< John 7 >

1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for he would not walk in Judaea, because the Jews sought to kill him.
ⲁ̅ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲘⲈⲚⲈⲚⲤⲀ ⲚⲀⲒ ⲚⲀϤⲘⲞϢⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲚϪⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ϦⲈⲚϮⲄⲀⲖⲒⲖⲈⲀ ⲞⲨ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲚⲀϤⲞⲨⲰϢ ⲀⲚ ⲠⲈ ⲈⲘⲞϢⲒ ϦⲈⲚϮⲒⲞⲨⲆⲈⲀ ϪⲈ ⲚⲀⲨⲔⲰϮ ⲚⲤⲰϤ ⲠⲈ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲒⲒⲞⲨⲆⲀⲒ ⲈϦⲞⲐⲂⲈϤ.
2 Now the feast of the Jews, the feast of tabernacles, was at hand.
ⲃ̅ⲚⲀϤϦⲈⲚⲦ ⲆⲈ ⲚϪⲈⲠϢⲀⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲒⲒⲞⲨⲆⲀⲒ ϮⲤⲔⲎⲚⲞⲠⲎⲄⲒⲀ.
3 His brothers therefore said to him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see thy works which thou art doing.
ⲅ̅ⲠⲈϪⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲀϤ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲈϤⲤⲚⲎⲞⲨ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲞⲐⲂⲈⲔ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲦⲀⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲘⲀϢⲈ ⲚⲀⲔ ⲈϮⲒⲞⲨⲆⲈⲀ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲈⲔⲘⲀⲐⲎⲦⲎⲤ ⲚⲀⲨ ⲈⲚⲈⲔϨⲂⲎⲞⲨⲒ ⲈⲦⲈⲔⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ.
4 For no one doeth anything in secret, and yet himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou doest these things, manifest thyself to the world.
ⲇ̅ⲞⲨ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲘⲠⲀⲢⲈ ϨⲖⲒ ⲈⲢϨⲰⲂ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲈⲦϨⲎⲠ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲦⲈϤⲔⲰϮ ⲚⲤⲰϤ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲈⲐⲞⲨⲰⲚϨ ⲒⲤϪⲈ ⲬⲚⲀⲈⲢ ⲚⲀⲒ ⲞⲨⲞⲚϨⲔ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲘⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ.
5 For even his brothers did not believe in him.
ⲉ̅ⲞⲨⲆⲈ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲚⲈϤⲔⲈⲤⲚⲎⲞⲨ ⲚⲀⲨⲚⲀϨϮ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ⲀⲚ ⲠⲈ.
6 Jesus saith to them, My time is not yet come; but your time is always ready.
ⲋ̅ⲠⲈϪⲈ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ϪⲈ ⲠⲀⲤⲎⲞⲨ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲘⲠⲀⲦⲈϤⲒ ⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲎⲞⲨ ⲆⲈ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ϤⲤⲈⲂⲦⲰⲦ ⲚⲤⲎⲞⲨ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ.
7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that its works are evil.
ⲍ̅ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ϢϪⲞⲘ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲘⲈⲤⲦⲈ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲆⲈ ϤⲘⲞⲤϮ ⲘⲘⲞⲒ ϪⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ϮⲈⲢⲘⲈⲐⲢⲈ ⲈⲐⲂⲎⲦϤ ϪⲈ ⲚⲈϤϨⲂⲎⲞⲨⲒ ⲤⲈϨⲰⲞⲨ.
8 Go ye up to the feast; I go not up to this feast; for my time is not yet fully come.
ⲏ̅ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲆⲈ ⲘⲀϢⲈ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈϨⲢⲎⲒ ⲈⲠϢⲀⲒ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲆⲈ ⲚϮⲚⲀⲒ ⲀⲚ ⲈϨⲢⲎⲒ ⲈⲠⲒϢⲀⲒ ϪⲈ ⲘⲠⲀⲦⲈ ⲠⲀⲤⲎⲞⲨ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ϪⲰⲔ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ.
9 Having said these things, he remained in Galilee.
ⲑ̅ⲚⲀⲒ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲦⲀϤϪⲞⲦⲞⲨ ⲚⲐⲞϤ ϦⲈⲚϮⲄⲀⲖⲒⲖⲈⲀ.
10 But when his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not openly, but as it were in secret.
