John 6
1 After these things Jesus went away across the lake of Galilee, that of Tiberias.
இவை நடந்த கொஞ்சக் காலத்திற்கு பின்பு, இயேசு கலிலேயா கடலின் மறுகரைக்குச் சென்றார். இது திபேரியா கடல் என்றும் அழைக்கப்பட்டது.
2 And a great multitude followed him, because they saw the signs which he wrought on the diseased.
நோயாளிகளுக்கு இயேசு செய்த அடையாளங்களை கண்டிருந்ததினால், மக்கள் பெருங்கூட்டமாக அவரைப் பின்பற்றிச் சென்றார்கள்.
3 And Jesus went up into the mountain, and sat there with his disciples.
அப்பொழுது இயேசு ஒரு மலைச்சரிவில் ஏறிப்போய், தமது சீடர்களுடன் உட்கார்ந்தார்.
4 And the passover, the feast of the Jews, was near.
யூதருடைய பஸ்கா என்ற பண்டிகை சமீபமாயிருந்தது.
5 Jesus then lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great crowd was coming to him, saith to Philip, Whence are we to buy bread, that these may eat?
இயேசு நிமிர்ந்து பார்த்தபோது, மக்கள் பெருங்கூட்டமாகத் தம்மிடம் வருவதைக் கண்டார். அவர் பிலிப்புவிடம், “இந்த மக்கள் சாப்பிடும்படி உணவை நாம் எங்கே வாங்கலாம்?” என்று கேட்டார்.
6 But this he said to try him; for he himself knew what he was going to do.
அவனைச் சோதித்துப் பார்ப்பதற்காகவே இயேசு அதைக் கேட்டார். ஏனெனில் தாம் என்ன செய்யப்போகிறார் என்று அவர் ஏற்கெனவே தீர்மானித்திருந்தார்.
7 Philip answered him, Two hundred denaries' worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that each one may take a tittle.
பிலிப்பு இயேசுவுக்கு மறுமொழியாக, “ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் ஒரு கைப்பிடி அளவு உணவு கொடுத்தால்கூட, இவர்களுக்காக உணவு வாங்க, ஆறுமாதச் சம்பளம் போதாதே!” என்றான்.
8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith to him,
அவருடைய சீடர்களில் இன்னொருவனான சீமோன் பேதுருவின் சகோதரன் அந்திரேயா அவரிடம்,
9 There is a lad here, who hath five barley-loaves, and two small fishes; but what are they among so many?
“இங்கே ஒரு சிறுவனிடம் ஐந்து வாற்கோதுமை அப்பங்களும், இரண்டு சிறு மீன்களும் இருக்கின்றன. ஆனால் இவ்வளவு பெரும் கூட்டமான மக்களுக்கு அது எப்படிப் போதும்?” என்றான்.
10 Jesus said, Make the men lie down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men lay down, in number about five thousand.
அதற்கு இயேசுவோ, “மக்களை உட்காரச் செய்யுங்கள்” என்றார். அந்த இடமோ புல் நிறைந்த தரையாய் இருந்தது. எனவே மக்கள் உட்கார்ந்தார்கள். அவர்களில் ஆண்கள் மட்டும் ஏறக்குறைய ஐயாயிரம் பேராயிருந்தார்கள்.
11 Jesus then took the loaves, and having given thanks, distributed to those that were lying down; in like manner also of the fishes, as much as they desired.
அப்பொழுது இயேசு அந்த அப்பங்களை எடுத்து, இறைவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தியபின் அங்கு உட்கார்ந்திருப்பவர்களுக்கு வேண்டியமட்டும் பகிர்ந்து கொடுத்தார். மீன்களையும் அவ்விதமாகவே கொடுத்தார்.
12 And when they were filled, he saith to his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain over, that nothing may be lost.
அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் திருப்தியாய் சாப்பிட்டு முடிந்ததும், இயேசு சீடர்களிடம், “மீதியாயிருக்கும் அப்பத்துண்டுகளை சேர்த்து எடுத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள். அவைகளில் ஒன்றையும் வீணாக்கக் கூடாது” என்றார்.
13 So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley-loaves, which remained over and above to those that had eaten.
அப்படியே அவர்கள் மீந்தவற்றைச் சேர்த்தெடுத்தார்கள். அந்த ஐந்து வாற்கோதுமை அப்பத்தின் துண்டுகளிலிருந்து சாப்பிட்டு மீதியாய் விடப்பட்டவற்றை அவர்கள் பன்னிரண்டு கூடைகளில் நிரப்பினார்கள்.
