< John 7 >

1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for he would not walk in Judaea, because the Jews sought to kill him.
Pamande ye mambo ega oYesu asafiliye eshi hu Galilaya, afuatanaje sagaasongwelwe abhala huu Yahudi afwatanaje huuyahudi wapangaga ahubude.
2 Now the feast of the Jews, the feast of tabernacles, was at hand.
Eshi eshikulukulu sha Yahudi, eshi kulukulu ye Vibanda, ya pepee.
3 His brothers therefore said to him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see thy works which thou art doing.
Aholo wakwe nkabhozya, “Sogala apantu epa obhale hu Yahudi, abhanafunzi bhaho bhagalole amambo gobhomba.
4 For no one doeth anything in secret, and yet himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou doest these things, manifest thyself to the world.
Nomo wabhomba lyolyonti hu shi siri nkashe omwene yoyo ahwanza ajulihane pazelu. Nkashe obhomba ega, hwilanje wewe hwabha munsi.”
5 For even his brothers did not believe in him.
Hata bhaholo bhakwe sebhamwetesheye.
6 Jesus saith to them, My time is not yet come; but your time is always ready.
O Yesu nkabhabhozya, “Insiku zyane sezifishile bado, ila ensiku zyenyu kila muda zihweli.
7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that its works are evil.
Abhamunsi sebhawezizye abhavitwe amwe, ila bhamvitwa ane afuatane embahakikisya aje ambombo zyao mbibhi.
8 Go ye up to the feast; I go not up to this feast; for my time is not yet fully come.
Zubhaji abhale hu shikulukulu; ane sembala hu shikulukulu afuatanaje omuda gwane guli seele afishe.”
9 Having said these things, he remained in Galilee.
Nayanga enongwa izyo hwa bhahala, asageye hu Galilaya.
10 But when his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not openly, but as it were in secret.
Hata sheshi, aholo bhakwe na bhabhalile hushikulukulu wope nkahabhala, sio apazelu bali pasirisiri.
11 The Jews therefore sought him at the feast, and said, Where is that man?
Ayahudi bhali bhahufuata hushikulukulu naje, “Ali hwii?”
12 And there was much debating among the multitude concerning him. Some said, He is a good man; others said, Nay, but he deceiveth the multitude.
Hwali no luyangano lwinji muhati mlubhongano ahusu omwene. Wamo bhajile, “Muntu mwinza.” Bhamwabho wajile, “Ndadi abhatezya olubhongano.”
13 No one, however, spoke openly of him, for fear of the Jews.
Hata sheshi nomo wayanjile pazelu ahusu omwahale afuatanaje bhabhogope Ayahudi.
14 But when it was now the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught.
Ensiku zye shikulukulu nazyahali katikati, oYesu azubhile abhale mshibhanza na hwande asambelezye.
15 The Jews therefore marveled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
Ayahudi bhaswigaga na nayanje, “Huu namna wele omuntu amanye enongwa enyinji? Sasambeleye nkahashe.”
16 Jesus therefore answered them, and said, My teaching is not mine, but his that sent me.
O Yesu ayanga naje, “Emanyizyo zyane se zyaline, ila zyoola wantumile.
17 If any one is desirous to do his will, he will know concerning the teaching, whether it is from God, or whether I speak from myself.
Nkashe wawonti anzasongwe abhombe olusongwo lwakwe omwene, anzamanye emanyizyo ezi, aje zifuma hwa Ngolobhe, au aje eyanga afume huline nene.
18 He that speaketh from himself seeketh his own glory; but he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, he is true, and in him is no unrighteousness.
Shila wayanga gagafuma hwa mwene yoyo ahwenza umwamu wakwe, na shila wahwanza oumwamu wakwe omwene wantumile, omuntu omuntu oyo we lyoli, na muhati yakwe nahumo abhombeshe zye malenka.
