< John 6 >
1 After these things Jesus went away across the lake of Galilee, that of Tiberias.
Nthawi ina zitatha izi, Yesu anawolokera ku gombe la kutali la nyanja ya Galileya (iyi ndi nyanja ya Tiberiya),
2 And a great multitude followed him, because they saw the signs which he wrought on the diseased.
ndipo gulu lalikulu la anthu linamutsata Iye chifukwa linaona zizindikiro zodabwitsa zimene anazichita pa odwala.
3 And Jesus went up into the mountain, and sat there with his disciples.
Kenaka Yesu anakwera pa phiri nakhala pansi ndi ophunzira ake.
4 And the passover, the feast of the Jews, was near.
Tsopano phwando la Paska la Ayuda linali pafupi.
5 Jesus then lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great crowd was coming to him, saith to Philip, Whence are we to buy bread, that these may eat?
Yesu atakweza maso ndi kuona gulu lalikulu la anthu likubwera kwa Iye, anati kwa Filipo, “Kodi tingagule kuti buledi kuti anthu awa adye?”
6 But this he said to try him; for he himself knew what he was going to do.
Iye anafunsa izi kumuyesa chabe, pakuti Iye ankadziwa chimene ankayenera kuchita.
7 Philip answered him, Two hundred denaries' worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that each one may take a tittle.
Filipo anamuyankha Iye kuti, “Malipiro a miyezi isanu ndi itatu sangathe kugula buledi okwanira aliyense kuti adye!”
8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith to him,
Mmodzi wa ophunzira ake, Andreya, mʼbale wa Simoni Petro, anati,
9 There is a lad here, who hath five barley-loaves, and two small fishes; but what are they among so many?
“Pano pali mnyamata amene ali ndi buledi musanu wabarele ndi tinsomba tiwiri, kodi zingakwane onsewa?”
10 Jesus said, Make the men lie down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men lay down, in number about five thousand.
Yesu anati, “Awuzeni anthuwa akhale pansi.” Pamalo pamenepa panali udzu wambiri ndipo amuna amene anakhala pansi anali osachepera 5,000.
11 Jesus then took the loaves, and having given thanks, distributed to those that were lying down; in like manner also of the fishes, as much as they desired.
Kenaka Yesu anatenga bulediyo, atayamika anagawira iwo amene anakhala pansi, chimodzimodzinso nsombazo monga momwe iwo anafunira.
12 And when they were filled, he saith to his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain over, that nothing may be lost.
Ndipo atakhuta, Iye anati kwa ophunzira ake, “Tolani zotsala kuti pasawonongeke kanthu.”
13 So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley-loaves, which remained over and above to those that had eaten.
Choncho iwo anasonkhanitsa makombo nadzaza madengu khumi ndi awiri.
14 The men therefore seeing the sign which he wrought, said, This is truly the prophet that was to come into the world.
Pambuyo pake anthu ataona chizindikiro chodabwitsa chimene Yesu anachita, iwo anati, “Zoonadi uyu ndi Mneneri wakudzayo mʼdziko la pansi.”
15 Jesus therefore, knowing that they were about to come and take him by force to make him a king, withdrew again to the mountain alone.
Yesu atadziwa kuti iwo amafuna kubwera kudzamuwumiriza kuti akhale mfumu, anachoka napita ku phiri pa yekha.
16 But when evening came, his disciples went down to the lake,
Pofika madzulo, ophunzira ake anatsikira ku nyanja,
17 and having gone on board a boat, were going over the lake to Capernaum. And darkness had overtaken them, and Jesus had not yet come to them.
kumene iwo analowa mʼbwato ndi kuyamba kuwoloka nyanja kupita ku Kaperenawo. Tsopano kunali kutada ndipo Yesu anali asanabwerere kwa iwo.
18 And as a strong wind was blowing, the waves ran high.
Mphepo yamphamvu inawomba ndipo nyanja inalusa.
19 When therefore they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they saw Jesus walking on the lake, and drawing near the boat; and they were afraid.
Iwo atayenda makilomita asanu kapena asanu ndi limodzi, anaona Yesu akuyandikira bwatolo, akuyenda pa madzi; ndipo anachita mantha.
