John 7
1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for he would not walk in Judaea, because the Jews sought to kill him.
௧இவைகளுக்குப் பின்பு, யூதர்கள் இயேசுவைக் கொலைசெய்ய வகைதேடினதால், அவர் யூதேயாவிலே வசிப்பதற்கு விருப்பம் இல்லாமல் கலிலேயாவிலே வசித்து வந்தார்.
2 Now the feast of the Jews, the feast of tabernacles, was at hand.
௨யூதர்களுடைய கூடாரப்பண்டிகை நெருங்கியிருந்தது.
3 His brothers therefore said to him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see thy works which thou art doing.
௩அப்பொழுது அவருடைய சகோதரர்கள் அவரைப் பார்த்து: நீர் செய்கிற செயல்களை உம்முடைய சீடர்களும் பார்க்கும்படி, இந்த இடத்தைவிட்டு யூதேயாவிற்கு செல்லும்.
4 For no one doeth anything in secret, and yet himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou doest these things, manifest thyself to the world.
௪பிரபலமாக இருக்கவிரும்புகிற எவனும் அந்தரங்கத்திலே ஒன்றையும் செய்யமாட்டான்; நீர் இப்படிப்பட்டவைகளைச் செய்வதால் உலகத்திற்கு உம்மை வெளிப்படுத்தும் என்றார்கள்.
5 For even his brothers did not believe in him.
௫அவருடைய சகோதரர்களும் அவரை விசுவாசிக்காததினால் இப்படிச் சொன்னார்கள்.
6 Jesus saith to them, My time is not yet come; but your time is always ready.
௬இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: என் நேரம் இன்னும் வரவில்லை, உங்களுடைய நேரமோ எப்பொழுதும் ஆயத்தமாக இருக்கிறது.
7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that its works are evil.
௭உலகம் உங்களைப் பகைக்கமாட்டாது; அதின் செயல்கள் பொல்லாதவைகளாக இருக்கிறது என்று நான் சாட்சி கொடுக்கிறதினாலே அது என்னைப் பகைக்கிறது.
8 Go ye up to the feast; I go not up to this feast; for my time is not yet fully come.
௮நீங்கள் இந்த பண்டிகைக்குப் போங்கள்; என் நேரம் இன்னும் வராததினால் நான் இந்தப் பண்டிகைக்கு இப்பொழுது போகிறதில்லை என்றார்.
9 Having said these things, he remained in Galilee.
௯இவைகளை அவர்களிடம் சொல்லி, கலிலேயாவிலே தங்கிவிட்டார்.
10 But when his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not openly, but as it were in secret.
௧0அவருடைய சகோதரர்கள் போனபின்பு, அவர் வெளிப்படையாகப் போகாமல் மறைவாக பண்டிகைக்குப் போனார்.
11 The Jews therefore sought him at the feast, and said, Where is that man?
௧௧பண்டிகையிலே யூதர்கள் அவரைத் தேடி: அவர் எங்கே இருக்கிறார் என்றார்கள்.
12 And there was much debating among the multitude concerning him. Some said, He is a good man; others said, Nay, but he deceiveth the multitude.
௧௨மக்களுக்குள்ளே அவரைக்குறித்து முறுமுறுப்புண்டானது. சிலர்: அவர் நல்லவர் என்றார்கள். வேறுசிலர்: அப்படி இல்லை, அவன் மக்களை ஏமாற்றுகிறவன் என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
13 No one, however, spoke openly of him, for fear of the Jews.
௧௩ஆனாலும் யூதர்களுக்குப் பயந்திருந்ததினாலே, ஒருவனும் அவரைக்குறித்து வெளிப்படையாக பேசவில்லை.
14 But when it was now the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught.
௧௪பண்டிகையின் பாதிநாட்கள் முடிந்தபோது, இயேசு தேவாலயத்திற்குச் சென்று, போதனை செய்தார்.
15 The Jews therefore marveled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
௧௫அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள்: இவர் படிக்காதவராக இருந்தும் வேத எழுத்துக்களை எப்படி அறிந்திருக்கிறார் என்று ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.