19 Hath not Moses given you the Law? and none of you keepeth the Law! Why do ye seek to kill me?
O Musa sagabhapiye amwe endajizyo? Ila nomo hata weka hulimwe wabhomba endajizyo. Yenyu muhwanza ambude?
20 The multitude answered, Thou hast a demon! Who seeketh to kill thee?
Amabhongano gayanga, “Aje oli na mapepo. Wenu wahanza ahubude?”
21 Jesus answered and said to them, I have done one good work, and ye are all wondering.
O Yesu wayanga wagaa, “Ombombile embombo yeeka, namwe mwenti muswijile afuatanajenesho.
22 Moses hath given you circumcision, (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers; ) and ye on the sabbath circumcise a man.
O Musa abhapiye etohara (sio aje efuma hwa Musa, ila efuma hwa daada), na hu Sabato mhutahiri omuntu.
23 If a man receive circumcision on the sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken, are ye angry at me, because I have restored soundness to the whole body of a man on the sabbath?
Nkashe omuntu anzaposhele etohara hwi siku lye Sabato aje endajizyo zya Musa zinganje nankanywe, yeenu munvitwa ane afwatanaje ebheshele omuntu abhe mwinza kabisa hu Sabato?
24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
Mganje alonje alengane sha mlola, ila alonje hulyoli.
25 Then some of the men of Jerusalem said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill?
Bhamo bhamo uYelusalemu bhaga, “Seyayono wabhahu mwanza ahude?
26 and see! he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing to him. Have the rulers discovered certainly that this man is the Christ?
Enya, oyanga pazelu, na sebhayanga hahonti alengane no mwene. Sawezizye aje egabha aje alongozi bhamenye elyoli aje ono yo Kilisiti, ewezizye abhe?
27 Still, as to this man, we know whence he is; but when the Christ cometh, no one knoweth whence he is.
Timenye aje omuntu ono afumila hwii. O Kilisti lwayenza, atasheshii, nomo wailola aje afuma hwii.”
28 Jesus therefore cried aloud, teaching in the temple and saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am; and I have not come of myself, but there is in truth one who sent me, whom ye know not.
O Yesu afumiaga izu lyakwe mwibhanza, asambele zyaga naje, “Amwe mwenti mumenye ane na mumeenye hwe fuma. Senamenye hubele gwane, ila omwene wantumile welyoli, semumenye omwene.
29 I know him, because I am from him, and he hath sent me.
Emenye omwene afuatanaje enfumile hwa mwene na antumile.”
30 Therefore they sought to take him; but no one laid hands on him, because his hour had not yet come.
Bhalenga ahaate, ila nomo ata omo wabhosezye okhono gwakwe ahusu omwene afuatanaje esaa yakwe yaali seele afishe.
31 But of the multitude many believed in him, and said, When the Christ cometh, will he do more signs than these which this man doeth?
Hata sheshi bhinji mubhongano bhamwetesheye. Bhajile, “Kilisiti lwa yeenza, aibhomba embombo nyinji ashile zyabhombile omuntu ono?”
32 The Pharisees heard the multitude thus debating concerning him; and the chief priest and the Pharisees sent officers to seize him.
Amafarisayo bhabhonvwezye amawongano wakwepelena enongwa ezi eshi oYesu, na agosi bha dimi na Mafarisayo bhatumile amaafisa aje ahukhate.
33 Jesus therefore said, Yet a little while I am with you, and then I go to him that sent me.
O Yesu nkayanga, “Ali seele insiku ndodo embabhe pandwemo namwe, napamande naibhala hwa mwene wantumile.
34 Ye will seek me and not find me; and where I am, ye cannot come.
Munanza ila semubhandole; hula hwembala, semubhawezye ahwenze.”
35 The Jews therefore said among themselves, Whither will this man go, that we shall not find him? Will he go to the dispersed among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?
Abhayaudi bhayangama bhene hu bhene, “Omuntu ono anzabhale hwii aje tipotwe ahulole? Anzabhale hwa bhabhanyampene mhati ya yunanu bhamanyinzye Ayunani?
