John 9
1 And as he was passing along, he saw a man who had been blind from his birth.
Und da Er vorüberging, sah Er einen Menschen, blind von Geburt.
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
Und Seine Jünger fragten Ihn und sagten: Rabbi, wer hat gesündigt, dieser da oder seine Eltern, daß er blind geboren ward?
3 Jesus answered, Neither did this man sin, nor his parents; but that the works of God might be made manifest in him.
Jesus antwortete: Weder dieser hat gesündigt, noch seine Eltern, sondern daß die Werke Gottes an ihm geoffenbart würden.
4 We must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day; the night is coming, when no one can work.
Ich muß wirken die Werke Dessen, Der Mich gesandt hat, während es Tag ist. Es kommt eine Nacht, da niemand wirken kann.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
Solange Ich bin in der Welt, bin Ich das Licht der Welt.
6 Having thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay with the spittle, and anointed his eyes with the clay,
Da Er solches gesprochen hatte, spützte Er auf die Erde und machte aus dem Speichel einen Teig und strich den Teig auf die Augen des Blinden,
7 and said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam; (which is, when translated, Sent.) He went away therefore, and washed and came seeing.
Und sprach zu ihm: Gehe hin, wasche dich im Teich Siloah - das ist verdolmetscht Entsandt. Da ging er weg und wusch sich und kam sehend.
8 The neighbors therefore, and they who before had seen him as a beggar, said, Is not this he that sits and begs?
Die Nachbarn nun und die, so ihn früher sahen, daß er ein Bettler war, sagten: Ist das nicht der, welcher dasaß und bettelte?
9 Some said, This is he. Others said, No, but he is like him. He said, I am he.
Einige sagten: Er ist es. Andere aber: Er ist ihm ähnlich. Er aber sagte: Ich bin es.
10 They said therefore to him How then were thine eyes opened?
Da sagten sie zu ihm: Wie wurden dir die Augen aufgetan?
11 He answered, The man who is called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes, and said to me, Go to Siloam, and wash. I went therefore and washed, and received sight.
Derselbe antwortete und sagte: Ein Mensch, der Jesus genannt wird, machte einen Teig und bestrich mir damit die Augen und sprach zu mir: Gehe hin an den Teich Siloah und wasche dich. Ich aber ging hin, wusch mich und ward sehend.
12 And they said to him, Where is that man? He saith, I do not know.
Da sagten sie zu ihm: Wo ist Der? Er sagt: Ich weiß es nicht.
13 They bring to the Pharisees him who had once been blind.
Da führten sie ihn, der weiland blind war, zu den Pharisäern.
14 And the day on which Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes was the sabbath.
Es war aber Sabbath, da Jesus den Teig machte und ihm die Augen auftat.
15 Again therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he received his sight. He said to them, He put clay on my eyes, and I washed them, and I see.
Da fragten ihn auch die Pharisäer abermals, wie er sehend wurde. Er aber sagte ihnen: Einen Teig legte Er mir auf die Augen und ich wusch mich und sehe.
16 Therefore some of the Pharisees said, This man is not from God, because he keepeth not the sabbath. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such signs. And there was a division among them.
Etliche nun aus den Pharisäern sagten: Dieser Mensch ist nicht von Gott, weil Er den Sabbath nicht hält. Andere sagten: Wie kann ein sündhafter Mensch solche Zeichen tun? Und es war ein Zwiespalt unter ihnen.
17 They say therefore to the blind man again, What dost thou say of him for having opened thine eyes? And he said, He is a prophet.
Sie sprachen wiederum zu dem Blinden: Was sagst du von Ihm, daß Er dir die Augen auftat? Er aber sprach: Er ist ein Prophet.
18 The Jews therefore did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.
Nun glaubten die Juden nicht von ihm, daß er blind war und sehend wurde, bis daß sie riefen die Eltern dessen, der sehend geworden war.
19 And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? How then doth he now see?
Und sie fragten sie und sprachen: Ist dies euer Sohn, von dem ihr sagt, er sei blind geboren? Wie ist er denn jetzt sehend?
20 His parents, answered and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind;
Seine Eltern antworteten ihnen und sprachen: Wir wissen, daß dieser unser Sohn ist, und daß er blind geboren ward.
21 but by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who opened his eyes, we know not; ask him, he is of age; he will speak for himself.