14 The men therefore seeing the sign which he wrought, said, This is truly the prophet that was to come into the world.
இயேசு செய்த அந்த அற்புத அடையாளத்தை மக்கள் கண்டபோது, “நிச்சயமாக இவரே உலகத்திற்கு வரவேண்டியிருந்த இறைவாக்கினர்” என்று சொல்லத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.
15 Jesus therefore, knowing that they were about to come and take him by force to make him a king, withdrew again to the mountain alone.
அவர்கள் தம்மைப் பலவந்தமாய் தங்களுடைய அரசனாக்க எண்ணியிருக்கிறார்கள் என்று இயேசு அறிந்தார். எனவே அவர் அவர்களைவிட்டு விலகி, மீண்டும் தனியாகவே ஒரு மலைக்குச் சென்றார்.
16 But when evening came, his disciples went down to the lake,
மாலையானபோது, அவருடைய சீடர்கள் மலையிலிருந்து இறங்கி கடலுக்குச் சென்றார்கள்.
17 and having gone on board a boat, were going over the lake to Capernaum. And darkness had overtaken them, and Jesus had not yet come to them.
அங்கே அவர்கள் ஒரு படகில் ஏறி, கடலைக் கடந்து கப்பர்நகூமுக்குப் போகப் புறப்பட்டார்கள். அப்பொழுது இருட்டிவிட்டது, இயேசுவோ இன்னும் அவர்களுடன் வந்து சேரவில்லை.
18 And as a strong wind was blowing, the waves ran high.
கடும் காற்று வீசிக்கொண்டிருந்தது. அதனால் கடல் கொந்தளித்தது.
19 When therefore they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they saw Jesus walking on the lake, and drawing near the boat; and they were afraid.
அவர்கள் ஐந்து அல்லது ஆறு கிலோமீட்டர் தூரம்வரை கட்டுப்படுத்திச் சென்றுகொண்டிருந்தபோது, இயேசு கடலின்மேல் நடந்து படகின் அருகில் வந்தார்; அவர்கள் அவரைக்கண்டு பயந்தார்கள்.
20 But he saith to them, It is I, be not afraid.
இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “நான்தான்; பயப்படவேண்டாம்” என்றார்.
21 Then they were willing to receive him into the boat; and immediately the boat was at the land whither they were going.
அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் அவரைப் படகில் ஏற்றிக்கொள்ள விரும்பினார்கள். ஏற்றிக்கொண்டவுடன் படகு அவர்கள் போய்ச் சேரவேண்டிய கரையை அடைந்தது.
22 The day following, the multitude which stood on the other side of the lake having seen that there was no other boat there but one, and that Jesus did not go with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples went away alone,
மறுநாள் கடலின் மறுகரையில் தங்கியிருந்த மக்கள், அங்கே ஒரு படகு மட்டுமே இருந்தது என்றும், அதிலே இயேசு தமது சீடர்களுடன் ஏறவில்லை என்றும், சீடர்கள் மட்டுமே அதில் சென்றார்கள் என்றும் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.
23 (but there came other boats from Tiberias near the place where they ate the bread, when the Lord had given thanks; )
பின்பு திபேரியாவிலிருந்து சில படகுகள், கர்த்தர் நன்றி செலுத்தி பகிர்ந்து கொடுத்த அப்பத்தை மக்கள் சாப்பிட்ட இடத்தின் அருகே வந்துசேர்ந்தன.
24 when therefore the multitude saw that Jesus was not there nor his disciples, they went on board the boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
எனவே அங்கு கூடிவந்த மக்கள், இயேசுவும் அவருடைய சீடர்களும் அங்கு இல்லையென்று கண்டார்கள். உடனே அவர்கள் இயேசுவைத் தேடிக்கொண்டு அங்கிருந்த கப்பல்களில் ஏறி கப்பர்நகூமுக்குச் சென்றார்கள்.
25 And having found him on the other side of the lake, they said to him, Rabbi, when didst thou come hither?
கடலின் மறுகரையிலே அவர்கள் இயேசுவைக் கண்டபோது, அவர்கள் அவரிடம், “போதகரே, எப்பொழுது நீர் இங்கே வந்தீர்?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
26 Jesus answered them and said, Truly, truly do I say to you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw signs, but because ye ate of the loaves, and were filled.
அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “நான் உங்களுக்கு உண்மையைச் சொல்கிறேன், நீங்கள் அடையாளங்களைக் கண்டதினால் அல்ல, இங்கே திருப்தியாகச் சாப்பிட்டதினாலேயே என்னைத் தேடுகிறீர்கள்.