ⲓ̅ϨⲞⲦⲈ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲦⲀⲨϢⲈ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ⲈϨⲢⲎⲒ ⲈⲠϢⲀⲒ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲈϤⲤⲚⲎⲞⲨ ⲦⲞⲦⲈ ⲚⲐⲞϤ ϨⲰϤ ⲀϤⲒ ⲈϨⲢⲎⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲞⲨⲰⲚϨ ⲀⲚ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ϨⲰⲤ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲬⲰⲠ.
11 The Jews therefore sought him at the feast, and said, Where is that man?
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲚⲒⲒⲞⲨⲆⲀⲒ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲚⲀⲨⲔⲰϮ ⲚⲤⲰϤ ⲠⲈ ϦⲈⲚⲠϢⲀⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲀⲨϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲀϤⲐⲰⲚ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲈⲘⲘⲀⲨ.
12 And there was much debating among the multitude concerning him. Some said, He is a good man; others said, Nay, but he deceiveth the multitude.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲈⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲞⲨⲚⲒϢϮ ⲚⲬⲢⲈⲘⲢⲈⲘ ⲠⲈ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲘⲎϢ ⲈⲐⲂⲎⲦϤ ϨⲀⲚⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲘⲈⲚ ⲚⲀⲨϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲀⲄⲀⲐⲞⲤ ⲠⲈ ϨⲀⲚⲔⲈⲬⲰⲞⲨⲚⲒ ⲆⲈ ⲚⲀⲨϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲀϤⲤⲰⲢⲈⲘ ⲘⲠⲒⲘⲎϢ.
13 No one, however, spoke openly of him, for fear of the Jews.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲘⲠⲈ ϨⲖⲒ ⲘⲈⲚⲦⲞⲒ ⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲈⲐⲂⲎⲦϤ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲞⲨⲰⲚϨ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ⲦϨⲞϮ ⲚⲚⲒⲒⲞⲨⲆⲀⲒ.
14 But when it was now the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ϨⲎⲆⲎ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲦⲀ ⲠⲒϢⲀⲒ ⲈⲢⲪⲀϢⲒ ⲀϤⲒ ⲚϪⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲈϨⲢⲎⲒ ⲈⲠⲒⲈⲢⲪⲈⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲀϤϮⲤⲂⲰ ⲠⲈ.
15 The Jews therefore marveled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲚⲀⲨⲈⲢϢⲪⲎⲢⲒ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲠⲈ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲒⲒⲞⲨⲆⲀⲒ ⲈⲨϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲠⲰⲤ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲚⲤϦⲀⲒ ⲘⲠⲈϤⲤⲀⲂⲞ.
16 Jesus therefore answered them, and said, My teaching is not mine, but his that sent me.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲀϤⲈⲢⲞⲨⲰ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ⲚϪⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲠⲈϪⲀϤ ϪⲈ ⲦⲀⲤⲂⲰ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲐⲰⲒ ⲀⲚ ⲦⲈ.
17 If any one is desirous to do his will, he will know concerning the teaching, whether it is from God, or whether I speak from myself.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲪⲎ ⲈⲐⲚⲀⲈⲢⲪⲞⲨⲰϢ ⲘⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲦⲀⲞⲨⲞⲒ ⲈϤⲈⲤⲞⲨⲈⲚ ⲦⲀⲤⲂⲰ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲦⲈ ϢⲀⲚ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲠⲈⲦⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲞⲦ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦ.
18 He that speaketh from himself seeketh his own glory; but he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, he is true, and in him is no unrighteousness.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲞⲦϤ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦϤ ⲀϤⲔⲰϮ ⲚⲤⲀⲠⲈϤⲰⲞⲨ ⲘⲘⲒⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲪⲎ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲦⲔⲰϮ ⲚⲤⲀⲠⲰⲞⲨ ⲘⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲦⲀⲞⲨⲞϤ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲞⲨⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ⲀⲆⲒⲔⲒⲀ ⲚϦⲎ ⲦϤ.