Wie er aber nun sehend ist, wissen wir nicht; oder wer ihm seine Augen aufgetan hat, wissen wir nicht. Er selbst hat das Alter, fragt ihn. Er wird für sich selber reden.
22 This his parents said, because they feared the Jews. For the Jews had already agreed, that if any one should acknowledge him as the Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
Solches sagten seine Eltern, weil sie sich vor den Juden fürchteten; denn die Juden waren schon dahin übereingekommen, daß, so jemand Ihn als Christus bekennete, er solle aus der Synagoge gestoßen werden.
23 Therefore his parents said, He is of age; ask him.
Darum sagten seine Eltern: Er hat das Alter, fragt ihn.
24 They therefore called a second time the man that had been blind, and said to him, Give glory to God; we know that this man is a sinner.
Da riefen sie zum andern Mal den Menschen, der blind gewesen, und sprachen zu ihm: Gib Gott die Ehre! Wir wissen, daß dieser Mensch ein Sünder ist.
25 He therefore answered, Whether he is a sinner, I know not; one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
Derselbe antwortete nun und sprach: Ob Er ein Sünder ist, weiß ich nicht. Eins weiß ich, daß ich blind war, und nun sehend bin.
26 They said to him, What did he do to thee? How did he open thine eyes?
Sie sprachen aber zu ihm abermals: Was tat Er dir? Wie tat Er deine Augen auf?
27 He answered them, I have already told you, and ye did not hear; why would ye hear it again? Are ye also inclined to become his disciples?
Er antwortete ihnen: Ich habe es euch schon gesagt, und ihr habt nicht gehört. Warum wollt ihr es abermals hören? Wollt auch ihr Seine Jünger werden?
28 They reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are disciples of Moses.
Da schimpften sie auf ihn und sagten: Du bist Sein Jünger; wir aber sind Moses Jünger.
29 We know that God hath spoken to Moses; but as for this man, we know not whence he is.
Wir wissen, daß mit Moses Gott geredet hat. Von Dem aber wissen wir nicht, von wannen Er ist.
30 The man answered and said to them, Why, herein is a marvelous thing, that ye know not whence he is, and yet he opened my eyes.
Der Mensch antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Das ist doch wunderbar, daß ihr nicht wisset, von wannen Er ist, und Er hat mir die Augen aufgetan.
31 We know that God heareth not sinners; but if any one is a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
Wir wissen aber, daß Gott die Sünder nicht hört; wenn aber einer gottesfürchtig ist und Seinen Willen tut, den hört Er.
32 Since the world began, it was never heard that any one opened the eyes of a man born blind. (aiōn g165)
Von Anbeginn an ist nicht erhört, daß einer einem Blindgeborenen die Augen hat aufgetan. (aiōn g165)
33 If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.
Wäre Dieser nicht von Gott, so hätte Er nichts tun können.
34 They answered and said to him, Thou wast wholly born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
Sie aber antworteten und sagten zu ihm: Du bist ganz in Sünden geboren und lehrest uns? Und sie stießen ihn hinaus.
35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and he found him, and said, Dost thou believe in the Son of man?
Jesus hörte, daß sie ihn hinausgestoßen hatten, und Er fand ihn und sprach zu ihm: Glaubst du an den Sohn Gottes?
36 He answered and said, And who is he, Lord, that I may believe in him?
Jener antwortete und sagte: Wer ist es, Herr, daß ich an Ihn glaube?
37 Jesus said to him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
Jesus aber sprach zu ihm: Du hast ihn gesehen, und Der mit dir redet, Der ist es.
38 And he said, I believe, Lord; and he prostrated himself before him.
Er aber sprach: Ich glaube, Herr! und betete Ihn an.
39 And Jesus said, For judgment came I into this world; that they who see not might see, and that they who see might become blind.
Und Jesus sprach: Ich bin zum Gericht in diese Welt gekommen, auf daß, die da nicht sehen, sehen, und die da sehen, blind werden.
40 Some of the Pharisees who were with him heard this, and said to him, Are we also blind?
Und solches hörten etliche aus den Pharisäern, die bei Ihm waren, und sagten zu Ihm: Sind wir denn auch blind?
41 Jesus said to them, If ye were blind, ye would not have sin; but now ye say, We see. Your sin remaineth.
Jesus sprach zu ihnen: Wenn ihr blind wäret, so hättet ihr keine Sünde; nun ihr aber saget: Wir sehen, so bleibt denn eure Sünde.