27 Labor not for the food that perisheth, but for the food that endureth to everlasting life, which the Son of man giveth to you; for on him hath the Father set his seal, even God. (aiōnios g166)
அழிந்துபோகும் உணவுக்காக வேலைசெய்யவேண்டாம், நித்திய வாழ்வுவரை நிலைநிற்கும் உணவுக்காகவே வேலைசெய்யுங்கள். அதை மானிடமகனாகிய நான் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பேன்; பிதாவாகிய இறைவன் என்மேலேயே தமது அங்கீகாரத்தின் முத்திரையைப் பதித்திருக்கிறார்” என்றார். (aiōnios g166)
28 Then they said to him, What are we to do, that we may work the works of God?
அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் இயேசுவிடம், “இறைவனுடைய வேலையை நிறைவேற்ற நாங்கள் என்ன செய்யவேண்டும்?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
29 Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that ye believe in him whom he sent.
இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு மறுமொழியாக, “இறைவன் அனுப்பிய என்னை விசுவாசிப்பதே இறைவனுடைய வேலை” என்றார்.
30 They said therefore to him, What sign doest thou, that we may see, and believe thee? What dost thou work?
அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் இயேசுவிடம், “நாங்கள் கண்டு உம்மை விசுவாசிக்கும்படி, நீர் எங்களுக்கு என்ன அடையாளத்தைக் கொடுப்பீர்? என்னத்தைச் செய்வீர்?
31 Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, as it is written, “He gave them bread from heaven to eat.”
எங்கள் முற்பிதாக்கள் பாலைவனத்தில் மன்னா என்னும் உணவைச் சாப்பிட்டார்களே; ‘அவர்கள் சாப்பிடுவதற்கு அவர் பரலோகத்திலிருந்து உணவு கொடுத்தார்’ என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறதே” என்றார்கள்.
32 Jesus therefore said to them, Truly, truly do I say to you, Moses hath not given you the bread from heaven; but my Father is giving you the true bread from heaven.
அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன், பரலோகத்திலிருந்து உங்களுக்கு உணவு கொடுத்தது மோசே அல்ல, என் பிதாவே பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வந்த உண்மையான உணவை உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கிறார்.
33 For the bread of God is that which is coming down from heaven, and giving life to the world.
பரலோகத்திலிருந்து இறங்கிவந்து, உலகத்துக்கு ஜீவன் கொடுக்கிற நானே இறைவனின் உணவு” என்றார்.
34 They said therefore to him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் இயேசுவிடம், “ஆண்டவரே, எப்பொழுதும் இந்த உணவை நீர் எங்களுக்குத் தாரும்” என்றார்கள்.
35 Jesus therefore said to them, I am the bread of life; he that cometh to me will not hunger; and he that believeth in me will never thirst.
அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “நானே ஜீவ அப்பம். என்னிடம் வருகிறவன் ஒருபோதும் பசியுடன் போகமாட்டான். என்னை விசுவாசிக்கிறவன் ஒருபோதும் தாகமடையமாட்டான்.
36 But I said to you, that ye have even seen, and do not believe.
நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னபடியே, நீங்கள் என்னைக் கண்டு இன்னும் விசுவாசியாமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள்.
37 All that the Father giveth me will come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out;
பிதா எனக்குக் கொடுக்கின்ற அனைவரும் என்னிடம் வருவார்கள். என்னிடம் வருகிற ஒருவரையும் நான் துரத்திவிடமாட்டேன்.
38 for I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
ஏனெனில் நான் என்னுடைய சித்தத்தைச் செய்வதற்காக அல்ல, என்னை அனுப்பினவருடைய சித்தத்தைச் செய்வதற்காகவே பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வந்திருக்கிறேன்.
39 And this is the will of him that sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up in the last day.
அவர் எனக்குத் தந்திருப்பவர்கள் எல்லோரிலும் நான் ஒருவரையும் இழந்துவிடக் கூடாது. கடைசி நாளிலே நான் அவர்களை எழுப்பவேண்டும் என்பதே என்னை அனுப்பினவருடைய சித்தமாயிருக்கிறது.