16 Jesus therefore answered them, and said, My teaching is not mine, but his that sent me.
௧௬இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: என் உபதேசம் என்னுடையதாக இல்லாமல், என்னை அனுப்பினவருடையதாக இருக்கிறது.
17 If any one is desirous to do his will, he will know concerning the teaching, whether it is from God, or whether I speak from myself.
௧௭அவருடைய விருப்பத்தின்படிசெய்ய மனதுள்ளவன் எவனோ அவன் இந்த உபதேசம் தேவனால் உண்டாயிருக்கிறதோ, நான் சொந்தமாக பேசுகிறேனோ என்று அறிந்துகொள்ளுவான்.
18 He that speaketh from himself seeketh his own glory; but he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, he is true, and in him is no unrighteousness.
௧௮சொந்தமாக பேசுகிறவன் தன் சொந்த மகிமையைத் தேடுகிறான், தன்னை அனுப்பினவரின் மகிமையைத் தேடுகிறவனோ உண்மை உள்ளவனாக இருக்கிறான், அவனிடத்தில் அநீதியில்லை.
19 Hath not Moses given you the Law? and none of you keepeth the Law! Why do ye seek to kill me?
௧௯மோசே நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தை உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கவில்லையா? அப்படியிருந்தும் உங்களில் ஒருவனும் அந்த நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி நடக்கிறதில்லை; நீங்கள் ஏன் என்னைக் கொலைசெய்யத் தேடுகிறீர்கள் என்றார்.
20 The multitude answered, Thou hast a demon! Who seeketh to kill thee?
௨0மக்கள் அவருக்கு மறுமொழியாக: நீ பிசாசு பிடித்தவன்; உன்னைக் கொலைசெய்யத் தேடுகிறவன் யார் என்றார்கள்.
21 Jesus answered and said to them, I have done one good work, and ye are all wondering.
௨௧இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: ஒரே செயலை செய்தேன், அதைக்குறித்து எல்லோரும் ஆச்சரியப்படுகிறீர்கள்.
22 Moses hath given you circumcision, (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers; ) and ye on the sabbath circumcise a man.
௨௨விருத்தசேதனம் மோசேயினால் உண்டாகாமல், முன்னோர்களால் உண்டானது; பின்பு மோசே அதை உங்களுக்கு நியமித்தான்; நீங்கள் ஓய்வுநாளிலும் மனிதனை விருத்தசேதனம்பண்ணுகிறீர்கள்.
23 If a man receive circumcision on the sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken, are ye angry at me, because I have restored soundness to the whole body of a man on the sabbath?
௨௩மோசேயின் நியாயப்பிரமாணம் மீறாமல் இருக்கும்படி ஓய்வுநாளில் மனிதன் விருத்தசேதனம் பெறலாம் என்றால், நான் ஓய்வுநாளில் ஒரு மனிதனை முழுவதும் சுகமாக்கினதினாலே என்மேல் எரிச்சலாயிருக்கலாமா?
24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
௨௪தோற்றத்தின்படி தீர்ப்பு செய்யாமல், நீதியின்படி தீர்ப்பு செய்யுங்கள் என்றார்.
25 Then some of the men of Jerusalem said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill?
௨௫அப்பொழுது எருசலேம் நகரத்தாரில் சிலர்: இவனைத்தானே கொலைசெய்யத் தேடுகிறார்கள்?
26 and see! he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing to him. Have the rulers discovered certainly that this man is the Christ?
௨௬இதோ, இவன் வெளிப்படையாக பேசுகிறானே, ஒருவரும் இவனுக்கு ஒன்றும் சொல்லுகிறதில்லையே, உண்மையாக இவன் கிறிஸ்து தான் என்று அதிகாரிகள் நிச்சயமாக அறிந்திருக்கிறார்களோ?
27 Still, as to this man, we know whence he is; but when the Christ cometh, no one knoweth whence he is.
௨௭இவன் இன்ன இடத்திலிருந்து வந்தவன் என்று நாம் அறிந்திருக்கிறோம், கிறிஸ்து வரும்போதோ, அவர் இன்ன இடத்திலிருந்து வருகிறவர் என்று ஒருவனும் அறியமாட்டானே என்றார்கள்.
