nes Įstatymas buvo duotas per Mozę; malonė ir tiesa atėjo per Jėzų Kristų.
18 No one hath ever seen God; the only begotten God, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath made him known.
Dievo niekas niekada nėra matęs; viengimis Sūnus, kuris yra Tėvo užantyje, – tas [jį] apsakė.
19 And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem, to ask him, Who art thou?
Ir šitas yra Jono liudijimas, kai žydai iš Jeruzalės siuntė kunigų ir levitų jo paklausti: „Kas tu esi?“
20 And he declared, and did not deny; and he declared, I am not the Christ.
Ir jis išpažino ir neišsisukinėjo, bet išpažino: „Aš nesu Kristus.“
21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elijah? And he said, I am not. Art thou the prophet? And he answered, No.
Ir jie paklausė jo: „[Tai] kas gi? Ar tu Elijas?“O jis sako: „Nesu.“„Ar tu tas Pranašas?“Ir jis atsakė: „Ne.“
22 They said therefore to him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to those who sent us; what sayest thou of thyself?
Tada jie tarė jam: „Kas tu esi, kad mes galėtume duoti atsakymą tiems, kurie mus siuntė? Ką sakai apie save?“
23 He said, I am “a voice of one crying aloud in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord,” as said Isaiah the prophet.
Jis tarė: „Aš [esu] dykumoje šaukiančiojo balsas: „Darykite VIEŠPAČIUI tiesų kelią“, kaip sakė pranašas Izaijas.“
24 And they were sent from the Pharisees;
O atsiųstieji buvo iš fariziejų.
25 and they asked him and said to him, Why then dost thou baptize, if thou art not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?
Ir jo paklausdami jie jam tarė: „Tai kodėl krikštiji, jei nesi Kristus, nei Elijas, nei tas Pranašas?“
26 John answered them, saying, I baptize in water. There standeth one among you whom ye know not,
Jonas jiems atsakė, tardamas: „Aš krikštiju vandeniu, bet tarp jūsų stovi tas, kurio jūs nepažįstate.
27 he who cometh after me, the latchet of whose sandal I am not worthy to loose.
Jis yra tas, kuris ateina po manęs, kuris yra viršesnis už mane, kurio apavo dirželio aš nesu vertas atrišti.“
28 These things took place in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
Šie dalykai įvyko Betabaroje anapus Jordano, kur Jonas krikštydavo.
29 The next day he seeth Jesus coming to him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world!
Rytojaus dieną Jonas pamatė ateinantį pas jį Jėzų ir pasakė: „Štai Dievo Avinėlis, kuris pašalina pasaulio nuodėmę!
30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man, who hath gone before me; for he was before me.
Šitas yra tas, apie kurį aš sakiau: „Po manęs ateina vyras, kuris yra viršesnis už mane, nes jis buvo anksčiau už mane.“
31 And I knew him not; but that he might be made manifest to Israel, therefore I came baptizing in water.
Ir aš jo nepažinojau, bet todėl atėjau krikštydamas vandeniu, – kad jis būtų apreikštas Izraeliui.“
32 And John bore witness, saying, I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove from heaven, and it abode upon him.
Ir Jonas paliudijo, sakydamas: „Aš mačiau Dvasią, lyg balandį nusileidžiančią iš dangaus, ir ji pasiliko ant jo.
33 And I knew him not; but he who sent me to baptize in water, the same said to me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and abiding on him, he it is that baptizeth in the Holy Spirit.
Ir aš jo nepažinojau, bet tas, kuris mane siuntė krikštyti vandeniu, man pasakė: „Ant ko pamatysi nusileidžiančią Dvasią, taip pat ant jo pasiliekančią, jis yra [tas], kuris krikštija Šventąja Dvasia.“
34 And I have seen and have borne witness, that this is the Son of God.
Ir aš esu matęs ir esu liudijęs, kad šitas yra Dievo Sūnus.“
35 On the morrow John was again standing, and two of his disciples;
Rytojaus dieną vėl stovėjo Jonas ir du iš jo mokytinių,
36 and looking upon Jesus as he was walking, he saith, Behold, the Lamb of God!
ir žiūrėdamas į einantį Jėzų jis sako: „Štai Dievo Avinėlis!“
37 The two disciples heard him speaking, and they followed Jesus.
Tuodu mokytiniai girdėjo jį [tai] kalbant ir nusekė paskui Jėzų.