40 For this is the will of my Father, that every one who looketh on the Son and believeth in him, shall have everlasting life; and I will raise him up in the last day. (aiōnios g166)
என்னைக் கண்டு என்னில் விசுவாசம் வைக்கிற ஒவ்வொருவரும், நித்திய ஜீவனைப் பெறவேண்டும். கடைசி நாளில் நான் அவர்களை எழுப்பவேண்டும் என்பதே என் பிதாவின் சித்தமாயிருக்கிறது” என்றார். (aiōnios g166)
41 The Jews therefore murmured about him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven;
“நானே பரலோகத்திலிருந்து கீழே வந்த உணவு” என்று இயேசு சொன்னதால், யூதர்களில் சிலர் அவரைக்குறித்து முறுமுறுக்கத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.
42 and they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, one whose father and mother we know? How is it then that this man saith, I have come down from heaven?
அவர்கள் இயேசுவைப்பற்றி, “இவர் யோசேப்பின் மகன் இயேசு அல்லவா? இவருடைய தகப்பனையும் தாயையும் நமக்குத் தெரியுமே. அப்படியிருக்க, ‘நான் பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வந்தேன்’ என்று இப்பொழுது இவர் எப்படிச் சொல்லலாம்?” என்றார்கள்.
43 Jesus therefore answered and said to them, Murmur not among yourselves.
இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு மறுமொழியாக, “உங்களுக்குள்ளே முறுமுறுத்துக் கொள்வதை நிறுத்துங்கள்” என்றார்.
44 No one can come to me, unless the Father, who sent me, draw him: and I will raise him up in the last day.
“என்னை அனுப்பிய பிதா, ஒருவனை ஈர்த்துக்கொள்ளாவிட்டால், ஒருவரும் என்னிடத்தில் வரமாட்டார்கள். என்னிடம் வருகிறவரையோ நான் கடைசி நாளில் எழுப்புவேன்.
45 It is written in the prophets, “And they shall all be taught of God.” Every one that hath heard the Father, and hath learnt from him, cometh to me.
‘அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் இறைவனால் போதிக்கப்பட்டிருப்பார்கள்’ என்று இறைவாக்கினர்களால் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. அப்படியே பிதாவுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, அவரிடம் கற்றுக்கொள்கிற ஒவ்வொருவனும் என்னிடம் வருகிறான்.
46 Not that any one hath seen the Father, but he who is from God; he hath seen the Father.
இறைவனிடமிருந்து வந்த என்னைத்தவிர, ஒருவரும் பிதாவைக் கண்டதில்லை; நான் மட்டுமே பிதாவைக் கண்டிருக்கிறேன்.
மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன், என்னை விசுவாசிக்கிறவர்களுக்கு நித்திய ஜீவன் உண்டு. (aiōnios g166)
48 I am the bread of life.
நானே ஜீவ அப்பம்.
49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and died.
உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்கள் பாலைவனத்தில் மன்னா என்னும் உணவைச் சாப்பிட்டார்கள்; ஆனால் அவர்கள் இறந்துபோனார்களே.
50 This is the bread which is coming down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.
ஆனால் புசிக்கிறவர்கள் சாகாமல் இருக்கக்கூடிய அப்பம் இங்கு இருக்கிறது. அது பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வந்திருக்கிறது.
51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eat of my bread, he will live for ever. Yea, and the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh. (aiōn g165)
நானே பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வந்த ஜீவ அப்பம். யாராவது இந்த அப்பத்தைச் சாப்பிட்டால், அவர்கள் என்றென்றும் வாழ்வார்கள். உலகத்தின் வாழ்வுக்காக நான் கொடுக்கும் அப்பம் எனது மாம்சமே” என்றார். (aiōn g165)
52 The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள், “இவன் எப்படி தன் மாம்சத்தை நமக்குச் சாப்பிடக் கொடுப்பான்?” என்று தங்களுக்குள்ளே கடுமையாய் வாக்குவாதம் பண்ணத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.
53 Jesus therefore said to them, Truly, truly do I say to you, Unless ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன். நீங்கள் மானிடமகனாகிய எனது மாம்சத்தைச் சாப்பிட்டு, என்னுடைய இரத்தத்தை பானம் பண்ணாவிட்டால் உங்களுக்குள்ளே ஜீவன் இருக்கமாட்டாது.
54 He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath everlasting life; and I will raise him up in the last day. (aiōnios g166)
எனது மாம்சத்தைப் புசித்து, என் இரத்தத்தை பானம் பண்ணுகிறவருக்கு, நித்திய ஜீவன் உண்டு. நான் அவரை கடைசி நாளில் உயிரோடு எழுப்புவேன். (aiōnios g166)
55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
ஏனெனில் எனது மாம்சமே உண்மையான உணவு. எனது இரத்தமே உண்மையான பானம்.