20 But he saith to them, It is I, be not afraid.
Koma Iye anawawuza kuti, “Ndine, musaope.”
21 Then they were willing to receive him into the boat; and immediately the boat was at the land whither they were going.
Ndipo iwo analola kumutenga mʼbwatomo, nthawi yomweyo bwatolo linafika ku gombe la nyanja kumene ankapita.
22 The day following, the multitude which stood on the other side of the lake having seen that there was no other boat there but one, and that Jesus did not go with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples went away alone,
Pa tsiku lotsatira gulu la anthu limene linatsala kumbali ina yanyanjayo linaona kuti panali bwato limodzi lokha, ndipo kuti Yesu sanalowe mʼbwatomo pamodzi ndi ophunzira ake, koma kuti ophunzirawo anapita okha.
23 (but there came other boats from Tiberias near the place where they ate the bread, when the Lord had given thanks; )
Kenaka mabwato ena ochokera ku Tiberiya anafika pafupi ndi pamalo pamene anthu anadya buledi Ambuye atayamika.
24 when therefore the multitude saw that Jesus was not there nor his disciples, they went on board the boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
Nthawi yomwe gulu la anthu linaona kuti Yesu kapena ophunzira ake sanali pamenepo, ilo linalowanso mʼmabwatowo ndi kupita ku Kaperenawo kukamufunafuna Yesu.
25 And having found him on the other side of the lake, they said to him, Rabbi, when didst thou come hither?
Atamupeza mbali ina ya nyanjayo, iwo anamufunsa Iye kuti, “Rabi, mwafika nthawi yanji kuno?”
26 Jesus answered them and said, Truly, truly do I say to you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw signs, but because ye ate of the loaves, and were filled.
Yesu anawayankha kuti, “Zoonadi, Ine ndikukuwuzani kuti mukundifuna, osati chifukwa munaona zizindikiro zodabwitsa koma chifukwa munadya chakudya ndi kukhuta.
27 Labor not for the food that perisheth, but for the food that endureth to everlasting life, which the Son of man giveth to you; for on him hath the Father set his seal, even God. (aiōnios )
Gwirani ntchito, osati chifukwa cha chakudya chimene chimawonongeka koma chifukwa cha chakudya chimene sichiwonongeka mpaka ku moyo wosatha, chimene Mwana wa Munthu adzakupatsani. Mulungu Atate anamusindikiza chizindikiro chomuvomereza.” (aiōnios )
28 Then they said to him, What are we to do, that we may work the works of God?
Kenaka anamufunsa Iye kuti, “Kodi tichite chiyani kuti tigwire ntchito za Mulungu?”
29 Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that ye believe in him whom he sent.
Yesu anayankha kuti, “Ntchito ya Mulungu ndi iyi: Kukhulupirira Iye amene anamutuma.”
30 They said therefore to him, What sign doest thou, that we may see, and believe thee? What dost thou work?
Choncho iwo anamufunsa Iye kuti, “Kodi mudzatipatsa chizindikiro chodabwitsa chotani kuti ife tichione ndi kukhulupirira Inu? Kodi mudzachita chiyani?
31 Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, as it is written, “He gave them bread from heaven to eat.”
Makolo athu akale anadya mana mʼchipululu; monga zalembedwa: ‘anawapatsa buledi wochokera kumwamba kuti adye.’”
32 Jesus therefore said to them, Truly, truly do I say to you, Moses hath not given you the bread from heaven; but my Father is giving you the true bread from heaven.
Yesu anawawuza kuti, “Zoonadi, Ine ndikukuwuzani kuti si Mose amene ankakupatsani chakudya chochokera kumwamba, koma ndi Atate anga amene ankakupatsani chakudya chenicheni chochokera kumwamba.
33 For the bread of God is that which is coming down from heaven, and giving life to the world.
Pakuti chakudya cha Mulungu ndi Iye amene wabwera kuchokera kumwamba ndi kupereka moyo ku dziko la pansi.”
34 They said therefore to him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
Iwo anati, “Ambuye, kuyambira tsopano muzitipatsa buledi ameneyu.”
35 Jesus therefore said to them, I am the bread of life; he that cometh to me will not hunger; and he that believeth in me will never thirst.