28 Jesus therefore cried aloud, teaching in the temple and saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am; and I have not come of myself, but there is in truth one who sent me, whom ye know not.
௨௮அப்பொழுது இயேசு தேவாலயத்தில் உபதேசிக்கும்போது சத்தமிட்டு: நீங்கள் என்னை அறிவீர்கள், நான் எங்கே இருந்து வந்தேன் என்றும் அறிவீர்கள்; நான் நானாகவே வரவில்லை, என்னை அனுப்பினவர் சத்தியம் உள்ளவர், அவரை நீங்கள் அறியாதிருக்கிறீர்கள்.
29 I know him, because I am from him, and he hath sent me.
௨௯நான் அவரால் வந்திருக்கிறதினாலும், அவர் என்னை அனுப்பி இருக்கிறதினாலும், நானே அவரை அறிந்திருக்கிறேன் என்றார்.
30 Therefore they sought to take him; but no one laid hands on him, because his hour had not yet come.
௩0அப்பொழுது அவரைப் பிடிக்க வகைதேடினார்கள்; ஆனாலும் அவருடைய நேரம் இன்னும் வராததினால் ஒருவனும் அவரைத் தொடவில்லை.
31 But of the multitude many believed in him, and said, When the Christ cometh, will he do more signs than these which this man doeth?
௩௧மக்களில் அநேகர் அவரை விசுவாசித்து: கிறிஸ்து வரும்போது, இவர் செய்கிற அற்புதங்களைவிட அதிகமாகச் செய்வாரோ என்றார்கள்.
32 The Pharisees heard the multitude thus debating concerning him; and the chief priest and the Pharisees sent officers to seize him.
௩௨மக்கள் அவரைக்குறித்து இப்படி முறுமுறுக்கிறதைப் பரிசேயர்கள் கேட்டபொழுது, அவரைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு வரும்படிக்குப் பரிசேயர்களும் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களும் காவலர்களை அனுப்பினார்கள்.
33 Jesus therefore said, Yet a little while I am with you, and then I go to him that sent me.
௩௩அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: இன்னும் கொஞ்சக்காலம் நான் உங்களோடுகூட இருந்து, பின்பு என்னை அனுப்பினவர் இடத்திற்குப் போகிறேன்.
34 Ye will seek me and not find me; and where I am, ye cannot come.
௩௪நீங்கள் என்னைத் தேடுவீர்கள், ஆனாலும் என்னைப் பார்க்கமாட்டீர்கள்; நான் இருக்கும் இடத்திற்கு நீங்கள் வரவும் கூடாது என்றார்.
35 The Jews therefore said among themselves, Whither will this man go, that we shall not find him? Will he go to the dispersed among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?
௩௫அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள்: இவரை நாம் பார்க்காதபடிக்கு எங்கே போவார், கிரேக்கர்களுக்குள்ளே சிதறியிருக்கிற நமது மக்களிடம் போய், கிரேக்கர்களுக்கு உபதேசம் செய்வாரோ?
36 What meaneth this which he said, Ye will seek me, and not find me; and where I am, ye cannot come?
௩௬நீங்கள் என்னைத் தேடுவீர்கள், ஆனாலும் என்னைப் பார்க்கமாட்டீர்கள் என்றும், நான் இருக்கும் இடத்திற்கு நீங்கள் வரக்கூடாது என்றும், இவர் சொன்ன வார்த்தையின் கருத்து என்ன என்று தங்களுக்குள்ளே சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
37 On the last day, which is the great day, of the feast, Jesus stood and cried aloud, saying, If any one thirst, let him come to me, and drink.
௩௭பண்டிகையின் கடைசிநாளாகிய முக்கியமான நாளிலே இயேசு நின்று, சத்தமிட்டு: ஒருவன் தாகமாக இருந்தால் என்னிடத்தில் வந்து பானம்பண்ணட்டும்.