38 Jesus turning and seeing them following, saith to them, What seek ye? And they said to him, Rabbi, (that is to say, when interpreted, Teacher, ) where dost thou dwell?
Tada Jėzus, atsigręžęs ir pamatęs juos sekančius, tarė jiems: „Ko ieškote?“O jie tarė jam: „Rabi, – (verčiant būtų pasakyta „Mokytojau“) – kur tamsta gyveni?“
39 He saith to them, Come, and ye shall see. They came therefore and saw where he dwelt; and they abode with him that day. It was about the tenth hour.
Jis pasakė jiems: „Ateikite ir pamatykite.“Jie atėjo ir pamatė, kur jis gyvena, ir tą dieną pasiliko pas jį. O buvo apie dešimtą valandą.
40 One of the two who heard what John said, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.
Vienas iš tų dviejų, kurie buvo girdėję [tai] iš Jono ir nusekę paskui [Jėzų], buvo Simono Petro brolis Andriejus.
41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith to him, We have found the Messiah; (which is, when interpreted, the Christ.)
Jis pirmas susiieškojo savo brolį Simoną ir jam pasakė: „Mes radome Mesiją!“(Išvertus tai reiškia „Kristų“).
42 He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looking upon him said, Thou art Simon, the son of John; thou shalt be called Cephas; (which signifieth Peter, that is, Rock.)
Ir jis atvedė jį pas Jėzų, o įbedęs akis į jį Jėzus tarė: „Tu esi Simonas, Jonos sūnus. Tu būsi vadinamas Kefu.“(Verčiant [tai] yra „Petras“.)
43 On the morrow he determined to go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip. And Jesus saith to him, Follow me.
Rytojaus dieną Jėzus norėjo eiti į Galilėją. Ir jis surado Pilypą ir jam tarė: „Sek paskui mane!“
44 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
O Pilypas buvo iš Betsaidos, Andriejaus ir Petro miesto.
45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith to him, We have found him of whom Moses in the Law, and the Prophets wrote, Jesus, the son of Joseph, who is of Nazareth.
Pilypas surado Natanaelį ir jam pasakė: „Mes suradome tą, apie kurį rašė Mozė įstatyme, taip pat pranašai – Jėzų iš Nazareto, Juozapo sūnų.“
46 And Nathanael said to him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith to him, Come and see.
O Natanaelis jam tarė: „Ar iš Nazareto gali būti kas gero?!“Pilypas jam sakė: „Ateik ir pasižiūrėk!“
47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile.
Jėzus pamatė Natanaelį, ateinantį pas jį, ir pasakė apie jį: „Štai tikras izraelitas, kuriame nėra klastos!“
48 Nathanael saith to him, Whence dost thou know me? Jesus answered and said to him, Before Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig-tree, I saw thee.
Natanaelis jam tarė: „Iš kur mane pažinai?“Jėzus atsakydamas tarė jam: „Prieš Pilypui pašaukiant tave, kai buvai po figmedžiu, aš mačiau tave.“
49 Nathanael answered him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God, thou art the king of Israel.
Natanaelis atsakydamas jam tarė: „Rabi, tu esi Dievo Sūnus! Tu esi Izraelio Karalius!“
50 Jesus answered and said to him, Because I said to thee, I saw thee under the fig-tree, dost thou believe? Thou shalt see greater things than these.
Jėzus atsakydamas tarė jam: „Ar tu tiki, kadangi aš tau pasakiau: „Aš mačiau tave po figmedžiu“? Pamatysi už šituos didesnių dalykų.“
51 And he saith to him, Truly, truly do I say to you, Ye will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
Ir jis sako jam: „Iš tiesų, iš tiesų sakau jums: nuo šiol jūs matysite atvirą dangų ir Dievo angelus, kylančius ir nusileidžiančius ant Žmogaus Sūnaus.“