19 Hath not Moses given you the Law? and none of you keepeth the Law! Why do ye seek to kill me?
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲘⲎ ⲘⲰⲨⲤⲎⲤ ⲀⲚ ⲀϤϮ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲘⲠⲒⲚⲞⲘⲞⲤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ϨⲖⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲈϤⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲠⲒⲚⲞⲘⲞⲤ ⲈⲐⲂⲈⲞⲨ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲔⲰϮ ⲚⲤⲰⲒ ⲈϦⲞⲐⲂⲈⲦ.
20 The multitude answered, Thou hast a demon! Who seeketh to kill thee?
ⲕ̅ⲀϤⲈⲢⲞⲨⲰ ⲆⲈ ⲚϪⲈⲠⲒⲘⲎϢ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲞⲨⲆⲈⲘⲰⲚ ⲚⲈⲘⲀⲔ ⲚⲒⲘ ⲠⲈⲦⲔⲰϮ ⲚⲤⲰⲔ ⲈϦⲞⲐⲂⲈⲔ.
21 Jesus answered and said to them, I have done one good work, and ye are all wondering.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲀϤⲈⲢⲞⲨⲰ ⲚϪⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲠⲈϪⲀϤ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨϨⲰⲂ ⲚⲞⲨⲰⲦ ⲠⲈⲦⲀⲒⲀⲒϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢϢⲪⲎ ⲢⲒ ⲦⲎⲢⲞⲨ
22 Moses hath given you circumcision, (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers; ) and ye on the sabbath circumcise a man.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲈⲐⲂⲈⲪⲀⲒ ⲀⲘⲰⲨⲤⲎⲤ ϮⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲘⲠⲒⲤⲈⲂⲒ ⲞⲨⲬ ⲞⲦⲒ ϪⲈ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲘⲰⲨⲤⲎⲤ ⲠⲈ ⲠⲒⲤⲈⲂⲒ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲒⲒⲞϮ ⲠⲈ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲈⲂⲒ ⲚⲞⲨⲢⲰⲘⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲤⲀⲂⲂⲀⲦⲞⲚ
23 If a man receive circumcision on the sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken, are ye angry at me, because I have restored soundness to the whole body of a man on the sabbath?
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲒⲤϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲞⲨⲢⲰⲘⲒ ⲚⲀϬⲒ ⲘⲠⲒⲤⲈⲂⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲤⲀⲂⲂⲀⲦⲞⲚ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ϪⲈ ⲚⲚⲈϤⲂⲰⲖ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲚϪⲈⲠⲒⲚⲞⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲦⲈⲘⲰⲨⲤⲎⲤ ⲒⲈ ⲈⲐⲂⲈⲞⲨ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚϪⲰⲚⲦ ⲈⲢⲞⲒ ϪⲈ ⲀⲒⲐⲢⲈ ⲞⲨⲢⲰⲘⲒ ⲦⲎⲢϤ ⲞⲨϪⲀⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲤⲀⲂⲂⲀⲦⲞⲚ.
24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲘⲠⲈⲢϮϨⲀⲠ ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ϨⲞ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲘⲀϨⲀⲠ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨϨⲀⲠ ⲘⲘⲎⲒ.
25 Then some of the men of Jerusalem said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill?
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲚⲀⲨϪⲰ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ⲠⲈ ⲚϪⲈϨⲀⲚⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲀ ⲒⲈⲢⲞⲤⲀⲖⲎⲘ ϪⲈ ⲘⲎ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲀⲚ ⲠⲈ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲞⲨⲔⲰϮ ⲚⲤⲰϤ ⲈϦⲞⲐⲂⲈϤ.
26 and see! he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing to him. Have the rulers discovered certainly that this man is the Christ?
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ϨⲎⲠⲠⲈ ϤⲤⲀϪⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲠⲀⲢⲢⲎⲤⲒⲀ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲤⲈϪⲈ ϨⲖⲒ ⲚⲀϤ ⲀⲚ ⲘⲎⲠⲰⲤ ⲢⲰ ⲀⲨⲈⲘⲒ ⲦⲀⲪⲘⲎⲒ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲒⲀⲢⲬⲰⲚ ϪⲈ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ.