38 He that believeth in me, from within him, as the Scripture hath said, will flow rivers of living water.
௩௮வேதவாக்கியம் சொல்லுகிறபடி என்னிடத்தில் விசுவாசமாக இருக்கிறவன் எவனோ, அவன் உள்ளத்திலிருந்து ஜீவத்தண்ணீருள்ள நதிகள் ஓடும் என்றார்.
39 But this he said of the Spirit, which those that believed in him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
௩௯தம்மை விசுவாசிக்கிறவர்கள் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளப்போகிற ஆவியானவரைக்குறித்து இப்படிச் சொன்னார். இயேசு இன்னும் மகிமைப்படாமல் இருந்ததினால் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் இன்னும் கொடுக்கப்படவில்லை.
40 Some of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, This is in truth the prophet. Others said, This is the Christ.
௪0மக்களில் அநேகர் இந்த வசனத்தைக் கேட்டபொழுது: உண்மையாகவே இவர் தீர்க்கதரிசியானவர் என்றார்கள்.
41 Others said, Doth the Christ then come from Galilee?
௪௧வேறுசிலர்: இவர் கிறிஸ்து என்றார்கள். வேறுசிலர்: கிறிஸ்து கலிலேயாவிலிருந்தா வருவார்?
42 Hath not the Scripture said, that the Christ cometh from the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the town where David was?
௪௨தாவீதின் சந்ததியிலும், தாவீது இருந்த பெத்லகேம் ஊரிலுமிருந்து கிறிஸ்து வருவார் என்று வேதவாக்கியம் சொல்லவில்லையா என்றார்கள்.
43 So there was a division among the multitude because of him.
௪௩இவ்விதமாக அவரைக்குறித்து மக்களுக்குள்ளே பிரிவினை உண்டானது.
44 And some of them wished to seize him; but no one laid hands on him.
௪௪அவர்களில் சிலர் அவரைப் பிடிக்க விருப்பமாக இருந்தார்கள்; ஆனாலும் ஒருவனும் அவரைத் தொடவில்லை.
45 The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, Why did ye not bring him?
௪௫பின்பு அந்தக் காவலர்கள் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களிடத்திற்கும் பரிசேயர்களிடத்திற்கும் திரும்பிவந்தார்கள்; இவர்கள் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் அவனை ஏன் அழைத்து வரவில்லை என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
46 The officers answered, Never man spoke like this man.
௪௬காவலர்கள் மறுமொழியாக: அந்த மனிதன் பேசுகிறதுபோல ஒருவனும் ஒருபோதும் பேசினது இல்லை என்றார்கள்.
47 The Pharisees answered them, Have ye also been deceived?
௪௭அப்பொழுது பரிசேயர்கள்: நீங்களும் ஏமாற்றப்பட்டீர்களா?
48 Hath any one of the rulers believed in him? or of the Pharisees?
௪௮அதிகாரிகளிலாவது பரிசேயர்களிலாவது யாரேனும் ஒருவர் அவனை விசுவாசித்ததுண்டா?
49 but this multitude that know not the Law are accursed.
௪௯வேதத்தை அறியாதவர்களாகிய இந்த மக்கள் சபிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் என்றார்கள்.
50 Nicodemus saith to them, being one of them,
௫0இரவிலே அவரிடத்திற்கு வந்தவனும் அவர்களில் ஒருவனுமாகிய நிக்கொதேமு என்பவன் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து:
51 Doth our law judge a man, unless it first hear from him, and know what he doeth?
௫௧ஒரு மனிதன் சொல்வதைக் கேட்டு, அவன் செய்கைகளை அறிகிறதற்கு முன்னே, அவனைத் தண்டனைக்கு உட்படுத்தலாம் என்று நம்முடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணம் சொல்லுகிறதா என்றான்.
52 They answered and said to him, Art thou too from Galilee? Search and see that no prophet ariseth from Galilee.
௫௨அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நீரும் கலிலேயனோ? கலிலேயாவில் இருந்து ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசியும் எழும்புகிறது இல்லை என்பதை ஆராய்ந்து பாரும் என்றார்கள்.

It is, however, very generally regarded as a genuine relic of the teaching of Christ, though not forming a part of the fourth Gospel.