36 What meaneth this which he said, Ye will seek me, and not find me; and where I am, ye cannot come?
Nongwa bhole ene yayanjile, 'Mwainanza nantele semwainaga; hula hwembala semwaiwezya ahwenze'?”
37 On the last day, which is the great day, of the feast, Jesus stood and cried aloud, saying, If any one thirst, let him come to me, and drink.
Esalezi hunsiku zya mwisho, isiku igosi lye shikulukulu, pYesu ahemeleye azurizwe izu ajile, “Nkashe wa wonti ali ne sshomelwa, ayenze huline amwele.
38 He that believeth in me, from within him, as the Scripture hath said, will flow rivers of living water.
Omwene waneteshe ane, nanshi amazu shagayanjile, afume mhati yakwe ganza hwiteshe amasoho gemenze gewomi.”
39 But this he said of the Spirit, which those that believed in him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Ila ayanji ega alengane hushi Roho, afuatanaje bhala bhabhamwetesheye bhayihuposhela; Ompempo ali seele safumiziwe alengane naje oYesu ali samwamihwe.
40 Some of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, This is in truth the prophet. Others said, This is the Christ.
Bhamo bhelubhongano, nabhahomvwezye enongwa eezi, bhajile, “Yoli ono kuwaa.”
41 Others said, Doth the Christ then come from Galilee?
Bhamo bhayanjile, “Ono Kilisiti.” Ila bhamo bhamo bhajile, “yenu, oKilisiti awezya afume hu Galilaya?
42 Hath not the Scripture said, that the Christ cometh from the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the town where David was?
Amaazu segayanga aje oKilisiti aifuma hushikholo sha Daudi na afume hubenselehemu, hushi jiji shahali oDaudi?
43 So there was a division among the multitude because of him.
Shesho, pala pabhoha olugabhano mhati yelubhongamo alengane no mwahale.
44 And some of them wished to seize him; but no one laid hands on him.
Bhamo mhati yabho handabhakhete, ila nomo wagolosezye okhono gwakwe hwa mwene.
45 The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, Why did ye not bring him?
Bhala ofisa bhawela hwa gosi adimi na Mafarisayo, bhope bhabhabhozya, “Yenu semletile?”
46 The officers answered, Never man spoke like this man.
Amaofisa bhajile, “Nomo omunti wawayile ayanje nanshi ono haani.”
47 The Pharisees answered them, Have ye also been deceived?
Amafarisayo nkabhahaga, “Namwe nantele mtejile?
48 Hath any one of the rulers believed in him? or of the Pharisees?
Ahweli omuntu wawonti hwa gosi wahumweteha, au wawonti hwa Mafarisayo?
49 but this multitude that know not the Law are accursed.
Ila ebha amabhongano bhasebhemenye endwajizyo - wapete amakhosi.”
50 Nicodemus saith to them, being one of them,
O Nikodemo abhabhozya (omwene wabhaliye oYesu imwaha, ali pamo na Mafarisayo),
51 Doth our law judge a man, unless it first hear from him, and know what he doeth?
“Aje endajizyo zyetu ziholonga omuntu ila atejezewe na soti na amanye habhomba?”
52 They answered and said to him, Art thou too from Galilee? Search and see that no prophet ariseth from Galilee.
Bhayanjile na hubhozye, “Ivi nawe ofumila hu Galilaya? Anza na oyenye aje nomo okuwaa wafumila hu Galilaya.”
53 (Joh 7:53 - 8:12: This passage is omitted as ungenuine by Tischendorf and most critical editors of the Greek Testament. It is found in some manuscripts, but not in the most ancient. It is, however, very generally regarded as a genuine relic of the teaching of Christ, though not forming a part of the fourth Gospel. I give it in the text of Tregelles, omitting the words which he incloses in brackets. Tregelles, however, does not suppose it to be genuine.) [[And they went each to his house;
Pamande shila munti ahabhala akhaya yakwe.