Kenaka Yesu ananenetsa kuti, “Ine ndine chakudya chamoyo. Iye amene abwera kwa Ine sadzamva njala, ndipo iye amene akhulupirira Ine sadzamva ludzu.
36 But I said to you, that ye have even seen, and do not believe.
Monga ndakuwuzani kale, ngakhale kuti mwandiona simukukhulupirirabe.
37 All that the Father giveth me will come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out;
Zonse zimene Atate andipatsa zidzabwera kwa Ine, ndipo aliyense amene adzabwera kwa Ine sindidzamutaya kunja.
38 for I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
Pakuti Ine ndinatsika kuchokera kumwamba osati kudzachita chifuniro changa koma cha Iye amene anandituma Ine.
39 And this is the will of him that sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up in the last day.
Ndipo chifuniro cha Iye amene anandituma Ine nʼchakuti ndisatayepo ngakhale ndi mmodzi yemwe mwa onse amene Iye wandipatsa, koma kuti ndidzawaukitse kwa akufa pa tsiku lomaliza.
40 For this is the will of my Father, that every one who looketh on the Son and believeth in him, shall have everlasting life; and I will raise him up in the last day. (aiōnios )
Pakuti chifuniro cha Atate anga ndi chakuti aliyense amene aona Mwanayo namukhulupirira akhale ndi moyo wosatha, ndipo Ine ndidzamuukitsa kwa akufa pa tsiku lomaliza.” (aiōnios )
41 The Jews therefore murmured about him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven;
Pamenepo Ayuda anayamba kungʼungʼudza chifukwa anati, “Ine ndine chakudya chotsika kuchokera kumwamba.”
42 and they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, one whose father and mother we know? How is it then that this man saith, I have come down from heaven?
Iwo anati, “Kodi uyu si Yesu, mwana wa Yosefe, amene abambo ake ndi amayi ake timawadziwa? Nanga Iyeyu akunena bwanji kuti, ‘Ine ndinatsika kuchokera kumwamba?’”
43 Jesus therefore answered and said to them, Murmur not among yourselves.
Yesu anayankha kuti, “Musangʼungʼudze pakati panu.”
44 No one can come to me, unless the Father, who sent me, draw him: and I will raise him up in the last day.
Palibe munthu amene angabwere kwa Ine, ngati Atate amene anandituma Ine samubweretsa. Ndipo Ine ndidzamuukitsa kwa akufa pa tsiku lomaliza.
45 It is written in the prophets, “And they shall all be taught of God.” Every one that hath heard the Father, and hath learnt from him, cometh to me.
Aneneri analemba kuti, “Onse adzaphunzitsidwa ndi Mulungu! Aliyense amene amamva Atate ndi kuphunzira kwa Iye amabwera kwa Ine.
46 Not that any one hath seen the Father, but he who is from God; he hath seen the Father.
Palibe amene anaona Atate koma yekhayo amene achokera kwa Mulungu; yekhayo ndiye anaona Atate.
47 Truly, truly do I say to you, He that believeth hath everlasting life. (aiōnios )
Zoonadi, Ine ndikukuwuzani kuti Iye amene akhulupirira ali nawo moyo wosatha. (aiōnios )
48 I am the bread of life.
Ine ndine chakudya chamoyo.
49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and died.
Makolo anu akale anadya mana mʼchipululu, komabe anafa.
50 This is the bread which is coming down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.
Koma pano pali chakudya chochokera kumwamba, chimene munthu akadya sangafe.
51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eat of my bread, he will live for ever. Yea, and the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh. (aiōn )
Ine ndine chakudya chamoyo chochokera kumwamba. Ngati munthu adya chakudya ichi, adzakhala ndi moyo nthawi zonse. Chakudya chimenechi ndi thupi langa, limene Ine ndidzalipereka kuti anthu pa dziko lapansi akhale ndi moyo.” (aiōn )
52 The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
Kenaka Ayuda anayamba kutsutsana kwambiri pakati pawo kuti, “Kodi munthu uyu angathe kutipatsa bwanji thupi lake kuti tidye?”
53 Jesus therefore said to them, Truly, truly do I say to you, Unless ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
Yesu anawawuza kuti, “Zoonadi, Ine ndikukuwuzani kuti ngati simungadye thupi la Mwana wa Munthu ndi kumwa magazi ake, simungakhale ndi moyo mwa inu.