27 Still, as to this man, we know whence he is; but when the Christ cometh, no one knoweth whence he is.
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲐⲰⲚ ⲠⲈ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲆⲈ ⲀϤϢⲀⲚⲒ ⲘⲘⲞⲚ ϨⲖⲒ ⲚⲀⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲐⲰⲚ ⲠⲈ.
28 Jesus therefore cried aloud, teaching in the temple and saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am; and I have not come of myself, but there is in truth one who sent me, whom ye know not.
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲀϤⲰϢ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲚϪⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲈⲢⲪⲈⲒ ⲈϤϮⲤⲂⲰ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈϤϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ⲈⲦⲀⲒⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲐⲰⲚ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲈⲦⲀⲒⲒ ⲀⲚ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲞⲦ ⲘⲘⲀⲨⲀⲦ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲞⲨⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲦⲀⲞⲨⲞⲒ ⲪⲎ ⲚⲐⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲀⲚ.
29 I know him, because I am from him, and he hath sent me.
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲆⲈ ϮⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ϪⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ⲞⲨⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲪⲎ ⲠⲈ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲦⲀⲞⲨⲞⲒ.
30 Therefore they sought to take him; but no one laid hands on him, because his hour had not yet come.
ⲗ̅ⲚⲀⲨⲔⲰϮ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲈⲦⲀϨⲞϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲘⲠⲈ ϨⲖⲒ ⲈⲚ ⲚⲈϤϪⲒϪ ⲈϨⲢⲎⲒ ⲈϪⲰϤ ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲎⲒ ⲚⲈⲘⲠⲀⲦⲈⲤⲒ ⲚϪⲈⲦⲈϤⲞⲨⲚⲞⲨ.
31 But of the multitude many believed in him, and said, When the Christ cometh, will he do more signs than these which this man doeth?
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ϨⲀⲚⲘⲎϢ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲀⲨⲚⲀϨϮ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲘⲎϢ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲀⲨϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲈϢⲰⲠ ⲀϤϢⲀⲚⲒ ⲘⲎ ϤⲚⲀⲈⲢ ϨⲞⲨⲞ ⲢⲰ ⲈⲚⲀⲒⲘⲎⲒⲚⲒ ⲈⲦⲀ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲀⲒⲦⲞⲨ.
32 The Pharisees heard the multitude thus debating concerning him; and the chief priest and the Pharisees sent officers to seize him.
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲀⲨⲤⲰⲦⲈⲘ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲒⲪⲀⲢⲒⲤⲈⲞⲤ ⲈⲚⲒⲘⲎϢ ⲈⲨⲬⲢⲈⲘⲢⲈⲘ ⲚⲚⲀⲒ ⲈⲐⲂⲎⲦϤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀⲨⲞⲨⲰⲢⲠ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲒⲀⲢⲬⲒⲈⲢⲈⲨⲤ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲚⲒⲪⲀⲢⲒⲤⲈⲞⲤ ⲚϨⲀⲚϨⲨⲠⲎ ⲢⲈⲦⲎⲤ ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲤⲈⲦⲀϨⲞϤ.
33 Jesus therefore said, Yet a little while I am with you, and then I go to him that sent me.
ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ⲠⲈϪⲈ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲞⲨⲚ ϪⲈ ⲈⲦⲒ ⲔⲈⲔⲞⲨϪⲒ ⲚⲬⲢⲞⲚⲞⲤ ϮϢⲞⲠ ⲚⲈⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ϮⲚⲀϢⲈ ⲚⲎⲒ ϨⲀ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲦⲀⲞⲨⲞⲒ.
34 Ye will seek me and not find me; and where I am, ye cannot come.