56 He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood dwelleth in me, and I in him.
எனது மாம்சத்தைப் புசித்து, எனது இரத்தத்தைப் பானம் பண்ணுகிறவர், என்னில் தங்கி வாழ்கிறார். நானும் அவரில் வாழ்கிறேன்.
57 As the living Father sent me, and I live by reason of the Father; so he that eateth me, he also shall live by reason of me.
ஜீவனுள்ள பிதா என்னை அனுப்பினார். பிதாவின் நிமித்தமே நான் உயிர் வாழ்கிறேன். அதைப் போலவே என் மாம்சத்தைப் புசிக்கிறவர் என் நிமித்தம் வாழ்வடைவார்.
58 This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as the fathers ate, and died; he that eateth this bread will live for ever. (aiōn g165)
இதுவே பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வந்த அப்பம். உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்கள் மன்னா புசித்தும் இறந்துபோனார்கள். ஆனால் இந்த அப்பத்தைச் சாப்பிடுகிறவர் என்றென்றுமாய் வாழ்வார்” என்றார். (aiōn g165)
59 These things he said in a synagogue, while teaching in Capernaum.
இயேசு கப்பர்நகூமிலே ஜெப ஆலயத்தில் போதித்தபோது இதைச் சொன்னார்.
60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they heard this, said, This teaching is hard; who can listen to it?
இதைக் கேட்ட இயேசுவினுடைய சீடர்களில் பலர், “இது ஒரு கடுமையான போதனை. யாரால் இதை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள முடியும்?” என்றார்கள்.
61 Jesus therefore knew within himself that his disciples were murmuring about this, and said to them, Doth this offend you?
தமது சீடர்கள் இதைக்குறித்து முறுமுறுக்கிறார்கள் என்று இயேசு அறிந்து அவர்களிடம், “இது உங்கள் மனதுக்கு கஷ்டமாய் இருக்கிறதா?
62 What then if ye behold the Son of man ascending where he was before?
மானிடமகனாகிய நான் முன்பிருந்த இடத்திற்கு மேலெழுந்து போவதை நீங்கள் கண்டீர்களானால், அது உங்களுக்கு எப்படியிருக்கும்!
63 It is the spirit which maketh alive; the flesh profiteth nothing. The words which I have spoken to you are spirit, and are life.
பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரே ஜீவனைக் கொடுக்கிறார்; மாம்சமானதோ ஒன்றுக்கும் உதவாது. நான் உங்களுடன் பேசிய வார்த்தைகள் ஆவியானவரையும் ஜீவனையும் கொண்டுள்ளன.
64 But there are some of you who do not believe. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that did not believe, and who it was that would betray him.
ஆனால் உங்களில் சிலர் விசுவாசியாமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள்” என்றார். ஏனெனில் இயேசு தொடக்கத்திலிருந்தே அவர்களில் யார் தம்மை விசுவாசிக்கவில்லை என்றும், யார் தம்மைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பான் என்றும் அறிந்திருந்தார்.
65 And he said, For this cause I have told you, that no one can come to me, unless it hath been given him from the Father.
மேலும் இயேசு சொன்னதாவது, “யாரையாவது என் பிதா எனக்கு கொடுத்தால் மட்டுமே, அவர் என்னிடம் வரமுடியும் என்று இதனாலேயே நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன்” என்றார்.
66 From this time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
அப்பொழுதிலிருந்து இயேசுவின் சீடர்களில் பலர் அவரைவிட்டுத் திரும்பிப் போய்விட்டார்கள். தொடர்ந்து அவர்கள் அவரைப் பின்பற்றவில்லை.
67 Jesus therefore said to the twelve, Do ye also wish to go away?
அப்பொழுது இயேசு பன்னிரண்டு பேரிடமும், “நீங்களும் போய்விட விரும்புகிறீர்களா?” என்று கேட்டார்.
68 Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast words of everlasting life; (aiōnios g166)
சீமோன் பேதுரு அதற்குப் பதிலாக, “ஆண்டவரே, நாங்கள் யாரிடம் போவோம்? நித்திய ஜீவ வார்த்தைகள் உம்மிடம் அல்லவா உண்டு. (aiōnios g166)
69 and we have believed and known, that thou art the Holy One of God.
நீர் இறைவனின் பரிசுத்தர் என்று நாங்கள் விசுவாசித்தும் அறிந்தும் இருக்கிறோம்” என்றான்.
70 Jesus answered them, Did not I choose you twelve? and one of you is a devil!