54 He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath everlasting life; and I will raise him up in the last day. (aiōnios )
Aliyense amene adya thupi langa ndi kumwa magazi anga ali ndi moyo wosatha ndipo Ine ndidzamuukitsa kwa akufa pa tsiku lomaliza. (aiōnios )
55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
Pakuti thupi langa ndi chakudya chenicheni ndipo magazi anga ndi chakumwa chenicheni.
56 He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood dwelleth in me, and I in him.
Aliyense amene adya thupi langa ndi kumwa magazi anga amakhala mwa Ine, ndi Ine mwa iye.
57 As the living Father sent me, and I live by reason of the Father; so he that eateth me, he also shall live by reason of me.
Monga Atate amoyo anandituma Ine, ndipo ndili ndi moyo chifukwa cha Atatewo, chomwechonso amene adya thupi langa adzakhala ndi moyo chifukwa cha Ine.
58 This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as the fathers ate, and died; he that eateth this bread will live for ever. (aiōn )
Ichi ndiye chakudya chimene chinatsika kuchokera kumwamba. Makolo athu akale anadya mana ndi kufa, koma iye amene adya chakudya ichi, adzakhala ndi moyo nthawi yonse.” (aiōn )
59 These things he said in a synagogue, while teaching in Capernaum.
Iye ankanena izi pamene ankaphunzitsa mʼsunagoge mu Kaperenawo.
60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they heard this, said, This teaching is hard; who can listen to it?
Pakumva izi ambiri a ophunzira ake anati, “Ichi ndi chiphunzitso chovuta. Angachilandire ndani?”
61 Jesus therefore knew within himself that his disciples were murmuring about this, and said to them, Doth this offend you?
Pozindikira kuti ophunzira ake ankangʼungʼudza, Yesu anawafunsa kuti, “Kodi izi zikukukhumudwitsani?
62 What then if ye behold the Son of man ascending where he was before?
Nanga mutaona Mwana wa Munthu akukwera kupita kumene Iye anali poyamba!
63 It is the spirit which maketh alive; the flesh profiteth nothing. The words which I have spoken to you are spirit, and are life.
Mzimu Woyera apereka moyo, thupi silipindula kanthu. Mawu amene ndayankhula kwa inu ndiwo mzimu ndipo ndi moyo.
64 But there are some of you who do not believe. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that did not believe, and who it was that would betray him.
Komabe alipo ena mwa inu amene sakukhulupirira.” Pakuti Yesu ankadziwa kuyambira pachiyambi ena mwa iwo amene samakhulupirira ndi amene adzamupereka Iye.
65 And he said, For this cause I have told you, that no one can come to me, unless it hath been given him from the Father.
Iye anapitiriza kunena kuti, “Ichi ndi chifukwa chake ndinakuwuzani kuti palibe wina angabwere kwa Ine pokhapokha Atate atamuthandiza.”
66 From this time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
Kuyambira nthawi imeneyi ophunzira ake ambiri anabwerera ndipo sanamutsatenso Iye.
67 Jesus therefore said to the twelve, Do ye also wish to go away?
Yesu anafunsa khumi ndi awiriwo kuti, “Kodi inu mukufuna kuchokanso?”
68 Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast words of everlasting life; (aiōnios )
Simoni Petro anamuyankha Iye kuti, “Ambuye, ife tidzapita kwa yani? Inu muli ndi mawu amoyo wosatha. (aiōnios )
69 and we have believed and known, that thou art the Holy One of God.
Ife tikhulupirira ndi kudziwa kuti Inu ndinu Woyerayo wa Mulungu.”
70 Jesus answered them, Did not I choose you twelve? and one of you is a devil!
Kenaka Yesu anayankha kuti, “Kodi Ine sindinakusankheni inu khumi ndi awiri? Komabe mmodzi wa inu ndi mdierekezi.”
71 He spoke of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot; for it was he that was about to betray him, being one of the twelve.
(Iye amanena Yudasi, mwana wa Simoni Isikarioti amene ngakhale anali mmodzi mwa khumi ndi awiriwo, anali woti adzamupereka).