35 The Jews therefore said among themselves, Whither will this man go, that we shall not find him? Will he go to the dispersed among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?

36 What meaneth this which he said, Ye will seek me, and not find me; and where I am, ye cannot come?

37 On the last day, which is the great day, of the feast, Jesus stood and cried aloud, saying, If any one thirst, let him come to me, and drink.

38 He that believeth in me, from within him, as the Scripture hath said, will flow rivers of living water.
ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ⲪⲎ ⲈⲐⲚⲀϨϮ ⲈⲢⲞⲒ ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲈⲦⲀⲤϪⲞⲤ ⲚϪⲈϮⲄⲢⲀⲪⲎ ϪⲈ ϨⲀⲚⲒⲀⲢⲰⲞⲨ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲰⲚϦ ⲈⲐⲚⲀϦⲀϮ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲦⲈϤⲚⲈϪⲒ.
39 But this he said of the Spirit, which those that believed in him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
ⲗ̅ⲑ̅ⲪⲀⲒ ⲆⲈ ⲀϤϪⲞϤ ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ⲠⲒⲠⲚⲈⲨⲘⲀⲈⲚⲀⲨⲚⲀϬ ⲒⲦϤ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲎ ⲈⲐⲚⲀϨϮ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ⲚⲈⲘⲠⲀⲦⲈ ⲠⲚⲈⲨⲘⲀⲄⲀⲢ ϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲠⲈ ϪⲈ ⲚⲈⲘⲠⲀⲦⲈ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ϬⲒⲰⲞⲨ ⲠⲈ.
40 Some of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, This is in truth the prophet. Others said, This is the Christ.
ⲙ̅ϨⲀⲚⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲘⲎϢ ⲈⲦⲀⲨⲤⲰⲦⲈⲘ ⲈⲚⲀⲒⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲚⲀⲨϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲦⲀⲪⲘⲎⲒ ⲪⲀⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲠⲒⲠⲢⲞⲪⲎⲦⲎⲤ.
41 Others said, Doth the Christ then come from Galilee?

42 Hath not the Scripture said, that the Christ cometh from the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the town where David was?
ⲙ̅ⲃ̅ⲘⲎ ⲚⲈⲦⲀⲤϪⲞⲤ ⲀⲚ ⲚϪⲈϮⲄⲢⲀⲪⲎ ϪⲈ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲠϪⲢⲞϪ ⲚⲆⲀⲨⲒⲆ ⲠⲈ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ϪⲈ ⲀⲢⲈ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲚⲎⲞⲨ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲂⲎⲐⲖⲈⲈⲘ ⲠⲒϮⲘⲒ ⲈⲚⲀⲢⲈ ⲆⲀⲨⲒⲆ ⲬⲎ ⲘⲘⲀⲨ.
43 So there was a division among the multitude because of him.
ⲙ̅ⲅ̅ⲞⲨⲤⲬⲒⲤⲘⲀ ⲞⲨⲚ ⲀϤϢⲰⲠⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲘⲎ ϢⲈⲐⲂⲎⲦϤ.
44 And some of them wished to seize him; but no one laid hands on him.

45 The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, Why did ye not bring him?

46 The officers answered, Never man spoke like this man.

47 The Pharisees answered them, Have ye also been deceived?
ⲙ̅ⲍ̅ⲀⲨⲈⲢⲞⲨⲰ ⲆⲈ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲒⲪⲀⲢⲒⲤⲈⲞⲤ ⲈⲨϪⲰ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ϪⲈ ⲘⲎ ⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲢⲈⲘ ϨⲰⲦⲈⲚ.
48 Hath any one of the rulers believed in him? or of the Pharisees?
ⲙ̅ⲏ̅ⲘⲎ ⲀϨⲖⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲒⲀⲢⲬⲰⲚ ⲚⲀϨϮ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ⲒⲈ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲒⲪⲀⲢⲒⲤⲈⲞⲤ.
49 but this multitude that know not the Law are accursed.
ⲙ̅ⲑ̅ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲠⲀⲒⲘⲎϢ ⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲈⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲠⲒⲚⲞⲘⲞⲤ ⲀⲚ ⲤⲈⲬⲎ ϦⲀ ⲠⲤⲀϨⲞⲨⲒ.
50 Nicodemus saith to them, being one of them,
ⲛ̅ⲠⲈϪⲈ ⲚⲒⲔⲞⲆⲎⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲒ ϨⲀ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲚϢⲞⲢⲠ ⲚϪⲰⲢϨ ⲈⲞⲨⲀⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲚϦⲎⲦⲞⲨ.
51 Doth our law judge a man, unless it first hear from him, and know what he doeth?

52 They answered and said to him, Art thou too from Galilee? Search and see that no prophet ariseth from Galilee.
